Prolouge
"I hate you!" We're the last words I had ever screamed at my foster family before hitting the streets on my bike. With a bag slung over my shoulder, I traveled to bridge valley, a neighborhood I knew to be safe. In the nature preserve, there was moss and trees for sleeping places, at least for the summer. As for the winter, I would cross that bridge when I came to it. With only my bike, a helmet, my Red Cross babysitting license, and some food to my name, I started looking for work.
I decided to look down Summerhill Ln. for work. Going house to house, I asked if anyone needed a babysitter. That's when I saw Adam, one of the kids from my school , in his driveway playing basketball. I looked away quickly, and biked to the next house, who actually accepted my offer, saying they needed a babysitter for that night.
Adam POV
I was playing basketball in my driveway when a girl with long, pretty, dirty blond hair rode past on a bike. She stared at me for a moment, but rapidly looked away. I wonder who she is?
