Oh, Grim thought. He didn't count on Artemis being so understanding.

Like air being let from a balloon, Grim exhaled, shoulders slumping in relief. He fell back, the damp grass like a cousin against his torso. Artemis lay beside him, hands on his stomach.

The allure of the stars lulled them into a mystified silence. Grim hadn't seen the night sky in days. Angry clouds gathered on every side of the sliver of sky, but it stood strong, holding out against the odds.

Grim thought about Cosmos, the legend his father always found a way to shoehorn into a conversation. Grim wondered what he saw, how he felt. Gods didn't die, so, despite his pityful form, Cosmos was alive.

"The stars are beautiful," Artemis said breathlessly, "Even though the origin is kinda sad."

Artemis squeezed Grim's hand. "Hey, mind if I share an opinion?"

"Might as well," Grim replied, "The world's probably gonna be gone in a couple days."

"I don't think Cosmos was lazy. You said it yourself, his job was lame. Maybe that's what he thought too. I think Cosmos stopped doing his duties because he thought he wasn't important, that he didn't matter," Artemis turned his head, kind eyes cutting through Grim, "That's just how I see it."

"I like that version better," Grim murmured, the corners of his mouth finally rising into a smile.

A rumble of thunder in the distance brought him back to the current problem at hand: the world was literally ending.

Artemis may be back on his side, but that didn't really matter much if Eris killed everything. His number one issue right now was getting rid of Eris. Which posed a problem, as she was immortal.

He sighed, drumming the ground with his fingers. The stars seemed to twinkle brighter than usual.

That's it!

"Moony, I've got it!" Grim shouted.
He dragged Artemis to his feet, Artemis struggling to find his footing. "Wait, what?"

"I know how to defeat Eris!" he cried, shaking him roughly by the shoulder, "We've gotta go!"

Taking a deep breath, Artemis nodded. "I'm not sure what you're planning, but I'll follow you to the ends of the earth. Let's do this."
