Chapter 3: Escape Amongst The Dead

Saeko: My name is Saeko Busujima, captain of the Kendo Club, and you must be Y/n L/n...

Y/n: Kendo club? Then you must be a very tough fighter.

Kohta: Wait! You dont know who Saeko senpai is!?

Y/n: Didn't i tell you to keep your voices down...?

Y/n scolded as the hallway fell silent.

Y/n: I don't need to know everyone is this school, I prioritize myself surviving today and even in the future. So if you guys want to survive, follow me...

Saya: Why should we follow you? You won't protect us from them

Y/n: Says the person who I just saved a minute ago...

Saya: That!? I could've handled that myself!

Shizuka: Not to interrupt, but I do think it's best of we all stick together...

Kohta: Y-Yeah, I think so too...

Y/n: I will be heading to the Staff room, if you guys wanna come with, then you obliged.

Shizuka: But we were also going

Y/n: I see, then follow me...

Y/n walked quietly, when he heard footsteps he stopped around the corner as the others too.

Shizuka: Why did you suddenly stop?

Y/n: Quiet...

Y/n shut down Shizuka as she wined.

Y/n slowly peeped around the corner as he saw a boy and a girl.

He came out as well as the others.

Y/n: Where are you guys headed?

Takashi: We are getting supplies...

Y/n: There's nothing behind, but I think there should be at the Staff Room...

Y/n looked at Kohta as he noticed he was blushing while looking at Shizuka sensei.

Y/n: Perv-

Y/n stopped as he also looked to where Kohta was staring.

He blushed as he quickly looked away and covered Kohta's eyes using the bat.

Y/n: Stop staring...

Timeskip

The group made it to the staff room. They rested for awhile since it was tiring fighting off some of the zombies.

Y/n: I'm thirsty-

Hayashi held out a water bottle in front of Y/n as he took it.

Y/n: Thanks...

Y/n opened it as he took a long sip.

Rei: Hey guys look...

Rei said as everyone was now focused on the TV.

As the TV Reporter was filling in some minor details of the outbreak the broadcast was suddenly cut short

Y/n:..It's already spreading at an insane speed...

Takashi: Why haven't they given us more details? What's going on exactly?

Y/n: Use your brains...

Y/n got up as he grabbed his bat.

Y/n: We have to move now...

Shizuka: Eh! Why now?

Saeko: If we stay too long then there would be more of them.

Everyone grabbed their weapons as they stood ready.

Saeko: From here on out we work as a team.

Timeskip

Saya: They can't see, so they react to sound that's why we have to be quiet, just in case not to run into unnecessary-

“HELP!!!"

A loud screening  came from beneath them as everyone reacted.

Y/n jumped off the staircase everyone was by as he saw multiple zombies surrounding a group.

Takuzo: H-Help us!!

Y/n gripped his bat tightly as he swung it, hitting two zombies with all his force so that they can't get back up again.

Y/n: Tsk!

He gritted his teeth, but out of nowhere Saeko landed on the last remaining zombie and stabbed it through it's head.

Naomi: THANK YOU-

Saeko: You should lower your voice.

Naomi: (whisper) Y-Yeah

Y/n: Not that low...

Saya: You guys can come with us~

Saya looked over to Y/n as he noticed.

Saya: You won't mind it right?

Y/n: Of course not, right now we'll need to help each other out to get out of this situation...

Saya: Oh, so you actually have a heart.

Y/n: What do you think I am?

Saeko: That is enough from you two. We don't have time to argue amongst each other.

Rei: Busujima senpai's right. Our top priority is getting to safety

Timeskip

The group now more expanded has made it to yet another staircase, but this was the last one, since the exit door was right there. Only problem was...

Hayashi: They're everywhere...

Saya: We can walk just pass them since they only react to sound.

Shizuka: If it's as sage as you say, then you should go first.

Saya hesitated as everyone too.

Takashi: Then I'll go...

Rei: What Takashi-

Saeko Busujima stopped her as Takashi could only smile.

Y/n: I'll go with him~

Takashi: You don't have to-

Y/n: I'm not asking, plus you are capable of faking many of them down. It'd be a waste if you'd just die...

He pushed Takashi with his bag signaling him to go.

Takashi made his way as Y/n was just right behind him, covering his back just in case something went wrong.

But there indict suddenly warned then as a zombie was approaching them

Y/n readied his bat, but luckily, the zombie walked pass them.

Takashi looked to Y/n as both of them gave a nervous smile.

Takashi picked up a nearby shoe as he threw it against one of the lockers.

The sound echoed through the area as all the zombies reacted and walked towards the sound.

Y/n: (mind) Nice!

Takashi and Y/n quickly and quietly opened the door as everyone followed.

Y/n: (whisper) Good-

‘CLING!!!'

A loud metal echoed through what most would say, the entire school.

Takashi: R-R-RUN!!!

Y/n had Hayashi's car keys and quickly looked around for it, buy couldn't find it.

Y/n: Where the-

Saya: Get onto the bus!

There were too many zombies, but the group still pushed forward.

Y/n was helping the others who were getting surrounded as almost everyone got on.

Saeko: Y/n, get-

Miku: Please help us!!

A group of students and a single teacher ran towards the bus.

Y/n: I'll help them out...

Takashi: Hey!

Rei: Y/n! Leave them be!

Y/n: If I can't make it in time, drive without me

Saeko: L/n!

Saeko and Takashi got on the bus as Y/n went to go and help the others.

While Y/n was occupying the zombies, the last group made it on the bus.

Saeko: L/n, get on!

Takashi: Y/n!

Shizuka: U-Um guys, the zombies are surrounding the bus-

Hayashi: We should wait for Y/n

Shido: No! He has made a great sacrifice for us! It would be in vain if we all just got eaten. Drive.

Rei: You-

Saeko: Shido sensei is right. I will keep my promise with Y/n. Shizuka sensei, Drive.

Shizuka: O-Okay!

Shizuka revved the bus as it took off leaving Y/n.

Y/n: Shit!

Y/n made a path by throwing his bat at the zombies and ran as fast as he could.

Kohta: His fast! Guys look!

Everyone looked out the window as the saw Y/n running at an insane speed.

Saya: How's he going to get in?

Suddenly Y/n surprised everyone as he jumped on one of the zombies and onto the bus, gripping the sides tightly.

Y/n: OOF!!!

Hayashi: Y/N! ARE YOU OKAY!?

Y/n: I'm fine, just keep driving...
