---Nightmare's POV----

I grunted as Cross suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me along the corridor.

"Cross what are you doing?!" I hissed.

He didn't answer and stopped at a random classroom. He peaked through the window in the door then slowly opened the door, the whole time griping my arm, as if I'd run of he let go.

In all honesty I probably would, this is all so random and sudden that I'm just a little creeped out. Cross leaned back and checked both ways in the corridor before pushing the door to the classroom and pulling me in.

I raised an 'eyebrow' as I saw the classroom was empty. Cross shut the door and peeked out the window one last time before turning back to face me.

"Uhh, so this may seem weird..."

"It's extremely weird." I muttered.

Cross stared at me, letting go of my arm. "Basically." He said quietly . "I'm trying to save your life."

I laughed. "Really? I'm what way."

"It's the others." He whispered. "They're attempting to pull a prank on you. And it involves lots of water."

I tensed. "What do you mean by that."

"The primary objective is getting you drenched in water. They overheard Dream talking about you having some other form without goop that can only surface if you get covered in water or something liquidy."

I growled. I'm gonna kill Dream and all those idiots. They can't know about....

I glanced at Cross. "Is that why they tackled you at Break?"

He nodded frantically. "They told me about it and said I couldn't tell you but I didn't think it was a good idea seeing as you told me that water burns you. They wanted me to be a distraction for you so that they could sneak up and get the water on you. They must have known I'd say no though, because as soon as I made a move towards you they were in action."

"Uhh, so what did they do to you when they dragged you off?"

He glanced behind us at the door quickly before continuing. "They dragged me to behind the bicycle shed. That's where their main water supply is. I'm not sure if they have more round the school, but I'm assuming that's got the most. Anyway, they fricking tied me to a chair and gagged me! When I say they're serious about this. They're serious."

I looked around the classroom, as if they could be hidden under the tables or something.

"How'd you escape?"

He laughed silently and pulled out a shiny knife. "Well, they tied me up with rope and probably forgot I have these."

I nodded.

Cross looked up at me. "Your basically on the run for the rest of the day."

I grimaced and nodded. Cross looked down at the floor. "W-Well I can help you."

I laughed and ruffled the top of his skull. "As cute as I find that offer, I'm gonna have to pass. I'll get through this easier alone."

Cross looked up at me. "B-But–"

His sentence was cut short by the sound of knocking on glass and we slowly turned to the door to see Dust looking in and grinning.

"Found you." He mouthed.

Cross looked around frantically before running over to the other side of the classroom. I backed away from the door and looked quickly over at Cross. He was pushing a table up against the wall of the classroom, the wall that has windows...

I could hear Dust laughing as Fell came into view at the door, in his hands, was a massive, bucket, of water.

I panicked a little bit. That would be more than enough to force me out of–
My thoughts were cut off as Cross yanked me across the classroom to the tables. Dust seemed to see what Cross was planning and pushed open the door. "Heeeyyy Niiiiigghhttmaaarrreee." He called, a mad grin on his face.

Fell walked in with the water and they both laughed. "There's nowhere to run Nightmare."

Cross pulled me onto the table. "That's what they think." He muttered under his breath before fiddling with the latch and pushing open the window.

Dust frowned. "Don't run away, we're not really gonna pour this on you, we're just joking!"

Cross glanced at Dust then at me. "Your bad at lying Dust." I said smoothly.

Dust laughed and shrugged. "Can't blame me for trying right?" Then he grinned and chucked the bucket of water at us.

Cross practically dived out the widow, pulling me along with him.
We both let out half screams as we fell, but the classroom we were in was only ground floor so we didn't have to fall far.

I landed on top of Cross, but quickly rolled off as Dust yelled in frustration and dumped dumped another bucket of water out the window.

I quickly dragged Cross out of the splash zone and gripped him to me, kinda like a shield as a few droplets splashed off the ground and over to us.

One droplet hit my hand and I hissed quietly, the feeling of it burning me all to noticeable.

Cross squirmed out of my grip, a faint purple tinting his face. "Come on we need to run." He said, pulling me up by the arm.

I chuckled. "I still never said I wanted you to help me."

Cross stopped and looked down at the floor. "B-But I...Without me you'd be in that room right now being drenched by water!"

"No without you I'd be halfway through a lesson right now, completely fine."

Cross shook his head. "They said not even class would stop them. That's what they were counting on, you can't run out and leave if your halfway through a lesson."

I looked at him. "Are you serious?"

He nodded.

I stared at him for a good minute, not doing anything. Cross looked at me cutely and took a step back, his face purple. "Uhh, N-Nightmare?"

I shook myself out of my trance and huffed. "Fine you can come with me, but you've got to do everything I say."

Cross nodded without hesitation.

I smirked and stroked the side of his face lightly, just letting my hand brush against him. "Your always so good towards me~"

Cross blushed and I pushed away, looking around. "We need to find somewhere to stay for the rest of the day, somewhere they won't find..."

"Uhh, how about the gardening shed?" Cross asked.

I thought for a moment before I started walking. "Lets be quick."

We got to the location and slowed down, checking left and right for any signs a of the others and those dreaded buckets of water. So far so good.

Cross stepped out first and cautiously walked over to the garden shed. I stayed back and kept to the shadows, letting him check for danger. He'd been gone for about a minute, which is longer than it should take to check the shed, it's pretty small after all.

That's when a muffled yell for help came from the direction Cross went in. I instantly ran towards it, but skidded to a stop as I saw the guys. They had tackled Cross down and were all looking at me, wide grins on their faces.

"Oh Nightmare~" Dust cooed. "There's nowhere to run now, we have Cross, let us pour water on you and we'll let him go...unscathed."

I laughed. "You wouldn't hurt him."

Dust laughed. "True true. But...we have been finding it increasingly hard to keep Killer from stabbing him."

I took a step backwards and looked at Cross. He was thrashing and squirming, but it was clearly not going to work. He had Reaper, Fell and Horror all holding him down. Attempting to escape would just drain his energy.

Cross looked over at me and his eyes widened. "NIGHTMARE BEHIND YOU!!!"

I looked back in time to see Error chucking a bucket of water at me. I yelped and dived out of the way, rolling on the grass before stumbling to my feet, hissing at the burning sensation the water gave as some droplets hit me.

Error yelled in frustration and threw the bucket on the floor. "WE WERE SO CLOSE!"

I looked back over at Cross in time to see him elbow Horror in the gut, knee Fell in the pelvis and punch Reaper. Horror and Fell let go of him, stumbling back, swearing under their breaths.

Reaper however didn't let go and gripped Cross tighter. I sprinted past them and wrapped a tentacle round Cross' waist, yanking him out of Reapers grip.

I ducked as another bucket of water was thrown at me and I scrambled round a building and hid, gripping Cross tightly. He blushed and squirmed in my grip and I quickly released him. "You okay?"

He nodded.

"Good."

---Cross' POV----

I looked at Nightmare and blushed. He had risked getting soaked to rescue me.

I shook my head and peered round the corner. It doesn't look like the guys saw where we went. Good. God they're actually so serious about this. It's actually kind of scary.

"Hey Nightmare..." I trailed off, sensing something was wrong.

I quickly whipped round to face Nightmare and froze.

I didn't even have time to yell a warning as Dust appeared behind him and dumped the whole bucket of water over his head...
