After School

---Dream's POV----

My lesson of geography ended as the bell rang and instantly the corridors were filled with swarms of people rushing to escape school.

I checked my phone. I had felt it vibrate during class but I had ignored it, seeing as one of the schools main rules is no using your phones inappropriately in class.

I switched it on to see it was a text from Nighty.

Hey Dream, just scored you a date with your stupid crush. Meet him at the blossom tree at the front of school. Thank me later.

I blushed and put the phone down and looked around me. This was most likely a prank. But then again, at lunch he did tell me to go to Inks after school because of his detention.

I started walking in the direction of the blossom tree, looking out for any signs of Ink or my brother.

There!

I could see Ink. He was leant up against the blossom tree, a bored expression on his face. I quickly ran over to him, waving my arm to grab his attention.

His gaze flicked to the side and he seemed to notice me. He grinned and pushed off the tree making his way over to me.

"Heya Dream." He said happily.

"Hi!" I giggled.

Ink looked at me strangely for a moment before looking at something over my shoulder. I looked behind me quickly, I couldn't see anything interesting.

"So...." Ink said, making me snap my attention back to him. "I guess your coming round mine for a while then."

I nodded, rubbing the back of my skull in embarrassment. "I-I could just go home if y-you want. I'll be alone for a while b-before Nighty comes back b-but I'm sure I'll be fine..."

Ink sighed, a small smile growing on his face. "Dream you and I both know that you hate being left alone. You'd be terrified in that house."

I looked down at the floor. I hated being alone in houses or buildings, I would start imaging the worst. Shadows would move in my mind and I'd hear noises that aren't really there.

Ink chuckled and I looked back up at him. He reached out and grabbed my arm. "Let's go!" He laughed, running out through the school gates, bringing me after him.

I laughed and ran after him as he let go of my arm, the two of us chasing each other down the road. We got a few odd glances from people but we ignored them, we were having fun so we didn't care.

It only took a few minutes to reach Inks house, we both stood there panting for a while, trying to catch our breath back.

Ink eventually gulped down enough air and stumbled over to the door, unlocking it and running in. I quickly followed, shutting the door following him into the living room where he collapsed on one of the sofas.

I belly flopped on the other sofa and let out a content sigh. Ink chuckled and I laughed weakly in response, I snuggled deeper into the sofa, wrapping my arms around the cushions and pulling them closer to me.

I heard Ink shuffling about on the other sofa, probably getting comfortable. He sighed happily and I could almost picture him in my mind, leant back and looking up at the ceiling.

We must have stayed like that for about ten minutes, just laying there, being happy with how comfortable we were.

Eventually I heard Ink sit up and get off the sofa. I lifted my head up and glanced at him sleepily. He hummed and rubbed the top of my skull affectionately.

I felt my skull flush yellow and I hid it in the pillows, hiding it from sight.

Ink left the room and I peered out from the pillows, my face going back to its normal colour. Ink walked back in, but this time with a plate of something.

I sat up, trying to see what he had on the plate. He smirked and picked one of them up. Cookies.

I immediately reached out for one but Ink lifted the plate out of my reach. I whined and reached out for them again and this time Ink let me grab one. But only one.

I'm the sort of person that can eat one cookie and be bouncing off the walls in a sugar high. I don't think my brother would be very happy then. He's probably pissed off enough as it is, getting a detention on the first day.

I really do hope he starts behaving better. He has been doing better here than he had done at previous schools, but I don't want the risk of him being expelled again. Because wherever he goes, I have to follow.

This is my favorite school so far, I think its the same for him. I really don't want to leave. I had Ink and Blue now. And they were definitely the best friends I'd had out of all the different schools.

If we did have to move then I'm sure they'd say that we'll all stay in touch. But we won't. That's what all my other friends had said, but I never even got a text message.

Ink broke me out of my thought by waving a hand in front of my face. I snapped back into reality and jumped, looking over at Inks amused expression.

"You good there Dream?" He asked.

"Umm, yeah. Sorry, I umm, just zoned out then."

He laughed and took a bite out of his cookie, I took small nibbles of mine, working my way around the edge like a mouse.

I looked around the room and spied one of Inks many drawing books. I stood up, pushing the cushions to the side. Ink watched as I picked up the art book. He saw what I was after and chuckled.

I picked up the thick book and sat down next to Ink. He shuffled closer to me and I opened the book to the first page. It was a sunset painting, the view you could see from cliff top.

I flicked to the next page to see a sketch of a rabbit and a robbin, there were a few landscape and animal drawings, he had obviously done them during the Holliday's.

Then I came across a painting of me. It was from art class, I remember, we had to paint the person opposite us. I had done Ink and he had done me. Mine had came out looking terrible whereas his was perfect.

I turned to the next page to see a portrait of Blue, and another one of me. I flicked through the pages recognizing some people and scenery from school.

I smiled as a painting of my brother came up, he had the classic 'I'm bored' expression on his face and looked like he wanted to do anything other than what he had been doing when Ink had draw him.

I snapped the book shut as the doorbell rang. I glanced at Ink and he shrugged, standing up and walking out of the living room. I heard him open the door and greet whoever was outside with obvious surprise.

I walked out and to the door to see who it was only to find Nightmare talking with Ink. He noticed me instantly and grinned. "Come on Dreamy. We're off. Say goodbye to your....friend."

I frowned at him and he merely chuckled.

"Well, bye Dream." Ink said, pulling me into a hug. I hugged back and ignored the sounds of Nightmare pretending to throw up.

"Come on Dreamy." He groaned. "You'll see him tomorrow."

Ink pulled away and waved me off as Nightmare dragged me out the door and down the street.

"BYEEE!" I called.

"CYA!" Ink yelled before laughing and shutting the door.

I laughed and stumbled after Nightmare.

"How come you got out of detention so fast? I can't have been at Inks for that long!"

"You weren't." Nightmare muttered.

I frowned, my brain getting to work.

'Then why are you here?"

He chuckled and looked up at the sky.

"Well the teacher left the classroom about halfway through the detention and told me not to leave. But you know me, if someone tells me not to do something there's a very high probability I'll do it. So I gave myself leave and left school to collect you."

I face palmed and groaned.

"That's not how it works Nightmare!"
