#5
Another friendly reminder that this is a new and improved version of rant #5
How much do you wanna bet you've had a taste of being class pet...
So the class pet. One of the most common high school species there is, and let's admit, not the most popular outside the classroom...
These students simply cannot get enough attention and plain, bland favoritism from teachers, plus, it pretty much bugs the snow cones out of everyone else! Have you ever noticed that every opportunity they get, they are either complimenting the teacher on something or answering all of the question correctly? And that they are always either sitting in the front of the classroom or as close to the front as possible? YUP ._. That's a teacher's pet for you all right!
Don't get me wrong here- do the best that you can in every class, sit in the front if you're struggling, and there's nothing wrong with answering a question correctly here and there.
But this is where I draw the line:
Instance 1:
Student: Oh man! I can't really see the board properly, and this is important information. I think it'll be alright if I sit in the front-even if it's just for today.
*moves books and pencil cases to the front of the classroom*
*in the process, the student has a run-in with the class pet*
Class pet: WHAT are you doing in my seat? Huh?
Student: Sorry, I um, is it OK if I sit here today? I can't really see the board from the back and-
Class pet: MISS!
Teacher: Yes?
Class pet: There's someone in my seat!
*teacher looks at student*
Teacher: What on earth are you doing?! BACK TO YOUR SEAT. NOW! I have called in your parents once before and I'll do it again!
Student: ok:(
*moves to the back of the classroom, and mopes around for the rest of the school day*
Instance 2:
Student: *thinks to themselves* Yes! Today is the day where I will FINALLY put up my hand in class to answer the question, because I understand the work.
Teacher: Settle down class! Now, would anyone like to tell me a few differences between animal and plant cells?
Student: *puts up hand and is about to answer the question*
Class pet: *answers the question*
Just plain rude!:|
You know, I think that one of the things that bugs me the most about class pets, is that in front of the teacher, they seem like perfect individuals. BUT IN REAL LIFE: they're at total BITCH!
A message for all class pets: There are more people in the class than YOU, good marks come from hard work, NOT from being besties with your teacher, and man, would it really kill you to give others the opportunities to succeed?
Sincerely, the Author.
