- Three Months Later -

"Mom?"

I called her from the attic, holding a dusty black file hidden in a box full of my uncle's things. I wiped off the dust accumulated in the plastic cover to see a symbol above an abbreviated title.

Mom: Yes dear?

She replied minutes after at the opened hatch of the attic. I walk to the hatch and showed her the file from above.

"What's this?"

Mom: Oh? That's from your uncle's old workplace. When he retired, the foundation went here and gave me that file. I haven't opened it since they said it was top secret.

I stare at the shiny black plastic cover and back at mom. I'm quite interested on what secrecy this file contains.

"May I open it?"

Mom: Go ahead, dear.

She smiled and walked away. I dropped the soaked cleaning towel and opened the file, but was interrupted by my mom calling from downstairs.

Mom: Uhm? F/n? Would you like some Diet Coke with your burger?

F/n: That'd be swell, mother.

Mom: Oh you!~

I turn back at the file. Taking a deep breath, awaiting for something weird to show up from this file. I opened it to see the name of my uncle's corporation again.

F/n: The hell? What is this..? 173...?

I read further into the file and found the place where my uncle worked at.

"The SCP Foundation..."
