High School Diaries (Chapter 56)~Feelings About The... "Event."

Aphmau's POV

A Couple Weeks Later...

I've gotten over everything, yet Laurance isn't... He took it differently then I did. Laurance is sorry, he apologizes just about every time I see him. If he doesn't then he'll apologize even more the next time. He'll even apologize for not apologizing! I sigh, walking over to his, Cadenza and Marshal's house. I knock on the door to see Cadenza opening it.

"Hey, Aphmau!" She whispers.

"Why're we whispering?" I reply in a quiet tone.

She motions me in, then points to the couch. Laurance and Marshal are both passed out on the couch. Laurance is sprawled out, one foot hanging off of the cushion. Marshal is spread out too, on Laurance's chest. She gets pushed up and down slightly, due to Laurance's breathing patterns. I gush at the sight.

"They're so cute." I gush quietly.

"I know right?" Cadenza replies.

We giggle, then I invite Cadenza for a stroll. She accepts, then we start to walk outside, "So... How's Laurance?" I ask.

It's been a couple weeks since everything with Sasha, Gene and the Shadow Souls. That's why I'm worried about Laurance, he hasn't stopped and it's almost been a month.

"He's doing fine... But he's still beating himself up over it." Cadenza replies.

I look over at the forest that's close to the park. I sigh, "When do you think he'll get over it?" Cadenza asks.

"I honestly have no idea. You're by him more than I am." I say.

"You're right." Cadenza agrees.

She is the one to sigh this time. Her sigh has worry laced in it more so than mine did.

"You're worried about him... Aren't you?" I add.

"Yea..." She admits.

"He'll be fine. Do you want me to talk to him?" I offer.

"You'll barely get a word in. He'll just continue to apologize." Cadenza says.

I ponder in my thoughts, "I'll make him listen." I state.

"I don't want you to force him to do anything." Cadenza looks around, both of us making eye contact.

"I won't." I promise. Cadenza smiles, then we continue to walk.

~1 Hour Later, Laurance's POV

I wake up to Marshal looking straight at me. Her eyes are as wide as saucers. She lays on my chest, starring into my soul. Her red eyes don't change the fact that she's literally.... Starring into my soul.

"Daddy Laur Laur?" Marshal starts.

"Yes?" I say in a sleepy and lowered voice.

"Where's Mwomma Cwadenza?" Marshal asks.

I look around and start to panic, but have to act cool on the outside for Marshal's sake. In seconds after looking, the door opens. A laughing Cadenza and Aphmau walk through the door.

"AUNTIE APH~MOO!" Marshal screams, smiling.

She hops off of me then runs to the two girls that just walked in. I get up, my hair ruffled from the static electricity from the couch. Aphmau picks Marshal up.

"Wanna see Levin?" Aphmau asks. Marshal smiles brightly and starts nodding frantically, "Lets go!" Aphmau exclaims.

Cadenza gives her an assuring nod. Aphmau smiles at Cadenza and I, then walks out the door with Marshal, "Are you ok?" Cadenza asks, walking closer.

"W-Why would you say that?" I question, shuffling around uncomfortably.

"You've seemed off ever since you got back from the... Event." Cadenza says.

"I don't want to talk about it." I state quietly.

"We're talking about it. What's wrong?" She continues with a stern tone.

"I feel like I did Aphmau wrong..." I vent, giving into Cadenza.

"You didn't have control, Laurance. You couldn't have changed anything." Cadenza tries to comfort me.

"I know.. But still.. The scars are still on her neck. From MY SWORD." I raise my voice.

"Calm down..." Cadenza trails off.

I take a breath, then look at her again, "Even know I couldn't control it... I still feel awful. It was still my hands, my sword.." I continue.

"That wasn't your sword. That was a Shadow Knight's sword. You're not a Shadow Knight. You're human." Cadenza persuades.

"But I'm still a Shadow Knight. I may have held onto my humanity, but that doesn't change that I'm still half monster." I ruffle my fingers through my hair, obviously flustered.

Cadenza grabs my hand and puts it in my lap, "You're NOT a monster." Cadenza states sternly.

I swear, if this were a cartoon, there'd be steam fuming from Cadenza's ears. Her face has a slight red tint, signaling her anger. I try to calm her down, but nothing works.

"Calm down, Cadenza." I say softly.

Her expression softens, the red leaving her face, "I'm gonna... Go sow something." She states, getting up.

I know she's flustered, and sowing normally helps calm her down. I get up and we hug for a second. We release, then take our separate ways. I walk out then make my way to Aphmau's house. I knock on the door, with Aaron answering it.

"She's upstairs." Aaron smiles softly.

I return the gesture, thank him, then walk upstairs. When I open Aphmau's door, Levin, Marshal and her are in cheesy princess dresses. Levin's dress is purple with pink ruffles lacing down it. Marshal's tiara is hanging over her face, it only staying on her head due to one of her cat ears. Aphmau giggles at the kids. Levin tries to hold his pinkie up while drinking some 'tea' (which is actually soda) but accidentally holds out all his fingers, causing the cup to fall in his lap. Since the cup was empty, nothing got on his dress. I take a picture of the three of them. Aphmau notices me chuckling, then gives me a small smile.

"You don't have to stay." Aphmau whispers loud enough for me to hear.

I nod in thanks, then walk out. She seems to got this. I'm glad Marshal has an auntie like her..
