High School Diaries (Chapter 26)~Tsunami Break!
Laurance's POV
"Chad, how much longer?" I groan.
"Just a couple more hours, lad!" Chad says like it's nothing.
"What!?" I exclaim, almost flipping my lid.
Chad chuckles softly, "Calm down. Research takes time!" Chad cheers.
I groan again, this man is crazy. Suddenly, I see something with a horn start to rip thru the waves.
"Laurance!" A familiar voice roars.
I look up, curiously. "T-Travis?" I question.
"Laurance!" The voice calls out again.
The man gets closer, his eyes widening. "Travis! What's wrong?" I ask.
"L-Laurance.. Don't look b-behind you.." Travis stutters nervously.
Chad and I hesitantly turn our heads around, a huge wave coming out way. "Quick! Hop on!" Travis orders.
I look down and see Ross in his narwhal form. "But I can't leave my research!" Chad protests.
"It's either that or die!" Travis growls.
I hop onto narwhal Ross, Chad now kissing every book on that small canoe.
"I love you resear--" Chad starts
"CHAD COME ON!" I yell.
Chad looks at me, hurt, "Patience, child!" Chad exclaims.
I glance at the wave, which is getting incredibly close.
"CHAD COME ON!" Travis and I roar.
Chad finishes kissing his research, then waddles onto Ross. I can tell that Ross is having a hard time holding us all, so I pat Ross' head in assurance. If you're wondering how I know about Ross and them, it's because Aaron and I were talking about them a few weeks back. Ross then hops away, me looking back at the wave. It's now completely engulfing Chad's canoe, roaring towards us.
The wave starts to gain speed, "Ross, faster!" I command.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" Ross defends, bubbles filling his words. His speed quickly catches pace, the speed increasing slightly.
Travis and I look back at the tsunami, Chad clutching onto Ross' fin. That's gotta hurt... Travis and I meet eye contact
"Where're Garroth, Aphmau and Aaron?" I ask.
"They're on the shore, waiting for us." Travis informs.
"We have to get them away from that shore now. If this tsunami continues to gain speed, that shore will be wiped out the moment we get there." I ponder.
"You're right... But we don't have any communication with them right now..." Travis trails off.
"We have to think of-- I got it!" There might as well just be a light bulb over my head, I got the perfect idea.
"What is it?" Travis asks.
"Stay here." I command.
Travis nods hesitantly, then I jump into the ocean, turning into my Shadow Knight form in the process of diving. I know that my eyes have already turned blue, so I don't think that anything else would turn blue.
"Laurance!" I hear Travis scream from over the water.
I ignore his calls for me, then I start paddling to the beginning of the wave. I try to grab the particles of water that's charging towards Chad, Ross, and Travis. I continue to grab until I finally get over the water, into the air. The glove on my armor starts to turn sea green, then into a dark blue. I ignore it then start to paddle up to the cress of the wave. I glide at the top along with the wave. I look out, the shore coming into my eyesight. I can see the yellow sand of the beach, but barely. I can also see the redness of the Golden Gateway Bridge. I'm guessing that we're in San Francisco... That would be bad, since all of the houses are together, the water would just expand thru the streets and houses... I need to stop this... Now.
I look up to the sky, "Irene... Please." I mumble.
I wait for a few moments, then energy surges through my veins. Water starts to pour from my fingertips, the baby blue in my eyes becoming an electric blue. The red tint in my armor starts to become sea green. I use the water from my fingertips to my advantage. I toss my arms in the air, the tide following it. I flip back with the wave, not losing my balance. The tide rises, me smashing it back into the water. It creates a smaller wave, that gives Ross a slight push, but not much. I look back, to see the sea at it's regular nature. Clam, yet lively.
The water from my fingers stop, me falling out of the sky. I transform into my regular, human form as I fall. I smash into the water, the impact of the water not bothering me at all. A gust of wind pushes me to Travis, Ross, and Chad, me hopping onto the narwhal. "
Wow... Laurance.. What was that!?" Travis exclaims, my eyes becoming their normal baby blue color.
"I don't know. Thank Irene it worked.." I mumble the last part.
"What worked?" Travis questions.
"Magicks." I state, simply.
By the time we finish our little chat, we're already washing back up to shore. Once Travis, Chad and I dismount Ross, he pops into his human form.
"Thank you, Ross." I thank.
Ross stretches a tad, "No problem.." He mumbles as he pops his knuckles.
Aphmau and Garroth both engulf me in a hug, "That was amazing.." Aphmau muffles.
"How'd you do that?" Garroth asks.
Once they release, I look at both of them, "Thanks for coming back for me.." I thank.
"Always." Aphmau smiles, "Really, that was amazing." She finishes.
"Thanks." I smile.
"How'd you do it?" Garroth repeats.
"I don't know, honestly. It's Irene you should be thanking, not me." I look up at the sky.
The sun starts to shine a little brighter for a split second, then it goes down to it's normal color.
"Come on, lets stay at Adam's for tonight.." Aphmau pats my back, then walks away with Aaron following her. I can't believe I did that....
