Chapter Eighteen- The Demon World

Celso quickly packed up his bag and slung it over his shoulder. He took his two swords and sheathed them by his side. Turning around, he saw Derek standing in the doorway wringing his hands and looking down at his feet.

"What's on your mind, Derek?" Celso asked him. He looked down to make sure everything was strapped in place.

Derek hesitated. "Do you think we can save her?"

Celso looked up at Derek surprised at his question. "Why would you ask that?"

Derek shrugged. "We're going to a place where demons run around by themselves. How are we going to save Athena from them when there's more of them than us?"

Celso smiled at him and walked over to him. "We're not alone on this, Derek. Professor Samson and I called up some of our friends. They're going to meet us there. I promise you, we're going to save her and bring her back home."

Derek looked up at him. Celso could tell that he still had doubts.

"Derek," he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Trust me."

Celso took a deep breath and nodded his head. "Alright."

"Let's get going." Celso pushed past Derek and walked down the hall. He heard Derek's footsteps behind him as he walked outside.

"How did you figure out where the castle was?" Derek asked him.

Celso continued to walk until he stopped by the motorcycle. "All I had to do was close my eyes and envision where she was. It should me exactly where she was and how to get there. How it did that, I don't know, but I'm glad it did either way." He put on gloves and grabbed the helmet. He pointed towards the car driving towards them. "You'll be riding with Professor Samson." He swung his leg over the side of the motorcycle and started the engine. "I'll meet you all there. Be safe."

"We will," Derek nodded. "Please, Celso, be safe. For Athena."

"Everything I do is for her." He strapped his helmet on and took off down the road.

Celso gripped the handles as tight as he could. Motorcycles had never made him nervous, but his destination was making his stomach tie in knots. Derek was right. They were going into a castle run by demons. They were going to be outnumbered, but Celso didn't care. All he wanted was to see Athena again. He wanted to be able to take her home and hold her again.

He just hoped that she was alright and safe. From what he knows about these demons was that they weren't going to kill her, but they were going to make her hurt. He sped up a bit with that thought.

-

Two hours later, Celso stopped his motorcycle in the middle of a field. The grass was brown and dry and trees surrounded the grass trapping it in a circle. Celso cringed as he heard the crunch of the grass underneath his feet.

Looking around, he didn't see anyone else had made it here. He knew that a few of the people he had called told him that they would meet him here, but he didn't see them.

Maybe I'm just early, he thought while looking at his watch. It was one thirty in the afternoon. Nope. I'm on time.

A car's engine sounded behind him. He turned around and rested his hands on the handles of his swords. He watched as a black car stopped beside his motorcycle. It wasn't Professor Samson's car, and he couldn't see who was behind the wheel.

All four car doors opened and four people came out. Celso released the grip on his swords when he recognized the three men and one woman. All four were wearing black bodysuits with their choice of weapons strapped to their backs or by their sides. He walked up to each of them and embraced them.

"It's been too long, Celso," one of them greeted him.

"It has, Yong," he smiled at his friend. Yong was younger than Celso was by two years. His small, almond-shaped eyes could see anything and his olive colored skin still looked as clear as it did when Celso knew him. His hair still hadn't changed after Celso had left. His jet black hair was still short and stuck up straight, held together by some kind of gel. Yong might not look powerful, or strong enough to take on any kind of demon, but he can sure fight. He was smart enough to get past them without using brute force. "I heard you just graduated."

Yong nodded and smiled proudly. "Yeah, I did! Top of my class!"

"Show off," the man next to Yong huffed while rolling his eyes.

Yong shook his head. "You're just jealous, Jay."

"Sure I am," Jay responded sarcastically. Jay stuck out his hand and pulled Celso in for a hug. Jay was the exact opposite of Yong. Unlike Yong, Jay did everything out of brute force. He had blue eyes, a fair complexion, and bright red hair. Everyone thinks that Jay and Yong don't get along, but in truth they do. They say opposites attract and these two friends were stuck together like glue.

Celso turned to the last man of the group who had his arm wrapped around the shoulder of the woman standing next to him. Celso smiled at both of them. Robby and Coleen had been together ever since they met each other - or as long as Celso had known them. Coleen's black hair and large, brown eyes matched Robby's. Some people might think they were siblings, but they weren't. Robby's body was similar to Jay's while Coleen's was smaller and not as muscular.

Celso always remembered Coleen as the quiet one of the group. She was the watcher over all of them. She could see things that Celso can't and she had helped him in so many ways, he knew he had to call her for help.

"What are we waiting for?" Jay asked impatiently as he bounced on the balls of his feet. "I want to go fight some demons."

Coleen rolled her eyes. "Patience, Jay," she spoke in her soft voice. "We still have to wait for Professor Samson and the girl's brother."

"Why do we have to bring him?" Jay asked. "He can't fight like we can. He'll only get in the way."

"He won't," Celso countered Jay's comment. "He want's his sister to be safe. Derek will do whatever he has to do to make sure that Athena is safe." He stopped when they heard a car drive towards them. Celso sighed gratefully when he recognized the car as Professor Samson's.

The car stopped beside them and Professor Samson and Derek stepped out. They both stopped beside Celso. Celso grabbed Derek's arm and introduced each of them to him.

"It's nice to meet you all," Derek said politely. He looked at Celso and he nodded.

"Alright," Celso clapped his hands together. "Let's go." He looked over at Coleen and motioned for her to start the portal.

She unwrapped Robby's arm from her shoulders and walked past the vehicles and stopped a few feet from them. She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together. Bending down, she placed them in front of her feet. She started mumbling an incantation under her breath.

"What is she doing?" Derek asked quietly in Celso's ear.

"Making the portal," Celso whispered back. "Just watch."

A blue light came out from underneath Coleen's hands. She kept mumbling as the light grew up and into a large circle. Once the light had connected, a silver blue sea filled inside the circle. Coleen stood up and turned towards them.

"All set," she told them as she stepped beside Robby.

"I'll go first," Jay offered. "Just to make sure there's nothing waiting on the other side."

"I'm coming with you," Celso spoke up. He unsheathed his swords and stepped behind Jay. "Robby, take the rear. We'll see you on the other side."

Celso waited for Jay to disappear through the portal before closing his eyes and stepping through. For a moment, his whole body seemed to float and everything became silent. He knew opening his eyes was not a good option for him, but every time he was tempted to look around him. He kept his eyes closed until he felt his body start to fall and land on hard ground.

Groaning, he opened his eyes to see Jay's blue eyes looking over him. Jay held out his hand to help him up and Celso gladly took it. He let him pull him to his feet.

"You always seem to fall hard when you come out of those," Jay commented laughing.

Celso rolled his eyes and swung his arms from side to side. "I always do." He looked around himself and sighed heavily before picking up his swords.

They were finally in the demon's world. Everything looked dry and red. Trees were black and no leaves grew on them. They could see houses far down in the valley.

"She planted us on a cliff," Jay huffed.

"A better option than anywhere else," Celso told him thoughtfully as he turned towards the portal. He watched as Yong came out with Professor Samson following close behind him. After him came Coleen. A long pause came and no one else came through. Celso started to become nervous. He started to wonder what had happened. Many things could happen to people when they go through a portal if not told how.

Celso turned around to look back down at the valley and pinched the bridge of his nose. Finally, he heard the sound of the portal working again. Turning around, he sighed gratefully as Derek fell through and Robby walking out after him. Celso helped Derek to his feet and smiled at him.

"How do you all do that?" Derek asked breathlessly.

Celso shrugged. "We were taught. Let's go get your sister."
