Sunny's POV
Teasing Cole was fun. The fact that I knew he was gay would totally throw him off and he'd be out to the school in no time.
Now you'd might why I want to out some poor kid. The answer is simple. He's made my life Hell and I want to return the favor. When he first got into the school, I was the top student there. Then this little kid shows up and is suddenly better than everyone. He made a fool of me and I want to destroy him. The majority of the school is pretty anti gay, and it would be the perfect way to ruin him. I figured the kid was gay before, but I needed concrete evidence. So I came up with a plan.
Unknown Number: Meet me in the art hallway before school tomorrow.
C: No. I have no interest in knowing who you are.
U: That's a lie, pretty boy. Meet me there. If you're not there, I'll find you myself.
C: Fine. I'll be there.
Cole's POV
I was really scared to see Sunny tomorrow. I was absolutely sure it was him. I called Jonas to comfort me.
"Hey, Jonas?"
"Hey, cutie. Something up?"
"First, don't call me that. Second, Sunny just told me to meet him in the art wing after school tomorrow and I'm scared."
"I'll come with you. I'll help you. I'll hit him if he hurts you."
"No, there's no need for that. I'll be fine. I just want you to comfort me for now."
"I'll be right ove-"
"NO! I-I mean... It's fine. I can come over. It's a total mess here. You wouldn't want to be here. It's horrible," I stuttered. The last thing I wanted was for Jonas to know I lived in an orphanage.
"You sure?" he asked. I mumbled a quick yes and got up from my bed. "Tell me your address again?" I asked as I got my shoes on. As Jonas repeated it to me, I rushed down to the door. "I'm taking the keys!" I call to Selena, in the next room over. I take them from the holder and rush to the car. I don't have a licence, so I really shouldn't be driving, but I look old enough and I doubt I'll get randomly pulled over.
After getting to Jonas's house, I knocked on the door lightly. A tall, gorgeous woman opened it and stared at me. "Who are you?" she asked. "I'm Cole. Is Jonas home?" I said. "Cole! Hey! Kayla, let him in," said Jonas from behind the tall woman. She backed away and closed the door behind me. "Hey," I said softly. "So, Sunny. What happens if he hurts you?" Jonas asked. "I don't know. He... I don't know," I repeated myself. Jonas hugged me. "Are you absolutely sure you don't need me to come with you?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and answered, "Yeah, I can handle it. Just wait for me."
The art wing sounded so much different when there weren't a bunch of high schoolers running through it every second. I walked all the way down to the corner, where I turned and saw Sunny. "Yeah, it's me. Surprised?" he asked. "No. I figured it would be you. I would be surprised if it wasn't," I said. "So, you're gay."
"Yeah, and?"
"I think..." he stepped towards me and put a hand on my shoulder "...that you want to kiss me," he said. I looked away. "You're an idiot. You're a selfish jerk, and..." I trailed off as he stared right into my eyes. He had the power to take my breath away without even trying.
Sunny gave me a warm smile and leaned closer to me. Part of me wanted to kiss him so badly, the other part warned me of danger. "Just one kiss wouldn't hurt, would it?" he asked, leaning over me. "It... It wouldn't," I said, and before I knew it, I told Sunny I liked him.
He laughed for a second. My gut told me something was wrong, that this wasn't going to go well for me. "Well, isn't that sweet? So heartfelt and pure. Too bad for you, though." I froze. Sunny showed me his phone. A new audio recording had just finished. "Sunny... you..." I stopped and stared, horrified. "'You' what? Go on." I reached for his phone, but he held it above my head. Looking up at it, he pressed a few buttons while I continued to jump up for it, to no avail. "And posted. Now everyone in the school will now you're a flaming homo," he said. I looked up at him, absolutely scared, and ran back down the art hall where I ran into Jonas.
As soon as I fell into his arms he asked, "Hey, is everything okay?" and I felt the tears start to escape my eyes. "Sunny knows. The whole school knows."
