Comfort Zone
It all started so good.
I was mesmerized by the beauty of the sea.
I got near as the waves pulled my legs in.
I got on my feet as the sea hugged my knees from behind.
"This is shallow, your height
size."
I could hear the sand underneath mumble, in the spaces in between my tiny toes.
I relaxed allowing the sea to bounce me back and forth.
I closed my eyes as I'm pulled by the strong hands of gravity,
submitting myself into the soothing touch of the soft breeze.
The urge to deny the bliss in that sensation was powerfully irresistible.
I felt the forces tackle my legs as they lay restlessly afloat.
My head hit the rocky wet surface.
Submerging in the sea in a slow pace, that wasn't my place.
I wasn't a swimmer; mine was a bathtub.
Prompted by my lungs, I recoverd from the nightmare
and allowed my mind to sail me back peacefully.
To save my conscience from drowning,
I'll wait until I'm a swimmer and let the sea swing me back and forth.
Appearance is deceiving,
so was the sea I saw.
Until then, I'll safely rock in my see saw.
My comfort zone.
