Day 6: Reuniting/Bookstore/Café
Ok I sorta borrowed the idea from Ellie? Yah. And the first two words are also provided by Ellie
... Looking back on this, it's a little lame.. Sorry. I guess I didn't execute it well yet again..
A word is a powerful thing. Without words, someone has no impact on the world..
Perhaps that's why that guy has a notebook..
It was really quite strange. I had sat down in :re by the window and ordered something, and a few minutes later as Kirishima-San was handing me my coffee, a boy around my age sat down on the opposite end and scribbled something on his notepad. He had a bandana covering his mouth, and it put me on edge..
'A smoothie please, Touka-chan!' he revealed his notepad.
'Touka-chan..' they're close?
"Hide, you do know that someone else is already sitting here?" she handed me my coffee.
He scribbled down more, 'No way, you gave my special spot to someone else?!!' His eyes landed on me as he presented his words. (Apparently he just plopped down on that chair without looking anywhere else in the cafe..)
I, however, was still caught on Kirishima-san's word..
Hide. I.. I knew that name from somewhere..
'Oh, hey. You don't mind if I sit here, do you, man? It's kind of my spot. It's nostalgic.'
I slowly shook my head.
Hide, Hide.. I.. I want to cry when I hear that name..
Why?
'Great! He doesn't mind, so can you bring me a smoothie, Touka-chan?' he scribbled down.
"Fine. What type?"
'Mixed berry!!'
"I'll be right back then," she left the table, and the boy started to stare at me.
'So... how are you doing?' he scribbled and showed me.
"F.. fine.. y-you said that this.. was your seat. Why is that?"
'Like I said, it's a nostalgic place for me.. Touka-chan gets it.'
"Touka-chan again.. you guys are close?"
'Why, you jealous?'
I sputtered, "Wh--No!!"
'Relax, relax, I'm just teasing you. Me and Touka-chan just have a mutual friend, that's all. Well, technically crush, but..'
"You.. You guys have the same.. Love intere.. Are you gay, or is Kirishima-san gay?"
He scribbled down, 'I am a proud Kensexual.'
"... I don't even want to ask. ... So why exactly are you wearing that bandana? If it wasn't so bright-colored and cutesy, I would've thought you were a burgler."
'Really? Me, a burgler? Of what, hearts?' he joked on his notepad.
"No, of cash and other valuables," I shot his joke down, just like that.
'Hmmn~ but I think hearts are much more valuable than simple cash..'
"..." He got me there. "So? Why the mask?"
'I have a scar that others say would give kids nightmares.'
"Oh.. Sorry I asked."
'No, no, it's fine.'
"..." I took a sip of my coffee, still eyeing him. My eyes wandered, and I realized that his shirt was low enough to reveal a scar just below his neck (although to hide the scar, you'd need a turtleneck or something).
I guess he's not lying.. He's a human with scars.
Unless he just recently got those scars. Then he might be a ghoul.. But Kirishima-san seems to trust him, so I suppose he isn't.
'Like what you see?' he waggled his eyebrows suggestively as he showed me his notepad yet again. I sputtered, but before I could defend myself, Kirishima-san was back.
"What have I told you about bothering my customers, Hide? Knock it off," she handed him his smoothie.
'Thanks,' he quickly scritched down before he lifted the cup - not see-through, I noticed - to his bandana and carefully lowered the bandana to drink his beverage.
I couldn't see his face through the cup.
I sipped my own coffee.
"Sorry, Sasaki-san," Kirishima-san said, and I glanced at her with a 'hmn?' through my coffee cup. "He's a good guy, just.." she glared at him, "He can totally put people off with his flirty jokes.."
"Ah.." I took my lips off the cup, "Yeah, he should probably stop joking in such a way.."
That was joking? Seemed awfully serious to me..
"That's what I always tell him," she shook her head with a sigh, "Honestly, if he hadn't fessed up about everything after the incident, I'd still hate him for being so boisterous and loud every time I was near.."
"Pshaw!" he waved her off. (or at least, I think that's what he was trying to say..?) His bandana was back up. I had to say, I think the bandana looked cuter around his neck..
A-Ah.. If he wanted girls to look at him, I mean..
I noticed as he stood up and slapped a gracious amount of cash that he had finished drinking.
He waved as he left.
Kirishima-san watched him go before she grabbed the money off the table and proceeded to count it.
Ah. There's a note, too.. Did he tear that off of his notepad? When?
She looked at me after counting, "He paid for your coffee."
I blinked at her. "What?
