Rainbow thought the cloud would make her feel a little better but it wasn't. It just made her feel worst. She considered going home but she believed her friends might be there to bug her about Dumbbell.
Rainbow really don't like Dumbbell. She doesn't know why he kissed her, but that doesn't mean she liked it. But then why would she feel weird thinking about it.
His lips to her tasted like popcorn which was weird. He remember how his eyes were closed when they kissed and somehow, she found it adorable and sweet.
She blushed thinking of this and shoved her was into the cloud to hide her smile.
"Hey Rainbow Crash." She heard Dumbbell's voice appear next to her and saw the brown Pegasus flying.
"Oh, h-h-hey Dumbbell." She stammered.
He laughed. "You seemed nervous? Funny bump-in earlier huh?"
She nodded and try not to look at him.
"You okay?"
"O-Of course. Why would I be?"
He grinned and decided to stop flying to sit on the same cloud next to her. She blushed of his action and tried to scoot away but he kept scouting closer to her every time she did. She was almost about to fall.
"S-So Dumbbell," she said trying to not be obviously. "I was wondering, why did you kiss me last night?"
"Well, I've.."
"It's another trick you and Hoops planned isn't it? Well just so you know, I'm not falling for it." She looked away closing her eyes thinking she was right.
He made a face but smiled of how silly she was being. "Actually, I was gonna say, I've been meaning to do that all my life."
Her eyes open with her cheeks blushing pink. She finally looked at him and saw he was telling the truth. "Y-You have?"
"Listen, I understand that all our life we've been against each other, competing and making fun of you and Cluttershy..."
"Fluttershy." She corrected him.
"Fluttershy, but that was the only way to hide my feelings to you and everypony."
What was he saying? Rainbow was a little afraid to hear what she thought. But she somehow demanded in her mind to listen.
"I remember when I first saw you." He looked in the sky to remember. "Me and Hoops were playing one-on-one with what his cutie mark was since I didn't have mine. But when we saw you flash through the sky making a rainbow appear, I couldn't help but smile and let the butterflies fly through my stomach."
Rainbow was surprise. For the dirt time in her life, she actually heard him not act so mean. She actually kinda like it.
"I knew there wasn't a future between you and me cause a cool Pegasus like you never go with me. Especially after why I've done to you and Fluttershy." But then he suddenly started to smile of the Pegasus and said "That's why I was wondering if you wanna give me a chance."
Now she was completely lost. One moment they're talking about their childhood and now he's what?
"What do you mean?" She asked.
He smiled. He loves her of how she was confused. "I was wondering if you like to go with on a real date to the grand galloping gala that's happening this Friday?"
Rainbow Dash couldn't help it. Her red face showed how much she feeling. She couldn't believe it. He actually asked her out on a date this time!
"W-W-well.. um... I-I don't know. I mean..." She really didn't know what to say. This feeling in her stomach kept messing up her language.
"It's okay. I get your point. Being Billie all your life. Sorry I ask. See ya." He began to fly away off the cloud.
"Dumbbell!"
He stopped and looked at the mare waiting for her to respond.
"I'll think about it." She smiled.
He smiled back and said "Okay. I'll be waiting for your answer." And he flew back to Cloudsdale.
Rainbow Dash didn't know why she said that. She just let it out without thinking. She's never been on a date before, so she had no clue of what to do. She was a little sad when he got off the cloud and flew away.
How is she gonna respond? Does she really want to go?
She began to think of how it would be. Talking to him, maybe laughing with him, maybe even...
She shook her head and try to get her mind straight. "Come on Rainbow." She said to herself. "This is Dumbbell you're talking about. I mean why..." She just cut off as thought about he was being. So sweet and generous. She couldn't help but smile and decided in her mind, that she wants to go with him.
But why didn't she say that before? And how is she gonna get ready?
But then she knew one pony who can help her.

"Now tell me darling," Rarity said. "How was he acting? Was he like a gentleman?"
"I guess you could say something like that." She said. "He did start to mention how he was a colt and just loved to see me fly through the sky."
"Awwww!"
Rarity seemed to be the only pony Rainbow could ask for an outfit and advice.
She had to change a few times cause Rarity couldn't think of a perfect way to make Rainbow look.
"I say we should give you a magenta gem." Rarity looked at Rainbow's look. "It can match your eyes."
Rainbow Dash was wearing a under outfit that could match her size. It wasn't very comfortable.
"So if this is suppose to go under my outfit, then why would I need gems?" She asked.
Rarity thought about it. "You're right. What was I thinking?" Then she tore it off Rainbow.
"Now just hold very still." She walk to her table and began to draw to make Rainbow's dress. "I'm gonna try a new design."
Rainbow really didn't like to be still, so this won't be easy for her.
"Hey, you don't mind if I can come with you to tell him you decide to go would you?" She asked not looking back at the rainbow Pegasus.
She gasped. She wasn't so sure if it was a good idea. "I don't know Rarity. You might make it awkward with your squealing."
"What?!" She finally looked back at her. "I will so will not scream! Well, I'll try not to. But I just want your date to be perfect."
"Thanks but don't worry. I think I can handle saying yes."
"Can you?"
Without a respond back, Rarity went back to work on the dress for Rainbow.
Rainbow will admit she was a little nervous but also excited. She decided to let Pinkie's word go through her head, nervouscited.
Rarity began to look at the time and gasped. "Oh my ra! We need to go!" Then without giving her a chance to speak, Rarity grabbed Rainbow's hoof and dragged her outside.
"Where are we going?" Se asked moving at all.
"We have to get to the mall before we're too late and it'll close. We need some accessories for your dress!" She said.
"Can't you just wait until tomorrow?"
"They're not open at all this week! We need to--" but seems they stopped talking by bumping into some pony. They looked up and Rainbow Dash grew red cheeks seeing him again.
"Hey again." Dumbbell said helping the mares up.
"Uh, hey." She looked away trying to hide her cheeks.
Rarity couldn't help but squeal. But then she cleared her throat an said calmly "I'll give you both a moment. I'll be in the mall if you need me." Then she walked away leaving the two Pegasus alone.
"So uh, hey, about the Gala this Friday... I've decided..." she was so nervous to say this.
He waited but she didn't exactly responded quick enough. But she also look like she was in pain. "You okay?"
"Yes!"
He was honestly confuse.
"What?"
She shook her head getting her facts straight. "I mean, yes that I'm okay, and yes, I would love to go to the gala with ya."
He was so surprised by her word and how cute she looked when she blush, he couldn't help but do the same thing. He didn't think she'd ever say yes.
"Well, uh great! I'll uh, pick you up at six thirty?"
"Six thirty sounds good." She smiled back.
"Great! I'll see you then." He walked backwards but accidentally bumped into some pony by accident and blushed of embarrassment.
Rainbow began to think he was kinda cute this way.
But her red cheeks were finally gone with Rarity jumped on we and screamed with joy "I any believe it! You actually did insanely well! Except when you said yes twice but it was amazing Rainbow Dash! I'M SO EXCITED YOU GOT A DATE!"
It was so loud from Rarity, Ponyville was daring at her being so happy. She blushed a little embarrassed and cleared throat. "I mean, I'm thrilled for you."
Rainbow Dash laughed and said "Good to know."
"Now let's get moving!" Then Rarity began to carry the Pegasus to mall to make her dress.
Rainbow will admit to herself, she would have squeal or scream in joy too. She was afraid he would already go with some pony else. Luckily he didn't yet.
She wished she could sing her wart out as it fluttered.
