Chapter 15: Fear

"Mommy!" I yelled as I jumped onto my mother, squeezing her as she put down her bags. She laughed as she picked me up and spun me around.

"Ah, my love, how was your day." She asked as she booped my nose.

"Fun! I learned the abc's!"

My mother simply smiled as she set me down, I was 5 at the time, and back then there was so much that I didn't understand, so much that I looked past, I wish I could go back and undo it all.

"Let's make some dinner before daddy comes home, yeah?"

I smiled as I walked behind her towards the kitchen. My mother put up her blonde hair and put up her hair, she hummed as she began to cut some carrots. I copied her exact moves and tried to help her cut the carrots, but my elbow slipped and knocked over the cutting board, knocking all of the carrots that my mother cut onto the floor. My eyes widened as I looked at my mother's face for signs of anger. My parents were loving and nice, but work stressed them, so at times ager would be taken out on me, either by words or a simple slap, nothing major, but I always looked past it, not caring if I was hit, I would later replace that with a happier moment, making myself believe that I had the perfect parents and a happy life. My mother looked at me.

"Mira." She mumbled.

"I-i'm sorry, mommy." I said as I took a step back. She said nothing as she walked over and slowly bent down to pick up the carrots she placed them in the garbage before washing her hands, she dried them and sighed as she slammed the towel down, causing me to jump back a bit.

"Mommy!"

My eyes widened in fear as she took walked up to me and grabbed me by my hair, I let out a little shriek as she lifted me up.

"Why's you have to go and make a mess, sweetie?"

I only whimpered as I clasped my small hands upon hers.

"I was having a great day, then you had to go and ruin it."

"I'm sorry mommy!"

She let me go and I fell to the floor and let out a soft cry as I held my head in pain. My mother sighed as she bent down and placed her finger under my chin, making me look up at her. She smiled as she cupped my cheek with her other hand.

"Oh, Mira, baby. Mommy's sorry, I just had a rough day okay? Mommy's just tired, okay?"

I sniffled as I shook my head and smiled.

"It's okay mommy, I love you!"
I hugged her tight and we sat there embracing eachother.

That's how it always went.

Is this what you wanted from me!

Are you happy! Are you proud of yourselfs!

Look what I've become!

The shit I had to endure!

I sat there as I watched over my sleeping body. My friends sleeping along side me. Only causing a smile to come to my face as I single tear ran down my face.

Don't worry.....I'm coming home.

They all sat awake looking over at their friend, when the noticed something on her face. They all peered at her and noticed that it was a tear. A single tear that ran down her face. She was crying, and it brought great sadness over the group. 1 week. 1 week has passed and she still wasn't up. The doctor said that she should've been up by now, but that simply wasn't the case. The door opened and they all looked up to see the doctor walk in.

"We've run some test on Ms. Hisaki, and she is in a mild comma, but she should've woken up by now."

"Then why hasn't she?" Nishki asked.

"Well, we don't really know yet, but what we do know is that she is trying to wake up."

"What do you mean?" Touka asked.

"Well, when your in a comma, your councious is still there, you can still hear the people around you. All I can see is that it will take some time, we just need to be patient."

They all nodded their heads and watched as he left the room.

"How could she've fallen into a comma?" Irima whispered as rubbed her face.

"We just have to be patient." Yoshimura said. Uta and Tsukiyama left, but they would come in at times to check on the girl that they grew fond of. All they wanted was for her to wake up, and soon.

Crash!

I looked up from my spot in the corner, shivering as I cried.

"I'm sorry daddy!"

My father threw another plate in my direction, but I ducked my head and watched as it shattered above my head, causing me to scream as I chunk of glass priced my arm.

"I'm sorry." I whimpered.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"

I slowly looked up, only to see a knife whiz past my ear, cutting my ear in the process. I screamed as I pushed myself to the floor and tried to crawl away. He grabber me by my foot and dragged me away. At the end of the night my eye was bruised and my ear had a cut and I got stitches in my left arm, once my father was done cleaning me, he said that he didn't mean it and that he was just irritated with work, and I forgave him.

"It's okay daddy, I know that you didn't mean it." I smiled as he tucked me in and kissed me goodnight.

My teacher asked me about my eye, but I smiled and simply said that I ran into a door and she bought it. At times I would scream inside my head, hoping that they would see past my fake smiles, but that was never the case. I loved my parents. And to this day I only have 'good' memories of them. The darkness consumed as I sat in the dark corner and cried.

I tripped my feet as I countined to run down the streets, trying to find the hospital that held Mira. Finally I saw the huge white building come into view, I pushed myself foreward. I ran threw the doors and up the counter. I panted as the nurse looked at me questioningly.

"Can I help you, sir?"

"I'm here to visit someone." I panted.

"Patients name?"

"Uh, Mira Hisaki."

"I'm sorry, but noone else is aloud in Ms. Hisaki's room."

"But I need to be there!" Come on, there has to be a way I can see her!?"

"I'm sorry sir, but I'm gonna ask you to leave, we're not taking any more visitors for Ms. Hisaki."

I groaned as I slammed head onto the counter.

"Oi, quite that."

I looked up to see none other then Nishio, my face lit up. But I was still weary around him after that incident we had a while ago.

"Oi. Nagachika, you coming or not."

"Right." I said as I walked after him.

"Sir, Ms. Hisaki's room is full!" The nurse called out.

"He's her boyfriend." Nishio said. My face reddened as we walked down the halls. Silence filling the air.

"How is she?" I asked.

He was quite before he answered.

"She's in a mild comma."

I froze and stopped moving. I looked down as I clenched my fist.

"Oi. You okay?"

'Oh, uh, yeah, I'm good."

He only nodded and we countined to walk down the hall. We finally stopped at a door.

"Just don't say anything." He said simply before opening the door. I walked in and widened when I saw the Anteiku workers sitting in the room, including the little girl who's always there. They all looked at me for a moment before looking back at Mira. I looked over and clenched my teeth as I saw her lying motionless on the hospital bed. Tubes running out of her nose and stuck in her arms. The breathing mask on her face, it made me mad to see her in this condition. I said nothing as I walked over and sat down by her bed, grabbing her hand into mine and squeezing it. A light tear ran down my cheek.

"I'm sorry, Mira. I'm so sorry." I whispered.

Please just wake up.
