~2~
Peter ran.
And ran.
And ran.
And ran.
Until he couldn't run anymore. He reached a small alleyway and collapsed to the ground, panting. He sat his back up against the brick wall and a few tears slid down his face.
He couldn't help but think of Tony, and how sorry he was for leaving. Wait- no he wasn't sorry! He was mad! Tony had no right to yell at him that way! This was all Tony's fault, not his!
Peter wouldn't blame himself. Not anymore. He blamed himself for everything. The ferry, the vulture incident, small robberies he failed to stop, Aunt May's death...
Peter loved Tony, but he was mad at him. He's been on his own before, he'd be fine for awhile. Just long enough for him and Tony to cool down. Then Peter would go back.
Unless, what if Tony didn't want him back!? He yelled at him. Peter Parker, the poor nerdy little high school kid, yelled at the Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.
As Tony would say, he screwed the pooch, again, and Peter wasn't sure how he could come back from this one.
He sighed and began to cry as he remembered what felt like so long ago, when Tony Stark unofficially adopted him...
(This is a flashback but I don't like writing in all italics so I'll let you know when it ends. Flashback Go!)
Peter Parker stood on the doorstep of Avengers Tower. Tony had some sort of surprise for him he had said when he texted the boy a few hours earlier.
So there Peter stood, waiting for his mentor to come and get him for whatever crazy surprise Tony had planned for him. And knowing this was Tony Stark, it could be literally anything.
Suddenly, the elevator doors opened and out walked Tony with a smug grin on his face. Peter rolled his eyes.
"Hey Tony, what's up?" Peter asked.
"Oh nothing much kid... just need you to put this blindfold on." Tony replied. Peter sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Mr. Stark, if you're trying to test my Spidey senses again by throwing things at me while I'm blindfolded, I'm telling you it's not gonna work."
Now Tony rolled his eyes.
"No kid it's not that again, and enough with this Mr. Stark crap! I thought I got you out of that."
Peter snickered.
"I know, but it bothers you so I like to do it."
Tony rolled his eyes again and shoved the blindfold into Peter's hands. Peter placed it over his eyes and lost all sight.
"Tony I can't see a thing!" Peter exclaimed. Tony sighed.
"That's the point of a blindfold kid."
Tony carefully led Peter up to the guest room that Peter stayed in whenever he slept over at the tower.
Only this time, the room was not a guest room. The walls were painted a nice blue, with red accents all around the room. There was an oak wood king sized bed, with a Spiderman blanket on top. The closet was filled with clothes Peter liked and a pair of Ironman pj pants were laid out on the bed.
On the wall above the bed, Peter's name was carved out with detailed web designs on the letters. Tony stepped back.
"Okay Pete, open up!" He said. Peter took the blindfold off and gasped when he saw the lovely room he stood in.
Tony smiled widely and happily and he threw his arms out. "Ta Da!!!"
Peter's mouth hung open.
"W-Wow, Tony... thank you..." Peter said shyly. Tony walked over and gave the kid a big hug.
"Peter, I want you to move in, permanently. You're basically my son and I think you should live here with me. I love you Peter."
Peter had tears of happiness in his eyes. The apartment was very lonely without May. He smiled and hugged Tony back.
"Thank you so much! I love you too... dad..."
(Okay that's the end of the emotional happy flashback! Time to get back to sad Peter!)
Peter cried as he sat in the alleyway, thinking about that wonderful memory. The first day he called Tony dad. One of the best days of his life. That all seemed so far away now.
As it began to rain, Peter shivered with cold. All he had on was a thin sweatshirt and some trousers. He was freezing. Spiders don't do well in the cold anyways. He shivered and shivered as he couldn't help but think of how he would survive out in the cold.
Suddenly he saw a tall figure appear in front of him at the head of the alleyway. Peter shrunk down as much as possible. He didn't bring his suit with him so he couldn't fight back if this guy tried to mug him. Not like he had anything for the guy to take.
The man stepped closer and leaned down to Peter. He looked at Peter with a worried expression and said.
"You alright there kid?"
Yep I know it's short. Like really short. This was more of just an explanation chapter. Don't worry, next chapter will be more interesting. Also just to explain, this story is from Peter's perspective but it's in third person. So basically, I won't be focusing too much on what's happening at the tower unless it's really important to the chapter. It's just more or so focused on where Peter is and what he is doing. Thanks for reading!!
