. flashback .

Days after, Shoto was finally free from his father's grasp.

Five days of forced isolation and in those five days did the flames of hatred for his father grew stronger.

He hated him so badly for not letting him see you.

Most especially for rejecting you as his lover—and it fuled more to his anger regarding the fact that Endeavor would decide who is best for him to be in a relationship with; to which Shoto immediately shut down.

The one thing that stayed with him. His ray of light ever since the beginning. You.

He wanted to hug you close to his body and never let go.

It was a Monday and oh he tried so badly to keep his cool.

The giddy boy just couldn't wait to see the H/C hair locks of the girl he fell in love with.

That was when he suddendly felt arms wrap themselves around his body from the back.

"Morning Sho!" You tender voice that he missed so much pleasantly resonated his ears.

He couldn't help it. His lips cruved upwards, a happy and beautiful smile portrayed.

Your boyfriend turned around to hug you back.

The boy let himself relax having your frame in his arms while you closed your eyes, taking your time to enjoy the warmth he gave.

Because this wouldn't last long...

Hours passed, you both spent time during lunch, text during free periods or meeting up with each other through toilet excuses.

Until dismissal came.

Your heart pounded loudly to the point you felt it's thumping and drumming from all over your body.

"L/N-san? You alright?" One of your classmates snapped you back to reality.

Nervousness in you, you stammered. "Yes..! Of course."

Then you bid farewell to your classmates as it would be the last time you would, hugging your closest friends while trying not to let a tear drop.

After that, you quickly met up with Shoto.

Seeing his two-toned hair, you smiled to yourself and quickly jogged to him.

"Y/N." He immediately notices you.

You giggled. "You sound happy."

Shoto scratches his neck, flustered so he looked away.

"I haven't seen you in five days.. It's normal for me to be like this.."

"But we're going on a date anyways!" You clasped both of your hands together.

Shoto smiles and his eyes softens. "Yeah. Oh, let me carry your bag for you."

"No need!" You rejected, raising your arms to form an x mark.

"Didn't ask, love." He shrugs and stole your school bag before sliding it to join his school bag on his arm.

And the moment you were about to detest, he quickly grabbed your hand and suddendly kissed you on the lips.

Your eyes widen, cheeks fumed pink after he unlocked his lips from yours.

"Y-you.."

He smirked and adorably booped his nose onto yours.

"My bad."

You laughed while blushing as well before intertwining your hands with your lover's.

After spending quite the very enjoyable and sweet moments with him, the sun began to set.

As usual, your boyfriend escorted you back home.

But on the way there, he noticed how you'd stare in daze into the sunset or at his face.

Normally, it wouldn't bother him. But he noticed the sadness in your face and eyes.

And he didn't like it all.

So as soon as your hand left his, Shoto felt... something was wrong.

It was weird. He suddenly felt too cold. Did the temperature increasingly drop?

You took your bag from him and headed to your house before turning to look at him.

"Thank you for today Sho, I really had fun. Stay safe." You plastered a smile.

Will you not ask him to text you like you'd normally do? Was what he thought.

"Of course. Let's do it again." He wholeheartedly returned the smile.

Your heart ached in pain before managing to croak out, "Only if you win against me in a hide and seek?"

"Ah, the game we'd always play? But you have a winning streak. I never win."

You chuckled and looked away. "Well, this time I sure hope you can break my streak."

"I will. Just you wait."

You looked back to his mismatched eyes. "Yeah... I'll wait, no matter how long. Until then, I'll reward you with a date like we just did, yeah?"

"That's a promise." He says with a smile while you nodded in agreement with the promise.

"Goodbye Sho, I love you."

. . .

That was 8 years ago.

Shoto woke up, feeling sunlight hit his face.

The memory that haunted him for 8 years took it's appearance once again.

It squeezed his heart in an ever so agonizing pain.

No matter how many times he'd witness it, tears would always make it's way to prick his eyes.

He lets out a shaky sigh and turned to his side grabbing a pillow to hug deeply wishing it was you.

And since he did turn to his side, his eyes landed on your a picture frame with you in it.

"Why did I fail to notice that you wouldn't say goodbye.." He mumbles as a tear silently rolled down.

. . .

"Maaaa..! I wanna visit the arcade shop.." Shoma cutely whines and pouts.

You laughed at your 8-year-old son before scooping him up in your arms to carry the youngest to which he'd nuzzle his head on your shoulder lovingly as he loved it when he's carried like this.

"Aww, sure you can. Shoichi! Would you mind going with your brother to the arcade?"

It was a Sunday and it was no doubt that it isn't unusual when he'd ask to visit the shop since Shoma would always do so.

The older twin who was at the living room smiles.

"Sure. I need to check out school supplies amd visit the library as well so we might be a bit late ma."

You nodded and put down Shoma. "Alright. But be back before the sun sets."

"Okay~ Woop!" Shoma pumps his fist onto the air.

. . .

See, they wouldn't usually this since you have nature as your spy everywhere.

But the wind motivated them as it purposefully sent an ad of their father's official action figure and a newspaper with Shoto's name as their headline.

Making them conclude that the wind wanted to take part in the mission to let both you and Shoto meet again.

To which they were right.

Although they can't communicate with nature, they had lots of playtime with it so the elements fairly knew of your twins.

So then their mission began.

"SIR SHOTO! YOU FORGOT TO GIVE ME MY OFFICIAL ACTION FIGURE!" Shoma shamelessly shouted in front of the building catching a few stares.

"Oi Shoma. We're just for the action figure, okay?"

The younger twin eagerly nodded.

Shoto from up above, gazed at the twins down below.

Sure he wasn't able to hear the shout, but he had already noticed them standing in front his building.

So he lightly smirks.

It felt like he was a step closer to the truth. And he couldn't just let it go.

Not until he'd know their mother's name.

A worker knocked by the door and told the issue henceforth did the man grab the opportunity to talk to them again.

The twins waited inside his agency's longue, drinking free beverages.

"Shoma and Shoichi am I correct?"

A deep tone called their names so they turned to their side and looked up to see their father.

Both eyes couldn't help but twinkle in delight having to see their father in front of them again.

"Would you like to proceed to my office?"

Shoichi shook his head sideways. "No thank you. We only came for the action figure."

Shoto sat on the sofa across them. "Of course. My worker will bring a few for you to choose in a moment."

"Thank you!!" Shoma brightly grinned in gratitude.

"While waiting, may I ask questions first?"

Shoichi narrowed his heteromatich eyes.

"What's in it for us? After all, my younger brother already made a bargain to have you help him yesterday in exchange for the action figure."

Shoto rose a brow.

Seems like the child really is a prodigy based on the data he collected.

But the man knew he'd hit two birds in one stone in this one.

"Shopping. I'll give you each ¥20,500 to buy anything and anywhere that doesn't go beyond that limit."

The twins widened their eyes as their mouths dropped open in shock.

This was what he meant by hitting two birds in one stone.

First, he could ask questions.

Second, he could spend more time with the suspicious boys to learn more about their character and in hopes to find a clue or lead.

Money...

'We could help mom save!' Shoichi thinks, although knowing the consequence of answering the questions.

He looked on his side to see his his brother drooling.

Shoto silently chuckled by the sight.

'Reminds me of Y/N..'  Wait. Did he thought of you again?

He really have gone insane.

Shoichi sighs. "Fine. But in three conditions! One, we won't be entirely honest. Second, only three questions! Third, we will only reply once and never again in each question."

The way how agitated and careful they reacted already gave an impression to the hero.

"With those conditions, I'd have to reduce ¥20,500 to ¥20,00."

Shoma gasped, looking insulted.

While Shoichi simply replied, "That's more than enough."

"Then let's start. Where do you live?"

"In a forest." The older one answered bluntly.

Shoto frowns at the answer but continues.

"Your mother's name?"

"That's going too far. Now you're asking for our mother's name? We haven't done anything wrong and we aren't lost so there's no reason for you to know." Shoichi scowled.

"This is a deal- so a question remains a question."

Shoichi furrowed his eyebrows. "Fine. Then deduct our money."

"Eh?! Shoichiiiii!!" The other twin lunged to hug his brother's arm and cries.

"We get to combine it anyways, its fine." His older brother caresses his baby brother's head.

Shoto's eyes softened at the sight, unknown that deep within him, he too wanted to try and caress the younger male.

"Then ¥10,500. Last question, when were you born?"

"February 1, XXXX."

'8 years from the year I last saw her and 9 months from the month I last saw her too.' Shoto thought to himself.

. . .

Usually the twins wouldn't be as shameless as accepting money from other people.

But after all, Shoto is their father.

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO GO FIRST, WE SHOULD GO VISIT THE- OWW!"

Shoichi hit his brother's head making Shoma yell out in pain.

"Stop yelling, idiot!"

"Mean! I'm telling mom!" He stuck out his tongue.

The two bickered around while walking around the mall with their father following behind them.

He brought along some of his subbordinates in their hero suites as well to avoid rumors to spread.

Shoichi sucked the lollipop he had put in his mouth while tucking both of his hands in his pockets.

"Oi, we're spending the money buying groceries and gifts for mom. If you want to play games, then it better be something small."

"Got it big brother! Is that all?"

"Yeah."

Shoma grins in a devilishly way and turns around before skipping towards his father.

The hero rose a brow in confusion before his eyes widened when he felt his hand being grabbed by smaller ones.

"Sir! Let's play arcade!"
