After that long period of reminiscing you, Shoto decided to look for ease.

And by that, he means visiting his mother.

Come to think of it, you were also the reason why he made up with his mom during highschool.

You gave him support, courage and a reason to talk with her again.

And for that, he would forever be grateful to you.

Driving to the hospital where his mom is in, he parked his car in a place where no one would really notice him leave his vehicle.

(A/N: As for now, because the manga isn't complete, I'll stick with the fact that Rei still stays at the hospital until further updates:))

He then entered the building with a bouquet of flowers that he would always bring for his mother.

Knocking by the room's door, it took only a few moments for him to hear his mother's soft voice.

Opening the door, his lips curved upwards by the sight of Todoroki Rei, his mother.

"Shoto, make yourself comfortable." She smiled dearly.

"Thank you mother. How have you been? I brought you your favorite flowers."

He replied. And when he was about to exchange the flowers of her vase- which what he thought was rotting- he paused seeing brand new ones.

The flowers still looked fresh as if someone exchanged the rotten ones.

"Did father or any of my siblings came by too? They should've told me."

"Sadly, no. Birds brought me these lovely flowers just this early morning." She softly laughs.

"What?"

"Y/N. She gave me these flowers. They're called Lillies!" Rei happily showed the flowers you gave.

The mention of your name sent palpitations to his heart as he prevented his blood from slowly rising to his cheeks.

"I-I see." His voice cracked.

Mentally cursing out his stutter, his mom simply smiled.

"I haven't seen her in such a long time. When will you bring her to me again?"

Ah, this was the problem.

He knew his mother was deeply fond of you and he was happy to know so.

But with that in mind, if he'd tell his mom you disappeared, he was sure her mood would drop.

Especially when her recovery for her mental health is almost fully done.

Shoto then said, "It's nice to know that she gave such beautiful flowers. Do you like this kind as well?"

"Oh that! She told me their name and meaning-"

"Wait what?" He unintentionally cut off his mother.

"Ah, well... " Then she sighed. "I just can't lie to my own son.. Well, dear L/N visited me this morning."

The reply made his breath hitch.

"Although, birds did gave them to me before she came in, surprising me. I was supposed to keep it a secret from you since she told me not to tell you. I'm so sorry Shoto."

Rei wore a guilty face as she rests her hands on top of her son's.

Shoto really didn't know how to react.

Why? When did it happen? How was he able to let this slide?

Mixture of emotions swelled in him.

He tried his very best to keep his already ragged breath into a steady one.

"Shoto! Are you alright?" Rei began to worry.

That was when he snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the concerned face of his mom's.

"Don't worry mom. I'm fine." He says with a reassuring smile.

'Maybe she's still around the area if I'm fast. She couldn't have disappeared right away.'

"Mom, I need to go somewhere."

"Hm? Off to L/N?"

That was when he smiled. "Yeah... We're playing hide and seek."

"Check all the surveillance cameras. Round up the area and ask anyone if they saw her. Particularly the street vendors and train stations."

Shoto swiftly gave instructions to his subbordinates over the line as he drove his car.

"And don't let anyone out of sight. Track records and make sure to check the ones who have disguises."

It goes without a saying that he'd unintentionally capture villains through this method too.

Who would have knew that his desperate act of finding and hopefully cornering you would actually lead to such an effective technique of capturing villains.

At least in this way, not only is he able to find bad guys but also having the possibility of finding you.

He then continue to roam around the area while listening to any reports of his second-in-command.

While doing so, bad timing eventually appeared.

"Sir! Detected villain the area-"

"I know." He grunts. "I'll deal with it. Send in the group with the most capability of evacuating and helping the civilians while the others continue with the search. Don't forget to report other agencies of this occurrence."

Ending the call, he leaves his car, not bothering to change into his hero suit.

Seeing the gigantic villain on loose, he clicked his tongue in annoyance. There were too much destructions.

What a bother... I'll end you as quickly as I can so stay put."

And so he launches his icicles to destroy any of the possible exits for the large villain to take.

Letting out a wild scream of anger, it threw an attack in which Shoto managed to dodge before letting out his flames to at least hit a critical damage.

And when it did, the villain let out a shriek.

"Shut up." He mumbles.

Until he prepared to launch his final attack which was the same ice that he used to trap Sero when he was at highschool during the School Festival.

And when he was about to do so, only then did a child came to interrupt.

"My toy!" The boy reached out, paying attention to his RC car.

Shoto was caught off guard.

And the fact that he already launched the ice towards the wrong direction made it worse.

Because of this, it gave the villain a chance to counter as he hits Shoto, throwing him to his own boundary of ice.

'Tsk. I used most of my energy into that attack.' He gritted his teeth in pain.

That was when he realized the position he was in.

He and the villain exchanged places.

Now this time, the hero was cornered by his own ice barrier.

"Shit."

Trying to stand up while wincing in pain, the villain threw large boulders and broken walls towards his direction.

Just when he was about to be squashed, he felt his whole body go light.

"What..?" His voice trailed away when he felt his body go upwards.

Heavy gusts of wind managed to lift up the dual-haired man.

"Wind." His eyes widen. "Y/N..?"

From up above, he tried to look around the area.

Until he felt pain in his guts so he looked down to see blood.

"I need to finish this quick."

Even though he was already tired as hell from unleashing the big ass forge, with all his might did he ignite the brightest and largest of flames unto the monster from below.

(A/N: So sorry for the poorly written scene. I'm not fond of writing battle or action ones:c )

When his opponent dropped unconscious to the ground, only then did the wind gently put him down too.

"You have to be serious." He laid down, as blood was gushing out of his wound.

He didn't have the time to be laying pitiful and powerless on the ground.

Trying to stand up, he only ended up dropping to his knees again

His breathing was haggard as he started to feel the after effects of his quirk.

In a few minutes of time did his eyelids begin to go heavy.

"No... I mustn't... I need to find her..." His voice started to go away.

'Stay awake damn it. Stay.. awake..' Even his own thought begin to fail him.

"Y/N..." You name was the last that he mumbled before falling into a deep slumber.

But before he completely did, he noticed the feeling of warmth gently caressed his cheek.

He didn't know if it was a dream or not, but... he felt as if he heard his name from your lips.

"Shoto. You did well, my love."
