Chapter 5: "I'll have to talk to myself about it."
"We're throwing a party?" Setsuko asked, looking at the other hosts.
Currently she was sitting in the club room for what she had been hoping for a nap but ended up sitting in on one of the club meetings. Most of the other hosts were there other than Haruhi, as she said she needed to get some research done in the library.
"Yes. We rented out one of the grand halls for next week. We're planning for a rather casual party as opposed to an upscale one." Kyoya said. "Unfortunately, the entertainment we had planned had to cancel because the lead singer got sick, so we're down a performer." He glanced over at Setsuko and she let out a quiet sigh.
"Let me guess, you want me to ask my dad if I can get one of the idols he manages to perform." She said, resting her head on the back of her hand. "I'll see what I can do."
"Wait, Itsu-chan, doesn't your dad manage Momo-chan? Do you think you could get her?" Honey asked, looking over at Setsuko with a hopeful look and flowers surrounding his face.
Oh yeah, he asked Momoko the same thing. Setsuko thought, thinking back to the handshake event before a certain capped man flashed in her head and she felt a chill run up her spine. Seeing that everyone was looking at her she cleared her throat. "Are you sure you want Momoko? This party is still pretty formal, right?"
Kyoya glanced towards her, "Some of her earlier songs would fit the theme of the party. I believe Momoko would be a great fit, if you can get her to agree, of course."
Setsuko sighed, "I'm not sure. My dad said Momoko's not taking too many new bookings recently."
"Really?" Honey said, the hope on his face falling.
Setsuko bit her lip and she looked around the table, the twins were staring at her with wide eyes, Tamaki looked downcast, Kyoya was just typing something up on his laptop, and Mori, strangely enough, looked somewhat downcast as well. She let out a sigh and ran a hand through her bangs. "She might make an exception. I'll see what I can do."
The sad look on Honey's face disappeared and the flowers came back at full force. "Thank you, Itsu-chan! Takashi, hear that, Momo-chan's going to perform at our event! Isn't that exciting?"
"Yeah."
"Hey, wait, I never said-" Setsuko started, but was ignored as Honey spun around the room and cheered. She sighed when she realized she wasn't getting out of this, "Fine, I'll work something out but there will be conditions."
"I'm sure we can figure something out." Kyoya said, looking over at Setsuko with a grin on his face.
"I'd better get some time to nap during club hours for this." She said, matching Kyoya's gaze with a tired one of her own.

"Absolutely not."
"It's just one extra night." That evening Setsuko had approached her manager with the question of Momoko performing at the host club's event. And as she expected he was completely against
Kuwata shook his head and placed his hands on Setsuko's shoulders. "What if someone finds out about you? What if he finds out?"
She felt a chill run through her as she thought who her manager was referencing. But shook her head, "Kuwara, let me do this. They'll agree to some conditions if I perform so we can ask for extra security, plus my name doesn't have to be public until I actually perform."
Kuwata looked at her and sighed, "Fine, but only if they agree to those conditions. Your safety is top priority here."
"I know. And I'll do everything I can to ensure my own safety. You don't have to worry about me."
Kuwata looked down at her and placed a hand on her head, ruffling her hair. "I can't help it. It's just what managers do." Setsuko looked up at him and saw a fond look in his eyes, "Now it's late, go get ready for bed."
"Yes, sir." Setsuko said with a grin as she turned and started to run up the main staircase.
"And I mean get to bed, I know how late you've been staying up at night." He called up behind her.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever!"

The next day after school Setsuko was sitting in the club room entertaining more girls. She seemed to be busier than when she first started out- word must have gotten around about her.
"Hey, Itsu-chan!" A voice called and Setsuko looked over to see Honey running up to where she was sitting with Usa-chan in hand.
Setsuko gave the small boy a tired smile, "Need something?"
"I need you to hold Usa-chan for a second!" He held the stuffed rabbit towards Setsuko.
"Uh, sure." She grabbed the rabbit from him and hugged it close to her chest, watching as Honey grinned up at her before running off to his own table, where he indulged himself in some cake as he talked with some of the girls who had requested him.
"Oh my." One of the girl's said, brining Setsuko's attention back to the three sitting in front of her.
"You look so cute holding that bunny, senpai!"
"I'm glad you think so, ladies." Setsuko said, resting her head on the bunny's head. She had to admit it was rather plush and comfortable to hold. The girls squealed as she rested her head and started rambling on about how cute she was. Suddenly a thought struck her, Honey did this on purpose, didn't he? She glanced back towards the blond-haired boy who was still laughing and acting childlike with the girls, but for a second, he looked over at her and smiled. He might look like an innocent kid, but Honey was truly a genius. It was almost frightening.
By the end of club hours, Honey came back for Usa-chan and hopped away to say goodbye to the girls as they were leaving, and once they all left all the hosts started to clean up from the event. Setsuko had decided to help Haruhi with taking the leftover sweets to the trash, a shameful waste but according to Kyoya serving day old cake would only harm the club's reputation.
"So, how're you faring with the club, Itsuki-senpai?" Haruhi asked as the two of them collected some more sweets from one of the tables.
"It's taken a bit to get used to everything if I'm being honest." Setsuko answered, then let out a soft chuckle, "But I'm getting used to it. It's not like I had much of a choice."
Haruhi let out a small laugh as well, "Yeah, I understand how you feel. I didn't have much of a choice either."
"That reminds me, how did you join the club? You don't really seem to be one to go for these kinds of things. No offence."
"None taken. In all honesty it's to repay a dept I owe to the club. On my first day here, I ended up breaking an eight-million-yen vase, and since I can't really repay that myself the club agreed to let me pay it off by being a host."
"Sounds tiring."
"You don't even know the half of it." Haruhi sighed.
"Well, if you ever need someone to sit and talk with, hit me up. Though I can't guarantee that I'll be able to stay awake." She placed an empty tray down on a countertop to be washed before yawning.
"Are you getting a proper amount of sleep, senpai?"
"Is anyone these days?" Setsuko sighed before seeing the look of concern on Haruhi's face and nervously clearing her throat. "I'm getting as much sleep as I can with the schedule I have, don't worry too much about me."
Haruhi rose one of his eyebrows as he looked at Setsuko before he let out a slight sigh, "Alright, if you say so senpai."
Setsuko smiled slightly before she headed back out to the main area to grab some more plates, but as she did so she heard someone call out to her.
"Mr. Kuwata, come here for a second." Kyoya said from where he was standing near the windows, watching as Setsuko walked over to him. "I wanted to know if there were any updates on the entertainment for our event."
"I thought that's what this would be about. Yeah, I managed to get her to agree, though on certain conditions."
"And those would be?"
"One, increase security around the party, only students currently attending Ouran are allowed in. Two, don't announce her name to the public until she performs. Oh, and my dad wants me to help out backstage."
"Those both seem reasonable. Very well, we'll agree to Momoko's conditions. It will be our pleasure to have her perform."
"Yeah, yeah, I better get to sleep through the next meeting we have for doing this." Setsuko said as she started walking away to help with the rest of the clean-up.
Kyoya just chuckled and wrote something down in his notebook.

"So, it's a tropical theme today?" Setsuko said as she looked around at all the trees surrounding them. Leaning forwards, she looked down at a gecko that was sitting on a leaf entirely expecting it to be fake when it moved its eye and looked directly at her, making her recoil in shock. She should have expected that they would import live animals for this.
"Showing a little skin will get the ladies more excited!" Tamaki exclaimed, sparkles surrounding him as he struck his usual pose. "Now, change into your costume my dear Itsuki! We can't leave the ladies waiting."
"As far as I'm aware we still have half an hour left until the girls arrive? Can't I take a short nap first?"
"A nap is unneeded; I think someone is owed some time to sleep during club hours as a thanks for what he did for the club's party." Kyoya said, a small smile on his face as he looked towards
Setsuko looked at Kyoya with wide, sparkling eyes. "Wait really? What about my clients?"
"I believe there will be some girls who would love to watch you sleep, so I don't think that will be much of an issue."
"Creepy, but I'll take it."
"Once you get changed find some place comfortable and you're allowed to stay there and sleep until club hours are over."
"Kyoya, you have no idea how happy I am right now. I could kiss you." Setsuko said.
"I'd rather you hold off on doing that and get in costume. You're cutting into your precious sleeping time."
"Yeah, yeah." Setsuko said, waving her hands dismissively before grabbing a bag of clothes and walking back to the changing rooms to change into her costume.
The outfit was extremely comfortable, as if it were designed for her to sleep in. It was like the other tropical wear the others in but instead of a sash or being shirtless she had a white vest with burgundy sides and was tied shut with golden chains. It dropped all the way down to just above her belly button, fully covering her binder leaving no evidence that it was there, almost as if the designer knew of her predicament... no, that's impossible there was no way anyone knew. Her pants consisted of a burgundy color with golden detailing swirling down one leg and hung loosely around her knees only to wrap tightly around her ankles. The last piece of her costume were two identical golden ringlets that went around her biceps. Moving around the costume shifted around her body, the soft material brushing against her skin a guaranteeing it to be a comfortable outfit to nap in.
She stepped out of the dressing room, adjusting one of the ringlets around her bicep. Looking up she noticed a costume on a mannequin nearby that looked to be a pair for Tamaki's costume. Thinking about it, the only person who hasn't arrived yet was Haruhi, so the costume must be for him but... it looked more like a queen's costume than one fitting for a guy. Shrugging off that thought, Setsuko headed out of the room and started wondering around between the trees, looking for a good spot to nap.
She eventually found a tree with a low hanging curved branch, low enough to the ground so she didn't have to worry about getting hurt if she fell and thick enough for her to comfortably nap. She hoisted herself up onto the branch and got settled, leaning crossing her legs and leaning her head back against the trunk. She shifted a bit before she got into a comfortable position. Shutting her eyes, she felt herself drift off into sleep.

Once more!
Haruhi: There's nothing worse than people using big words they don't understand.
Setsuko: I photosynthesize with this.

Haruhi: It's such a beautiful evening.
Setsuko, whispering: Take that you fucking lake

Haruhi: When do you usually go to sleep?
Setsuko: Whenever I collapse is entirely up to the gods.
