Chapter 28: "There's been a Kid Napping at School!"
Time passed, and eventually everyone returned to their homes in Tokyo, even Haruhi who wanted to get a head start on the second semester.
Now back at home, Setsuko had decided to visit with her brother. The two of them were sitting in the hospital room, Setsuko recounting what happened during the trip, and Kojiro listening intently. Of course, she conveniently left out the fact that she had encountered the stalker. Though by the look on his face, Setsuko knew that he knew something was up, but he didn't utter a word about it and just listened to her talk- butting in every once in a while, to share his opinion.
As they visited, the TV in the room was playing the news, "In the past week, two teen girls have gone missing, and there has yet been any reports of them." The reporter was saying on each side of her, two pictures of the missing girls appeared, both of them smiling widely unaware of what was going to happen to them. "In these current times, I advise everyone to keep an eye out for 15-year-old Nakamura Himari, and 16-year-old Chidori Kaiya. Any information regarding the missing girls could help in the search, please do not hesitate to call this number." A number flashed on the screen as images of the two girls cycled through, showing the bright smile of Kaiya, and the long scar that graced Himari's shoulder.
"Those poor girls." Setsuko muttered.
"You need to be careful too, those girls look a lot like you." Kojiro said, reaching forwards and placing a hand on Setsuko's. "Or at least, a lot like Momoko."
"That's just coincidence. Look, I'll be fine, I look nothing like either of them right now so I'm sure I'm not targeted." Setsuko said pulling her hand away from her brother's. "You don't need to worry. Besides, if I were to suddenly go missing, there are some influential families that will notice. One of them has his own police force." She grinned and stood up, grabbing her bag from the chair it was hanging on, "Worry about your own recovery, okay, Ko-ko."
Kojiro tensed, "Hey, I thought I told you not to call me that!"
Setsuko stepped away and stuck out her tongue before turning to head out, "I have to get to training, I'll see you later."
"Yeah... see you later." Kojiro said, watching as his little sister walked out of the room and out of his sight. He looked back at the TV, which had moved on from the slideshow of the two girls to the weather. Both of the girls had light brown hair and blue eyes, almost replicas of Momoko. "Please stay safe, you dumbass." He muttered.
***
"Tell them... huh." Setsuko muttered, tapping the end of her pen on her desk. She was looking over a notebook which she noted details she needed to remember for her performances, dances she needed to practice, parts of songs that were a little pitchy, and anything like that. But she was having a hard time focusing on what she had written.
Kojiro had a point earlier, both of those girls looked a lot like Momoko. Brown hair and blue eyes were uncommon in Japan mostly found in foreigners or halfers, so it was obvious the two of them were targeted.
She leaned back, could it be... him? To escalate from stalking to kidnapping? She thought, chills running up her spine. If that were the case, this man was more unhinged than she ever believed him to be.
Maybe telling he host club would be a good idea, right now, the idea of stepping outside of the mansion while he was still out there made her stomach twist and a cold sweat run down the back of her neck. If the host club knew she'd have more protection, but she didn't want to be treated like some helpless maiden by some of them.
Maybe... maybe she needed some different kind of training. She closed her notepad and reached for her phone before flipping it open and dialing a number. It rang a few times before the person on the other side answered.
"Hey Mori-senpai, I have a favor to ask of you."
The very next day, Setsuko met up with Mori at one of his familiy's kendo studios. "I appreciate you helping me out. Sorry if this is a bother or anything-"
Mori shook his head, "No. It's good to be able to defend yourself. It's not a bother at all."
"Thanks, this means a lot."
After hearing about the kidnappings, Setsuko decided that learning solid self-defense skills would be helpful. She knew basic moves, the S.I.N.G tactic, and the 'kick them in the balls or punch them in the boobs' tactic but being able to defend herself more effectively when she was cornered would be extremely useful in case of emergency. She didn't want to be helpless and depend on other people in this situation, she wanted to be able to protect herself.
"Let's get started." Mori turned and lead Setsuko to a private training room, where the two of them started the lesson.
Despite his lack of talking, Mori was a surprisingly good teacher. He showed her what she needed to do and didn't hesitate to point out mistakes she was making. It didn't take long for Setsuko to get a hang of what he was teaching.
By the end of the lesson, Setsuko was sitting against the wall with a towel pressed to her face, trying to dry the sweat that had accumulated in the past hour and a half.
"You did well." Mori said, handing her a waterbottle.
"Only because I got a good teacher." Setsuko responded, taking the bottle and opening it before downing all the contents. She let out a sigh of relief as she watched Mori sit down next to her, drinking from his own water bottle.
"What made you want to learn?" Mori asked.
Setsuko pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them. "Personal stuff, really."
"You didn't know before? It's common for us to know basic self-defense. In case of crazy people out there."
"Crazy people... yeah." Setsuko played with the cap of her water bottle, twisting it on and off.
"Are the recent kidnapping's making you nervous?"
Setsuko stopped playing with the cap and looked up at Mori, "Ah, not really. I mean, it's awful what happened but I don't think I'm the target for whoever's behind them. He seems to have a type."
"Momoko."
"Yeah. But let's not talk about that, huh. Kinda puts a downer on the mood." She looked up at Mori with a smile, "Hey, you think you could teach me to use a katana some time?"
"Absolutely not."
"Why not? I'd be such a badass!" Mori just shook his head, causing Setsuko to pout. "Fine, I won't learn how to use a katana. Yet."
"Itsuki."
"You're no fun. Fine, it's getting late anyways, I'd better head home before it gets too dark."
"I can give you a ride if you want."
"Hm, I'm good, my driver's waiting just outside for me. Thanks for the offer, though."
"One more thing."
"Yeah?"
"You don't have to go through this alone."
Setsuko stopped in the doorway and turned to look at Mori before smiling, an image of a certain raven-haired boy appearing in her head. "Weird thing to say, but don't worry, I'm not alone." With that, she headed home.
***
"Fuck."
Setsuko was laying in her bed, it was 1am and her mind was currently taking hold of her as she tried to get to sleep. One thought led to another, led to another, and eventually she found herself thinking about Kyoya- more specifically her feelings that revolved around him.
"Oh my god, I'm a complete dumbass! I have a fucking crush on Kyoya!" She slapped her hands up to her burning face as she came to the revelation. "My first crush in three years and it had to be him. Why, out of all people it's the money grubbing asshole?!"
She didn't know when these feelings developed, was it a while ago and she just decided to procrastinate on figuring it out or was it recently? After all, they have had a lot of time together in the past few months, and during the trip to see Haruhi there were those moments. Her face exploded with heat when she remembered the moment the two of the shared in the pension, his arms around her as the rain pounded outside. Then her mind wondered to a bunch of other times the two of them shared a moment and instinctively she shoved her head into a pillow and let out a muffled scream. This could not be happening.
After the screaming session, Setsuko felt a little bit better and she turned on her side, hugging the comforter as she buried her head deeper into the pillow. She hugged the comforter tighter and tried to go to sleep, but her mind wasn't letting her. Seriously, the one night she tried to go to bed before three am and this is what she was rewarded with.

Setsuko sat in front of a vanity mirror, wiping off her make up after a concert and fan event. It's been a long day and she couldn't wait to get out of her idol attire and back into a hoodie and some sweats.
She had just finished putting on her casual clothes when she heard a knock at her door, walking over she looked through the peep hole to see a janitor standing outside. "I'm just here to take out the trash, miss Momoko!" He called out.
Setsuko glanced in the mirror and made sure she was completely dressed as Itsuki, male presenting clothes? Check. Binder? Check. Wig and extension off? Check. Contacts? Check. Everything was good. She walked to the door and opened it, giving the man a tired smile, "Yeah, sure. Sorry, Momoko left just a few minutes ago, I was just packing up the rest of her stuff."
The man looked down at her, and she could have sworn she saw a bit of a frown appear on his face before it was wiped off. "That's alright, just taking out the trash." He walked in and wheeled his cleaning cart inside. "Shame Momo-chan already left, I was hoping for an autograph."
"Maybe next time."
"Yeah, next time... though you sure she's not still here, Setsuko?"
"What-?" There was a sharp pain in her neck.
***
"-astard! Once I get my hands on you the last thing you're going to be seeing are my fists in your face!"
Setsuko groaned and blinked open her eyes to be met with blurry surroundings, her head felt like it was splitting in half and whoever was yelling was not helping.
"Oh, you're awake. Thank goodness, I was worried there for a second." Another voice said and Setsuko craned her neck to see a brunette sitting beside her, trying to move any other part of her body felt like moving a hundred pounds of rocks.
"The hell am I?" Setsuko asked, her words coming out as tired slurs.
"Some creep's basement! That's where the hell we are!" Another voice shouted and Setsuko glanced over to see another girl standing not too far away.
"Keep your voice down, Nakamura! You know how it felt when waking up from the sedative." The other girl said.
"Nakamura...?" Setsuko muttered, she had heard that name before. She felt the effects the whatever was injected into her wear off and she sat up, looking at the two other girls nearby, brown hair, blue eyes. One with a familiar scar peeking out from her sleeve. "You're Nakamura Himari and Chidori Kaiya the two missing girls."
"So you know our names, how nice."
"Speaking of which, what's you name?" Chidori asked.
Setsuko was quiet for a second, processing everything. Her stalker had found out about her cover, he had known. What use was hiding her identity now? "I'm Akemi. Akemi Setsuko."
The two girls froze before Nakamura lunged forwards, falling to her knees and grabbing Setsuko by the collar and looking at her with pure rage in her eyes. "Akemi!? So it's you, you're the reason we're in here! You bitch! What did you do to make this guy go so fucking delusional he kidnapped us?!"
"Calm down!" Chidori shouted, standing up and grabbing Nakamura and pulling her off.
Setsuko placed a hand on her head as it roared, it took a few seconds before the pain dulled down and she looked at the two girls. "I don't blame you for being angry, hell, I'd have the same reaction if I were in your shoes. Ready to kill a bitch and all. I didn't think innocent people would be dragged into this mess."
"Do... do you know why he did it?" Chidori asked, still keeping a struggling Nakamura in her arms.
Setsuko nodded. "Yeah. The name Momoko ring a bell?"
"What's that idol have to do with anything?" Nakamura asked, having calmed down slightly.
"Well, long story short, I'm her and this creep has been stalking me for the past few months! Funny, isn't it!" Setsuko said, forcing out a laugh.
"Cut the bullshit! You don't look anything like Momoko!"
"I am though."
"No you aren't!"
"Am I really gonna have to do it?" Setsuko muttered, she watched as Nakamura kept struggling and sending glares over her way. "Yeah, yeah I am." She took a deep breath and gave the two of them a smile, "Momo-chan's so happy to meet the both of you! It's such an honor!"
Nakamura stopped struggling and her expression turned to one of shock, "No shitten' way."
"Yes shitten' way." Setsuko said.
"Momoko just cussed." Chidori whispered.
"Ah, right, my idol image. Well, not something I want to worry about after being kidnapped. Speaking of which, we need to make an escape plan."
***
Kuwata was freaking out. Setsuko was nowhere to be seen and her door had been wide open when he had come by to check on her. He had only been gone to get a drink from the vending machine and just like that she was gone.
"I can't believe this happened." He said, sitting with his hand on his forehead and the police swarming the entire area. Some of the fans hadn't left yet and were being held and questioned by the police, and just outside the reporters were already swarming, no doubt this would make television before the sun even set. He had been questioned by the police earlier and he had been told that all he could do was wait and let them do their job. He hung his head, pressing the backs of his hands against his forehead as he stared down at the flip phone in his hand, his thumb running over the glasses charm hanging from the back. Akemi, I'm sorry.
***
Gone. She was gone.
Kyoya stared at the TV screen, watching with wide eyes as he watched the reporter on screen speak.
"A few minutes ago, the police arrived and have been swarming the concert hall, not letting anyone in, or out. The man explained to the camera. "It has caused chaos amongst fans of the concert hall and there is still a lot of confusion over what exactly happened. We will be continuing this story as soon as the police are done taking statement. Please stay tuned and we will talk to you more later."
Even though the reporter didn't divulge any information about Momoko going missing, he knew why else would the police swarm a Momoko concert after it's over?
The news anchor continued talking about the investigation and the possible suspects. Kyoya stood, walking toward his bedroom window, staring down at the city streets below him. She's gone. He closed his eyes for a moment before moving away from the window. He needed to make a few calls.

It wasn't long before the host club was meeting at Honey's home, as the third year's house was the most convenient place for all of them to meet.
"Why did you call us so late, Kyo-chan?" Honey yawed, rubbing his eye as he leaned against Mori.
"Is it Haruhi? Has something happened to my darling girl?" Tamaki panicked, running into the room.
"Senpai, I'm right here."
"Thank goodness. Then, what's the hurry, Kyoya? Haruhi's okay."
"Not everything is about Haruhi, boss." Hikaru started.
"Everything okay, Kyoya-senpai? You're looking kind of... frazzled." Kaoru.
"And where's Itsuki-senpai?"
"That's why I called you all here. Itsuki has gone missing." Kyoya said, causing all the members of the club to freeze.
"Itsu-chan is missing?" Honey asked.
"What do you mean?" Hikaru leaned forwards.
"Why would someone kidnap Itsuki?" Koaru asked.
"Maybe for ransom?" Haruhi suggested.
Kyoya shook his head. "There's something that you all must know about him. Or rather, her." Everyone in the club, except for Mori, perked up at Kyoya's words.
"H-her?" Tamaki asked. "How could someone so rude and vulgar be a girl?"
"Now is not the time for you to project your beliefs on what a girl should be, Tamaki." Kyoya said, adjusting his glasses as he sent a cold gaze towards his blond friend. "She came to Ouran Academy under a fake identity to get away from a man who has been stalking her until the man was brought in. Unfortunately, he's evaded the police and has manage to get his hands on Itsuki."
The hosts were quiet for a few seconds before Tamaki jumped up, "Alright men, I've decided, we're going to do everything we can to rescue Itsuki!"
***
Setsuko looked around the room, finally getting a good idea of where she was. Like Nakamura said earlier the three of them were in a basement. There weren't any visible windows in the room, so Setsuko had no clue what time it was or how much time had passed. No matter how much pushing, or kicking, the door to the room wouldn't open, definitely had something blocking it on the other side. There was an unlocked door in the back leading to a bathroom that really just had a toilet and a sink.
There wasn't much inside the room itself, simple bedroom furniture. A bed was shoved off into a corner with one pillow and a thin blanket laid over top. On the other side there was a dresser, which upon inspection was completely empty aside from a few dirty white t-shirts and old ripped jeans. Aside from those things, there was nothing else in the room. Nothing in the closets, nothing laying on the ground, and nothing that could be used as a potential 'murder and escape' weapon.
From what Chidori and Nakamura said, he came in every so often to give them food- most of the time instant ramen or some fruit. That was the only time the door would open and even then, he only slid his hand through.
It wasn't a lot, but with all three of them working together, and a little creativity they'd be able to make their way out of here.
"You sure we'll be able to escape? We've been trying ever since we got here but, well as you can see, we've had no success."
"I haven't tried yet, and three people are better than two. And if this backfires there's some people on the outside who will notice I'm missing and will come after me."
"How do you know they'll actually come for you?"
Setsuko looked at her and grinned, "Helping 'maidens' in need is what those dumbasses are the best at. Well that and they have an entire police force at their disposal."
____
Haha. She's been kidnapped.
*
Nakamura: We need a plan to beat them.
Setsuko: Okay, listen up. First, we fill their shoes with wet cat food.
Chidori:
Setsuko: Judge me all you want, I get results.

Chidori: Remember everyone, violence is never the answer.
Setsuko: You're right, Chidori.. Violence can't be the answer.
Chidori: Correct, Setsuko. Now, on to the next lesso-
Nakamura: Violence is the question.
Nakamura: And the answer is yes!
Chidori: Nakamura, no!!

Tamaki, dramatically: They called me a fool.
Setsuko, sick of Tamaki's shit: They weren't wrong.
