Chapter VIII
Messing with the Mind
_________________________________________
Warning for pain and blood.
Location; Watcher Academy
POV; Grian
I wake up and open my eyes to the rough feeling of chains clamped around my wrists.
The chains were holding my arms out straight to either side of me.
I was sitting on a cold stone-brick floor, while on my knees.
The room I was in was made of yellow endstone brick. There was a door on one side of the room across from me.
I tried to yank on the chains that were attached to my wrists to break free.
'No use.'
The chains made a rattleling noise but other than that, nothing happened.
I was officially trapped in a room that was completely empty.
'Almost like a prison cell.' I realize.
At that moment I heard footsteps approach the door from the other side.
I feel a chill go down my back, and I shiver.
I look up from the floor just in time to see the door handle glow a slight purple for no more than a second.
'Probably a magic lock.' I remember learning about them in spell class.
The the door handle turned, and the door was opened.
Zayne walked into the room and looked down at me with a sad frown, but the majority of his face was hidden behind his mask.
'Well, he's not to bad.'
Then Morden walked into the room.
'Okay, things just got slightly harder.'
After Morden, walked in Prince Aiden.
'Oh come on, this just got ten times worse.'
I try to pull on my chains again, but to no avail.
"Hello Xelqua, hope you slept well." Prince Aiden says while putting on a cheerful smile.
I scowl at him. "How dare you, have you really already forgotten what you did to Jade?"
Aiden's eye brows rise up and he tilts his head to the side.
"That really upset you didn't it, how wonderful."
"You're a monster!" I yell at him while straining against the chains.
Aiden's smile only widens as it twists into a sneer.
"It is the price that needed to be paid for your actions." Morden replied to me.
"We tried different methods in the past, but clearly when those didn't work we needed to do things differently." Zayne says.
"So we take away the things you love, including your friends." Prince Aiden finishes.
"I'll never bend to your will. Never!" I shout at them.
"Is that so?" Aiden asks me.
"There is no way you'll ever get me to join you." I confirm.
"Well then, Morden, Zayne, you both can leave. I'll take care of this here." Prince Aiden says to the other two Watchers in the room.
Morden nods his head and walks towards the door and leaves.
Zayne hesitates, looking from me to Aiden, then back to me.
"Well, what are you waiting for, your wheat to grow? Go now while you still can." Aiden says to Zayne.
Zayne quickly says his apologies and follows after Morden out of the room.
With Zayne and Morden gone, this left me and Prince Aiden alone in the room.
Aiden takes a few steps closer to me until we're a few feet apart. I pull back on the chains to increase the distance between us but my effort is futile.
"You say there is no way I'll get you to work for me? Well prepare to be proved wrong." Aiden says while smiling.
He holds both of his hands out, and his purple magic starts to gather and swirl just above his hands.
A white mask that points down on the bottom corners with a purple Watcher symbol in the center forms in Aidens hands.
I lean back and try to pull away from the mask in Aiden's hands.
He turns the mask around and starts moving it towards my face. Again, I struggle against the chains that bind me in place.
A whimper escapes my lips as I watch with fearful eyes as the mask gets closer to my face.
I brace for whatever is going to happen when the mask is finally placed on my face.
I don't have to wait long however though, because soon I feel the mask on my skin and the feeling of it "melting" onto my face.
At first, the only difference is that there is a slight purple tinge to my sight. Then the pain comes.
At first, it wasn't so bad, but it quickly got worse.
Warning begins now
Soon there was an agonizing, stabbing pain coming off of the mask on my face, it was all that kept me conscious.
My head felt light, everything around me seemed to spin and a feeling of nauseousness crept up slowly.
Surely this pain would stop soon.
Surely there's an end to this.
I wasn't so sure and ready to give up because of it.
Ten seconds passed, then twenty, then thirty, the pain never subsided. At least it wasn't getting worse, yet.
My entire body was trembling now. Weak and exhausted it costed me all of my remaining strength to keep fighting.
Panic took over for a moment as thoughts of an endless pain crept up in my mind.
'What if this agonizing stabbing pain would never stop shooting through my head and body?'
Wave after wave kept coming. I coughed up blood and realized it was now purple.
Sweat was pouring from my forehead, my hands were clammy and trembling, and my teeth were gritted.
It took me a moment to gather my thoughts, or at least gather enough of them to think a little clearer.
I squeezed my eyes shut tight and my face turned to a grimace. Swallowing the pain and ignoring it the best I could was the only option.
Though try as I might, my body soon gave into the exhaustion of trying to fight the pain for so long, and I fell into unconsciousness.
Warning end,
Grian was put under the masks control.

POV; Third-person
Aiden smiled down at the slumped figure of Xelqua in front of him.
Although the chains bound to Xelqua's wrists prevented him from fully falling to the ground.
He walked back over to the door and telepathically called Zayne and Noelani to come and take care of Aiden's little "experiment".
Aiden walked out of the room then, and left Xelqua alone.
Shortly after Aiden left, both Zayne and Noelani walked in.
"What did Aiden do to him?" Noelani whispers to Zayne.
"I'm not sure, but I know it has something to do with the mask." Zayne says to her.
He walks up to Xelqua and turns his head to face Noelani. She nods and breaks the chains on Xelqua's wrists.
Zayne catches Xelqua so he doesn't hit the floor in his fall.
Zayne sets Xelqua down on the ground and takes a few steps back so Noelani can make sure he's okay.
Noelani walks over and crouches next to Xelqua, who was laying on the ground where Zayne set him.
Her hand lights up and Noelani runs it along Xelqua's forehead with out touching him before turning to face Zayne again.
"Do you think that he'll be okay?" Noelani asks Zayne.
Zayne lifts his hand up to his chin and thinks for a moment before shaking his head slowly.
"Whatever Aiden did to him, it's not normal. I think he used his magic to fully put Xelqua under his control." Zayne says.
Noelani covers her mouth with a slight gasp before turning back to Xelqua.
"Is there anything we can do?" She asks Zayne while still facing Xelqua.
"Maybe, there might be something in the library. But you need to understand that there is a very low possibility that we'll find what we're looking for." He says to Noelani.
She nods her head and stands up so Zayne can walk over and pick Xelqua up bridal style.
Noelani leads Zayne to Xelqua's room where Zayne lays Xelqua on his bed.
A small hiccup sounds from Noelani's mouth and Zayne puts a hand on her shoulder.
"What if we can't escape?" She asks him in a whisper.
"We will, don't worry we will." Zayne says back.
They both walk out of the room so Xelqua can rest in peace.

Location; Admin Headquarters
POV; Libra Skyward {yup, I got her }.
I walk down the hallway lined with tall windows that reach all the way up to the ceiling.
There was long, magenta velvet curtains along the windows on either side.
"Prime Admin Skyward, if I may have but a fraction of your time-"
"No, you may not." I interrupt them by holding a hand up before they could finish.
"Ask someone else please." I tell them.
I have a busy day today and I can't be bothered by other Admins asking about their servers.
They walk off and I continue to walk down the halls, now starting to run.
Avery, who is one of my associates, has contacted me about the missing Admin that disappeared almost two years ago.
I had gathered a group of highly trained Admins to go and investigate a server called Evolution, or Evo for short.
When we had arrived there, it was all destroyed.
There was no signs of life anywhere. We assumed that the Watchers made an attack on that server and killed all of the Players.
The Admin however remains alive, I have had a group looking for and researching the missing Admin.
Unfortunately the process that is normally very quick has taken longer due to a glitch that caused his name and other important things about him to get corrupted and lost.
Soon I reach the doors to my office and walk inside.
There was another person in the room already, she was wearing a lacy-purple top with black pants and black sneakers.
Her jet-black hair was in a low bun and a silver comb with purple gems in it was in the bun.
"Hello Avery, I hear you have news to share?" I ask her.
She turns to me and a smile spreads across her face, her purple eyes sparkling.
