Chapter 6: At Least One Queen Understands Our Pain

A/N I should probably tell you guys what the royal parents' names are, cuz if I don't, it might get confusing, I dunno.

Mycetain: Samuel and Clarisse Frags

Nadern: Theodore Bajan

Starae: Maya Star

Necto: Caden and Gloria Ayeseff

Triastare: Derek and Isabel Craft

Icenoan: Flora Woofles

And... uh... I just realized I put Preston and Lachlan's REAL last names in the first chapter... so just... ignore that plz

Vikk's POV

To be honest, I'm kind of... expecting the worst from this meeting between the royal adults. I'm also kind of nervous about what might happen if we get caught. Obviously this meeting was supposed to be secret.

But it's also... exhilarating to do something you're not supposed to.

So let's throw all caution TO THE WIND. (hehehe... later in this chapter you'll understand why that's a pun)

"I honestly don't know why we had to come all this way to talk about our kids." I didn't recognize that voice. Uh, it was a woman's, that's all I could tell.

"Ah, relax Isabel, it's just some adventure!" That was King Theodore Bajan. And I guess that queen that spoke was Isabel Craft, Lachlan's mom.

"Yeah, yeah, okay, let's get to the important part," came King Samuel Frags's voice. "Has there been any recent attacks that you suspect were from Haletor?"

Lachlan and I cast glances at each other. Haletor? Why would Haletor, the creator of the Ender Dragon, be attacking now?

Well, I guess there's the prophecy, and the fact that she hates everybody....

"Sammy, you don't have to talk in the royal fancy language anymore." That was Queen Flora Woofles. "And of course there has been recent attacks from that lizard, have you even LOOKED at Theo?"

(Hehehe I ship Flora and Theo)

Eh, Rob's mom has a point. His back was all scratched up and looked worse than the Nether.

And she just roasted a god.

Uh-oh.

Someone tsked. "I know about Theo, but anything else?" King Samuel asked.

There were murmurs of "no" and "well duh."

Geez our parents are savage.

This time Preston's mom, Queen Clarisse Frags, spoke up. "Can we at least say which elemental belongs to which kid? We know ours is fire, and we've kept him away from the rivers for his entire life."

Shocked, I turned to Preston. He was staring at the back of the painting, surprised. I turned my attention back to the adults' conversation.

"Jerome is ground, that's why we kept him and raised him as our own, we could tell he was from the prophecy." That was Jerome's mom, Queen Gloria Ayeseff.

"When Vikk and Rob were about to take out the alpha of the wolf pack, the alpha spoke telepathically." Now it was... Mom that was talking? "It wasn't very good at it, because I could hear what it had to say. It addressed Rob and Vikk as, 'the one of nature and the one of wind.' It didn't specify who was which, but that leaves Lachlan and Mitch to either be lightning or water."

"Lachlan has taken up an interest in.... fish." That was Lachlan's dad, King Derek Craft. "But he runs from people.... lightning fast."

I surpressed a snicker. Lachlan liking fish? I turned to Lachlan, but he glared at me all like, "Don't bring it up."

"We've been having storms lately. Lots of them." I could tell that was King Bajan. "It doesn't seem like a coincidence that they all come after Mitch has gotten into a fight with a child from town."

I looked at Mitch. He looked kind of confused, but at the same time he looked like he understood something I clearly didn't.

"And Rob spends lots of time in the royal garden," came Queen Flora's voice. "The gardeners say he has, 'a way with plants.'"

Next was Queen Gloria Ayeseff. "Alright, I guess we can all agree that Preston is fire, Jerome is ground, Mitch is lightning, Rob is nature, Lachlan is water, and Vikk is air."

A chorus of "mmhm"s came after that. Well then, at least that part is cleared up for my mind. I can control air. Cool.

Actually, no, not cool. Why did our parents not tell us this sooner?

"Now, we should probably talk about the deadline," Preston's mom said.

Wait.

Deadline?

What?

For what?

Me and Lachlan glanced at each other, confused. At least I wasn't the only one confuzzled to death.

"Wait what?" Apparently my mom and probably the other parents were also confused.

"Oh, yes, right. You haven't heard the second part of the prophecy. Seto, I presume you have the book?" King Samuel asked.

Wait what?

What the fudge was Seto doing here? And why hasn't he talked?

Now Mitch also looked confused as the Nether.

As did everybody else.

Someone spoke, which I assumed was Seto. "Oh, uh, yeah, I was just uh.... thinking." He cleared his throat.

"When these chosen turn thirteen

Haletor's spell shall be complete

To rid the world of disaster

The chosen shall come before the hour

The youngest of the six turns the unluckiest age

If they fail, it is too late to save the day."

It was silent for a bit while everyone pondered on... prophecy stuff. Then Lachlan's mom spoke up. "And why didn't you tell us this sooner?"

EXACTLY. See, Queen Isabel understands our pain as children.

"Well, those lines of the prophecy are kept in a book only a sorcerer is able to open. And this is the first time Seto here was.... available." Geez, King Samuel sounded salty.

Seto laughed nervously. "Well, uh, I had... sorcerer stuff to do. Um, bye?"

There was a faint popping noise. I guess Seto teleported away. It would make sense if King Samuel just had a communicator he shared with Seto so Seto would just teleport here when King Samuel called....

Someone sighed. "Well, what are we going to do about that part of the prophecy?" King Caden asked.

Just then, I made a mistake. I pressed on the back of the painting to hard. And you know what happened when a painting gets hit.

The painting broke, revealing us seven teens casually listening in to our parents conversation.

They found us.

Shoot.
