It was a cold, cold night.

Naruto couldn't fall asleep, his mind trailed over the events that happened. Sasuke wasn't dead. Even if he's made to kill, he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

But why? He didn't even know the answer himself.

The sage and him often had meetings together, discussing what the world was like.

"Naruto, promise me."

"Yes?"

"Please watch over the Shinobi World."

Naruto sighed. He'd been sending clones to Konogakure, Sunagakure, Cloud and Mist.

He warmed his hands against the pre-made flames before he heard a shout.

"Ay! That's our fire!"

Naruto narrowed his eyes and activated his doujutsu. He looked straight at the attackers and they fainted, dropping their bags of meat and fish.

He sat down back at the camp, cooking the fish and meat to eat for his dinner. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

Early morning came quickly for Naruto as he yawned.

"U-um... O-ohayo?" A meek voice squeaked behind him. Naruto sighed, someone had to ruin his peaceful day, didn't they?

He turned around and was face to face with a girl nearly the size of him, black hair and large hazel eyes.

Naruto blinked,"Ohayo." The girl smiled awkwardly at him."Sir?-"

"Uzumaki Naruto. Call me Naruto or Uzumaki-san if you like," he said, her smile contagious as he found himself smiling as well.

??? P.O.V

My heart fluttered as I stared up into his ocean blue eyes.

"Call me Naruto or Uzumaki-san if you like," Uzumaki-san said, his mouth shaping into a kind smile. I giggled and my own smile grew wider if possible.

I nodded,"Alright, Uzumaki-san."

He nodded back and his eyebrows furrowed,"Do you not have a place to stay?"

"No," I shook my head,"My parents left me here and I just happen to bump into you, Uzumaki-san."

Uzumaki-san suddenly grinned,"I have an idea! You can stay here with me until I find you a home. But do you know anything about how to defend yourself?"

I shook my head. He frowned slightly and sighed,"Well, its up to me to teach you then, isn't it?"

Third Person P.O.V

Naruto scratched his head,"I haven't caught your name, actually." She smiled slightly,"Midori. Ai Midori."

"Beautiful..." Naruto whispered quietly.

"What was that?" Ai raised her eyebrow. Naruto blushed."Nothing."

"So lets start on your taijutsu," Naruto said as he led her to a plain open field made for training. He got in a fighting stance."Give me all you've got."

Ai nodded and charged with her fists swinging wildly. Naruto dodged, jumping away, blocking most of the attacks.

"That... was good," Naruto panted, wiping the sweat off his brow. Ai smiled,"Did I do well?"

He narrowed his eyes,"Well you would be killed if you entered a chunnin in battle, but for your first time, yes. You did well."

"Yay!" Ai cheered, a smile plastered on her face.

Naruto smiled as well.
