CHAPTER SEVEN

Before we move on, I'd like to clarify something because I noticed a couple of readers have made the same mistake.

Jadesola is not in any way related to Williams. No, I'm not writing an incest story. Neither was she adopted. She just moved in with the family because she had no where to go and they "claimed" they were her parents best friends.

So, she is no way in relations with Williams and that also doesn't mean she wouldn't respect him though. I mean, we all know this Nigerian setting. We have to have at least a pinch of respect for our elder ones. Even if Williams doesn't deserve it😂

Now that that's settled.

Jadesola

"The doctor said I burnt my liver, I've been..." i vibed out, singing line lyrics of Bad Influence to the rhythmic voice of Omah Lay as his voice flowed richly into my ear through the AirPods inserted in my ear. In the same rhythmic way, my legs flowed past each other, stopping at the front joint of the machine, only to roll back to the end and repeat the same movement.

I used my right hand to increase the speed of the tread mill, running and overusing my already straining muscles. Sweats ran across my temple, rolling down unto the cleavage of my breast covered by the blue work out sports bra cladded on my body. My oversized ash joggers rhymed beautifully with the white Nike sneakers on my feet.

Like in hypnotism, my thoughts drizzled away from the rich voice of Omah lay and embraced the event that had occurred four nights ago. I closed my eyes, my vision imitating exactly the same position William had been bent in. The calculated movement of his hands, his light gentle caresses on my thighs.

"You want these fingers?" He had asked.
Oh my gosh! What had I been thinking?

What was I wanting? That really couldn't occur as I wasn't, I had never been, and would never be interested in William in that manner.

If that's the reason, then why were you... i shot a hard glare at my sub conscious. I really wasn't in the mood for her right now.

Finally, I decided to put my burning muscles to rest. I switched off the tread mill, walking with force towards the table water I had packed, located right on top of my gym bag. I gulped the water in a loud way, the grum grum grum as it passed through my throat reverberating in the gym room.

It was a private gym located just right in our estate, GIRAVE estate. Most times, the users were from the estate but occasionally, we had people from neighboring streets and estate come over. Most especially women. It wasn't hard to understand why though, Warner, one of the trainers was a very hot dude. Rumors had it that he indeed had a degree in gymnastics from where he had studied in California.

Women could be really desperate when they wanted something.

The cap of the table water made a slight sound of pop as I covered, wiping my mouth off with the back of my right hand. My natural hair was packed into a high bun onto of my head with a pink hair band holding it up.

My flat tummy was on full display over the sports bra as I bent down to pick my bag, getting ready to go home. Today was a Saturday, resulting to a work-free day. Suffice to say I was more than joyous. I had a planned appointment with Aunty to visit the saloon and have in a new hair style alongside pedicures and manicures. I really was looking forward to it as Aunty had informed me she had managed to squeeze in a spa and massage appointment.

Around 6:00 in the evening, we were all leaving to the company's occasion hall to officially welcome me as the new president of the THE ATRIX company.

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I had managed to make a few friends in the company but that had been under a disguise. They had all concluded I was a personal assistant and I had not said anything to correct them. Including Lucas. He had become a good acquaintance during the week and we always went down together for lunch always. At times, we included other co workers. We had formed a comfortable routine that was starting to get on William's nerve for some reason.

The last time, Williams had called me when I had barely taken a spoon of the delicious looking jollof rice I had ordered. He had asked me to rush down to the office and that an emergency that required the presence of the CEO and both the President had occurred and my presence was required.

I had rushed down to the office, barely picking up the food Lucas had hurriedly asked an attendant to pack. It had dropped upon me like a wired shock when I had arrived in Williams office only to see him munching down a hand filled chicken, a plate of Eba and efo soup with ponmo almost swallowing the whole soup on his table. Really, who ate Eba in the office?

"Oh, Jayde you are here. That's good, but your presence is no longer required again. I settled the issue and ooops, i guess I forgot to call you back to inform you." He swallowed another mount of Eba as he spoke, quickly crushing another ponmo.

As he talked, I felt like hitting his head with the restaurant plastic bag in my hands.

"So you are telling me— I spoke, that you interrupted my food and forgot to inform me while you were munching on this eba..." he interrupted me,

"A very sweet Eba." He winked. I grounded my teeth together, trying to push a leash on the violent images picturing on my head.

"You could seat here to eat your food though, I can see you packed it." He added, gulping a bottle of fearless drink. The guy was really misusing his post. I mean, who ate the Eba in the office?!

"No, thank you. I have my office. Have a good day." I was almost tempted to tell him to have a bad day. I slapped my feet unto the marbled ground of his office as I walked away from him, trying to at least relive a little bit of aggression. As I closed the door behind me, I could swear I had heard him laugh.

Bastard.

My attention refocused back to the present as I passed by Warner who had a woman bent over, doing a quick hip exercise. She was a skinny fair skinned lady who of course, was dressed in a short shorts and a very skimpy sports bra. Her long human hair wig was packed into a high bun. I mean, who wore wig to the gym?

Wetin Musa no go see for gate?

Na why he resign. My subconscious answered for me and I shot her a cold look.

"Jadesola!" Warner's deep voice called out to me as I walked past him without any acknowledgement. I mean, he was busy and I wasn't about to be in skinny lady's death wish.

"Hey Warner." I smiled shyly at him, not failing to check out the muscles in his arms bulging out of the long white tank top he was putting on. Grey joggers matched the white sneakers he was on, balancing the gym instructor look.

"How have you been? It's been long you've been in the gym yea, ever since you left last year, no one heard from you no more. Now, is that fair?" He smiled, lightly tapping my right arm.

"Ah ahn, it's not like that o. I just got back last week. I didn't even visit home throughout the year. But now I'm back abi, good as new." I spoke up, my gaze briefly landing on the impatient looking woman who had now stopped her exercise and now had her hands folded together, her right foot balancing the rest of her body. She was not so subtly glaring at the proximity between Warner and I. Women.

"Okay. That's good I guess. But for future purposes, I'd like to collect your number so I can call to check up on you myself." Quickly, he brought out the phone that had been resting at the back picket of his joggers.

"That's even better." I collected the phone from his hands and it immediately got snatched out of my hands. Baffled, my gaze followed the intrusive hands and traced it to Williams face. Oh gosh, no. I internally groaned. He was putting on black, both his hoodie and shorts with Jordan's.

"What do you want?" I raised my hands, trying but failing to grab the phone back from him.

"Hey Warner my man," Williams greeted Warner, totally ignoring my existence.

"Excuse me Mr, are you deaf?" I asked, now pinning him with a hard glare.

"I'm sorry, did someone say something?"
Williams directed his question at Warner, indicating he was totally ignoring my existence.

"So now, I've become so tiny you can't see me?" I questioned.

Point loss Jade, you shouldn't have said that.

"My bad for not seeing anything from my height up here." He sassed back, looking down at me.

"Give me the phone." Groaning, I stretched to my full height, trying to hijack the phone from his hands.

"Nope." He popped out, raising his hands up.
Oh he's so having it today. I dropped my bags on the floor and adjusted my shoe laces.

"Give me the phone." I jumped up, making him raise to his toes.

Soon, I started to tail and pursue him about the gym while he just kept running, laughing and having fun frustrating me.

"Once I get that phone from your hands, I'll show you the power of a lady." I gritted out, agitated by the fact that I was already breathing hard like I had run a marathon.

"I've never doubted the power of a lady Jayde, but i doubt you can actually do that. Considering your tiny figure." He laughed again, dodging my right hand that risen up to grab the phone.

"I'm 5'8 you horse." No one insulted my height.

"Oh right baby girl, and I'm a market woman. And about me being a horse, of course you are right. I'm sure you know the big manhood horses possess. I didn't need that complement but hey, who am I to refuse? Thank you love." He smiled and I hit my head with my hands.

"You must be really delusional, you dirty minded man. Sure, horses possess a big manhood. I doubt you'd have that though. Considering you might have packed everything with your height." I laughed. We were now rounding the yoga section of the gym.

"Baby, wanna see it? So you can justify that sentence?" He grounded out and I realized he had been shot in the heart with my comeback. And so, basking in the glory I said, "No thanks. I know a small one when I see the man."

Sighing, I finally gave up on my pursuit. He was going to have me late for my appointment with mum. "See you later horse with the small D." I winked and sashayed away from him.

"Hey Warner, I guess next time yea? I really need to get home now." I called out to Warner who had now gone back to the woman. I choked on laughter when the woman finally raised her eyes to glare at me.

Dear sweet love.

"Okay then Jade, I'd collect it next time. Seems like Williams is in the mood to play today." He called out and I laughed, "No dear. It's become his hobby to bother me now."

"Talking behind my back now, are we?" Someone whispered into my ears, grabbing my shoulders from behind.

When the fuck did he even get here?

"You wish, I have better things to do." I pushed his hands away, and walk past the entrance of the gym.

"Yen yen yen." He muttered back. And I stopped, shocked. This was actually the first time I had ever heard or seen Williams in a playful mood. Maybe Warner was actually right.

"How mature William, I wonder how your girlfriend copes." We both fell in the same step on the side walkway.

"I don't have a girlfriend so no one copes." He stuck his tongue and this time around, I actually laughed.

"Lemme rephrase, I wonder how your future girlfriend would cope." I smiled.

"Don't worry, she'd cope just fine. I take good care of my things." He winked.

"You are dirty minded." I scrunched my nose together in mock disgust.

"Hey, you are the dirty minded one here. I didn't mention anything dirty related." He laughed, slightly hitting my forehead.

"But you did it on purpose." I accused and he smiled sheepishly. The wind was getting strong already and I suspected an incoming rain.

Suddenly, I felt fingers remove stray hair which had escaped from the hair band from my face. Williams briefly removed his hands before bringing them back down to caress my temple.

"You are cute." He muttered.

"I know." I smirked, trying my best not to show that I was actually blushing internally.

"Sass" he laughed and I joined him.

"We really should walk faster. I sense rain...." and just as if the rain had been waiting for William to speak up, it began to pour down in rough pita patters, dwarfing us in its glory.

"Shit." William cursed before removing his hood and raising it to my head. "Wear that now. You might catch cold. Why would you wear a sports bra Jayde?" He yelled above the rain.

"Maybe because I went to the gym?" I yelled back, scoffing and quickly putting on the hood.

"Shut up, now let's go." He grabbed my hands and started to jog. I followed behind him, staring at his now wet tank top. Damn, this man had a good build. The way those muscles were bulging and stretching as he moved was I could concentrate on as I jogged.

We finally got home with the both of us soaked wet. I know you got that innuendo. Uncle only laughed as we rushed passed them while Aunty Vicky instructed us to come down for hot tea after we had had our bath.

"We reached my room first and I was about to pull of the hood and return it when Williams hands stopped me. "Keep it, big things looks good on you. Especially my things." He muttered and I shrugged, trying to ignore the jittery feeling within me.

"Also Jayde," he called out and I raised my head up, eyebrows raised in question.

"You would cope." He said and ruffled my hair, walked away and left me staring disconcertedly at his back profile. Sexy butts though. Just saying.

Someone disconcerted right now say what?
