Gabriel went to his office. The fact that his son's girlfriend was the one called Ladybug was troubling, but that fact that his son could be Chat Noir was even worse. It made it easier to steal their miraculouses, but also a lot more complicated.

He made a plan. He was going to make Marinette upset and then Adrien so he could akumatize them to steal their miraculouses. He grinned. His plan was waterproof now.

The next morning Marinette received a letter from Adrien.

Dear Marinette,
I hate to break it to you but you're not the one for me after all. You're too clumsy and even though you don't stutter anymore, they way you talk is still annoying. I don't like your personality, my one true love is Ladybug and that's not you. This is goodbye, we'll never see each other as Marinette and Adrien again.

A tear fell, and then another. Eventually soaking the paper. Marinette was crying. Tikki, who had read the letter as well, tried to comfort her but she failed. Marinette cried and she couldn't stop anymore. He dumped her. And why? Because she wasn't Ladybug, even though she was. 'Adrien, why?' she kept saying. She buried her face in a pillow and just sat there, on her bed, trying to cope with her broken heart.

Meanwhile Gabriel had entered his secret room and transformed into Hawkmoth, 'Fly away my little akuma and evilize this prey.' he said when he let a purple butterfly escape through the window.

Tikki, who was staring outside, saw it. 'Marinette there's an akuma!' she yelled. 'Leave me alone Tikki, I can't stand to see that cat right now.'
'But Marinette, it's going straight towards you.' Tikki said. 'What?' Marinette said surprised. 'Alright then. Tikki spots on!' Marinette yelled. She transformed into Ladybug. She wasn't as determined as she normally was but she climbed to her rooftop anyway. There she freaked out because she saw Chat Noir sitting there. 'Go away!' she yelled. Chat, not understanding why, looked surprised at her. 'What?' he asked. 'You heard me, go away! Don't think you can break my heart and get away with it!' Ladybug yelled while a tear escaped her eye. 'M'lady-'
'No don't call me that, I'm done with you!'
'But what's wrong?' Chat Noir asked. 'You know what's wrong, or do you have amnesia and did you already forget about the letter you sent me!?' Ladybug said while throwing the soaked letter into his direction. That's the moment when Ladybug was hit by the akuma. 'Anti-lovebug. Bring me your and Chat Noir's miraculouses.' Hawkmoth said. 'Yes Hawkmoth.' Ladybug replied. She transformed. Chat Noir looked at her, not believing what he saw and what he had read. 'Ladybug I didn't send this letter!' he said. 'You're too late now Kitty, prepare to die.'
'I don't intend to.'

Chat Noir started thinking, it had to be the earrings he thought. Anti-lovebug attacked Chat Noir, he dodged it. Anti-lovebug tried it again and again but Chat Noir kept dodging it until Anti-lovebug finally caught him with her yo-yo. 'You're making a mistake!' he yelled. 'No I'm not.' Anti-lovebug said.

Alya who was on her way to Marinette's house saw what was going on on her rooftop. She took her camera and started recording all of it.

'Give me your miraculous.' Anti-lovebug said. 'Never!'
'I'll just take it myself then.' she said when she took Chat Noir's ring.

Alya almost dropped her phone when she saw that it was Adrien who was Chat Noir.

Anti-lovebug used her yo-yo and went towards Adrien's house. Alya took her bike and started following her while still recording. Adrien left Marinette's house as quickly as possible and started running, he was too slow but he was able to see Alya. Anti-lovebug entered Adrien's house and walked to Hawkmoth. 'Excellent.' he said. 'You're the first one who has succeeded. Now hand me over the miraculouses.'
Anti-lovebug started taking out her earrings and gave them to Hawkmoth, just like Chat Noir's ring.

Alya and Adrien arrived at Adrien's house. Adrien's eyes widened when he saw that Anti-lovebug went to his house. 'Alya!' he yelled when he was close enough. 'Adrien, we have to talk but not now.' she answered. 'Just open this gate.'
Adrien opened the gate and later on the front door. They both ran inside. 'Search the house!' Adrien yelled. 'I'm on it.' Alya said when she ran away. Adrien knew Hawkmoth had to be his father. It explained his absence and all of the other things he did.

Alya and Adrien eventually met in the hall. They both hadn't found anything. 'Nooooooooo!' they heard Marinette yell all of a sudden. 'What's Marinette doing here?' Alya asked. Adrien ignored her question and started locating the sound. Eventually he ended up in an empty room. 'She's not here.' he said to Alya. 'Wait.' Alya said. She started touching a lot of places in the room. Eventually a hidden platform appeared. They stood on it until they arrived in a hidden chamber. And saw Hawkmoth, with the miraculouses and Marinette on the floor.
