Letting out an easy breath through my mouth, I could only follow the small puff of white that came from my mouth, floating in the cold air around me. The rain fall had stopped, but the dark clouds still filled up the sky, leaving outside looking dark and miserable. Shivering lightly, I brought my arms in and hugs myself as I walked towards the barn, Maddox only a few steps ahead of me, his blond hair wild compared to most times, his black boats leaving his foot prints as he made his way towards the barn. I know for sure many would be booking it to get free, but honestly, Maddox could most likely outrun me, and I don't think I could last a day out in the woods, I have no idea where the heck I am.

"Alright." Maddox said, his voice sounding softer than it normally did as he pull the large door open, the black dress shirt's sleeves rolled up past his elbows as the door opened fully.

Just before moving in behind Maddox, I notice that from the corner of my eye, something moved high in a tree. I turned my head, looking towards the tree and I narrowed my eyes, not seeing anything out of place. Shrugging it off, I entered into the barn, only to stop in my tracks, gaping at was around me, my eyes looking over the barn, before I felt something breathing on me. Turning my head, I swallowed deeply as I took a few steps back, looking at the large creature that stood before me, it's rich brown eyes looking at me with curiosity.

"You look like you've never seen a horse." Maddox joked, walking up to the horse and placing his hand lightly on it, putting its head out more, it's mane falling past its left eye.

"Hill has a horse?" I said, looking at the creature like it was some ghost as Maddox only laughed.

"Correction, three horses, this one just the nicest." He said, turning his head towards the other direction, my eyes following his direction, seeing what appeared to be the side of another horse.

"But why you are in here is because you are going to clean Red here, not ride him, and get him back into his stall safely within the next 3 hours." He said, removing his hand from Red and walking over to a shelf, grabbing at a black halter before grabbing some black reins, placing them in my hands.

"Good luck and have fun, I'll send someone out to check on you and Red." He said, giving a nod before walking out of the barn, Red turned his head towards me, his left ear lightly lower than the right as he looked at me.

"What you looking at?" I mumbled, walking over to the stall and setting the objects on the shelf next to the door. I didn't care that I was talking to a horse, it was the only thing in this place that looked nice, and that it couldn't say anything back to me.

Looking over the stall door, I notice a key panel, a green light on. I looked around, thinking that Maddox may be watching me or laughing at how stupid I looked as I slowly pulled the door open, seeing the light go from green to red.

Red slowly pulled his head back, backing up as I slipped into his stall, his ears twitching in a very strange way as he swung his head side to side, his long tail swinging against the side of the stall. But as I looked at Red, something came over me, my heart beating faster as I slowly backed up, grabbing at the reins, the feeling of the leather rubbing against my skin as I slowly moved back towards Red, his calm eyes following me slowly as I got to his side, getting the reins on quiet easy compared to how I have seen it go done on Tv. I placed my hand on the part of Red's neck, feeling his coat twitch at my touch, his nostrils moving like fire was going to come out. If Hill just thought that I wouldn't try anything, be a good little slave and do all his orders, he was deeply wrong, even if what was going to happen next killed me, I didn't care, not any more.

Moving to the side of Red, I pulled myself up onto him, my hands quickly grabbing at the reins as I looked over his head, hearing the powerful snorting he was already letting off. My heart was screaming as I took an easy breath before kicking at Red's side. We were out of the barn and running in a matter of seconds.

Chip's POV

Water fell over Chip as he leaned against the side of the shower, his eyes closed as he let the water wash over him, his skin going from dark to a light pale color. He had no idea how much more time he had, but yet, he didn't care, he was tired and feeling sick, he didn't give a crap about time. The collar was still around his neck, leaving his voice captive in his throat, he didn't dare to speak, nor did he want to see his father smile if he heard he was shocked. A loud knock pulled Chip out of his daze, his eyelids slowly opening as he turned his head towards the shower curtain, hearing Keene shout.

"Five more minutes!" His voice making it past the water and to Ayden's ears, his eyes lowering as he looked over at the water handle, like it would just turn off for him, but it didn't, so painfully, he reached out with his hand, his face scrunching up in more pain as he turned the water off, his muscles screaming in pain as he slowly pulled his hand back. His black hair stuck to his forehead as he pulled back the curtain, stepping out and grabbing at a towel, wrapping it around his waist before he looked at the nicely folded clothes next to the sink.

Swallowing deeply, he moved towards the door, hitting it with his hand before taking a few light steps back. The door slowly opened after word, Keene looked through, his eyes landing on a half way naked Chip who looked at the ground.

"What do you need?" He hissed, Ayden looked at him, his eyes moving over to the clothes before back to Keene.

Chip only watched as Keene raised an eyebrow at him, trying to understand his silent plea of help. After a few minutes, Keene looked over his shoulder, speaking to someone before he pushed the bathroom door open further, Chip's eyes landing on Chase, who's eyes danced with laughed when seeing Chip.

"What's the matter Ayden? Cat got your tongue?" He joked, stepping in and looking over at the clothes before back towards Keene. "Do you have the device to his collar?" He asked, Keene quickly reaching into his pocket and fishing out the remote before handing it to Chase who studied over it, Chip watching him with wide eyes.

"Let's see here." Chase said, running his finger over every single button before pushing one, the collar, letting out a loud noise before the light on the collar disappeared. "I don't want to play Charades, speck." Chase said, lowering the remote and looking at Ayden as he lowered his head.

The bathroom stood in silence before Chase mumbled something, moving in closer to Ayden. "You tell me what you want before I have Keene just leave you chained naked for the next 24 hours." He hissed, Ayden swallowed before meeting eye contact with his younger, not full blooded brother's eyes.

"I-I need hel-p.." Ayden said, his voice scratchy and low as he looked back down.

He wish what he said was a lie, but it wasn't. His muscles screamed each time he even tried to move due to being kept in a position longer than normal. He knew that he couldn't get dressed by himself, and even if he did try, it was just turning horribly bad. But as the pained words came out, Ayden saw Chase's lips curl into a smirk before he leaned in, Ayden turned his eyes away as Keene just kept quiet in the background, watching the two bull dog of brothers stand in front of each other, nether held back by anything this time.

"Does my big brother, the one that was so bad, he never needed help with anything, now need help?" Chase said, his eyebrows raised as Ayden's jaw tightened.

Taking a step back, Chase laughed, his laugh filled with evil as he just shook his head before looking at Keene. "Keene, my good friend, would you be kind and help my brother?" He asked. Keene opened his mouth to speak was quickly interrupted as Maddox's panicked voice filled the house.

"Keene!" Maddox nearly yelled as he rushed towards the door, sweating as he came to a stop.

"What is it, brother?" Keene asked, watching as Maddox caught his breath.

"Skyler-she ran off with Red." He said, both Chase and Keene's going wide.

"I tried to stop her, but Red is too fast and I don't know how to ride any of the horses, you have to go after her." Maddox said, panic in his voice as his eyes wondering over to Ayden who was listening before looking at Chase who moved forward.

"Which way did she go?" He asked, his face stone serious.

Maddox paused for a moment, before speaking. "North, she went North." He said, Chase quickly pushing past Keene and Maddox, moving towards the stairs fast as he yelled out.

"Keene, get finished with Chip and make sure everything else is running in order." He said, before yelling back again.

"And don't tell my father about this until I get back with her!" His voice filled the house before the slamming of the front door took over.

****

The rain had started to pick up more, but it didn't stop me as I watched the trees fly past us, Red leaped over anything that blocked his path, powerful snorts coming from his nostrils Letting out an easy breath, I leaded back, pulling on the reins, Red's speed lowing down to walking. I looked around at the trees that surrounded us, like giants that never moved. Red moved slowly, leaves and twigs breaking under his hoofs as he moved on, mud sticking to his hoofs as he moved forward.

But as I listened more, the sound of the birds singing a light tune, wind lightly touching the leaves, it was tiny voices all specking to me, it was almost peaceful. I looked up, seeing the long branches of the tress hold together, blocking the dark sky above, only allowing little bits of rain to pass through and land on the earth below. As I took in everything, I lowered my head, listening to what sounded like a car driving on dirt and rocks.

"Easy there." I whispered to Red, pulling him to a stop as I listened more. The noise was getting closer so I pulled the reins back, causing Red to slowly back up until he was between two large trees.

Just coming down the narrow and muddy path was a black ford mustang, its windows dark as it drove down the path. I watched it until I notice it stopped, the driver's window rolling down as what sounded like another horses hoofs came racing up to the car. I gulped as I slowly rested myself against Red, watching as a large black horse came to a strong step next to the car, my heart racing when I saw it was Chase, a gun visible on his right side.

I couldn't make out anything but just by looking at how Chase looked, he looked pissed and I know he was looking for me. Chase said something before he made a turn and raced back down where he came from, the mustang picked up speed and following right after him.

Quickly, I went back up straight, pulled on the reins, causing Red to make a sharp turn before I kicked him hard, a snort escaping him before he took off running, the wind hitting me in the face so bad, I lowered my body down and rested my face in Red's mane, watching as the tree's flow past me. "Come on, Red." I said, watching ahead of us now, glancing behind me every so often to make sure we were clear.

I had to idea how far I was now, but I thought we were far enough so I pulled Red to a stop, having him walk off the trail a little before I notice a small river up ahead. Looking around, I jumped off him, my weak shoes making contact with the dirt below me. It was a little bit wetter than I would of liked but anything to get away for the time. Lead-in Red, I got him closer to the river before taking the rein and knotting it to a branch before I walked over to the river, kneeling down in the clay of mud, looking at the clear water that ran smoothly down stream.

Everything seemed to wash away as I looked at my reflection in the water, a few tiny bruises visible, but it was nothing bad. Closing my eyes, I parted my lips, letting my voice come out, words flowing out to the sudden tune from the birds.

I kept on pushing through

Standing resolute which you

In equal measure

Loved and hated

You take me by the hand

I'm seeing who I am

Teach me how to fight

I'll show you how to win

You're my mortal flaw

And I'm your fatal sin

Let me feel the sting

The pain

The burn

Under my skin

Put me to the test

I'll prove that I'm strong

Won't let myself believe

That what we feel is wrong

I Finally see what

You knew was inside me

All along

That behind this soft exterior

Lies a warrior

I normally hated singing, but with no one being around, I let it out, ignoring the mud and the water that was getting my pants wet, rain starting to fall harder as I opened my eyes, looking up towards the sky, seeing the sliver lines of rain fall, plashing onto my face.

"You got one beautiful voice sweetie." A voice said behind.

I quickly stood up and spun around, my heart leaping into my throat as I saw who it was, my body slowly breaking out into shivers.

Standing next to Red, dressed in a nice black dress shirt, a few buttons undone, his black hair lightly combed over stood Deadlock, a hand placed on Red as he just looked at me, his eyes clear for once of any emotion.

"How-" I squeaked, backing up slowly, my breathing fast as I kept my full attention towards him.

"Relax and please don't wet yourself, your lucky I found you instead of Chase." He said, moving away from Red and towards me, a slight limp appearing with his right leg as he moved a little towards me, his hands in his black dress pant pockets.

I backed up more, the whole world seeming to spin. Without even thinking, I turned around, barely reaching the edge of the river before a strong hand grabbed my elbow, lightly pulling me back. I tried to pull away, but his grip only tightened before he spoke, his voice soft and smooth.

"Sky, please-"

"Don't call me Sky! Don't even speak to me!" I yelled, causing the birds to fly from their trees and into the pouring sky.

His eyes didn't feel with anger, he only looked at me before he let go, his hand returning to his side.

"Alright, Miss Oaks, I know you are angry, but it would be wise for you to come back with me. Hill isn't home right now and if he found out what you have done, you would be asking for a death wish. So if you would please come back with me, I will work something out with Chase and make sure Hill doesn't lay a finger on you." He spoke, his voice not raising once.

I only looked at him, he was way too calm. But as I looked more at him, I realized he wasn't playing, his face staying serious as he just looked at me, waiting for me to fight back or say something that would give him the all go to lift me up and take me back.

I took an easy breath before looking down, Deadlock only raised a eyebrow. "I can't go back." I whispered, hearing him move closer to me.

"Why can't you? Is something-what happen to your arm?" He suddenly asked, lightly taking my right arm into his, his eyes looking over it.

I quickly pulled it out of his touch, holding it against my body, looking away. "Nothing, I-I just fell." I said, hoping he didn't know that was a lie.

"You fell? I'm having a very hard time believing that." He said, folding his arms over his chest, looking down at me.

I didn't answer. I was tired of talking, it seem to just cause a conversation with the last person on earth I wanted to be with. "Come on cherry, lets get back before Chase thinks something is wrong." He said, slowly making his way over to Red, but walked behind the tree, coming back with the same black horse Chase was on, its mane long and curly as it followed Deadlock, it's hoofs powerful going through the thick mud. Not saying a word, I slowly moved forward, watching as he took the reins attached to Red, pulling himself up onto the tall black creature, looking at me.

"Come on." He said softly. I moved forward and used Red's mane to pull myself up onto him. Having no control over Red, I lightly held onto Red's mane as we moved forward, Deadlock sending both his horse and Red to a slow trot, keeping a free hand on Red's reins.

I looked back at the trees as they slowly went by, the rain starting to down pour once again.

"You little-" Was the first thing I heard as I entered the house, Deadlock behind me as he closed the door. I looked up as Chase came towards me, his eyes full of fire as he stopped just inches in front of me.

"You-you are so lucky I didn't find you. Just wait tell my father-"

"Chase, that's enough." Deadlock said, stepping forward, his voice powerful.

Chase breathed heavily through his nose before he looked at me, I swear, if Deadlock wasn't with me, I would be dead.

"Skyler, go upstairs and put the dress on that my father wants you to wear for the party tonight." He growled, stepping off the side.

I moved slowly past him, reaching over and taking something from the side of his belt. Having the object in my hand, I quickly moved up the stairs.

When I entered the room, nobody else was in the room, giving me a perfect chance. Closing the door behind me, I walked over to the window where I had slept, a box waiting for me in the dark. I lightly set the object down and removed the cover to the box, my eyes going wide to what waited inside. It was beautiful. Wasting no time, I put the dress on, the purple fabric holding my side with a nice silver belt as it pressed against my skin. After the dress was on, I picked up the necklace, a shape of a butterfly catching my eye as I held it up, looking at it for a second before I put it on. The shoes were a nice white, pattern's in them that showed my feet a little, it was the perfect dress.

Taking a deep breath, I picked up the object, the cold metal pressing against my body, causing a shiver to run through as I looked at it. I had lost hope, nobody was going to find us and there was no way I wanted to live my life as a slave. Taking a deep breath, I heard someone swear before the sound of pounding feet took place, I knew it was time to pull the trigger. Lifting up the gun, I had gotten it just to my temple before the door opened, my name yelled.

"Skyler, don't!"
