Chapter 27: Truth

I thought a knife had been put in me and my lungs were broken. Seeing his blue eyes looking at me, I thought I was having a panic attack. The last time I had seen him, was in the court interview room, his body in an orange jumpsuit, but now, dirt covered clothes were over his deadly pale skin, his eyes locked on me as I felt like I was frozen, my brain going into mush. As I was trying to pull myself back together, Mr. Hill walked over to him, pulling something out of his pocket before forcing it around Chip's neck, a faint click taking place before a beep followed, Hill placed his hand on Chip's shoulder.

"The collar well shock you in 5 minutes after I leave the room, that means that after that, no more talking unless I turn the collar off, so enjoy these few minutes of talking." He said, laughing as he reached up and yanked the chains upward, causing Chip to let out a very loud and painful cry. I moved my eyes from Chip to Hill, watching as he laughed to himself as he walked away from Ayden, stopping by me, his dark eyes focused on me.

"And after this is done, you'll start your first job." He said, before walking away, the basement door slamming shut seconds later.

I swallowed as I looked at Chip, seeing the collar like thing around his neck buzz before a green light turned on, Chip letting out a moan, his black hair a mess. We both stood in silence, the room going from cold to hot real quick, was the five minutes up yet? I looked around the room, it was like it had been pulled from a horror movie, the only light was coming from a candle and that looked like that was close to done.

"I'm sorry..." A soft but scratch voice spoke, making me look up to see Chip looking at me, his blue orbs soft, but yet, broken.

Confused, I looked around, before looking back at him, seeing him look down. Slowly, I moved over to him, before I knelt down next to him. "Chip." I said, making him look at me, his eyes showing the pain he was in. "Why are you sorry?" I asked. I wasn't really playing with him, I didn't know why he said he was sorry.

Blinking, I saw him swallow, before he looked down at his legs. "For all of this...." He said, trying to move his arms, but the chains kept them above his head in an x-form, leaving him helpless. "For all of this, for all of this.." He said, closing his eyes and shaking his head.

Looking around, I looked back him, taking a breath before I spoke. "Why is your father doing this? Keeping you locked in this room like you're a wild dog?" I said, seeing him swallow as he looked at me.

"Remember before I got shot? You said something, do you remember what you said?" He spoke lightly, his eyes staying towards me as I looked down, trying to remember what he said. That was when it hit me, his mom.

Looking back up at him, I spoke. "Is this about your mom?" I said, seeing his eyes dancing with a sudden emotion.

"She wasn't a mistress like everyone thinks she was, she was just like you, normal." He said, using the word like it was some type of human.

"She was about 18 I think, my da-devil of a father was 19 and his father had bought him my mom, Bethany Cook, to teach him how to become a Master and well, he did more than just make her a servant, but a mother." He looked down before looking back up.

"When I was 2, she gave birth to my younger brother, Chase, and don't even ask me about him." He said, looking away, making me wonder why.

"When I was jsut 5, I was coming down the stairs when I heard this loud scream. I thought it was just a bird until I looked around to find my mom on the ground, blood around her body, my father standing over her body with a gun." His voice echoed softly through the room, his head still turned away.

"From there, he told everyone that they were attacked and the attackers killed her to give a message to him. He always acted, and here I was, a simple 6 year old, knowing the truth, but yet, all the adults would just pat his back, telling him it was okay, knowing that wasn't he saw. Over the years, I always kept it locked away, the image of her body, my father standing over her, haunting me when I ever even thought of him." He said, his voice cracking, showing he was fighting to not cry. "She died because my

father thought she was taking him over, slowly controlling him, so he took the gun and finished it, thinking it would solve the problem."

Finally, he turned his head towards me, tears on his cheeks. "When I saw you, you reminded me of her, that's why I acted like a jerk around you, I didn't want you, or any of the others fall into his hands, so I planned something that well, made the dragon breath more fire than ever and now here we are. I'm still alive, wishing he did put the bullet in me, and you, hurt, because of me." He mumbled, kicking his leg on the ground, the chains hitting against the wall.

"Ayden." I said, not knowing what to say, but as I was about to say something, Chip bet me to it. "I'm really sorry, Sky." And as if he know it was going to happen, the collar shocked him, Chip letting out a cry as the green light went to red, tears falling from Chip's eyes as his body shook a little from the shock.

Stunned by the sudden event, I turned my head to something walking down the stairs, Mr. Hill coming to a stop at the bottom step, his hands placed in his pockets as his eyes danced between a sweating Chip and I.

"Times up little love birds. Sky, please come." He said, turning around and heading up the stairs.

Looking at Chip, I saw him holding his eyes shut as his chest went up fast, tears lightly falling. As I stood up, lightly brushing the tears away, specking.

"We'll both get out of this, I promise." I said softly, seeing him open his eyes, his mouth moving like he wanted to speak but he didn't say anything.

Looking at him one last time, I turned around and walked away, slowly going up the stairs, looking up to see Hill waiting at the top, a phone right in his hand that his fingers were typing away on. When I got to the top, I kept on looking at the phone, until I was pulled from my daze when he cleared his throat, making me look up.

"I would erase any idea Miss Oaks, it would save me the anger and you the pain. Clear?" He said, sliding the phone into his pocket, his eyebrows raised as he waited for my answer.

"Clear." I mumbled, Mr. Hill nodded his head, starting to walk.

I just followed, seeing Brett with Heath as they both looked at a couch, Heath saying something and Brett only nodded, but still rubbing his chin. His eyes moving to see Hill causing him lower his hand and nodded his head, Hill just waved his hand at him and continuing to walk towards the stairs. I kept right behind him, watching as he went every two steps, his black shoes lightly touching the steps as he reached the second floor, not even waiting for me as he turned and made his way down the hall. I quickly walked after him, seeing that at the end of the hall, where to set of doors, almost like store doors, but wood, a medal lion head above the doors as Hill came to a stop, pulling a chain of keys out of his pocket, selecting a key before he pushed into a keyhole, twisting it a few times before a click was heard.

I watched as he pulled it open, hitting something, the room quickly, lightly up, my heart leaping when I saw what was inside.

"I need every single book in here, organized, in alphabetical to make it clear." He said, watching as I looked around.

There had to be at least more than a thousand books, some on the ground well others filled the shelves, I thought I was going to pass out.

"Now, Miss Oaks, I don't have any other date I want this down so for the time being, you are going to be organizing every single book until I think that you have done a job, get to work. I'll have some food brought to you later." And with that, Mr. Hill turned around and left the room, leaving me to stand in a daze, my mouth still lightly gapped from seeing all of the books. For most, this would be heck, but honestly, this was going to be quite calming.

Walking over to the first shelf, I pulled the first book out.

Agent Wolfe's POV

"Charles?" A voice spoke, making Agent Wolfe turn his head around and look at a women who stood before him, a white lab jacket over her dress.

Setting down his pencil, he turned around in his office chair. "Yes?" He said, seeing the women swallow before speaking.

"Doctor Robin would like you to come to the autopsy right way." She said Agent Wolfe slightly puzzled, but he only nodded, standing up and making his way towards the autopsy, trying to figure out what he was needed for.

As he walked out of the room, he looked towards one of the rooms, he saw Mr. Oaks, who was trying to talk to Noah who seemed like he was going to flip any minute. He would have to get back with them as soon as he found out what the problem was in the autopsy.

Getting to the doors, he pushed them open, the smell of the room greating, making him have to swallow as he walked.

"Robin, what is the problem?" He asked, stopping, his eyes moving to look at the body his friend was working on, seeing it was Izzy Toland.

Quickly, the man looked over his shoulder, his eyes landing on Agnet Wolfe. "Charles! Glad you came fast." He said, quickly setting down his clipboard and removing one of his gloves. "I know you are busy, but this is something I have a feeling you need to know." He said, lightly removing the sheets from the body's face a little more.

"What's the problem?" He said, his eyes staying on the young girl.

"Well, I wanted to run over everything to make sure this was Izzy Toland. And so far everything has added up, but two things." He said, grabbing the clipboard again and handing it to Agent Wolfe who took it and read over was written down.

September 12,

Cleaning of victim Izzy Toland's hair as lead to blond hairs started to appear and gloves have slowly starting to become covered in an orange brown color. The notes say the victim's hair is a full dark brown and never appeared to color her hair. Also, it is said the victim had two cavities, on the lower and upper jaw each. 4 other cavities have been founded, nothing in dentist notes about them.

Looking up, Charles looked at the body that was before him, his eyes locked on her face.

"Agent Wolfe, I also have something else that I thought you wanted to see for your own eyes." Robin spoke, Charles watched as Robin picked up one of the hands, pointed at her fingers and palm.

"I also took notice that the skin was peeling off of her fingers but as I got a closer look, it seemed like it's all one big piece, see." He said, his gloved hand pilling at some skin, but the skin under it seemed to be normal, and not red.

Leaning forward, Agent Wolfe watched as Robin took of a good amount of skin, setting it on the tray, Agent Wolfe quickly taking notice that there was some type of pattern.

"What's that pattern on it?" He asked, bending over and looking at it.

"That is almost like a glove, but it has the real Izzy's fingers prints formed on it, after I got all of it off this young lady's other hand, I scanned it." He said, lightly placing the hand back on the table and walking over to a computer were he typed something up, before stepping off to the side, letting Agent Wolfe read the screen, his eyes going lightly large.

"This isn't Izzy Toland?" He said, looking at the body, not believing what he was being told.

Leaning against the table, Robin rubbed his chin before looking over at the body, seeing Agent Wolfe was still stunned.

"Izzy Toland could still be alive."
