Chapter 19: Beast
Mr. Hill's POV
"Master Hill." A soft voice spoke, making Ryan let out a moan, slowly sitting up and squinting his eyes to look towards his bedroom door that was opened, a figure standing by it. He knew who it was by the voice. Looking at the clock, he swore when he saw what time it was.
"Lucy." He growled, seeing her figure flinch at his growl.
"You know better than to wake me up." He said slowly sitting up.
"S-sir, I'm sorry. It's just your son, has been yelling this word and I can't fall asleep." She said and Mr. Hill took an easy breath in. Maybe he should of had Ayden killed.
"What is the word." He demanded.
"Gr-gris" She said, Mr. Hill running his hand over his face in anger.
"Go back to your room." He said and watched as her tiny figure quickly left and he got out of bed, heading upstairs towards the room he kept Ayden in.
When he pushed the door opened, only the dim light from the fireplace showed where Chip was, his light blue eyes filled with anger when Mr. Hill came into sight. Stepping into the room, he closed the door behind him, he turned back towards his son. Son, the one thing he sometimes hated the word. Chip's hair was ruffled up, tomato soup sticking to the tips of it. Walking over to the fireplace, he grabbed at some wood and tossed it into the pit, the fire sparking, making the room light up a little more.
"Pig? Really?" He finally said, turning to look at his son who glared right back at him.
Mr. Hill growled, grabbing the end of a chair and yelling at Chip who only raised his chin at him. "You better start talking before I knock you out so hard, you'll forget everything!" He hissed and Chip lips just twisted into a snarl.
"I have to go." He said and Mr. Hil raised a brow at him, Chip not moving a muscle.
Mr. Hill just laughed. "You have to go? Go where? Back to that slave girl?" He snarled, seeing the flash of the fire light across his son's face.
"Not that you idiot." He fired back, Ryan just shoking his head as he slowly made his way over to Chip, who didn't flinch.
"Go where then?" He asked, stopping in front of his son, locking eyes with him.
Chip just looked away, before looking back. "Unless you want a mess to clean up." He growled and Mr. Hill soon realized what he was saying. Rubbing his temple, he sighed in anger, looking at Chip who waited for an answer.
Taking in a breath, he walked over to Chip, Chip's eyes following him until Mr. Hill stood behind him, leaning in towards his ear and whispering. "If you so much as think you can take me, I would rethink that real quick." He said before grabbing at Chip's left hand, taking the strap off, but keeping a strong grip on it as he grabbed his other wrist, getting it free before he brought them together and pulled out the rope to his robe and tying it around his wrists before he brought them together and tied them together, Chip looking at his father, his eyes watching his father's movements. After Mr. Hill made sure there was no way Chip would be able to use his hands, he undid the other straps, pulling Chip to his feet.
Mr. Hill kept close to Chip, watching him closely as they got closer to the bathroom, Chip's body seeming to be stiffen when they got closer and closer. When they stopped by the door, Chip looked at Mr. Hill, who stayed in place, raising his voice above a whisper.
"Five minutes. If you're not out, I'm going to bust down that door." he growled, catching something in his son's eyes, but he wasn't able to pinpoint it as it quickly disappeared.
"Whatever you say, Master Hil." His voice giving off a challenge that made Mr. Hill growl at him, watching as he walked into the bathroom, the door closing behind, leaving Mr. Hill to count down the minutes.
Chip's POV
After making sure the door was closed, Chip quickly got to work on the robe's rope on his wrists, smiling that his father had been so stupid. Getting the rope off, he quietly walked over to the door, where he started tying it around the doorknob, tying the other side onto the towel holder making it a slight stop for his escape. After that was done, he went over to the window, checking the latches, narrowing his eyes when he realized there was none. Stepping onto the window seal, he checked the whole window, quietly growling to see there was no hatches to open it up. That meant there was only one other way, he had to break it. Stepping off the window seal, he looked back at the door, trying to go through his plans, his father was going to hear him smash this which only gave him a few minutes to run, which meant, he had to be fast. Getting his fist ready, he took an easy breath in, looking at the window.
"I'm coming Skyler." He whispered before he sent a hard punch to the glass. The glass shattering in seconds and Chip climbed through it, looking at the dark sky above him before he looked back to see the door shaking back and forth, his father yelling his name but Chip ignored it as he jumped from the roof and heading into the unknown forest around him.
Skyler's POV
I looked up when I heard voices talking as they slowly got closer, the door opening to a woman with Deadlock, who shot me a warning glance as he talked to her, taking her to my brother. I took notice how Deadlock seemed to be soft around her, laughing here and there around her, a small smile across his lips.
"That's good Dr. William, we can talk more after you take a look at this slave for me." He said, raising his hand and pointing towards Noah, his eyes moving towards me. I just looked away.
She walked towards the side of the bed, setting down something before she slowly reached across and opened his mouth, pulling out a tiny flashlight that she shinned down his throat, before she moved over to his chest, seeing all the hives, her eyes going slightly large before she looked towards Deadlock.
"What happened to get him like this?" She asked, Deadlock looked away, running his hand through his hair.
"When we were taking them, I had Calum give them a sleep drug to help calm them, but the kid didn't wake up the time I thought he was suppose to, that was when I noticed, all of those." He said looking at her and the lady shook her head, placing a hand on Noah's leg.
"Alright, I'll see what I can do, not sure if there is much, but I'll get him to wake up soon." She said, Deadlock shifted his feet and nodding. "I'll be downstairs if you need me." He said, making his way towards the door, his eyes looking at me for a split second before he left the room, my head turning towards the lady when she cleared her throat.
"And I'm guessing you're a sibling of this boy." She said, looking at me, before she reached into her bag and pulled things out.
I looked towards the door, not seeing Deadlock before I quietly answered her question.
"Yes." I said, watching as she pulled the blanket away from his chest, poking a needle into his chest and inserting something before she pulled the needle out. Setting it off to the side.
"What's his name?" She asked, rubbing something over his chest, grabbing a white bandage and wrapping his chest and up, up, looking at me as I watched her do so.
As much as I didn't want to say his name, I said it. "His names Noah." I said, looking away.
She only nodded, checking his forehead, pulling her hand up and heading towards the door, leaving me alone with Noah for a second. I had to choke the tears back as I looked at him, this was all my fault, Noah wouldn't be in this if I had sent him to do something, now I had to make sure that no one wouldn't put a finger on him, which meet I had to listen, to Deadlock, and to anyone. Yeah, this was going to be heck.
Chip's POV
Chip moved through the dark forest slowly, stepping over sticks to not draw any attention towards himself. Taking a light step over a few sticks, he placed his hand on a tree trunk, looking around. Everything looked the same, dark and unknown. Scanning the area, he glanced over his shoulder, scanning the trees behind him, trying to see if anyone was watching. When he was about to turn back forward, he froze in place when he heard a deep growl.
"Mercy." He whispered as he slowly moved his head, his eyes landing on a wolf a few feet away from him, its head lowered, ears pulled back as its white fangs showed he was going to be the next meal.
The beast let out another growl, his pale tongue running across its teeth as it eyed him, getting ready to jump at him if he made a move. Chip scanned around him, looking for anything that would possibly help him, and his life. When he saw a large tree branch a few feet away, he looked at the beast, its tail high in the air, ears pinned back, he was running out of time. Wait, didn't wolves normally attack with a pack? He looked around, trying to find any eyes that might be waiting to attack and when the wolf gave another aggressive, loud growl, Chip know he had to dive for the stick or die at the fangs of the beast. Taking one glance at the beast, looking at its blood thirsty eyes, he dived for the branch, the wolf leaping at him.
Chip quickly got the large branch in his hands and brought it up over his face, just in time as the wolf jumped on top of him, locking its powerful jaws around the stick, digging its claws into Chip making him wince. With one would kick, he brought his leg up and kicked the wolf off, sending it crashing onto the ground before it quickly got up, growling even harder.
"I only made you more mad." He said as he got onto his feet, seeing the blood was coming from above his knee. He looked back up just in time to see the wolf leap at him, and knowing he was going to be sorry, he took off running, the stick in hand.
Chip leaped over everything, trying to find a way to stop the anger beast from attacking him, but the wolf was still hot onto him, barking and growling hard as Chip was struggling from losing all of the blood in his leg. Stopping, he fixed the stick in his hand and when he saw the beast was close, he brought the stick back and swung, the stick smacking into its head, making it let out a loud yelp as it rolled back. Slowly sitting up, it shook its head and when it saw Chip, it whimpered and slowly backed off, Chip taking a threatening step forward that made it go running. Letting out heavy breaths, he dropped the stick at his side and grabbed at his leg, grimacing in pain. Just as he stood back up straight, something slammed him against a tree, knocking the wind right out of him.
Trying to get air back into him, he heard what sounded like a tongue being clicked on the roof of a mouth. "Ayden, Ayden, Ayden." The voice said and when Chip tried to see who it was, they pressed his body harder against the tree, making his leg light up with pain.
Gloved hands grabbed at his wrists, forcing them behind his back, one hand, keeping them together before Chip felt metal being locked around his wrists. He then was spun around, his back being pressed into the tree, Chip's eyes landed on the figure who stood before him, dressed in pure black, only his blood hair showing. "Dante?" Chip said, seeing a smile form on his old friend's lips. "What- unlock me right now, I-mu!" Just as he was about to say more, a sock was shoved into his mouth, holding his tongue back. His eyes went wide when Dante pulled his hand back, realizing what his friend was doing.
"Sorry Ayden, but your dad is like a time bomb and I really don't want to see what a Mr. Hill on a war path looks like, so please, just don't try spitting the sock out or I'll take one of mine and shove it in there." He said, Chip just shaking his head, trying to figure out what was going on.
Patting his shoulder, he looked down at Chip's leg, before he looked up to meet Chip's eyes. "And I'm pretty sure he's going to be really happy about that." He said and Chip just swallowed. "Come one, let's get heading back to the house." He said, reaching behind and take hold of Chip's cuffed hands, leading him back through the forest to the place he was trying to get away from.
