Questions:

1: Why does Cedar always seem to have rage built up inside?
2: Why is Cedar so nervous?
3: Why does Cedar feel safe around Midnight?

Good questions. Shall we?

Cedar is almost well known for being the most unstable person in Aloje. In fact, he was removed from the Aloje Coven's home in order for them to be safe. So many of his actions are due to the fact that he is an extremely unstable Covenant that could cause world domination with one wrong move.

(And this is why he's not allowed to play RISK)

That constant rage can be triggered in one of three ways.

1: Being trapped.

He can't stand it. You think being trapped is bad? Picture yourself in his shoes. He sees the same thing as you, but he also sees the shadows creeping up on him and shows his past and his potential future. This has led to him not liking being trapped and trying to escape the minute he is.

2: Seeing allies in pain.

Sure, you could say everyone gets mad at this. But because his Coven hates pain, they have banned it. So being a good Covenant, he has sworn to only cause violence unless needed. Well... when you are watching your allies fall to the hands of the enemy when they are supposed to be the stronger people, that can make someone like Cedar bring out the rage.

3: Another feeling.

Cedar only has a few feelings; Happy, scared, tired, shy and blank. Mad doesn't hit unless something triggers it. The biggest emotion outside his main five that leads to his rage is confusion. Sad, jealous, and stressed are some others that can get his rage out. Anything else you can think of are minor causes. So if it's not something he's used to, his rage takes over to hide it and keep him from learning about it.

As for why he was scared...

Cedar knows four things about life: Rules, Spells, Species and Pokemon. He also knows three topics: Rangers, Trainers, and Covens. Anything outside of those things are completely new to him. So he gets nervous about it. And that leads to a long list of other things.

So since he has never experienced something like the Doctor, he got scared instantly.

The reason he felt safe around Midnight has three reasons. And I'll just say that I might be a little wrong because everything I found only said it was a possibility.

1: Midnight's experience.

Midnight, despite being the youngest member of both the Rangers and the Dexters at the time of Aloje, has the most valuable experience. He trained himself to be able to handle people and take care of the world. So taking that knowledge, he knows what he's doing in keeping Cedar in a safe position.

2: Aura.

This is random, but some people were suggesting it might have been aura. I mean, Midnight and Cedar have extremely powerful auras. But I highly doubt aura is the reasoning here. My only question is what aura? Midnight has three powerful auras. And that's just the surface.

3: Bond.

This might be a little better to understand. Cedar and Midnight have more of a parent-child like bond than anything else. But more times than not, Midnight plays the older role and takes care of Cedar.
