After the pooja, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and positivity. Kavya, dressed in her cute little traditional outfit, was holding the prasad plate in her hands with utmost concentration. She moved around the room, offering prasad to everyone with a beaming smile, her innocence radiating. Her small hands carefully passed each person their share, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Karan's mom watched her from the corner, her heart feeling a strange pull toward the little girl. There was something about Kavya that she couldn't quite explain, a natural warmth that made her smile without even realizing it. She took the prasad from Kavya, her fingers lightly brushing against the child's, and she couldn't help but feel a wave of affection for her, though she had no idea that Kavya was, in fact, her granddaughter.

Meanwhile, Karan's dad, who knew the truth, knelt down in front of Kavya with a playful grin. "My princess......" he teased, looking at her with a wink, knowing full well the real connection they shared. He ruffled her hair affectionately, and Kavya giggled, clearly enjoying the attention from her Dadu.

As Kavya continued her rounds, she approached Reva and Shilpa, who stood with stern faces, clearly still holding onto their reservations. Kavya, being the sweet little girl she was, didn't hesitate. With her innocent eyes and a bright smile, she extended the prasad plate to them.

"Aunty, prasad," she said, her voice soft and innocent.

Reva and Shilpa exchanged a glance, both trying to maintain their stern expressions, but there was something about Kavya's sweetness that melted their resolve. They tried to hold back their smiles but couldn't help it. Slowly, they took the prasad from Kavya's hand, and for a brief moment, their stern faces softened, the warmth in their eyes betraying their smiles.

Reva reluctantly smiled saying, " Thanku Kavya"

Teju, standing nearby, couldn't help but notice the subtle changes in Reva and Shilpa's expressions. Though they tried to hide it, she could see their hearts softening toward Kavya. And for Teju, that was a small but significant victory. She gave a contented smile, watching her daughter bond with Karan's  family, and for the first time in a long while, everything felt just a little bit more right.

As everyone was heading out, Kavya's eyes instinctively searched for her papa. She noticed Karan walking out of the room, holding Harsh's hand while Preet walked beside them, all three of them chatting and laughing.

The sight of them walking together made Kavya's little heart sink. Her small lips parted in a quiet pout, her eyes flickering with a mix of confusion and sadness. She wanted her papa all to herself. Why did he always have to be with Harsh and Preet?

Her emotions were written all over her face as she stood there, her tiny hands clutching the edge of the door frame, watching them leave. A soft sigh escaped her, and for a moment, she felt a wave of loneliness wash over her. She couldn't help but wonder why her papa couldn't be just with her, like he used to.

Just then, Manik, her Chachu, noticed the little girl standing alone with her sad expression. He made his way over to her with his usual playful grin, trying to lighten her mood. "Kavu..., what's this long face? Papa aajayenge jaldi....abhi ke liye u have ur chachu na..." he said, scooping her up into his arms with ease.

Kavya looked up at him, the sadness still lingering in her eyes, but there was a flicker of hope. Manik, knowing exactly how to cheer her up, started tickling her sides, making funny faces as he did so. Kavya's giggles slowly began to fill the room, the sound of her laughter like a balm to her aching heart.

As if on cue, Reyansh appeared from behind, his mischievous grin matching Manik's. He rushed to join in, jumping up and down and making silly sounds. "Papa....aap isse Kavu nhi bol sakte ........only i can call her Kavu" he exclaimed, bouncing around her in circles.

manik chuckled saying, " okay boss"

Kavya couldn't help but to laugh

As the laughter from Kavya, Manik, and Reyansh filled the room, Karan walked in, his eyes immediately narrowing with playful intensity as he caught sight of Reyansh and Kavya.

"Back off, little Malhotra," Karan said in a teasing yet possessive tone, his glare focused on Reyansh, who was holding Kavya's hand.

Reyansh, who was clearly enjoying the teasing, gave a cheeky grin. "Karan chachu...mai toh bas Kavu ko smile karwa raha tha....!" he said, trying to defend himself in the most innocent way possible.

Manik, who had been standing by and watching the playful exchange, couldn't resist jumping in. "Oh please, Karan, don't worry! mera bete teri beti ke liye hai na.....," Manik teased, winking at Karan. " aab ye baat man lo ki u have  some competition"

Karan rolled his eyes dramatically, his frustration mixing with affection.

Karan turned to her, his face softening, and without missing a beat, he walked over to Kavya, scooping her up in his arms. Then he went near Teju and his expression was pure adoration as he kissed the top of her head and whispered, "love u ladoo" before looking up at Teju, his eyes filled with tenderness.

As he did, Manik, who had a camera in hand, couldn't resist capturing the moment. With a wide grin on his face, he clicked the perfect shot of Karan holding Kavya, both of them smiling, while Karan leaned down to kiss Teju's forehead, all three of them radiating warmth and love.

"Perfect family shot," Manik said cheekily, looking at the photo he had just taken, the photo capturing the moment of pure happiness and love. "Credits muje dena mat bhulna..."

Karan shot him a mock glare, but his heart swelled with happiness as he held Kavya close.

Teju just smiled, her heart full as she watched her little family—Karan, Kavya, and herself—standing there, basking in the love and bond they shared.

Karan sat down on the couch next to Teju, his face lighting up with excitement as he turned to her. "Ladoo..kal se Kavu ka school start hoga...," he said with a proud smile.

Kavya, who had been playing with her toys nearby, immediately froze at the mention of school. She dramatically dropped her toy, falling onto the floor with a sigh, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. "Ugh! School! noooo!" she groaned, kicking her feet in exaggerated frustration. "Pls papa..no school!"

Karan couldn't help but laugh at her antics. "Come on, princess, school toh jana hoga na...aapke bohot sare friends banege na...!" he teased, amused by her drama.

Teju rolled her eyes playfully and shot Kavya a mock glare. "Kavya....school ke baare mai aaisa nhi bolte........." she said in her best stern voice, trying to hide her smile.

Kavya shot her mom a pout, still not convinced. "par mumma..muje fun karna hai....school mai bore hoga !" she whined, giving her a pleading look.

Reyansh, who had been listening to the conversation from the other side of the room, perked up at the mention of school. He rushed over to Kavya with a grin. "Kavu...dont worry...hum same school mai hai," he said, poking her side. "and also same division....."

Kavya's eyes widened, her pout slowly fading as a smile replaced it. "sachi? same school and same division??" she asked excitedly, now fully on board with the idea of school.

"ha...bohot maza aayega!" Reyansh replied, giving her a thumbs up.

Kavya jumped up from her seat, running over to Reyansh to give him a hug. "Yay! agar Rey hai toh muje tension nhi hai !" she cheered, her earlier resistance completely forgotten.

Teju and Karan exchanged amused glances, both of them chuckling at how quickly Kavya had warmed up to the idea of school once she knew Reyansh would be there.

Teju smiled lovingly at them both, her heart full. "Looks like someone's excited now" she said, teasing Kavya, who was still hugging Reyansh.

Kavya grinned, her earlier drama completely forgotten. " i guess maza aayega school mai" she said, her voice full of excitement as she bounced around.

Karan laughed, shaking his head. " sure princess .

Kavya sat on the couch, swinging her legs back and forth, her eyes wide with innocence as she looked up at Karan. "Papa," she asked softly, her voice filled with a little hope. " aap aaoge school kal muje drop karne?"

Karan froze for a moment, his mind instantly racing. He exchanged a quick glance with Teju. Both of them knew that walking out together in public, especially in this society, was risky. They were both public figures, and with the paparazzi always lurking around, any wrong move could easily escalate into a scandal. They had to be careful.

Karan took a deep breath, trying to hide his internal conflict. He knelt down in front of Kavya, placing his hands gently on her small shoulders. " i know..aab chahte ho ki mai aau par..bet.a.yaha na...bohot sare logo ke eyes hum pe rehete hai....so hume ye secret relation chupake rakhan hai na..agar aapko aur muje sath dekh liya..ya muej aur mumma ko sath dekh liya kisine toh problem ho jayegi na....so....mai nhi aapaunga"

Kavya's face immediately dropped. Her small hands clenched into fists, and her lower lip trembled slightly as the excitement faded from her expression. She didn't fully understand the complexities, but the sadness in her eyes was clear. "par papa.....aap aajao na..pls..muej aapke aur mumma ke sath jana hai"

Karan's heart ached seeing her like that, and he looked up at Teju for support. Teju's heart melted as she saw the sadness in Kavya's eyes. She knew Karan's hands were tied, and he wanted nothing more than to be there for Kavya, but the situation was far from simple.

Teju stood up from the couch, walking over to where Kavya sat. She gently knelt down beside her daughter, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "baby..papa toh aapke dil mai rehete hi hai na...aur mai hu na.....i will make sure aap ache se school jao......okay?

Kavya looked up at Teju, still a little unsure, but the reassurance in her mother's voice made her feel a little better. "Okay?" she said, her voice small, still uncertain.

The morning sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room as Teju helped Kavya get ready for her first day of school in India. Kavya, usually full of energy, seemed unusually quiet, her small face clouded with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. She fiddled nervously with her uniform, her little hands unsure of what to do.

Teju gently adjusted the collar of Kavya's shirt, her voice soft and reassuring. "Don't worry, baby," she said, her tone soothing. "It's just a new school..i am sure..meri baby sabki fav ban jayegi"

Kavya bit her lip, her eyes wide. "But Mumma," she said hesitantly, " ye US school jaisa nhi hai..vaha uniform bhi nhi tha..aur ye....muje nhi pasand....sab kitna alag hai yaha " Her voice wavered as she spoke, the unfamiliarity of the new school culture making her nervous.

Teju smiled, brushing a strand of hair out of Kavya's face. "It's okay, darling," she reassured her, her heart swelling with love for her little girl. "tum adjust kar logi...... The teachers, the kids—they're all going to love you. And, you know what? mai aur aapke papa hai na....hamesha apake liye...."

Teju kissed the top of Kavya's head, feeling the weight of the moment. It was a new chapter, one that would take time to unfold, but they would face it together—strong, no matter what.

"Now, let's get you to school, okay?" Teju whispered.

As they finished getting Kavya ready, Teju's heart swelled with pride, even as she tried to hide the worry in her own heart. She only hoped that everything would go smoothly—today, and every day after.

..........................................................................................................................................................

As Teju and Kavya made their way downstairs, the soft patter of their footsteps echoed through the house.  But as they reached the bottom of the staircase, they saw Reva and Shilpa standing near the door, clearly waiting.

Reva gave a dramatic eye roll as she looked at Teju, her disapproval clear in her posture. Shilpa mirrored her reaction, crossing her arms as if to show her silent judgment.

However, the moment their eyes fell on Kavya, something shifted. The two women looked at the little girl, standing tall in her uniform, her hair neatly tied and her eyes wide with curiosity.

For a brief second, the tension in the room seemed to ease, and they both softened, almost imperceptibly. Kavya's innocence and charm had a way of disarming even the sternest faces.

Teju watched this quietly, knowing that one small act of kindness could, over time, change the hearts of even the most skeptical. "Come on, baby," she said to Kavya, gently taking her hand. "Let's go .......varna late hojayenge"

As Teju and Kavya stepped out of the house, ready for their school adventure, Teju's excitement was met with a sudden jolt. She stopped in her tracks, eyes widening when she saw the car's flat tire. She let out a small sigh, her mood dampening slightly.

Kavya, who was holding onto her hand, looked up at her with concern. "Mumma, kya hua??"

Before Teju could respond, a dramatic voice rang out from behind them.

"Oh my God, a puncture! ye kaise hua? kisne kiya ye?? " Karan's dad, with his usual flair, appeared from behind, his hands raised in mock horror. He took one glance at the tire and then looked at Teju and Kavya.

Teju couldn't help but roll her eyes, knowing exactly who was responsible. She glanced at Karan's dad, her suspicion clear.

Karan, who had been walking behind them, looked at his dad with an exaggerated look of knowing frustration. His gaze said it all, "I know you did this, Dad." ( whispered to him)

karan;s dad glares him whispering ," ha aur zor se bol taki puri duniya ko pata chal jaye..."

karan rolled his eyes.

Karan's dad, ever the master of playing innocent, held up his hands in mock surrender. "What? Kavya can't be late on her first day" he said dramatically, clearly enjoying the moment. "Karan, ja...inhe drop karke aaja.... Kavya ka first day "

Karan raised an eyebrow, not convinced by his dad's theatrics, but knowing full well there was no arguing with him when he had that mischievous glint in his eyes.

Reva and Shilpa, who had followed them outside, exchanged disapproving glances. "papa.... Reva said, her arms crossed in a huff. "karan ko kyu drop karne bol rahe ho? cabs nhi hai kya?"

Karan's dad quickly interjected with a wave of his hand, " reva shilpa...chill karo ...sirf drop karne bol raha hu..tum dono aaise react kar rahe ho jaise karan teju aur kavya ke sath bhag raha hai........." His voice dripped with playful sarcasm, and he shot a knowing look at Karan.

Teju bit back a smile at the playful jab, while Karan, with a roll of his eyes, muttered under his breath, "Dad, seriously?"

But despite the tension in the air, Karan's dad seemed oblivious, completely absorbed in his dramatic antics. "Karan," he called again, "ja na..arti karu aab teri?"

Karan looked at Teju and Kavya, his expression softening. " acha okay..aajao Teju..i will drop" ( fake )"

Kavya, still holding Teju's hand, beamed up at her as if the drama around them was just another fun part of the day. "Mumma, papa sach mai aa rahe hai??" she asked excitedly.

Teju chuckled, squeezing her daughter's hand. "Yes, baby,...aapke dadu ne aapki wish puri kar di""
