The setting of the story is a city cut in half by a heavily guarded wall barrier that separates the bad slums and rumble of the low class, letting the higher class live within the barrier.

The cold hearted communist leader of the higher class wants to get rid of the lower class area, so he has a military force that "cleanses" the areas outside of the barrier.

Their objective is to send people to the concentration camps. If the people resist violently, they are shot on the spot.

At the concentration camp the system works where if you can survive being in there for 3 years, you now live within the barrier. The only problem is, only 10%of the people that go in, come out alive; and only 1% that are alive, aren't mentally stable enough.
