Chapter 41.2: Lucy vs. Flare
~★~
Lucy's POV
"You're going to pay for that, bimbo! You, along with that stupid and pathetic guild of yours!" An imaginary vein popped on my head. Did she just insulted me and my guild? I was about to come up with a peevish remark when she suddenly launched her long bright hair underground. Going in defensive, I tried to sense where she was planning on attacking me. If my suspicions are correct, she's probably attempting to catch me off guard. May it be attacking me from behind or from where I least expected it. She might even aim for my feet.
Sighing, I closed my eyes as I tried to decipher the location of her hair. 'No spell is perfect. There will always be glitches. It will always have weaknesses. You just have to find it. Think fast and use your head.' That was what Stella told me once. I tried to search even for the slightest vibration on the ground or the smallest hint of sound. Wasn't disappointed to say the least. Fast approaching, eleven o'clock, i felt the faint movement from beneath the ground. My senses immediately heightened as my body agilely dodged the thick strands of hair that suddenly spurted out of the solid ground. Appearing almost light weight, I performed a graceful back flip, making sure to create a safe distance from her magic hair. She seems to be impatient and really aggravated as she didn't waited for me to land. With a sharp turn of her head, her hair once again attacked me, openly this time. Talk about straightforward. I didn't think twice. The chant just came out of my mouth almost naturally.
"Celestial Dragon's Roar!" As I opened my mouth, a bright golden beam of light bursted out of it. I can't help but smirk smugly when I heard sharp gasps of surprise and shock. Just seeing the horror in Flare's eyes truly satisfied me.
"Celestial Dragon Slaying Magic?! Lucy Heartfilia of Fairy Tail is actually a Dragonslayer?!" One of the announcers howled in disbelief. I wanted to laugh seeing everyone's bewilderment. Especially when I saw my guild mates jaws dropped. They didn't expect it. No one did, actually. And I wouldn't want it any other way. Having the element of surprise on my side really felt amazing.
"Y-You're a.." The frightened Raven Tail member in front of me trailed off, clearly not wanting to believe the bizarre truth.
"You know what I am? An offended Celestial Dragon Slayer who plans to give a certain redhead a new haircut in thanks for the insult you said a while ago." Smiling at her innocently, I shifted to another stance to prepare another attack. I planted my right foot forward as I leaned back, mentally tapping into my magic container to unleash some of my reserved magic.
"Celestial Dragon's Heavenly Sphere!" I crossed my arms in front of me, the same time a large golden magic circle appeared before me. A dark bluish orb with galaxy-like patterns emerged from the circle, heading straight to Flare with rapid speed. She was too frozen on her spot, still shaken by the revelation. When she did came back to her senses, it was too late. She failed to dodge the incoming orb of magic, sending her flying to the far side of the arena. She reformed her hair to a makeshift 'bed' to save herself from further damage. She's gotten over the shock as a sadistic snarl displayed on her pale face.
"I don't care what type of monster you are! I'm still going to defeat you!" To my surprise, her hair suddenly caught on fire. So, she can actually produce flames? She leaned her head back, causing her long fiery locks to follow. As she surged it forward immediately, sending her flaming hair towards me in an attack attempt. I wasn't going to let her land even a single strand of hair on me, though. I jumped high in the air, dodging the ignited strands.
"Celestial Dragon's Descending Comets!" I shouted, both my hands started to emit a golden glow. I waved them in front of me, causing a magic circle to appear where dozens of comets materialized, all differed in size and shape, heading towards Flare. She hissed loudly, having a delayed reaction. She withdrew her hair from where it attacked me and manipulated it to catch the incoming shower of heavenly rocks. She managed to catch some of it, with great difficulty however. Unfortunately, she missed some of it. She was forced to dodge those, barely and clumsily as the comets came in such inconceivable speed and unpredictable direction and pattern.
"Celestial Dragon's Star Explosion." A large star appeared before me, a beam with the same pattern surged forward, hitting Flare square on the chest. For the second time that day, she was sent flying, harshly colliding with the high cement wall on the end of the arena. Even from where I stood, I heard her cry of pain which made me flinch in sympathy. I'm not cold hearted. I can still feel pity, even for my enemies. She tried to stand up but miserably failed to do so as she crashed back down to the ground painfully. As she motionlessly laid on the solid hard soil, the cold sound of the gong was soon heard not long after. I won..
"There you have it, guys! Dragon Slayer Lucy Heartfilia of Fairy Tail won, earning an additional 10 points for her team!" After almost a minute of long silence, claps and cheers started to fill the stadium as everyone got to their feet and began applauding for me. Smiling meekly, I bowed in respect to the audience, announcers and administrators before making my way out of the arena.

"You were awesome, Lucy!" Yuuki squealed enthusiastically as she, along with my team, rushed towards me once I entered our balcony. They had on proud and satisfied smiles, each giving me either a hug or a pat in the back.
"We were really surprised when you used your main magic, though. Did you planned that? Or were you just provoked?" Zach-nii asked me, draping his arm over my shoulder.
"Neither. It wasn't planned nor was I provoked. It just happened. On the spot, I just thought that revealing my magic after spending years of hiding it would make me feel satisfied and burdened free. So, I just went on with it, thinking that it will be revealed sooner or later. Why not do it now? To spice things up a bit?" With an impish grin, I sent my team a wink, causing them to laugh at my playful and immature antics.
"Gotta hand it to you, Lucy. You did make things extra exciting for the games. I'm not surprised if all the teams had their eyes on you from now on." With a simple shook of his head, Kurt-nii sent me a small smile. I was relieved to know that he wasn't opposed to my early and sudden decision of exposing my magic.
Honestly, making my way back here, I was anxious and a bit uneasy. I knew that my brothers would be okay with what I did. They always advised me to follow my instincts and gut feeling. Yuuki had always been supportive of me. She made it clear that she won't question my decisions. Not once in the past, not in the present and never in the future. Actually, it was Kurt-nii I was worried about. He's always been the leader. The one to consult about everything. It was almost an unspeakable law between us. My oldest cousin has this special skill to come up with all the possible outcomes and consequences of our actions. It's almost like he can see the future with all the scenarios he can make up, ridiculous as that sounds being that no magic can reach that extent. He's just too perceptive and sharp. It made me falter a bit. But deep down, I somehow knew that Kurt-nii would understand. He won't disapprove what I did. That nagging feeling that he might be disappointed that I didn't come to him first was still there, though. That's why I managed to let out a huge sigh of relief when I saw the proud smile on my oldest cousin's lips. He trust me, at least.
"If they think Lucy's magic is our only alas, they should watch their backs." Yuuki smirked smugly, causing a series of laughter from the rest of us. She's right, though. Everyone should watch out. Team Star is far from done. We're going to own this games!
"We're going to win this!"

Normal POV
"They're alive. The Children of the Stars are back." the dark silhouette of a tall man slouched forward on his chair. Through the small glimpse of light the antique lamp gave off, a shadow of a sadistic smirk playing on his lips added to his already devilish features.
"Finally. Where are they?" the baneful man asked. Even his voice sounded demonic with how deep and husky it was. The occupants of the room shivered in slight fright hearing their master speak.
"At the Grand Magic Games, Master. They're participating alongside Fairy Tail." the figure frowned at the mere mention of the legal guild.
"They joined Fairy Tail it seems." He muttered, more to himself. A lone minute of silence enveloped the dark room. None of the members didn't dare break their master's train of thoughts in fear of being punished. They knew too well what awaits the unfortunate soul. Either painful torture or death.
"Very well. Now that they're back, we'll have to continue on with the plan. We already lost 7 years because of those careless brats. We can't afford to lose more." The leader vented out his anger on the object nearest to him, which was the arm rest. He gripped it with such force that it slowly broke.
"What are your orders, Master?"
"Commence Phase 1 of our plan."
