Nya's POV

I slowly wake up, feeling exhausted even after sleeping. Once I'm up, I realize why. Yesterday actually happened. Somehow, we got out, but I walked for miles in a burning hot desert and stumbled upon my boyfriend's parent's motor home.

Quietly, I get out of bed. I change into the extra clothes I backed in my travel bag, quickly brush out my hair, and quietly leave the room.

"Nya deary, you're up. Edna made some waffles," Ed notices me as soon as I leave the room.

"Thank you," I give both of them a small smile.

"Come sit," Edna gestures across from them where a large stack of waffles is on a plate. I walk over and sit down.

"Edna told me that you've talked to our Jay," Ed tells me with a kind smile.

"He's...actually my boyfriend," I say hesitantly, not knowing how they'll react. Both look a little shocked.

"That's good. He's in good hands," Edna tells me welcomingly. I let out the breath I was holding.

"He never gave up on getting home. He was trying to escape the whole time, even before I showed up. I just helped him create what we needed to create," I tell them. I can see them get a bit happier at that.

"What were you trying to create?" Ed asks me.

"We had these vengestone cuffs on that kept us from using our powers. We were trying to make a machine that could make a key to take the cuffs off," I then pull out the key and set it on the table. "This key."

"And it worked?" Ed asks, obviously impressed with our work. I nod.

"Yeah, but only Jay and I were able to get free before we disappeared. Everyone else has theirs on," I explain, taking another bite of my waffles. I continue eating until there's none left. I look up, and Edna's fixated on my hands. "Is everything okay?"

"The bruises that are on your wrists, are they from Jay?" she asks. I look down, and there's bruises on both my wrist, one side higher because the cuff use to be there.

"No, no, no," I quickly answer, felling a bit self conscious. "The guards there weren't the best. These are from them, along with many other scars."

"I'm so sorry honey," Edna sets her hand over mine in a comforting manner.

"When you were in there, did you ever talk to Misako's son, Lloyd?" Ed asks. I nod, not thinking much of it.

"Yeah, he was in on our escape plan. He's supposed to meet all of us at the gathering point," I answer, and both of them look a bit confused.

"He must've had a change of plans then," Ed declares. I tilt my head slightly in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"We saw something on the news this morning. In a week, he's going to be married to Princess Harumi. He's staying at the palace with her," Edna tells me. I shake my head.

"No, he wouldn't do that. Lloyd hates her now," I state. They shrug.

"We don't know the details. We're just telling you what we heard."

"Lloyd likes Juliet now. There's no way he'd marry Harumi, even for freedom," I stand up, grabbing my travel pack off the counter. "We should probably get going now. It's a days drive away. Juliet will have more information; she was with him."

We pull up in front of the underground cave I built, and there's about a dozen people waiting outside. I hop out of the car, and Skylor looks relived. She rushes over and gives me a huge hug.

"Oh my gosh. I was so worried," she tells me, holding me tight. I hug her back.

"Harumi has Lloyd," are the only words that can come out of my mouth. She nods.

"I know. Juliet told me. She came in, demanded for Lloyd to marry her, deployed an attack on Jay to get the key, but when they didn't have it, she sent everyone off using this teleportation device. She kept Lloyd and scattered the rest of us," she holds me in the hug.

"Who told..." I start, but she interrupts me.

"Tox, but don't worry, we tied her up and took care of her. She won't be snitching again anytime soon," she gestures over to Tox, who is being guarded by Cole.

"Where are Jay and Kai? I'm missing them," I look around, but I can't find either of them anywhere.

"They haven't gotten here. I've been here since the middle of the day yesterday, and it's 7 at night now. They haven't came by," she informs me, and my heart drops. "They'll be here soon though. They're probably just a little bit further away," she comforts me, but I can tell she's a bit concerned. I look around, and notice Zane is talking to a new girl.

"Who's that?"

"PIXAL. Zane loosened up and got a girl," she snickers. She looks nice, making Zane laugh.

"I've got the key," I tell her, pulling it out of my pocket. Immediately after it's in her hand, she takes her cuff off.

"After 14 years, I'm finally free," she smiles to herself before going out and helping everyone else, making sure to contact everyone in the process to absorb their powers.

Now, I walk back to Ed and Edna, who have been talking all day about how excited they are to see their son.

"He's not here. I'm so sorry," I tell them. Both of their faces drop.

"It's alright Nya. It's not your fault," she informs me. "We gave the blankets, pillows, and food to a nice looking brunette girl with glasses. She looked sad though." I automatically know they're talking about Juliet.

"Do you guys want to stay here for the night?" I ask, but they shake their heads.

"We have a job to be done at home. Can you tell us if Jay shows up?"

"Of course."

The inside of my little cave looks like a big sleepover. We have mock beds scattered across the floor, and we put all the food in a corner. I'm also very grateful I decided to install a bathroom when I was bored.

"Skylor," I interrupt her as she's getting ready for bed. "Once we get Lloyd back, what are we going to do? We have no place to go."

"We can set up our own little community on my dad's island. He might be a little insane at times, but he'll do it. It's separate from Ninjago, so the laws don't apply there. The second he brought me into Ninjago, they took me. We're not leaving anyone behind here for that to happen to," she tells me kindly before continuing. The thought puts me at ease, a place where I can be free with the people I love. I walk out, and Cole is standing, waiting for me.

"Cole..." I start.

"Don't worry. I'm not trying to get you to date me now that Jay isn't around," he debriefs before continuing. "I wanted to tell you I'm here for you. I know it's hard having your brother and boyfriend missing. I'm missing them also. If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you." All of the dread that's been hiding under the surface for the past several hours they haven't been here come to the surface. The tears flood my eyes, and I give Cole a hug.

"I'm scared. What if something bad happened to them?" I express my concerns. Cole wraps his arms around me.

"We can hope they're together. There's power in numbers," he tries to find a bright side.

"We were all scattered. It's very unlikely they're together," I bring up the negative.

"We have to stay strong for them. I'd say I'll protect you for them, but I know you're the last person who needs protection. You're a bad ass. We'll hold it together and save Lloyd, and then we'll find them if they aren't here yet. We can go with Skylor and search all of Ninjago for them. Deal?"

"Deal," I shake his hand. "You can be my fill in Kai for the week." I joke.

"I don't know, I'd rather be the fill in Jay," he playfully winks at me. I jokingly hit him in the chest. "I'm kidding. I'm kidding."

"By the way, while on my super power walk across the desert, I did some thinking and I realized that I shouldn't be mad at you. You were trying to help Jay and I by protecting us, and you were emotional. I forgive you," with that, Cole gives me a huge smile.

"Now that the dream team is back together, nothing can stop us."

Tomorrow might be the last time I see my boyfriend  until this coronavirus stuff blows over so I'm going to make the best of it
