Baek Ha Rim

today finally came the schedule of ceo chae's shoot. as promised, i had to arrive in the studio punctually so that i could start assisting the staff. 

as i stepped inside the venue, i was bringing with me the second and third outfits of the ceo which i still had to fetch from the company a while ago.

"oh hey! finally, you're here! go hang those clothes in the dressing room. the ceo is getting his hair and makeup done there." one of the head staffs greeted me.

"ah, alright." i smiled at the person and did a bow as i moved across the venue until i finally found the dressing room.

standing right in front of the door, i carefully twisted the knob, firstly peeking inside until i realized that there was already a busy atmosphere that no one really minded my presence at all.

because of that, i opened the door and confidently walked inside with the outfits so that i could go and hang them up immediately.

"oh, you're here." the ceo suddenly noticed me.

i paused on my spot and looked at him through the mirror where he was seated in front while the makeup artist was working on the blank canvas which was his face.

quickly, i did a bow to greet him and the people who were present with him in the room.

"bring those over to that side. once you're done, you should go and check out the photoshoot inspirations we have for today. they're posted on the wall." he instructed.

"yes, sir." i walked over to the side and hung his clothes up immediately.

"after that, you should come out and help the others assemble things or adjust and prepare the set." he added.

"noted, sir." i responded.

as he had told me to do so, i next went to see the inspo for today. i had to study it a bit to understand what today's shoot was all about.

inside the room, there were a couple of printed photos attached on the wall for everyone to see. i stood right in front of it and went through the pictures, scanning them carefully with my eyes.

"what can you say, miss baek?" the ceo suddenly spoke up which diverted my attention towards him.

i looked back and saw him looking at me through the mirror once again.

"uhm... i see that it's a black and white photoshoot today, sir." i spoke.

"that's all?" he suddenly questioned which immediately made me feel pressured as if i needed to say something more.

"well, just go ahead and help out on arranging the set." he quickly changed his mind.

"yes, sir..." i bowed once again and quickly made my way out of the room.

Chae Hyungwon

"perfect!" the photographer spoke as he took multiple shots.

"look at the camera, okay amazing!" i moved my body to do another pose, making subtle changes and focusing on my eyes to exude the vibe.

"play with your arms! alright, wonderful!" the photographer snapped another photo.

i did a couple more shots until the team was finally satisfied with our takes.

"okay, i think we got it." he smiled.

i gave a nod and took the chance to walk towards the monitor to see the photos we've taken. i carefully paid full attention as they browsed on the photos so that i could see which ones were my best picks.

"are you satisfied with the photos, sir?" the photographer came towards me to see.

"i am. we can wrap it up soon for this outfit. how about the videographer, did he get great shots for the ad too?" i asked.

"yes we can move on to the next one, sir!" he came forth and responded.

"alright. great job, everyone." i smiled at the team and started walking towards the dressing room to change up my hairstyle and outfit.

i casually opened the door and walked inside the room noticing that it was the hairstylist's assistant who was only present inside.

"where are the rest?" i asked.

"oh, sir! they went to buy some coffee for everyone! i-i'll come and get the hair and makeup team for you right now!" she quickly straightened up and rushed towards the door.

"please do." i sighed and walked towards the mirror to check my appearance the moment i heard the door close.

i slowly then looked around me and decided that i should change my clothes first to spare some time.

i went towards the curtain where i usually changed my clothes and quickly slid it wide open, unexpectedly revealing a person who was already inside.

"what are you doing here?" my eyes shot wide open as i realized who was inside.

"sir!" she was just as surprised as me.

i caught her by surprise and now we were in an awkward situation as she was inside my changing cubicle.

"miss baek." i called her name.

"i was preparing your second outfit so it would be easier to change into them, sir." she explained, looking at me.

i looked at her hands still touching my clothes which were now hung neatly inside.

"i see. alright, i don't mind." i swallowed hard and gently let go of the curtain.

i moved away and gave ha rim the space to come out. slowly, she then came out of the space and closed the curtain once again.

"were you about to go change, sir?" she asked.

"well, i was because the hair and makeup team are still out for coffee. i unexpectedly finished the first shoot early." i crossed my arms.

right now, it was only the two of us together in this wide space. i could see her looking at me while her body was slightly tensed up because of my mere presence.

it was almost like she wasn't letting her guard down around me. oh, just how badly i wanted to tell her to relax when i'm here.

"am i bothering you, miss baek?" i asked.

she looked at me with widened eyes but then looked away almost immediately. she couldn't even keep her eyes on me properly.

"i don't get what you mean, sir." she feigned ignorance.

i took that as a sign and decided to shift to another topic.

"hmm.. back at the coffee shop a week ago, i know you saw me with a woman." i started.

"did you perhaps make assumptions about that? i just feel like you're never comfortable around me." i got straight to the point.

"what do you mean, sir?"

"you moved places almost immediately the moment we saw each other. i just wondered if that was the reason."

"and to tell you, that woman was just a cousin." i added, chuckling a little bit.

"i came with the intern from the design department that day to the coffee shop, sir. it was the intern you scolded at the meeting... that was the only reason i moved to another table." she explained.

i raised my brows hearing what she told me.

so she knew about that time.

"why? did she have some grudge or pent up anger towards me after hearing me scold her?" i smirked.

"it's nothing like that, sir." she spoke with firmness in her tone.

we looked at each other, keeping silent for a moment until i eventually decided to get the answers i needed to feed my curiosity.

"oh right, that night at the bar. i'm glad you went home safely. your boyfriend actually came to pick you up. i was reluctant to entrust you to him at first but looks like you both did know each other." i started.

"he's just a friend." she corrected, and i mentally smiled to myself.

"and i'm pretty sure you already saw him with me back at the eyewear store when we encountered each other, sir." she added.

"so, i don't really get what you mean when you said you were reluctant to trust him when you already saw him with me back then. you even mistook him as my boyfriend already."

i blinked and looked away realizing how sharp and straight-forward she actually was more than i had expected.

suddenly, the door opened wide revealing my hair and makeup team bringing with them cups of coffee they were distributing to everyone.

in a click of a door, ha rim and i's attentions were diverted as we immediately turned our heads in sync.

"omo, did we interrupt anything?" my hairstylist asked, looking at the two of us.

ha rim and i looked at each other realizing how we probably looked like we were in serious discussion based on our body posture while facing each other.

"it's nothing. let's get down to business immediately." i spoke, quickly walking away from ha rim and dropping myself on the chair in front of the mirror.

i've been watching kdramas that's why hahaha, and also reading fanfics to clear out my library asap!
