Baek Ha Rim

kwon eun gyeol was far behind me, staring at both hyungwon and i being close to each other.

from the look on her face, i knew this was gonna bring some misunderstanding.

pouting her lips, she quickly rushed to hyungwon's side and immediately clung onto his arm. i watched her right infront of me as she suddenly turned to glare at me fiercely.

"hyungwon-ah, i looked for you everywhere and even talked to your secretary." she frowned at him.

"ah.. sorry eun gyeol-ah." hyungwon spoke.

i sensed his unease with her presence. the atmosphere also changed and became more tense.

however, i just remained as calm as ever.

"yah, don't you have work to do?" eun gyeol turned to me.

i raised my eyebrow at her upon hearing her talk to me informally. she probably felt jealousy seeing hyungwon and i close to each other all alone in this place, but i couldn't honestly care for her feelings at this very moment.

"eun gyeol, don't talk to my employees in a casual manner like that." hyungwon spoke up in a firm tone.

"you know i don't do that. she's a special case." eun gyeol shot back.

"well to tell you, i have no business here anymore. i'll get going." i sighed at the both of them and left the place confidently, heading to the restrooms.

from my back, i felt both their eyes gazing at my figure moving away from the scene.

i got inside the restroom and immediately placed my hands under the faucet to wash my hands on the sink. even the soap dispenser was operated by an automatic sensor, so that made things very convenient and more hygienic.

i started rubbing the ink off my hand, and thankfully, it was removing. i rinsed my hand with water and finally shook my hands before drying it with tissue paper.

suddenly, i heard the click of heels approaching right behind me. there, i eventually found kwon eun gyeol's reflection on the mirror as she entered the restrooms.

she stood right beside me, examining herself on the mirror and fixing her hair. i kept silent, continuing to mind my own business without looking at her.

"who do you think you are?" she suddenly turned her head and spoke to me as if i had already expected it to happen.

"why are you talking to me like that?" i asked, in a calm manner.

"i saw it with my two eyes. hyungwon was leaning his face close to yours. you've basically been caught, so now i'm warning you to stay away from him." she crossed her arms and tried to intimidate me.

i finally turned my body to face her, and tried to scare her off with my presence as well. i knew i was not a pushover when it came to things like this.

"is this usually how you deal with the people around your fiancé? you better watch how you talk to me." i spoke firmly.

she frowned at me, surprised by how i was dealing with her.

"you're probably one or two years younger than me, so what do i care? i know the types of you very well. there are lots of girls attempting to snake hyungwon away, and they have always been unsuccessful because of hyungwon's cold demeanor.."

"but if you've managed to catch his attention like that, then i'll be the one you'll be facing this time." she added.

i rolled my eyes and smirked at the statements she threw at me. she obviously didn't know who she was bumping into.

"using age as an excuse to talk down to me is pathetic. do i know you for you to be casual to me?" i straightened my posture to match hers.

"and if you have issues with your engagement, keep your man on watch. i have no interest in him or in you, so don't try to involve me in both of your matters." i glared at her with my eyes.

"you better take note of that. watch out or you will be facing me in a totally different story... one that you'll least expect from me." i warned.

"so make sure you protect your man well. only if you can." i smirked at her, hinting at how i could possibly hurt her lover which she may never realize from me any sooner.

i threw the tissue i used in the bin and quickly stormed out of the restroom, leaving eun gyeol dumbfounded. if she ever gets on my nerves one day, i could choose to destroy her along with chae hyungwon who she loves the most.

Im Changkyun

i licked my lip feeling blood come out after getting hit. i spat out the blood as soon as i tasted it and dabbed the back of my finger on my bottom lip to see.

"aish.. your men did a lot but we caught you anyway." i spoke to the head of the gang we were dealing with.

my men tied his body up in order to prevent any more movement from him.

"so, are you gonna pay us back now?" i asked, leaning closer to the guy.

"you planned to run away and didn't give us our equal share." i added.

i quickly took the tape away from his mouth to hear him speak.

"you nasty beings! end it and just kill me now then! i'm tired of dealing with you all!" he yelled.

i leaned back away from him and released a deep sigh.

"not a bad idea. i'm actually quite tired too, and it was a crazy chase." i nodded my head and slowly started walking away.

suddenly, i stopped on my tracks and took one last look back at the mastermind before turning to my men.

"finish him off." i instructed and started walking away from the scene while hearing the kicks and punches thrown by my men at the poor guy.

i reached a long way going back to the van, and as soon as i got in, i quickly took a drink of water and leaned back comfortably on the car seat.

from the view of the mirror, i was able to see the scratches and wounds on my face. they surely weren't a delight to see.

"tsk.." i clicked my tongue and frowned at the view of myself.

i waited for a few more minutes on my own until i eventually began to see some of my men coming back while carrying with them bags of money which now belonged to us.

i smiled to myself and slowly shifted my eyes towards the driver infront.

"alright, start the car. it's time to leave."

Baek Ha Rim

i got back home in a bad mood because of that kwon eun gyeol. i wanted to destroy her face right at that moment but i was holding my temper in.

i walked straight into the dining room  upon arriving back home. i went ahead to the table and saw that i was left by my family some food to eat for dinner.

for that, i was thankful.

"you're back." wonho entered the dining room and noticed me.

"yeah.. i was at work later than usual because i had loads of tasks given to me by chae hyungwon himself." i rolled my eyes recalling my day at work.

"the chae hyungwon...?" wonho scoffed as he poured a glass of milk for himself.

"it's a long story, i don't think you'll bother listening to it."

"yeah, not that i care anyway."

wonho quickly grabbed his glass and immediately started walking out of the dining room, leaving me behind to start eating dinner on my own.

i finished eating quite fast enough because i didn't have much appetite tonight.

after drinking a glass of water, i walked out to head to the living room as i started wondering about changkyun.

"has that guy eaten dinner yet?" i mumbled to myself.

suddenly, i got startled as i saw the door fly open, revealing changkyun himself who already had cuts and minor bruises on his face.

"changkyun-ah? yah!" i was shocked by the look of his face.

i immediately rushed over to him and started examining his wounds, getting a closer view of it.

"i'm fine. since when did you get back home? did you finish your work?" he moved away from me and walked inside.

"i'll tell you my story later, but how did you get those on your face? you looked fine when we ate together this afternoon." i followed him inside and sat down beside him on the couch.

"i was on a mission, okay? how else would i get these?" he said.

"tsk.. just when you finished the other one days ago, and just when i thought you were starting to get better at dodging punches." i shook my head.

"what matters is that it was successful okay? i did taunt their gang a bit. i should've known that they were gonna come for my precious face like this."

i rolled my eyes at him playfully and immediately stood up from my seat.

"go and wash up your face. i'll prepare the kit and we'll go treat those." i spoke to him and he gave me a small smile as i walked away.
