Lord Beerus's World

Zira's P.O.V.

I waited with Whis outside Capsule Corp, waiting for Vegeta to finish packing. Bulma made it very clear that if he was gonna be gone for who knows how long, he would go prepared. While she wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of Vegeta being gone for so long, she still seemed to support his decision. I suppose she understands his Saiyan pride and how he always feels the need to get stronger.

It wasn't long until Vegeta finally emerged from the building, holding a giant green bag over his shoulder. I also couldn't help but notice the new suit he was wearing, seeing it was more of grey color than blue.

"Is that a new suit? When did you get that?" I asked. "Hmph, apparently Bulma made it for me..." Vegeta replied, looking away as he blushed slightly. Whis smiled and chuckled.

"My, now that's very nice of her to do. I had planned on providing you with your own training outfit, but I believe that own suits you even better. In any case," Whis held out his staff, "shall we be going?" he asked. Vegeta nodded, approaching the angel and placing a hand on his back. Before they left however, Whis glanced at me, giving me a small  smile. "You know, Zira....you should come along as well." he replied. I blinked, looking at Whis in surprise. Vegeta held a similar expression.

"Me? How come?" I asked.

"Well, Lord Beerus's world is quite beautiful. I think you'd enjoy relaxing there for awhile. Besides, with Lord Beerus being asleep, I've been bored as of lately. I wouldn't mind the extra company." he replied. "Oh, well, that's a very kind offer. But I don't know....it'd feel a little weird being away from Earth. Besides, I don't want to interfere with Vegeta's training." I replied. For some reason, I felt that if I joined them, I'd just be bothering Vegeta. He's never disliked me in any way, but I don't want to join them only to distract Whis, when he was supposed to be training the Saiyan Prince.

"I don't care," Vegeta's sudden response made me perk up, and he simply shrugged, "Come with us or not, it doesn't matter to me. But you were the one that just woke up from a 30 years coma, right? You'd think it'd only be beneficial for you to explore other places." he replied. I looked between the two for a moment, then glanced down at my necklace, unconsiously playing with it in my hands. Vegeta did have a good point, and I have been a little curious about Lord Beerus's planet....

"....alright, I suppose I'll come as well." I replied.

"Fabulous! Then just put your hand on my shoulder, and we can get going." Whis stated happily. I nodded, and placed a hand on his shoulder. His staff started to glow, and all of a sudden we were engulfed in a rainbow light. I gasped as I felt the ground disappear below my feet, and we were suddenly moving forward at an incredible speed. My eyes widened as I looked around us, caught in complete awe from the beautiful light.

"Whoa...." I murmured. Whis smiled at my reaction before looking in front of him. It didn't take long for us to finally arrive, landing upon a platform that seemed to be located in a high tree branch.

"Wow, so this is Lord Beerus's world...." I said, glancing around at the tree. I would need to fly higher to get a better view, as the branches blocked the majority of the view. "Yes, it's all very interesting. Now," Vegeta crossed his arms, looking at Whis expectantly, "Where do I begin?" he asked.

"Oh, so glad you asked~" Whis said. His staffed glowed again, this time a piece of clothing appeared in front of him....a pink apron.

Vegeta blinked.

"....what the hell is this?"

"Come with me, Vegeta. I'll show you to your room. On the way there, I'll explain your daily tasks and training." Whis stated. The angel glanced back at me with a friendly smile. "Zira, feel free to explore till your hearts content. Once I'm doing showing Vegeta around, I'll come find you." he replied. With that said, Whis walked Vegeta down the large branch, towards a nearby entrance. I watched them until they were out of sight, then glanced up at the sky. Till my heart's content, huh...?

Curiosity finally took over as I shot up into the sky, flying high over the tree. Once I could finally get a good view, I couldn't help but gasp in awe.

This world....was beautiful!

In front of the main tree was a beautiful clearing, covered in green grass that gently swayed in the breeze. A large pond calmly settled in the middle of it, remaining undisturbed as it sparkled from the sunshine. Past the clearing was a large forest full of purple trees, going on all the way till the end of the horizon. The sky had a gentle pink color, almost like something you'd see in a painting. It was all so breathtaking....it practically made my heart glow. Lord Beerus gets to live in such a glorious place like this? Well, I guess it'd be obvious he does, he is a deity after all.

I flew all the way back to the ground, letting the wind blow my hair around me until I settled onto a dirt path, gently landing my feet upon it. I could fly around and explore the planet with much less time, but I wanted to take in this whole experience, and it'd be much more appreciated on foot.

I silently walked down the path, looking at everything around me. Taking in all the smells, all the views, all the beauty. My smile never left my face. Eventually I found myself at the edge of the pond. It's sparkling water entranced me, and I couldn't help but kneel down for a closer look. I could see my own reflection smiling at me, and it filled me with a calm serenity....but that didn't last long as an unwelcome memory invaded my head.

That memory seeped into my mind like a stinger, it's venom starting to spread. Suddenly my smiling reflection was replaced with a much more vicious looking reflection of myself, red eyes staring into my soul, and a dark aura started to surround it. I swear I could almost see the pond water start to turn black....

The sight made me release a startled gasp, and I stumbled back. Suddenly the vicious reflection was gone, and it was just me again....the real me.

I sighed, placing a hand on my forehead. After all this time....it still haunts me.

"I'm assuming you're enjoying yourself?" I glanced beside me, seeing Whis approach me. I quickly put on a friendly smile and nodded. "Yes, I am. This world is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to stay here." I replied.

"Of course, my dear. The pleasure is mine. So, shall I give you a tour of inside as well?" Whis asked, referring to the large tree before us. "But what about Vegeta? Aren't you supposed to be training him?" I asked. "I have tasked him with doing his daily chores first. It'll be a few hours before we can begin. We have plenty of time before then." Whis replied. I nodded, and followed him inside, excited to see what laid inside the grand tree.

3 day time skip

A few days had passed since we arrived on Lord Beerus's world. Even though he greatly disliked it, Vegeta took his chores seriously, knowing very well that at this point they were just as important as his training. I didn't do any of the training myself, but from what I've seen Whis wasn't going easy on Vegeta. As for myself, I took this time to try and relax, and asked Whis many questions about the cosmos and Lord Beerus. While some questions he couldn't (or wouldn't) answer, I was still graced with many intriguing lessons about our universe.

I also learned that I really enjoyed Whis's company. While sometimes he could be a little distant about certain things, I could still tell he was a very good man. Not to mention he was very kind and patient person. It was actually quite admirable.

One night, we both sat upon Lord Beerus's balcony, enjoying the sight of the night sky. Vegeta had already finished a hard work of training, and was already asleep. Whis was nice enough to make him and myself some instant ramen. Once it was finished he handed me my bowl.

"Your food is ready."

"Thank you, Whis. I really appreciate it." I replied. He nodded and sat down in his own seat, endulging in his own meal. I grabbed my chopsticks and began to carefully the noodles. The flavor exploded in my mouth, making me hum in satisfaction. "How was training with Vegeta today?" I asked.

"Very successful. He still has a ways to go, but he's already showing so much potential. I had thought he'd be much more rebellious, but he has been surprisingly obedient thus far." Whis explained. "Well, knowing Vegeta, I'm sure he'd be willing to do anything to get stronger; even if it meant following the orders of a deity." I replied. Whis chuckled and nodded in agreement. We sat in comfortable silence for a moment, eating our delicious ramen. I glanced at the moon for a moment, admiring the light it gave off. It's true there were multiple moons on the planet, but I noticed it was this one that gave off the most light....

I froze for a moment, feeling a stare on me. I looked beside me, seeing it was Whis who was staring at me. It wasn't incredibly intense, but it did seem incredibly curious, almost impatient. It made me a little nervous.

"Whis? Is something wrong?" I asked.

"....Zira, could I trouble you to do me a small favor," he placed his ramen on the side table for a moment, then looked back at me, "Could you remove your necklace? I'd like to feel your energy for a moment." My eyes widened slightly, taken aback by his request. While I did hesitate for a moment, I did as asked, carefully removing the jewelry from around my neck. The moment it was off Whis's eyes widened slightly, seemingly taken aback himself.

"Oh my....your power really is impressive for a mortal." he stated.

"....why did you wanna feel my energy?" My tone came out a little harsher than I had wanted, but I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. Whis immediately noticed, and looked away.

"I apologize. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable. I suppose....it's just something Vegeta said that's been bothering me. How Saiyans are always prideful of their power....and yet you don't seem interested in the slightest." he replied. I looked down at my hand, feeling my aura start to form around me. "....it's more than just that. I hate my power. I wish I never had it." I stated. This caught Whis's attention, and he again glanced at me.

"And why is that? Did you parents hate it as well?" he asked. I shook my head. "No, but that's mostly because they never got the chance to see it. You see....I was taken away from Planet Vegeta when I was 12, and taken to a laboratory for many years. It was during that time did I obtain this power. Before that, I was more or less like any other Saiyan." I started to smile a little, recalling a happy memory.

"Although, according to my father, I had a lot of potential. So he trained me to fight, so I could be a strong warrior just like him. I actually wanted to be like him for so long...."

"You always seem to speak highly of your family. Was it a large family?" Whis asked. I nodded. "Yeah, I'd say so. There was my mother and father, and my two twin sisters, Maru and Nika. For a long time, we were very happy. Even with being under King Cold and Frieza's control, it was hard for us to feel any despair." I replied. Whis nodded, listening to every word I said.

"You really weren't afraid while living under their rule? I hear that Frieza was especially harsh towards Planet Vegeta." he stated. "Well I mean, of course there would be moments where we were scared of what could come. But we didn't want to let that fear control us. Instead, we tried to show as much respect towards them, believing that would be more beneficial than showing fear." I explained. I paused to take a bite of my ramen before continuing.

"Although, I didn't really get to experience being ruled under Frieza's command. I had left the planet just after he took charge. And I didn't get a very intimidating feeling from him when we met...."

"You had met Frieza before?" Whis asked in surprise. I nodded.

"Oh yes, it was only one time though. And he didn't seem to think too much of me. I had expected him to be more wicked and cruel as many had described him. And while I'm sure he was like that during his ruling....that wasn't the creature I had met." Whis tilted his head, now even more curious than ever.

"What do you mean by that?" Strangely enough, I felt a small smile spread on my face.

"It was small, and still clouded by quite a bit of darkness, but....I could sense the light in his soul. The small little glow that he tried to keep hidden away...." Whis narrowed his eyes, looking away and continuing his meal. He looked like he wanted to say something else, but had remained silent. "....if the Frieza Force isn't controlling Planet Vegeta anymore, does that mean Frieza is dead?" I asked. Whis nodded. "I'm afraid so. He's been deceased for many years now." he replied. I nodded, but then let out a small sigh. I could still remember the fierce look in his red eyes, even now....

"It's see. I kinda wish I could've met him....just one more time."
