Continuing the Party

Beerus's P.O.V.

The two boys stared at me in fear, seemingly unsure of how to react. Vegeta just stared at me, petrified. As the water started to seep into my clothes, I couldn't help but clench my fists tightly, giving a low growl. Whis blinked.

"Oh my, are you angry, my lord?"

"....do I look angry?"

"Well, yes."

My form started to tremble with fury as my vision slowly, but surely became clouded in red. "No, Whis, I wouldn't say I'm angry.....FURIOUS IS MORE LIKE IT-"

I stopped mid-sentence at something soft and fluffy being thrown at my face, blinding me momentarily. I blinked, my anger quickly being replaced with confusion, and I pulled the fabric off my face. I looked down to see it was a pink towel, with purple stitching along the edges. "What the....?" I murmured. Vegeta and the two boys also looked at him in surprise.

"You get angry too easily," we all looked to the sky, seeing Zira fly down towards us, carrying a plate with beverages on it, "It's just a bit of water. It'll dry up, especially in this heat. Even so, I figured that towel would help." she said. For some reason, I couldn't help but just stare at her bewilderment as she came closer, landing beside me. I was honestly just shocked with how she handled the situation. I couldn't even respond when she took my clenched fist, opened the hand, and placed a cold beverage in it.

"Here, I brought some punch. It's tastes really yummy and fruity. I'm sure you'll like it." she stated. Silence. That was all I had. Even Whis looked surprised as she handed him his beverage as well. Zira looked to the two boys, placing one hand on her hip.

"And boys, you know Bulma said to be careful with those water guns. I don't think he was very happy being sprayed with water, you know." she stated. Both boys frowned, looking down with guilty expressions. "W-We didn't mean to. It was an accident, we swear!" the boy with the black spiky hair stated. Zira gave a small smile, nodding understandingly.

"I know, I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. But, I still think you should apologize to Beerus here, right?" she said. Both boys nodded, quickly rushing towards me before bowing. "We're so sorry, Beerus! It won't happen again!" they stated in sync. I blinked, still somewhat trying to process what just happened. Vegeta seemed speechless, frozen like a statue. I can't tell if he was relieved or even more scared. For a moment I could only stare in silence before Whis nudged my shoulder.

"Lord Beerus? I believe these boys just apologized to you."

"Oh, uh, yes," I cleared my throat and finally spoke, "Well, considering it was an accident, I suppose I can let this slide this one time. But you two better not spray me again or you'll regret it, got it?" I said. I tried to sound stern, but I didn't feel like that's how it came off. Both boys nodded.

"Yes sir!"

"Alright boys, you can run along now. But be careful not to spray anyone else." Zira replied. With that said, the boys took off towards the party, continuing their little spray off. As soon as they were gone, Vegeta rushed to Zira.

"What- I don't understand- how did you do that?!" he whisper-yelled. Zira blinked innocently, seemingly confused. "What do you mean? I saw Beerus get sprayed, so I brought him a towel. That's all." she replied. "NO! I mean, I just- how could you know-"

"You should really relax. This is a party, it's suppose to be fun." Zira stated. She snatched the plate of takoyaki he held and gently pushed him away. "Now go enjoy yourself. I'll keep Lord Beerus company, if you don't mind, that is?" Zira said, glancing at me. I glanced at her for a moment before nodding, drying one of my ears with the towel. "Yes, that'll be fine. You're off the hook, Saiyan prince." I stated. Vegeta blinked, hesitating to leave before finally walking away. Once he was gone Whis smiled.

"How very impressive, Zira. You should know, it takes quite a bit to calm down Lord Beerus's rage, and yet you did it in an instant. And in a very unique way I might add. Most people often quiver in fear and kiss up to him as much as possible." he explained.

"Indeed, I figured as much. And while I imagine that kinda works sometimes, that wouldn't earn Beerus's respect. Am I correct, my lord?" Zira asked. I blinked, chewing on a piece of takoyaki. "What're you talking about?" he asked. "Well, to always kiss your feet wouldn't be enough for you to give your respect. The way I see it, anyone who faces you with fearless intent, but also gives you the same respect for the deity you are is what earns respect. That's how it is; treat people how you'd want to be treated." Zira explained. She picked up a piece of takoyaki and bit into it.

"I guess that's why I kept saying to not be so mean to others; if people keep fearing you like they do now, you won't get the respect you deserve. Instead, you'll only be known as one to fear. It might seem like the same as respect, but it's not," she glanced at me, "does that make sense?" I stared at her in amazement, soaking in her words. They were strangely....wise. Honestly, in all my years of being a destroyer, I never thought to look at things that way. The fear of others was always something I strove for, but I suppose she's right.....for that very reason, I've only met a tiny handful of mortals who actually respected me.

"....I suppose there's some truth in that." I admitted, taking a sip of my beverage. Zira smiled, seemingly pleased. She took a sip of her own drink before looking at me curiously.

"Oh, by the way, what did you want to ask me?"

"Hmm?"

"Before Vegeta arrived, you were about to ask me something. Something about Planet Vegeta I think."

I choked slightly on my beverage, desperately trying to clear my throat. My conversation with Vegeta suddenly came back at me like a wrecking ball. She really has no idea....about her planet's destruction. "Ah yes, uh, well, I-I just...." I was surprised to find myself stuttering, unsure how to respond.

"Um, he was just curious why you're not staying on Planet Vegeta yourself? It is your home after all, correct?" Whis piped in, wearing a small smile. I silently thanked Whis for speaking up before Zira blinked.

"Oh, well I am going to go back, eventually. But....there are some personal issues I need to deal with before I can go back. Especially since it's been 30 years since I've seen them," Zira suddenly looked up to the sky, wearing a wide smile, "but it'll be wonderful when I do. I haven't seen my family in so long. With the Frieza Force gone, I can only wonder how Planet Vegeta is right now. It's exciting to think about." she stated. My eyes widened, surprised to see how her eyes glimmered with hope and joy. I've never heard words spoken so genuinely before. She really has no idea....she stills thinks her planet exists....

I glanced at Whis, who looked at me with a similar look of sadness. Now we could understand why Vegeta and the others haven't told the truth.

"So, anyway," Whis and I looked back to Zira, who smiled at us happily, "If you've had your fill of takoyaki, there's a delicious dessert we have called pudding. I'm sure it's something you'll truly enjoy!" she stated.

"Hmm, pudding you say?" I said, placing a hand on my chin.

"Oh yes, I believe I've heard of it. It's velvety texture is to die for." Whis stated. "Well what're we waiting for?" I stated. I ate the last piece of takoyaki before we all walked back towards the party. We went to pudding stand to ask for one, but he said he was out, saying that Majin Buu had gotten the last of it. I glanced at the nearby table, seeing the pink blob with a bunch of bottles of pudding. He lifted a small bite to his mouth and ate it, laughing happily. However he frowned slightly when he noticed us coming closer.

"Excuse me sir, but the pudding vendor over there tells us he's completely run out. Would you mind sharing with us from your ample collection?" Whis asked. The man who sat beside Majin Buu frowned, looking to him.

"See, I told you this would happen if you hogged all of them. But you didn't listen, did you?" he said, as if he was scolding a child. I took a moment to look at the pudding servings, licking my lips. It looked so smooth and jiggly, I can't wait! I can practically already feel it in my mouth.

"We're so sorry, he's had plenty. Take as much as you'd like." the man replied happily. However pouted, taking the plate of bottles away.

"No! All pudding is for Buu!" he stated. The man frowned at the alien. "Now Buu...." he said. "I'm sorry, I don't think you understand. You see we're visiting from far across the universe, and I'm afraid if we don't get to taste this delicacy now, we may not get another chance for centuries. By then, this dessert might not exist anymore. It's quite dire." Whis explained. The pink alien pouted even more. I didn't think much of, but then my eyes widened upon seeing his large tongue come out. He better not do what I think he's gonna do-

"Majin Buu! Don't you dare like all those bottles!" Zira suddenly said sternly, crossing her arms across her chest. The alien blob froze, suddenly wearing a guilty expression.

"But, Buu no want to share-"

"You know as well as I do that isn't fair, and it's also not polite. Now how many times have I had to tell you to be nice and share with others?!" Zira stated, narrowing her eyes slightly. Buu frowned, putting the plate down and fiddling with his hands. "A lot...." he murmured.

"That's right. Now, Lord Beerus and Whis have come a long way, and they're trying to very nicely ask you for some pudding. And you already have a lot of it. I think you can share a little, don't you think?" Zira stated. Buu glanced at me and Whis, then back at the plate, then he gave a small sigh.

"Yeah, Buu supposes so...."

"I thought so. Well...." Zira referred to Whis and I with her hand. Buu nodded, grabbing a couple bottles of pudding, handing each one to Whis and I. "Buu share with purple kitty and blue man." he said. "And?" Zira added.

"....and Buu sorry for being rude."

Zira smiled, approaching the alien and placing a hand on his head, rubbing it gently. "Very good, Buu. That was very nice of you." she stated. Whis nodded. "Indeed, and we appreciate your kindess very much." he replied, taking a bite of his pudding. Buu suddenly perked up, wearing a happy smile. Again though, I was left speechless. I had heard stories of this Majin Buu, supposedly one of the most dangerous beings in the universe. And yet, Zira handled him as if she was his mother.

It's actually very....incredible. It's as if she understand exactly who everyone is, and how to interact with them, myself included.

Just who exactly was this Saiyan anyway?
