Class Rivals Clash

Zira's P.O.V.

In mere seconds, Frieza and Goku's punches collided. Then in record speed they continued to throw punches and kicks at one another, only managing to land a few hits here and there. Both eventually flew back to shoot large beams of energy at each other, which collided and created a large explosion, causing the ground to shake. Everyone winced and took cover, trying to avoid being hit by the debris that went flying around us. Once the light died down I again looked up, seeing the two rivals continue their vicious combat.

"Man, Frieza was so strong! Just what kind of training did he put himself through to get that kind of power?!" Krilling said, his voice laced with fear and concern. "I have no idea, but it's insane. Even with Dad gaining his own new strength, this won't be an easy fight." Gohan stated.

"It doesn't matter though, right? He'll win, won't he? There's no way he can lose to Frieza!" Bulma stated, but her voice lacked the confidence to back up her statement. Gohan frowned. "That's all we can really hope for." he replied.

I barely paid attention to everyone around me, my attention fixed solely on the battle between the two of them. The tension was thick enough to cut through. I could feel each punch, kick, and blast the two exchanged. Frieza's rage didn't surprise me; Goku had told me of his battle against him in Namek, and even how later Future Trunks killed him. It seems like Frieza has dealt with a lot against the Saiyans; because of them, he lost immortality, was humilated, and was even sentenced to Earth's Hell for many years. While I wasn't happy at all with the monster Frieza was, I could at least understand his rage.

Goku's hatred was what surprised me the most though. That being said, he also had every right to feel this way. Frieza had slaughtered many, many lives, Goku and the others witnessed that themselves on Namek. Not to mentioned Frieza killed many of Goku's friends; Vegeta, Krillin, and Dende. And he threatened Goku's son when he was just a child. So it figures why Goku would feel such rage. Even so, I've only gotten to know the happy-go-lucky Goku the entire time I've stayed on Earth. Seeing this angry side of him was new and foreign to me.

"Zira," I perked up and looked beside me, seeing Piccolo handing me a senzu bean, "here, take this. Frieza messed you up pretty badly back there. This'll help." I looked at the bean before shaking my head slowly.

"No, I'm fine. You should save that for Goku. He'll need it after this fight." I stated. "It's fine, we have another bean ready for him too. Go ahead and take this one." the Namekian stated, although his tone was a bit more stern. I glanced down at the bean before taking it from him, thanking him before popping it into my mouth. The pain immediately started to fade away, and some of m energy even came back. The scratches and bruises on my body started to heal; even the hole in my shoulder filled in, as if it never even happened.

I sighed, finally allowing my Super Saiyan form to disappear, so I could relax in my normal form.

"Hey, that reminds me, I have a bone to pick with you!" Vegeta states, marching towards me. I looked at him surprised, caught off guard by his sudden harsh tone. He crossed his arms across his chest, eyes narrowing. "I heard you were holding back against Frieza. Just what the hell were you thinking?! We both know you're stronger than he is, you even have that Super Saiyan God form to use. So why the hell wouldn't you just kill him?!" he snapped.

"Vegeta, calm down. She tried her best." Krillin replied. But the Saiyan prince shot him a fierce glare, making him flinch.

"No, she didn't! That's my point! We all saw she could even knock out Lord Beerus, yet she refused to go all out against that tyrant! So I ask again, what the hell were you thinking?!" Vegeta demanded, fists clenched tightly as he leaned closer. I sighed, taking a moment to put back on my necklace.

"I....I'm sorry. But if I tried to explain it, you wouldn't understand. I just....I didn't want to kill him. Cause I thought there was a chance he could change, and I still believe that!" I stated. "Really?! You think the evil emperor of the universe would just want to change a new leaf, just like that?! Do you even realize who you're talking about?!" Vegeta snarled. I grew increasingly frustrated, and shot a glare at him. "Of course I know who we're talking about! I'm not a fool, I know what he's done! But that doesn't mean I think it's too late for him to change!" I stated.

"Oh yeah?! And what makes you think that?!" Vegeta said.

"Aren't you an example that people can change, Vegeta?" I replied calmly. This caused the Saiyan Prince to go silent, as he had no argument against that. He growled, looking away in frustration.

"Hello everyone!"

We all looked to above us, seeing Lord Beerus and Whis floating towards us until they carefully landed onto the ground. "Whis? Lord Beerus? What are you guys doing here?" Krillin asked. "Sorry for the wait, we would've arrived sooner, but Goku didn't offer to use his instant transmission with us, so we had to come here on our own." Whis explained. "As for why we're here, that should be obvious. Bulma promised us a delicacy called a strawberry sundae. And I'm very eager to try it out." Beerus stated.

"Oh right, I'll get that for you. But don't destroy us if it's a little melted." Bulma replied, heading over to the small red alien ship nearby, apparently owned by her friend Jaco. I let out a small sigh. That sounded pretty typical of Lord Beerus, but even so, he doesn't even seem to care about the fight that was going on.

A loud crash caught my attention, and I quickly whirled my head back and gasped. Goku was on the ground, growling through the pain as he got back up and flew towards Frieza, delivering a sharp kick to his side. Frieza grunted, wincing slightly before raising a fist to hit under his chin. The Saiyan returned the punch with his own, punching into Frieza's stomach, causing him to gasp out in pain before staggering back a bit. The two continued to exchange blows, each one seeming more painful than the next. My stomach was twisting with anxiety for both of them, and the little comfort I had was gripping onto my necklace.

"Wow! This is delicious! No doubt we made the right decision by coming here, Whis!" Beerus stated. "Oh I completely agree, Lord Beerus, this flavor is simply astonishing!" Whis replied. I sighed again, this time with a bit more annoyance. Here I am, stressed out for both my friends and the enemy, while those two enjoy their dessert without a care in the world.

I looked back to the battle, seeing the two rivals had came down towards the ground, staring each other down as they tried to catch their breath.

"Hehe, I gotta say, Frieza. You've become a lot stronger than I expected. I never imagined you could obtain this sort of power." Goku stated, wearing a smirk. Frieza held his own smirk, chuckling at the comment. "Well of course it's incredible compared to yours. While I do commend you for obtaining such strength, a god monkey is still just a monkey. No matter what you may have, it won't be enough to defeat me." he stated.

His gaze started to slowly turn towards us. "And once I'm through with you, I'll have the pleasure of destroying all your friends; Vegeta, Zira, your son, everyone you care about. No one will be spared." he stated. When he spotted me, his gaze lingered on me for a moment, making me blink in surprise. Then he continued his gaze at all of us....until his eyes widened upon spotting Lord Beerus and Whis. Almost immediately he started trembling, and took a step back.

"What the - Beerus is here too?!"

"You forgot to say Lord," Beerus immediately corrected, wearing an evil smirk of his own, "That's not polite, Frieza. You must be feeling more high and mighty than usual." he replied. I blinked, watching in surprise. I didn't realize Frieza was aware of who Lord Beerus was, but judging by his fear, it seems he knew full well who he was speaking with. "Uh, indeed, my apologies Lord Beerus....but what are you doing here?!" Frieza asked, a bit of fear still present in his voice.

"Isn't that obvious? I came here to enjoy this delicious dessert." the destroyer replied, taking another bite while humming happily. Frieza blinked, seemingly surprised and confused by that response. "But Lord Beerus, I came here seeking revenge. You're not here to interfere, are you?" he asked. "Don't be ridiculous, I don't care what you do. Just as long as you keep away from my ice cream. I don't need your little brawl ruining it." Beerus replied plainly.

"....you're serious not here to stop me?"

"Not unless you keep bothering me. Look, I'm a destroyer. I don't take sides in this fight. End of discussion." Beerus stated. "What?! You'd really let him destroy us like that?!" Bulma demanded. I sighed as she argued with the destroyer. As disappointing as his reply was, I also wasn't surprised. To him, this was strictly Earth business, and it has nothing to do with him.

"Well then, in that case," Frieza turned back to Goku, a smirk reappearing on his face, "shall we return to my revenge, Goku?" he stated. The Saiyan smirked, nodding. In an instant, they both lunged forward and clashed, their radiating power turning into powerful winds that blew fiercely towards us. I gasped, watching as they took back to the sky. Goku sent a punch towards Frieza, but he blocked with one had before swiftly kicking into Goku's side. The Saiyan cried out in pain, but didn't have any time to get a break as a punch in the face came to him, then chop at his neck, and finally ending with a harsh kick into his shoulder.

Goku screamed as he was sent crashing into the ground, creating a crater below him. My eyes widened, watching as Frieza slowly lowered himself beside his enemy, a wide wicked smile on his face. "My my, growing this tired already? Quite undignified for a god monkey, don't you think?" he asked. Despite how tired he looked, Goku gave a small smirk of his own.

"Just taking a quick breather....before I use my real power."

I didn't know if Goku was bluffing or not, but that response seemed to be enough to annoy Frieza. He wrapped his tail around Goku's throat, causing him to gasp out as the tyrant lifted him back up into the sky. With Goku briefly immobolized, Frieza took the chance to throw several punches, specifically in his stomach and on his face.

"Come on now! Scream! Show me your anguish!" Frieza cried, giving another powerful punch into his stomach, causing Goku to cry out.

"This is bad! It seems like Goku has underestimated this Golden Frieza!" Krillin stated. Gohan clenched his fists. "This is bad. We can't let him go on like this. We have to help him!" he stated. The two looked like they were about to go after him, but I stood in front of them. "No, you can't! If you try to face him, he'll kill you! He's too strong!" I stated.

"She's right, you know. None of you would stand a chance. If anyone should try to help him, it's Vegeta." Beerus stated matter of factly. We looked to Vegeta, who silently watched the battle up above with a blank expression.

"Come on, Vegeta! You gotta go help him!" Bulma stated. Vegeta ignored his wife though, and continued to watch the fight in silence. This made Bulma frustrated. "What're you waiting for?! Goku needs your help!" she stated.

"It seems it won't be that simple," we all looked to Whis as he spoke, "these two prefer to fight their battles by themselves. They might've teamed up in the past, but they don't seem keen on doing it again." he replied. The angel glanced to me. "However, Zira here also has a chance to defeat him. She is on the same level as both Goku and Vegeta." he said. My eyes widened before looking away shamefully. It's not like I didn't want to help Goku. Of course I did! And I knew I could handle Frieza's power if I used my true strength. But....

"I....I don't know if I can! I hate fighting others, even against enemies! I don't even know if I have the willpower to kill Frieza!" I admitted, a shadow covering over my eyes. I clenched my fists tightly as I felt confliction overtake me. If I do nothing, everyone here could get killed! I don't want that! Is killing Frieza....really the only way I can do this?!

"Zira...." Krillin said.

"....ugh, dammit." I perked up upon hearing Vegeta's voice, seeing a frustrated expression on his face. Even so, he gave me a dead serious expression.

"Zira, what you said before....you really believe that bastard can change?" his question surprised me, making my eyes widen. However I quickly nodded. "I do. I know how ridiculous it sounds, but you have to believe me." I stated. Vegeta gave a heavy sigh before speaking his next words, seemingly dreading what he would say next.

"If you can weaken Frieza enough without killing him....I know what we can do with him afterwards."
