Chapter Eight
"I say... we go to the cinema and-" Hermione smiled as she ticked off where she wanted to go for their first date.
"You know what? I'll pick!" Draco rolled his eyes, "The cinema? Seriously?"
"Draco, shut up!" laughed Hermione, "It'll be fun!"
"Only if we see a horror film. No romance and no comedy." challenged Draco.
"Draco, Draco, Draco," chanted Hermione, sighing she moved closer to him and took his hand, "You want me to scream just so I can grab you and thank you for being their for me?"
"Hmm... No! That'd be way too cliché!" Draco grinned, tapping her nose softly, "I just want to see you get scared..."
"I won't get scared."
"Let's go see a scary film, you should be fine."
Hermione stared at Draco, she didn't want to admit that she would probably cling onto his arm when the murders and the climax at the end happened. Hermione just wasn't made for scary movies.
"Well?" asked Draco, grinning like he knew what she was thinking.
"Fine. Scary movie it is!" Hermione agreed.
Two could play at that game!
Draco half smiled, half frowned.
"I'll pick you up at 8..." he said, slinging his jacket onto one shoulder.
"Where are you going?" Hermione asked standing up.
"I need to do something but I will be back so don't worry okay?" Draco stroked her hair and kissed her swiftly on the lips.
"Okay." Hermione said, "Thought you made the 'no kissing' rule?"
Draco shrugged and his lips lifted up into a smile, "No rules, only... um... Guidelines?"
Draco left after a chuckle and Hermione's hand went up to touch her tingling lips. Draco really made her feel like the only girl in the world. He was everything she most desperately needed.

Hermione walked out of the bathroom. The steam from the shower radiated out of the open bathroom door and Hermione's hair hung loose and wet over her shoulders.
She glanced at the clothes on the bed and walked over to them. Pulling them on she checked herself out in the mirror. She had decided on a long, up to her knees dress, which was a nice peach colour and her ankle length boots.
Pleased with her appearance, she quickly perfected her make up and dried her hair, straightening it so it hung over her shoulders perfectly.
"Done." she said out loud, patting down her dress.
"You look good..."
The voice made Hermione's turn around, startling her. She grinned as she saw Draco, leaned againt the door, holding flowers. He was dressed in a black shirt and jeans. Simple but he looked good.
"Here these are for you," smiled Draco, handing her the flowers, "I'm sorry, I couldn't find anything else to wear so I just..."
He gestured to his clothes but Hermione told him he looked good. She set the flowers down, thanking him for it and took his hand.
"Shall we, Madam?" Draco said in a weird French accent.
"We shall." Hermione giggled and they went downstairs.
Draco led Hermione to the car and locked the door of the house. He sat in the car and started it, reversing out of her driveway.
"Thought we'd do it the muggle way." Draco said, zooming forwards.
"Anyway is fine, as long as I'm with you." Hermione grinned.
"That's really cheesy, you know..." Draco chuckled as Hermione scowled at him.
They talked for a while, Hermione felt the cool breeze on her face from the slightly open window. She listened to the radio and in no time Draco was escorting her out of the car. Hermione smiled but he didn't return it.
His face looked solemn and it looked like he was concentrating very hard on something. Hermione gripped his arm tight as they walked in.
She couldn't comprehend what he was thinking about. Was he thinking about his family? Or Hermione? Did he think he made a mistake in coming back to her?
"Hermione..." Draco muttered, his eyes looked to the ground, making his eyelashes stand out, "I'm sorry..."
"Sorry?" Hermione asked, taking his hands, "Draco, look at me."
Draco looked up and stared straight into her eyes. He sighed, searching for something between those brown orbs that were her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked, getting worried for Draco.
"I..." muttered Draco, "We don't have to watch a scary film. We can watch whatever you want."
Hermione let out a relieved chuckle, "I thought it was something way worse!"
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Let's go," Draco tool her hand.
They bought a ticket for some romantic comedy film. Sitting in the cinema, Hermione's hand was wrapped in Draco as the film started playing. Hermione laughed at the funny bits, clutched Draco's hand at the sad part at the end. Draco didn't know what the film was about because he glanced at Hermione every so often. One thought ran through his head.
Was he making the wrong choice?
"That was so funny!" cried Hermione, "Although the part at the end was a little off putting. Why can't everyone have a fairy tale ending?"
Hermione glanced at Draco to see him, staring into the distance. He was staring at thin air it seemed.
"Draco," Hermione tugged his hand and he looked to her, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm..." Draco cleared his throat, "I'm fine. So... Where do you want to go now?"
"Where do you want to go?" Hermione asked as they neared the car.
"Um... I'll take you somewhere." Draco said.
They sat in the car and Hermione couldn't help but think that Draco was more than a little distracted.

Draco's POV
The engine roared to life and Draco reversed out. He glanced at Hermione, who was staring out of the window.
"I love you." whispered Draco to Hermione.
She looked at him. Something flashed in her chocolate eyes. She smiled and replied, "I love you too."
"Do you trust me?" asked Draco.
"What do you-"
"Do you trust me?" asked Draco again, he slowed down and turned left.
Hermione stared at him and he looked straight ahead. He ignored the warning in his head that were screaming for him to turn back.
"I need you to trust me, understand?" Draco glanced at her, "Please, Hermione?"
"Where are you taking me, Draco?" she asked, panic forming in her tone, "Please Draco. I want to go home!"
She looked out of her window, panicking. Draco turned the corner and stopped his car. They were in a very secluded place. No houses. No shops. No cars. Only large trees.
"Get out the car." Draco muttered, cutting the engine.
He climbed out of the car and waited for Hermione. She didn't get out. He sighed and went to her door. Opening it, she glance up at him.
"Come on." Draco grabbed her hand, unlocked her seat belt and pushed her out of the car.
"What are we doing here?" Hermione asked, "It's really dark. Draco, I'm scared."
She cuddled closer to Draco and he hesitated. She should be scared... One side of his mind tried to reason with him, telling him he loved her and would he really do this to her? The other side encouraged Draco to let her go and do it for himself and his family.
"No..." muttered Draco, wrapping his arms around her, "No. I won't do this to you..."
After the words left his mouth a large scream issued from each side of them, making Hermione jump in fear. They looked around for the source of the noise. They heard heavy footsteps, running. Running towards them. From a small distance, they saw some shadowed figures charging at them, with wands.
Draco turned to Hermione, who was frozen in fear. He grabbed her face to make her look at him. She widened her eyes and Draco breathed heavily before taking a huge breath
"RUN!" Draco screamed, "RUN! NOW!"
