Prologue
A few leaves crunch as I walk through my usual path, seeing that the weather was getting colder.
"You're so sweet!"
I hear a girl voice, my eyebrows scrunch together, walking over to the nearby voices. Curiosity get's the best of me, hiding behind a tree.
Holy Shit.
Her dark brown hair, somewhat short, as if she just got a haircut. Was tucked behind her ears, her skin a glowing tan, and her lips. The cold outside made her lips a little bit rosy, even with the warmth she's already gotten from the sun. As did her cheeks.
"I've been meaning to ask you something, Eve."
The name's, Eve..
"We've known each other for a few months, and I can't get you out of my head.."
Her playful expression drops to a serious manner, he holds onto her hands. I don't know what it was, but I felt jealous in a way. I don't know why. He stared at her.
"I know what I'm about to ask is insane, and you'll probably run off. Or I'll ruin what we have now,"
He closes his eyes, Eve still impassive.
"But, will you Evelyn Lewis, make me the happiest boy alive,
I could see her expression change.
"And be my girlfriend?"
He winces, afraid of her reaction, I place my hand in my pockets. Another cold breeze hits me. In a matter of seconds a large smile starts to form on her plump lips, she grabs his face, their lips colliding. I widen my eyes, he holds onto her hands, reciprocating. I looked away, slightly awkward, a light blush rises on my face.
Before I knew it, they stopped, turning around again. They're both smiling at each other.
"Yes?"
She nods, laughing. He jumps up, excited, twirling her in his arms. His shaggy brown hair like mine, and muscular body grips onto her body. He had brown eyes like mine, come to think about it, he reminded me of me. My height, my body, his girl...
"My girlfriend is Evelyn Lewis!"
He screams out, Eve punches him in the arm. Telling him to shut up, he laughs.
"Everyone needs to know that you,"
He intertwines her hand around his.
"Are my girlfriend."
She was shy in a way that caught my attention, something about her made me want to come back. They walk back inside the house of their backyard. I walk back, more leaves crunching, I see that they're looking in my direction. Shit. I start running quickly, jumping over logs, and stumps.
Way to be slick, Mendes. Living in these woods for most of your life, you pick up a few skills. Dashing through the path, I find my cabin, my breathing irregular. You need to work more on your cardio, Shawn. I plop down on my dark brown, suede couch, throwing my head back.
Over and over again, I hear her voice echoing through my mind, her face stuck in my head.
Who are you, Eve? And what are you doing to me?
