Chapter 31 - The Plan Set in Motion

[Daryl's POV]

"You fucking bastard!" I growled as I charged at Rick. Maggie stepped in front of me, while Shane held me back. "How could you just leave her there?!" He shook his head and motioned for me to come over to the truck, where he has a map. "What's this?" I ask, more calmly. "It's a map. Haley drew it from the last time she was there. She got it pretty damn accurate. I gotta say." Rick explained. I looked at it and it was a round circle with red circles on places. "What's the red circles?" Glenn asked. "They are the weak spots that she believes they didn't fix. Plus, less guarded." He explained. I let out a frustrated sigh. "Can we quit fuckin' talkin' 'bout some dumb ass circles and tell me what the plan is?!" I snap. I'm more on edge than anything. She is back in the hands of that dirty bastard. "Okay. So the plan is that Glenn, Maggie, you and I will go through this weak spot. Hershel and Shane will be back here to be able to get us out of here as fast as we can." he explains as he points to the circled area that's farthest to the left. "Where we silently navigate ourselves through there. They have a set curfew so we will need to stay out of sight. Haley said they will either be locked down in the rooms underground on the far right or in the main apartment building, near the top because that is apparently where he stays. We are going to wait till nightfall, because they are more than likely expecting us, but after night we will be able to blend into the darkness better." We all nodded at Rick's plan. Hold on Rebecca...

[Rebecca's POV]

"Follow me girls." Carlos said with a grin. He led us through the place. After you got past the heavily guarded front it was actually a small town. It had what looked like to be a total of 3 apartment complexes, several houses, and small shack type places. He led us to the middle apartment complex. The people waved to Carlos and he returned it. They smiled at us, though they didn't even know us. I sent a cautious glance to Haley and she returned it. He led us up the stairs. I could feel his gaze on us as we climbed them. I had to take a few quiet deep breathes to keep myself from not snapping on him and snapping his neck... "The door up ahead." he instructed. At the end of the hall there was a single door it read "310" and below was "Leader". Very stupid thing to do in case someone breaks in here, but hey, who would do that right? I thought to myself. Haley cautiously opened the door and inside was a huge room. It looked like the penthouse suite in a way, but it wasn't. We stepped in with him behind us. His arm snaked around my waist causing me to cringe. "Now that you're here to stay, this is where you will be staying. There will be no need to leave this room. Or I should word it... You CAN'T leave this room." he said with a laugh. I moved away from slightly, but he pulled me closer to him. "Tsk tsk. Don't be shy. You guys will be my special girls." he said as he pulled me closer to him. He pulled my head closer to him as he started to kiss me. It made me feel sick. I pushed away from him and he let out a small laugh. "I will be back at night. Clean yourselves up, we are going to have some fun." And with that said he shut the door. We heard a series of clicks, signifying that all chances of escaping through there was gone. As soon as the door was closed I started aggressively scrubbing my mouth with my sleeve. "Disgusting." I growled as I spit on the floor. I walk over to the window. I look down and it's a straight shot down. "Well the windows aren't an option." I say with a sigh. I hear footsteps and I turn to see Haley walking in and out of the other rooms. "These windows are not any good either." she stated, looking just as disappointed as me. "What now?" I ask, feeling anxious. We never considered the possibility of us not being able to escape. I know they said they could come look for us in the buildings suggested... but it will make the escape more noticed. "I... I don't know, but I know we will think of something and get out of here." Haley said as she put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. I let out a sigh and sat down on the couch.

[Daryl's POV, hours later]

It was starting to get dark and we put the plan in motion. I clutched my crossbow till my knuckles turned white as we neared the place. We came to the edge of the tree line. Rick motioned for us to follow his direction. We followed him around the front, crouched down. There exactly where it was circled was a weak spot in the fence. It was weak enough that humans could pull it back, but not a serious threat from walkers. Rick pulled it back and motioned for us in. We came out behind a building. "Okay, we split here. Daryl, you, Shane, and I will head towards the apartment complex." he instructed. I nodded. "Maggie, and Glenn, you guys split off and check out the underground containment. If it is guarded look for an opening. Don't draw any unnecessary attention to yourself." he said. We all nodded once more and broke off in two separate directions. We bobbed and weaved in and out of the alley ways. We came upon the building area. "Daryl, you take the top and get them, and I will take the bottom. Let's get in and out." he ordered. We quickly went in. It was pretty much empty, but Haley said the main one was empty except for that bastard. I crept around the corners, crossbow at the ready. I came to a hallway, that didn't have many rooms. It was identical to the rest of them except there was a single door at the end of the hall. I crept towards it. It said "Leader" on it. I walked up to the door and put my hand on the knob, I turned it slowly and it was unlock. It put me slightly on edge, till I saw a body on the floor. At the sight of it, I knew who it was. Rebecca. "Rebecca!" I say quickly. At the sound of her name there was a groan. I quickly entered the room. "Daryl, no." she groaned as I knelt beside her. "What? It's okay. I'm here." I say. "No Daryl, it's a trap." she says groggily. That's when I feel something hit me in the back of the head. Rebecca screamed my name before everything went black.

I groggily opened my eyes with a groan. I open my eyes and look over to see Rick, he had a busted lip and a black eye forming, Glenn was clutching Maggie in his arms, and I saw Haley was sitting with her arms on her knees as she stared at her hands. I groggily moved and everyone took notice to me. "Are you okay?" Rick asked as he moved towards me. "Where's Rebecca?" I asked. They all quiet and looked the other way. I stood up quickly, even though my head was spinning. "Where. is. REBECCA?!" I repeated, getting more furious. "Carlos took her." Haley spoke, not looking up from her hands.

[Rebecca's POV]

I sat at the end of the table. It set me on edge being in the same room with him... again. Though this one was different. He sat down and looked at me with a smile. "So tell me... Where's the place you guys came from? Must be impressive to house all you people." he said. "I'm not telling you." I said. That's when it hit me... Tim didn't tell him... He must not realize Tim helped me. "Do you want to have fun again?" he asked threateningly with a sickly sweet smile. A shiver ran down my spine, but I kept a poker face. "Do what you want to me. I don't care. I'm not going to tell you." I said confidently, though I felt the opposite. He got quiet for a while. He looked like he was plotting something. He then looked back up to me with a bigger smile. "That redneck... He seems to care a lot about you and vice versa. Would be a shame if he lost a hand." he said nonchalantly. I tensed at his sentence. He seemed to notice he struck a nerve somewhere. I didn't say anything. "Fine." he stated. He got up out of his chair and roughly grabbed my arm. He pulled me out of the room and into the hall where several men were waiting. He led me to another room and he opened the door. My eyes widened when I saw Rick, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, and Haley. The men came in and restrained Rick, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, and Haley. "What are you doing?!" I growled at him. "What needs to be done." he simply says. He snapped his fingers and the man holding Daryl forced him to his knees. Carlos pulled out a gun and pointed it at my head. "Where is your camp?" he asked. Daryl glared daggers at him. He grabbed my hair back, causing my head to snap back with a small yelp, and put it under my chin. "I'm not playing around." he growled. "You bastard!" Haley growled. Daryl went to open his mouth. "Don't!" I snapped at him. Carlos pulled my hair more before letting it go and pointed the gun at Daryl, changing tactics. He cocked the gun and put his finger on the trigger. "It's in a town." I blurted out. I sent a sorrowful look to Daryl, as I felt tears form in my eyes. "Where?" he growled. "Youngstown." I answered. He let out a scoff before turning me around. "Was that so hard?" he said with a smirk. I glared daggers at him through the tears. He pushed me roughly to the ground in front of Daryl, before snapping his fingers and the men released the group. "Might as well enjoy your time together. Tomorrow will be the end." he said as he slammed the door shut. Daryl pulled me into his arms as I broke down sobbing. "I'm sorry." I repeatedly said into his chest. "It's okay, Rebecca. We all would have done it, if it was us." Rick said reassuringly. Though it didn't help how shitty I felt. "Plus you didn't give him all the info." Haley said as she stood up. "Might as well have." I sobbed. "Like we are going to sit around and let him go even near there. He should learn." Haley said with a small smile and a shake of her head. "Learn what?" Glenn asked. "He never should have put us together." she said cockily. I let out a small laugh as I wiped the tears off my face.

Well that was exciting. Right? They go to rescue her only to find out it was a trap. Seriously guys, you literally said they'd be expecting you... Sad... Even though I wrote this... Still sad....
