Chapter 15 - An Accident.
Chapter 15 - An Accident.
[Third Person's POV]
Rick ran carrying Rebecca's lifeless body. He wasn't even sure if she was alive, but one thing was for sure... He had to find him. He had to find "Hershel". Dillan followed Rick keeping up with his pace. Dillan's tear stained face was plastered with worry. He worried for his sister. Shane was behind them, hastening her shooter. "Hey! You move shithead!" he growled at the man. The man that shot her, Otis was his name, told them to look for the farm. Rick stopped to adjust his grip on Rebecca's body. "How far?!" he yelled at the large man. "How far!?" he repeated. "About a half mile that way! Talk to Hershel, he will help the girl. Talk... to Hershel." he said, trying to catch his breath. Rick continued ahead. He blamed himself for this, if only he would've made her stay with the group. If only he hadn't agreed for her to come. She'd be okay. Her little brother wouldn't be on the verge of breaking down. Every time he glanced down at her unconscious face, guilt washed over him. Shane urged the man to hurry up, only to cause him to fall. He violently grabbed the man by his beefy arm and hoisted him up. "Come on!" he growled. He dragged the man to his feet and pushed him forward.
Rick came in sight of the farmhouse. Relief washed over him as he made it past the fence. An old man, blonde woman, a young man with a tight grip on a baseball bat, who is ready to use it if needed, a young blonde haired girl and another blonde haired girl that looked around Rebecca's age. "Was she bit?" Hershel called to the man as he neared the house. Rick adjusted his grip on Rebecca's body. "No she was shot... by your man." Rick said frantically. "Otis?" the blonde woman questioned. She could hardly believe her husband would shoot a young girl. "He said find Hershel. Are you Hershel? Please you gotta help her." he stammered to the old man. He followed the man up the porch steps and into the house. The man led them to the back room where he led them to a back room. "Patricia I need my kit." he ordered to the blonde woman. "Maggie, pain killers, grab everything. Clean towels, sheets, alcohol." he said to the brown haired girl. She nodded and headed into another room. Hershel pulled the confider off the bed. "Here." he said to the frantic Rick. He carefully set Rebecca down on the bed. Dillan clung desperately to his sister's hand, holding it to his face as he cried. "Can you help her? Can you help my sister?!" he cried. "Pillow case." Hershel said, ignoring Dillan. "Is she alive?" Rick stammered. "Pillow case!" Hershel ordered louder this time. Rick took the pillow out of the pillow case. His mind was flooded with emotion as he went through this in a trance. Hershel unbuttoned the bottom of her shirt, revealing the wound. "Fold it, make a pad." Hershel said. The girls came back, all except the other blonde girl; though in the heat of the moment, it went unnoticed. "Put pressure on it." he said as Rick pressed down on the wound. Dillan was still holding his sister's hand as the scene unfolded. He felt that if he let go, he'd be letting go of his sister forever. Patricia quickly handed Hershel a stethoscope. He put it in his ears and placed it on her chest. He listened, the room falling quiet around him. He let out a small breath of relief. "I have a heartbeat. It's faint." Hershel said. Rick let a breath of relief as he continued to put pressure on the wound. "I got it from here." Patricia said, taking over. "We need some space." Maggie said as she moved past Rick to Rebecca. "Your names." Hershel said. "Rick. Rick. I'm Rick." Rick stammered. His head was spinning. Everything was going so fast. "Well, Rick. We are going to do everything we can to help her, but you need to give us some room." Hershel said nodding to him and Dillan. Rick walked over and put his hand on Dillan. "N-No. I can't leave her. Please." he sobbed. "Come on. We need to give them space." Rick said. Dillan looked up at him and then down at his sister's unconscious face. He never seen her like this... So fragile. It looked like she could break at any minute. Usually she was strong, cocky, and brave. Dillan reluctantly followed Rick out into the living room, where they heard Shane yelling. Rick looked to the window and saw his friend running to the house, yelling at Otis to hurry up. He staggered to the door with Dillan following. He stepped out on the porch and shakily took his hat off. Otis and Shane stopped at the step of the porch. "She alive? She still alive?" Otis asked. Rick wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, causing her blood to smear on him. "Hey hey." Shane said as he stepped up the stairs. He dug through his backpack, pulling out a rag. "It's okay. You got blood..." he said in a soothing tone as he wiped Rick's face. He placed the rag in Rick's hand. Rick looked down at his hands, he hadn't fully realized how much blood he had on him. Her blood stained the front of his shirt and coated his hands. He shakily wiped his hands off. This increased the guilt. She had lost a lot of blood. Shane took the rag from him and knelt down by Dillan who was crying. He carefully wiped the smear of blood on his cheek. "Where is she?" Shane asked Dillan. He grabbed his hand and led him in the house. He brought Shane to the doorway where they were hovering over Rebecca. It boiled Shane's blood that someone hurt Rebecca. If it wasn't for Rick being here, he'd probably have already planted a bullet in that fat bastard's head. Shane never realized that he had feelings for Rebecca, but it wasn't normal feelings either. It was a possessive feeling. He didn't see her as a person, more of as an object.
"Do you know her blood type?" Hershel asked Rick. "N-No. She's never mentioned it." he stammered. Hershel looked up at the little boy, who he recalled calling her his sister. "Do you know?" he asked. Dillan shook his head. "We can't do anything till you tell me her blood type." Hershel said. The realization that because no one knows her blood type hit Rick like a rock. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "S-So you can't help my sister?" Dillan cried. Hershel looked down, focusing on putting pressure on her wound. They stood in silence, the only sound was Dillan's sob. "Her blood type is A positive." said a voice. Dillan looked up to see the one blonde girl. "How do you know?" Rick questioned skeptically. "We don't have time. Does anyone have that type?" Hershel said interrupting. "I do." Rick stated. "It's a good thing." Hershel sighed.
"What happened?" Hershel asked. "Was tracking a deer. Finally caught up with it and shot it. Went through and hit her." Otis explained. The deer slowed the bullet down. It certainly saved her life.... but it did not go through cleanly. It broke up into pieces. I can get the bullet fragments out-- I count 6." Hershel said. "I didn't see her there. Not until she was on the ground." Otis whispered loudly to his wife. Rick let out a ragged breath. "I need my wife." he said. "No one knows.... no one...." he muttered. "It's okay." Shane says. "She need to know I'm okay." Rick said to him.
[Daryl's POV]
Lori stopped again and turned around, looking back at where the sound came from. "Still worried?" Andrea asked. "Yes. I mean, why just ONE gunshot?" she questioned. "We all heard it." I said, getting annoyed with stopping yet again. "Maybe they jus' took down a walker." I said. "Please don't patronize me. We both know Rick wouldn't risk it. He would do it quickly and quietly." Lori argued as she looked back to where the sound came from. "Shouldn't they have caught up with us by now?" Carol asked, her tone full of worry and concern. "Nothin' we can do about it anyways. Can't run around these woods chasin' echoes." I said, looking around for any sign of a walker. "So what do we do?" Lori asked. "Same as we been. Beat the bush with Sophia, then make our way back to the highway." I answered. Lori gave me a look of utter disbelief. I don't care what she feels like or her suspicions. We need to head back. I can't say I don't agree with her. There was an uneasy feeling deep inside me, telling me something isn't right. "We should go back to the highway, let them meet up with us there." Andrea agreed. Lori reluctantly nodded and we turned and started walking again. We stopped when we noticed Andrea and Carol standing back. "I'm sorry for what you're going through. I know how you feel." Andrea said to Carol. "I suppose you do. Thank you." Carol said looking at her, then glancing over at us. "The thought of her out here by herself.... it's killing me. I keep hoping and praying she doesn't end up like Amy." Carol says. I was surprised that she could say that in front of Andrea, who looked at her hurt. "Oh god." Carol started, suddenly realizing what she said. "I'm so sorry. That's the worst thing I said." Andrea shook her head and shook off Carol's comment. "We're all hoping and praying, for what it's worth." Andrea said. Getting annoyed with all the hoping and praying shit, I walk over to them. "Ya' know what its worth. Nothing. Jack shit. Why? Cause we're gunna locate that girl and she's gunna be fine. Everyone jus' gunna stand around here? Good lord." I said before walking off. Everyone went quiet and we started walking back.
[Third Person's POV]
"Why'd have to let her go with us?" Rick questioned himself while Shane sat next to him. "I should've listened to you... Made her go back with the group." Shane shook his head.
"You know if you start that, you'll never get that monkey off your back." Shane said to him quietly.
"Little girl goes missing, we find her. Simple as that. You said for her to go back. She got shot because I didn't listen to you. It should be me in there." he whispered as he looked at Dillan. Dillan was asleep on the couch. His cheeks stained from tears. He had his arms wrapped himself. Shane chuckled. "You been there partner. You pulled through, so should she." Shane said reassuringly. "How can you be for sure?" Rick started. "When I was shot, I had doctors... A medical system, fully stocked on medicine and technology. Even then, I was in a coma and somehow barely made it out alive. Her... She.... She has one doctor, only the supplies in this house and from what I've seen, not even the technology to monitor if she is even breathing." Rick looked down at his hands. "Stop it. Just stop it." Shane hissed. He was getting very tired of his friend's way of taking all the blame. "A girl goes missing... You find her plain and simple." he mumbled.
"Rick!" Maggie said bursting into the living room. Rick stood up and walked in with Shane following. They were surprised when they saw Rebecca awake. "She needs blood." she said to Rick. Rick was too distracted by her cries. She yelled out in agony. "Stop!" she yelled between cries. She struggled as she cried out in pain. "Please!" she begged as they tried to pin her down. "You! Hold her down!" Hershel ordered Shane. He quickly walked over and pinned her arms down as she squirmed. "Why?!" she sobbed as Hershel stuck tweezers in her wound to get the fragments, causing her to scream louder. "Almost there..." Hershel said out loud as he moved deeper. She cried out in pain. "Stop you're hurting her!" Dillan yelled as he ran over to them. "Rick get that kid out of here if you want this girl to live!" Hershel yelled. Rick quickly pushed Dillan out the door. "Wait here. Please." he said before closing the door. "She needs blood." Patricia said. Rick stood there staring at the screaming Rebecca. He's never seen her in so much pain. She always put others above her own safety, especially her own brother. "Do it now!" Shane yelled, snapping Rick from his thoughts. Rebecca grunted and cried as Hershel moved the tweezers. Rebecca's body went limp and the room went quiet. "Wait. Wait wait..." Rick said looking at Rebecca's lifeless body. Shane looked between the two frantically. "She just passed out." Hershel said. They let out a collected breath of relief. Hershel pulled out a small piece of metal and set it on a tray along with the tweezers. "One down.... Five to go." He said.
[??????'s POV]
I was surprised to see her here, let alone in that condition. Honestly, I thought about her this entire time after the shit hit the fan. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this kind family that graciously took me in.
I sat outside on the porch listening to Rebecca's agonizing screams. I gripped my knees causing my knuckles to turn white. Please be okay. I thought. It got quiet inside. I walked inside curious on why it got so quiet, but also dreading the answer. I looked to see the blonde boy sitting outside the door with his knees to his chest and his face buried in his knees. "She is going to be okay." I said as I knelt down next to him. He looked up at me, his eyes red from crying. "Come on, how about we get you a snack." I said to him. He looked back at the door hesitantly before getting up. I led him to the kitchen. "Here sit." I said motioning towards the table. He quietly took a seat on the side of the table and stared at his hands. I looked through the cupboards and smiled when I came across a small box of cookies. I pulled it out and a plate and put a few on the plate. I went to the fridge and got some milk and poured it in a glass, putting the milk back. I sat them down in front of him and took a seat across from him.
We sat in silence as he slowly ate the cookies. My curiosity got the better of me causing me to break the silence. "So, how exactly do you know her?" I asked. He looked up at me as he took a drink of his milk. "I'm her brother." he said quietly. "Wait," I said rubbing the bridge of my nose. "So you're Dillan?" He looked up at me confused. "You know my name?" he asked. "Yeah, Rebecca's little brother Dillan." I answered. "Wait, you know Becca?" he asked. I nodded. "How?" he asked. I opened my mouth to answer when Hershel walked in. "How is she?" I asked, beating Dillan to it. "She's stabilized. Good for now. I do need some fresh water from the well." Hershel said to me. I nodded and headed out of the room to the well.
****
I leaned against the door frame while Hershel took Rebecca's blood pressure. Dillan clutched onto her hand sitting next to her. "She's stabilized." Hershel announced. "Lori needs to be here. I need her to know what's going on. I have to go find her." Rick said. I rolled my eyes and looked at him. "Not if you want your friend to live." I stated. "She heard the gunshot. She will be freaking out and worrying. I need her to know I'm okay. And Carl... Carl is Becca's friend..." Rick stammered. "She will need more blood." Hershel said. Hershel looked over at the tall guy with curly hair that came with Rick. "He can't go more than 50 feet from this bed." he said to him. The guy nodded and walked over to Rick. "Come on." He helped him up and they walked out of the room. I followed behind them closing the door.
"She's stable for now." the man announced to Otis and Maggie. Relief washed over Otis's face. "Shane, Lori has to be here. She needs to know." Rick said. The man, apparently called Shane, nodded. "I understand. I'm going to handle it, but you gotta handle your end." Shane replied. Rick looked up at him. "My end?" he asked. "Being here. Giving her blood. Even if she didn't need you blood, I would still not let you out of this house at any cost. I will even break your legs if I need to." he replied. It may have been just me, but he sounded serious. "Think if something happened to her and you weren't here. You would never let yourself live it down." he said. Rick looked up, his face telling him that he was right. "You should've seen Lori, when you were in the hospital. She never left your side. The strength of that woman, you can't imagine it. That's what you have to have now. Rebecca needs you. You have the hard part, just leave the rest to me.
Hershel walked through the door. I stepped forward from leaning against the wall, awaiting the news. "She's stabilized for now, but I need to remove the remaining fragments." he said. "How? You saw how she was." Rick said to him. "I know and that was the shallowest one. I need to go deeper." he replied. "Oh man." Rick groaned. "There's more." Hershel added. "What?" Rick asked. "Her stomach is distended and her pressure is dropping. This means there's internal bleeding. A fragment must have nicked one of her blood vessels. I have to open her up and find the bleeder and stitch it. And she can't move in there. At all. If she reacts like before, I will sever an artery and she will be dead in minutes. To even try this I have to put her under, but if I do.... she won't be able to breathe. At least, not on her own. We will need a respirator." Hershel explained. "Do you have one?" Rick asked. Hershel shook his head. "What else?" Otis asked, now standing. "The tube that goes with it, more antibiotics, extra surgical supplies, drapes--" he said. "Will it save her?" Rick asked. "If I had all that I could try." I said. "The nearest hospital went up a month ago." I said. It was quiet for a few seconds, then it hit me. I looked over at Otis, who looked like he thought the same thing. "The high school." we said in unison. "That's what I was thinking. They set up a shelter there, they should have everything we need." Hershel said. "Place was overrun last time I saw it. Maybe it's clearer now." Otis said. "I said leave the rest to me... can I take that back?" Shane joked. "I hate you goin' alone." Rick said as he looked over to Shane. "Come on man. Least I can do. Draw me a map, get me a list." he said. "Won't need a map, I'll take you." Otis said. Patricia looked at him bewildered. "Otis, no." she said. "Honey we don't have time for guesswork and I'm responsible for this. I ain't gunna sit here while this man goes alone." he said sternly. "How will you even help?" Shane asked. "You don't even know what half the stuff looks like." Otis said. "And you do?" Shane asked coldly. "I worked part time as an EMT. This way we can just go and do it real quick." Otis replied. "Right quick?" Shane said. "I should thank you." Rick said. "Wait till the girl is okay. I'll gather some things." Otis replied. "Where is she? Your wife?" Maggie asked.
[Daryl's POV]
"Not a lot of sun left. Should call it." I said. "Let's head back." Lori said. "Pick up tomorrow?" Carol asked. "Yeah, we will find her tomorrow." Lori said reassuringly. I whistled to get their attention. I motioned for them to follow me as we started to head back.
"How much farther?" Lori asked. "Not much. Maybe a hundred yards, as the crow flies." I replied. "Too bad we're not crows." Andrea grumbled.
We barely noticed Andrea wandered off till we heard a scream. "Andrea?!" Lori yelled as we took off in that direction. We came just as a brown haired woman on a horse smashed a bat against the walkers head. "Lori? Lori Grimes?" she questioned. "I'm Lori." Lori said as Carl ran up beside her. "Rick sent me. We need you to come with us." She said quickly. "W-What?" Lori stammered. "There's been an accident, Rebecca's been shot." she said. I looked at her in shock. Rebecca. Shot? What? I thought, trying to comprehend what she was saying. "She's still alive, but I need you to come with me quickly. Rick needs you." she continued. Lori took off her backpack and grabbed Carl and started to walk to her. "Whoa whoa whoa. You don't know this girl. You can't get on that horse." I said trying to stop her. "You in that big traffic jam on the highway?" the woman asked. Glenn nodded. "Backtrack to Fairborn Road, 2 miles. You will see a mail box that reads 'Greene'." she said before they galloped off. I stared in the direction she left with Carl and Lori. The walked she took down came back up growling. "Shut up." I hissed as I shot it with an arrow and stormed off.
"Shot?! What do you mean shot?!" Dale asked. "I don't know Dale. All I know is this chick rode in on a horse like Zoro and took Lori." Glenn replied. "You let them?" Dale asked in disbelief. "Out of my control. She knew Lori's, Rick's, and Rebecca's name." I said as I walked away and leaned against the RV. "I heard a scream. Was that you?" Dale asked Andrea. She ignored him and walked away in a huff towards the RV door. "What's wrong with her?" Dale asked Glenn. "She got attacked by a walker. It was a close call." Glenn replied. "Andrea you alright?" Dale asked. Andrea turned around from the door and gave him a look of "Do I look alright?" and then went in the RV.
"I won't do it. We can't just leave her here." Carol said. "Carol, the group is split. We're scattered and weak." Dale explained. "What if she comes back and we're not here? It could happen." Carol said, adding that last part mainly for herself. "To be a young girl and come back to no one... that would be awful." Andrea agreed. I shifted my weight from foot to foot. "Okay, okay. We gotta plan for this. I say we leave first thing in the morning for starter. Will give us a chance to raise a big sign, leave 'er some supplies. I'll stay all night with the RV." I say to them. "If the RV stays so do I." Dale chimed. "Thank you. Thank you both." she said giving us both grateful looks. I nod to her in return. "I'm in." Andrea said raising her hand. "If you're all staying then--" Glenn started. "No, you and T-dog go to the farm. Take Carol's Cherokee." Dale interrupted. "Me, why is it always me?" he asked. "T-dog has a really bad infection. He might not make it another night. Take him to the farm, see if they have any antibiotics." Dale said. A thought popped in my head and I turned to Merle's motorcycle. I pulled a dirty rag off his motorcycle sending a quick glare to Dale before I pulled his stash of drugs out. Man will he be pissed. I thought. I walked over and tossed the rag at Dale. "Keep your oily rag off ma' brother's motorcycle." I said. I set it down and started looking through it. "Why didn't you say anything till now?" Dale asked. "Its ma' brother's stash." I replied. I continued doing it. "Crystal, Etz... Don't need none of that." I said as I pulled a bottle out. "I have some kick ass painkillers." I say as I toss it to Glenn. "Doxycycline." I said pulling another bottle out. "Not the generic stuff neither. First class. Merle got the clap on occasion." I added.
[??????'s POV]
I glanced over at Dillan who was asleep next to Rick's kid, I believe his name was Carl. Lori and Rick were sitting in the room with Rebecca and I was out on the porch in the corner. I heard a car door shut and I glanced up from the chair to see two guys coming towards the house. They stopped before the stairs in the light. It was a large black guy and a small Asian guy, carrying a shotgun. "So do we ring the bell? It looks like people live here." said the Asian. "We're past that kind of stuff aren't we? Having to be considerate." the black guy said as they took their way up the stairs. "Did you close the gate up as you drove in?" I asked causing them to jump slightly. "Uh, hi. Yes we closed it. Did the latch and everything." the Asian said awkwardly. Just then Maggie came out the door and stopped. "You scaring the visitors?" she joked to me. I let out a small laugh as I stood up. "Nah, take more than me to scare these people." I joked back as I head inside. I noticed the flirtatious vibe coming off Glenn towards Maggie. I couldn't help, but roll my eyes as I stepped inside. I watched the Asian and the black guy walk into the room Lori, Hershel, and Rick were in. Then a few seconds later they walked out.
I stepped into the room and leaned against the door frame. Hershel lift the blanket from Rebecca's stomach and her bandage was covered in blood. "We have some decisions to make." Hershel said. "And that is?" Rick asked. "Whether to operate on your girl without a respirator." he said. "You said that wouldn't work." said the woman named Lori. "I know. It's extremely unlikely, but we can't wait any longer." Hershel said looking up at them. Lori got up and left the room, brushing past me. Rick followed soon after. I sat down in the chair and leaned back. I looked over at Rebecca's pale face. "I wonder if you will even remember me." I said with a small laugh.
I must have fell asleep because I woke up to the sound of coughing. I bolted up and looked at Rebecca. "Rick, Lori!" I yelled as I stepped out in the hall. They came running in. I leaned in the back as Rebecca woke up. Hershel was on one side of the bed, Rick and Lori were on the other. She looked around, breathing heavily. "W-Where are we?" she asked. "Hey Rebecca, welcome back. That's Hershel. We're in his house. You had an accident." she said motioning towards him. "It hurts." she groaned in between breaths. "We know, but Dillan is okay thanks to you." Rick said. She gave a small pained smile. "It's all my fault. If I wouldn't have let you come...." Rick said, tearing up. "No it's not. I insisted on coming." she said with a smile. "You know how stubborn I can be." she mused through the pain. "Did you see it?" she asked. Lori looked at Rick confused. "The deer. It was so beautiful. I'm glad Dillan got to see the little bit of beauty during this dark time." she said. Rick smiled and nodded. Just then Rebecca got quiet and her eyes rolled back. "Rebecca?" I said moving off the wall. She started jerking all of a sudden, Rick tried to grab her arm, but Hershel stopped him. "It's a seizure. If you hold her down she could hurt herself." I said pushing them back. After a while she stopped and stilled.
****
"You have to make a choice!" Hershel said. "A choice?!" Lori asked in disbelief. They looked at each other. "Do whatever you can to save her." Rick said. Hershel came in seconds later with Patricia and a gurney. "Okay let's get the sheets down everybody." he ordered. "Get the IV bag on the sheet, please." I handed him the IV bag. "Okay, let's start. One... two... three..." he counted as we lifted the sheet with Rebecca on it. We set her down on the gurney and Hershel uncovered the tools. He was just about to cut into her when the sound of tires on gravel. We looked out the window. "They're back." I said as we hurried out the door.
Shane stepped out of the truck and limped over to us. "Rebecca?" he asked. "Still has a chance." Rick answered. Hershel took his bag and looked at the truck. "Otis?" he asked. "No." Shane said as he shook his head. "We say nothing to Patricia. I need her." Hershel said as he headed into the house. Shane looked down at the ground and up at Rick like he was going to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. Rick engulfed his distraught friend into a hug. "They kept blocking us at every turn. We had nothing left. We were down to 10 rounds. Then he said... he said he'd cover me a-and that I should keep going. So that's what I did. I just... I kept going, but I... I looked back and he.... I tried." Shane explained. I put a comforting hand on Maggie's back. I couldn't stand the thought of Otis being.... I just can't... I walked back into the house and into the room I was staying in.
***The Next Morning***
The entire morning was silent. I leaned against the porch when I heard the rumbling of a motorcycle. I glanced down the driveway to see a RV, police car, and a motorcycle coming. I went inside to tell Rick and Lori. "How is she?" I asked first. "She was awake. Asked about Dillan and Sophia. She went back to sleep though." Rick replied. I nodded. "Your people are here." I said. They went out the door.
[Daryl's POV]
After no sign of Sophia we left supplies and a sign for Sophia. I stepped off my motorcycle and looked at the house. "How is she?" Dale asked. "She's fine. She was just awake, but she fell back asleep." Rick replied. I brushed past him and walked into the room they said she was in. I saw a girl, she looked around Rebecca's age, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked up at me confused. "Who are you?" I asked as I eyed her over. "Why does it matter?" she retorted. I sent a glare her way, which she returned. Dale, Shane, Rick, and Lori came in behind me. "Is there a problem?" Rick asked. "Nothin' jus' trying to figure out who the hell she is." I grunted. She rolled her eyes and looked down at Rebecca. He gaze softened at the sight of her unconscious face. "Who are you?" Dale asked. "Just a person that knows Rebecca." she said, eyeing me over. This only caused me to get pissed off more. I took a step over. "You better explain yourself girlie." I threatened. "Or what?" she asked. I let out a grunt and stepped back. "How did you know Rebecca's name and blood type?" Rick asked, taking a calmer approach. "I'm her friend. Best friend if I do say so myself." she replied. Rick looked at me confused and I shrugged. "What is your name anyways?" Dale asked.
"Haley Gross." she replied.
