Chapter 4~ everyone ships it.
Astrid's POV
"Hiccstrid." Punzie whispered in my ear for the millionth time.
"Ugh Punzie for the last time stop with the hiccstrid! We're just friends." (I felt a pain in my chest writing that) I said with an annoyed tone. She just looked away innocently as if she hadn't done anything. The bell screeched and our teacher walked in the door.
"Ah morning guys." Ms. Wilkenson said with a cheerful tone. "I'm sorry but we have an actual assignment." Everyone groaned. "Don't worry it isn't due until next week!" She added with a loud voice. Everyone cheered.
"So what's the assignment?" A girl asked.
"Oh you just have to write a 1 page long summary on your favorite movie. And why it's your favorite." She stated. "Shouldn't be that hard right?"
"Not at all." I whispered to Punzie. She nodded and faced forward again.
"So that's due on Tuesday of next week. I'll need give weekend homework due on Mondays and I'll never give tests on Mondays. Having to learn on a Monday is totally bananas." She said and sat in her desk. "So start drafting your summary on paper and type it whenever you want as long as it's here on Tuesday." She said then opened her laptop. I grabbed a sheet of lined paper and a black pen.
"So what movie are you doing?" Punzie questioned.
"I'm gonna do How To Train Your Dragon. You know how much I love that movie. What about you?" I said.
"I'm gonna do Tangled. Hey, where's Merida?" Punzie asked. As if on que, Merida walks through the door, catching our attention. She walked over to her seat.
"What did I miss?" She asked.
"We have to write a one page long essay on our favorite movie and why it's our favorite. Where were you?" I explained.
"I woke up late. When's the assignment due?"
"Tuesday of next week. What movie are you gonna do?" Punzie asked.
"Oh that's easy, Brave." She said. "What about you guys?"
"I'm doing HTTYD, and Punz is doing Tangled." I told.
"Ooh nice ones!" She said happily. We've all liked mostly the same movies since we were kids, so that makes it easier to choose what movie to watch at my house during sleep overs. "Did you hear about the second movie?"
"Of course I have. I heard through Tumblr." I said with a slight sarcastic tone.
"There's a second one?" Punzie asked.
"Yeah and it looks so amazing!" Merida and I said at the same time.
"Cool wanna see it together?" Punzie invited.
"Duh, that's our tradition. Any new movie that we're all interested in, we see together." I stated.
"That's true." Merida agreed and we began drafting out essays.
Hiccup's POV
I sat in my desk thinking about what movie I should choose. Should I go with my actual favorite movie, which is How To Train Your Dragon, or should I fake it and just do something like The Avengers or Captain America? I was afraid of people laughing at me because my favorite movie was an animated movie, because that's happened in the past. I was 12 when I first saw it, and I had all these fun t-shirts and merchandise. I wore a t-shirt to school once and everyone laughed at me as soon as I walked in the door. I've kept all of my merchandise hidden ever since. Flynn doesn't even know what my favorite movie is. The only ones that know are Jack, my dad and Toothless. Well, might as well be a risk taker.
"What movie you doing?" Jack said, snapping me out of my thinking state and back to reality.
"Oh uh probably HTTYD." I said quietly.
"No need to whisper Flynn went to the bathroom. You were just emerged in your thoughts so you didn't notice." He said.
"Oh. What movie are you doing?" I asked trying to make myself sound less stupid.
"Probably Rise of the Guardians. Favorite movie of all time. I don't care if people judge me because next year I'm doing a Jack Frost cosplay and going to Comic-Con. Dude you should come with and cosplay as Hiccup from HTTYD 2!" He said and punched my shoulder happily.
"I'll talk to my dad but cosplays are hard to make." I stated simply.
"Nah I mean you already look enough like him. And you have the dragon."
"I still need the supplies Jack. You know to make the suit."
"Whatever dude. What are you doing this weekend?" He asked.
"I've gotta bathe Toothless on Saturday. My dad is getting annoyed with the smell." I said and Toothless grumbled and layed on my shoulder.
"I don't smell him. Only his breath."
"I can't do anything about his breath. I'll get scorched if I try to brush his teeth." I replied.
"Or licked."
"Hey you know that doesn't wash out." I defended.
"Yeah because he's licked my favorite sweater. And ruined it." He said sarcastically as the bell rang.
"Remember guys that assignment isn't due until Tuesday of next week!" Ms. Wilkenson said as everyone flooded out of the classroom and into the hallways.
"How much do you want to bet Flynn is already getting food." I said as we walked to the cafeteria.
"5 bucks says he isn't." Jack replied.
"Oh you're on." I stated and we shook hands. Once we opened the big red cafeteria doors, we looked at the food stand for Flynn. And not to my surprise, he's there. "Guess who just got 5 bucks richer." I whispered to Jack.
"Oh shut your face." He groaned and walked to Flynn. "What do you do run here?"
"Yeah I gotta have food." Flynn said. "So you guys doing any sports this year?"
"Nah I can't cause of my leg." I answered.
"And I'm just too lazy." Jack said after me.
"You guys are missing out. I'm gonna do football." Flynn stated in a cocky tone.
"Why would you want to? Let me guess, popularity?" Jack said.
"I think I know why." I said.
"Well I don't know what you're thinking Hiccup, but I'm doing it for the cheerleaders."
"Knew it." I said. "Jack where's your wallet I want my five bucks."
"I'm not just gonna give you my wallet dude!" Jack complained. Toothless stared at him as his sounds started glowing blue. "Okay. It's in the front pocket of my backpack." He said in a slight fearful tone.
"Settle down Toothless." I said and pat his head. He calmed down and relaxed on my shoulder. "Thanks Jack."
"Wait so why does Jack owe you five bucks?" Flynn asked.
"We made a bet on if you were already buying food when we walked up." Jack said.
"And I won." I added. Jack sighed and rolled his eyes.
"So now I'm the subject of your bets?" Flynn asked sarcastically.
"Basically." Jack replied blandly.
~time skip to Friday~
Astrid's POV
"Finally it's Friday!" Merida cheered. This is the first time she's cracked a smile all week.
"Wow Merida this is the first time I've seen you smile all week." Punzie said.
"How can I not be happy?" She said.
"True." Punzie began. "Okay sleep over at Astrid's house tonight."
"Wait what why my house? Uncle Finn is having his friends over." I began. "And plus I have something to do tomorrow." I added.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" Merida asked and gave me a suspicious look.
"I'm just helping my friend out. No big deal." I said, concealing the fact that I was going to Hiccup's. They'd freak out if they knew.
"Who is said friend?" Merida interrogated.
"He's just a friend." I said then froze, realizing what I said.
"ASTRID IS HANGING OUT WITH A BOY!" Punzie squealed. I quickly covered her mouth as people starred at her.
"He's just a friend now both of you calm down." I said and removed my hand from Punzie's mouth. I looked at both of them. "I'm gonna go to my locker, I'll see you guys in class." I said and walked off. I got to my locker and started turning the dial when I noticed a figure on my left out of the corner of my eye.
"Hey Astrid." Jack said. He'd always been a big brother to me, I was even the one that introduced Hiccup to him.
"Oh hey Jack. What's up?"
"Just wanted to see how Little Asty was doing in her first week of sophomore year." He teased. He's always called me little Asty, I guess it was just a nickname.
"Oh shut it frost butt I can handle myself." I sassed.
"I believe you." He said as we walked towards my first class. "Where you headed?"
"Math with Mr. Logan." I replied.
"Oh you're headed to the 500 building, I'm going to the 300 building. I'll catch up with you later!" He said and ran off in the opposite direction. I walked into my class and saw Punzie already there with a seat reserved for me.
"Who were you walking with?" She asked once I was in my seat.
"Oh that's Jack, he's like a brother that I never had." I explained.
"Oh cool. So on Sunday are we shopping or no?"
"Do you need something? I just went shopping like last weekend."
"Oh no I don't need anything but we always hang out on the weekends but you're busy Saturday." She stated.
"We could go shopping I guess. Maybe I'll find a cute phone case or something mine is totally beat up." I said and pulled out my phone and looked at my case. It was a really scratched and scraped black case with a little kitty sitting in a field. I got it when I first got my phone but I never thought about getting another case.
"Why don't you just get a new phone?"
"Why would I replace my entire phone because the case is broken? Punzie you've gone crazy." I said as the bell rang and the teacher walked in.
"Good morning everyone. I hope you had a good night last night. It's finally Friday I bet everyone is excited about that." Mr. Logan started. "As you know there is never weekend homework in my class but starting next week every Friday will be a quiz day, and after we finish a chapter, that following Friday is the chapter test." He explained. Everyone groaned.
"That's not that bad." Punzie whispered.
"Not at all." I responded.
"So since we haven't really done any work today can just be a relaxation period, but please, keep it at a low volume level." Mr. Logan said and everyone turned and started talking.
"So why are you going to a boys house tomorrow?" Punzie asked skeptically.
"He just needs help with some cleaning because his dad is getting on his case I guess." I explained as my phone vibrated. Punzie raised an eyebrow. "You know the rule, no peaking at my phone when I get a text message." She sighed and turned away. I looked at the screen and the text was from Hiccup.
H~ hey can you still help me with Toothless tomorrow?
A~ of course! What time?
H~ any time that works for you! I'll be home all day
A~ ok! I'll be there around 12
H~ ok thank you
A~no problem
I locked my phone and put it back in my pocket.
"Are you done?" Punzie complained.
"Yes I'm done texting you can turn around." I answered and she and she turned around.
"I don't understand your stupid rule about your phone."
"It's my conversations I like to keep them between me and the other person."
