Chapter 6
Wyatt was standing outside the den, looking over the ocean as he leaned against the railing made out of tree branches, vines, and rope weaved by hand by the wolves' ancestors. The waxing gibbous moon was out, causing the surface to sparkle as if millions of tiny diamonds had been scattered across the top of the water. The open sea was calm, but the faint sound of the waves splashing against each other could be heard. Soft gusts of wind carried the smell of the salty water to Wyatt's sensitive wolf nose.
The werewolf boy couldn't stop thinking about the white-haired girl who saved him and his green-haired zombie friend, Serina. She was so beautiful, elegant, and mysterious. And she smelled... Fishy, quite literally. She smelled like fishes, kelp, and the ocean.
"Hey, brother, what you doing up here?" Willa asked, walking up behind Wyatt.
He looked over his shoulder at his dark-haired sister before looking back over the ocean, "That girl, Serina. I just can't get her off my mind. There was something... Off about her."
"Like what?" Willa gave her brother a confused look as she walked to his side. Her dark, brown eyes searched her brother's face.
"She was beautiful!" Wyatt exclaimed, running his fingers through his brown and white bangs, "Too beautiful. Her voice was so... Angelic and flowy, it so perfect to be real, and she smelled like a fish too. Then when she left the cave, and I didn't even hear a sound."
Willa frowned at him, "Do you think she was one of those creatures Bree was talking about?"
Wyatt snapped his head towards Willa, "That's it! It has to be it! But, she didn't try to harm us." The wold boy sighed, "If anything, she saved us."
He slumped back down, resting his elbows on the railing, staring at the sparkling sea. Willa shrugged and looked at the water with her brother.
"Maybe Bree was wrong, but who knows. What are the chances of you see in her again?"
Wyatt groaned and rubbed his temples, "You have a point..."
"Heh," Willa smirked, "But, we've got school tomorrow. What does that zombie say? Ugh, something about sleeping and doing homework."
"Zed? Pft, whatever. He does have a point, I guess. I'll be down in a few." Wyatt rubbed his neck.
"Alright, see ya." Willa turned and walked back inside the den.
Wynter was waiting behind a rock for Willa. She jumped as Willa walked back inside. Wynter glanced behind Willa to look at Wyatt's back as he kept staring out at the ocean.
"Is he okay?" Wynter asked, rubbing the back of her hand nervously.
Willa shrugged, "I think so."
"He's been acting strange ever since he came back with Zed," Wynter fidgeted with her hands.
"I know... He might just be in shock or something else that's emotionally unstable or whatever." Willa shook her head and kept walking inside, "I'm going to bed."
"Okay..." Wynter glanced back at Wyatt before running after Willa, "W-Wait for me!"

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the breeze blew gently through the white locks of the Seabrook cheer captain. Addison rubbed her tired blue eyes as she dragged her white shies along the pavement. The teen was wearing a pale blue shirt with her pink captain jacket. Her pale blue denim jeans matched her shirt, and her moonstone necklace matched her white sneakers and white hair. Addison's blue eyes landed on the glass building of her school as she approached. Her eyes gradually floated down the entrance of the school, and she caught a glimpse of a group of dark-haired teenagers with white streaks here and there.
"Addie!" A certain male werewolf flashed his fangs as his brown eyes landed on the white-haired girl.
Addison smiled softly at her werewolf friend as he jogged up to her. Wyatt was wearing a dark purple hooded T-shirt with his dark brown furred vest. His moonstone hung proudly around his neck. He wore his usual black pants with three slashes on the right thigh, along with his black boots he laced poorly. Willa and Wynter soon followed suit, but at a slower pace.
"Hoooow's it goin?" Wyatt asked as he came to a stop in front of Addison.
The white-haired girl sighed as she looked at the werewolf boy's face, "Alright, I guess, I had a hard time sleeping last night."
"So did Wyatt!" Wynter chimed in as she approached, "He was howling in his sleep all night long! Everyone in the den could hear him!"
"Wynter..." The wolf boy growled under his breath.
Wynter's green eyes widened as she realized she said something she shouldn't have. She scowled at herself and lightly hit her head with her balled hands on either side of her head, "Bad wolf, bad!"
"Anyway," Willa rolled her eyes before turning to Addison, "I don't think we thanked you yesterday for showing us what... Surfing was."
Addison smiled at the curly-haired werewolf, "No problem, Willa, I'm just glad everyone's alright."
"Hey!"
The four of them turned their head to watch a green, curly-haired zombie girl come running up to them with a wide grin on her lips. Eliza had an unusual skip in her step as she approached the wolves and Addison.
"What's up, zam-bae?" Addison giggled at Eliza's cheery mood.
"It's the presidential candidate announcement today. I am so ready for this. I was rehearsing all night and had been going through every possible outcome since I don't have to worry about werewolf crashing my election this is going to be easy!"
Wyatt smirked as he raised his eyebrows, "Sure about that?"
Eliza shot the wolf boy a dirty look, "If you dare mess me up, I will go full zombie on you without a second thought."
Willa snickered while Wyatt through his hands up in defense. Addison giggled, watching her friends, happy they were getting along. Then, the white-haired girl glanced at Eliza, who was going into detail of what she would do if he even thought about ruining her chances of becoming president.
"Hey, Eliza."
"Wassup?" The green-haired zombie turned her gaze from Wyatt, who sighed in relief.
"Where's Zed?" Her light blue eyes glanced around but couldn't find her tall zombie boyfriend in sight.
"Oh, I went to his house this morning, but his dad said he wasn't there. He said he went to school early," Eliza shrugged, "I have no idea why, though, football hasn't started yet."
"Hm, alright," Addison frowned slightly, but quickly recovered and put a peppy smile on her pink lips, "Let's get going!"
The five friends made their way into the school building, the wolf pack following. Right as the glass door closed behind the last werewolf, the girls walked up to the glass school building.
"Why are we here?" Sarah snapped, glaring at her white-haired friend.
Serina turned around to face her golden-eyed friend with a straight face, "I can feel something inside here. It feels almost like a moonstone but on a lower level."
Serenity's dark green eyes sparkled with curiosity, "Do you think the land folk found one?"
"Seren, we talked about this. Land folks don't call themselves land folk. They call themselves humans." Serina corrected.
"Who cares what they are!" Sarah groaned, looking down at her feet, "These fins HURT! My skin HURTS! The air is hard to breathe, and I'm getting hungry!"
Serenity and Serina looked at each other and giggled. Sarah raised an eyebrow at them while crossing her arms.
"What?"
"You're such a complainer!" Serenity nudged the blue-haired girl's elbow, "You never cease to amaze me, princess."
Sarah rolled her golden orbs, "Whatever, can we just hurry this up?! Let's sing a song, make them obey us, get whatever in the oceans waves you need and LEAVE."
Serina's pale lips fell to a frown as she turned her attention to her blue-haired friend, "Sarah, using our powers has a cost."
"So? Who cares if they throw their souls at our feet?" Sarah uncrossed her arms as she walked past her two friends.
Serina's face filled with worry as she followed her friend towards the school. Serenity happily skipped to Sarah's side.
"Fewer humans around, the better." Sarah tosses some of her blue locks over her shoulder as she kept walking, her golden gaze fixed upon the school.
"Sarah, we'd be starting a war." Serina warned as she caught up to her friends, "What would you even do with their souls?"
Sarah's sharp, intelligent eyes locked onto the white-haired girl's face, "I wouldn't do anything, you're the one who devours them."
Serina's body tensed at the golden-eyed girl's words. Sarah was right; that's what she needed to survive. The white-haired girl shifted her gaze to the ground; her deep royal blue eyes swirled with sadness.
"I wish I didn't have too, but besides the point," She snapped her head up, "I only need one per year, I don't need a pod full."
"Serina, I'm not arguing with you," Sarah snapped, "I'm in charge here, and we're going to do as I say, got it?"
"Got it..."
"Got it!"
Sarah huff as she put her hands on the metal handles of the two doors. Serina gulped, knowing what she was going to have to do. Serenity, on the other hand, was overly excited. A smirk pulled at Sarah's lips as her grip tightened, her golden eyes shone with excitement and thrill.
"Let's do this."
