Almost There
I stared at him, confusion etched across my face. He chuckled lightly, breaking eye contact from me for a moment. "I suppose that is a rather confusing reply."
I glared and sat down near the portal, staring at the ground. "Thanks for trying, old man." I grumbled, muffling out the words through my sleeve.
"Aw, come on, I'm not that old. A few thousand years, old sure, but not that old." He replied, grinning widely. I sneered at him but quickly looked back down, stroking back the locks that fell on my face.
"...fuck it, you don't even know what I want..." I said, looking back at him. "Well, I can't reunite you with your fiance but I do know what you need to do to do that."
I stared at him for a moment before quickly giving a cold glare. I laid back carelessly on the portal, shifting my eyes away from him. "Yeah, sure. Like bonin' a dog, that'll get him back for sure."
"You're being real funny today, huh? Use that to avoid your problems, sure." He smiled halfheartedly, stroking at his beard. "But I'm not lying, young lady."
"Unlike you, I actually admit I'm an old fart. You don't have a right to say you aren't lying when you lied just after saying it." I quickly replied, staring off into the darkness of the room.
"You're awfully quick at making excuses, aren't you? You like to avoid my questions. And we all know you're still in your early 20's. Do you have to insult yourself just to get away with it?" He responded as quick as he could, not stopping once to catch his breath.
I gripped tightly onto my shirt, feeling the same gut-wrenching feeling the moment I respawned in the war. I hate it.
"...What do you need me to do?" I quietly stated, but he was still able to hear it. I could feel him smile behind me, a gentle one at that.
"Thanks for trusting me, sweetheart." He replied, softly muttering them out to me. "Now, don't mope around. We've got a few preparations to do."
I shakily stood and dusted myself off, continuing to stare at the damn floor. Pathetic, ain't it? 'Just look up already!' Is what you're probably thinking.
But I couldn't.
I don't want to be seen crying about something that was going to help me.

Saturday.
Thank the heavens for creating Saturdays.
"Ty, get me a driiiiiink." I whined out, laying still on the couch. "Get it yourself you fatass." He responded, pretty doing the exact same thing, except on another chair.
"How rude, you're getting fatter too." I glared, more of squinted really. He scoffed in return, continuing to stare up at the ceiling.
I slid off the couch, but still tumbled onto the floor. I groaned in absolute agony. "FluffyyYYYYYY GET ME UP BECAUSE TY DOESN'T WANT TOOOOOO."
I heard footsteps loudly get close, along with mutters of 'Yeah's. I felt hands grab my wrists and pull me up, really slowly too.
I finally got back up, just right when the doorbell rang. I quickly hurried over to the door, opening it halfway through.
Bloodie stood there, a sheepish grin curved across his thin lips. He held a small basket covered with a blanket, neatly placed on top of the basket.
"M...M-May we come in?" He asked, smiling a tad bit wider than before, pink dusting across his cheeks.
We? That's new. He never came around to us with anyone else besides Kia before.
"Hey, where do I put this Coke bottle?" A high, yet calming voice called out behind him. I tilted my voice behind him, seeing an orange haired girl, holding a bottle of Coke with two arms.
I raised a brow, but gave a polite smile. I nodded at Bloodie, moving out of the way to let them in. He quietly stepped in, glancing at the two by the couch.
Ty gave a wave and Jerome smiled. Took them a while to warm up to him, but they're good buddies now. Bloodie gave a lopsided smile, awkwardly.
The girl walked in as well, following him close. I shut the door and walked into the kitchen, gesturing Bloodie to place the basket on the counter.
He did as told, and the girl did the same. I took a glass and popped open the bottle, pouring the drink into the cup.
I walked back on the couch, gesturing them to follow. We all sat on the couch right by Ty, an awkward silence starting to rise.
"So, uh...who's the girl..?" I started off, breaking the silence. He shifted from his seat and looked down, flustered slightly.
I started sipping on my drink, raising a brow at the reaction. "I, uh..." He whispered. "She's...my girlfriend."
I quickly sPAT out my drink at Ty, coughing uncontrollably at the reply. "OH MY GOD ew ADaM" He screeched, quickly standing from his seat.
He stomped away to the bathroom, slamming the door as I started to wipe myself off. I fixed my glasses, still coughing occasionally.
"Your...your what?" I looked over to him, my face making all kinds of expressions. Disgust from my action, confusion at him, and concern at what would be Kia's reaction.
Smiling, most probably.
She likes lying to herself and others like that.
He was staring at me, face tinted a bright red. "M...M-My..." He stammered, shivering as if he was covered in snow.
I slowly put a finger up to his lips, staring back intently. And in that moment...
...My mind shit out nothing as I started screaming.
I was lucky most of the guys weren't home, having some fun outside in town. But I am pretty damn sure all of our neighbors heard my incoherent screeching.
"A-Are...you alright?" He quietly asked, giving out a hand to me. I stopped him before he did, coughing.
"Buddy...we need to talk."

I stared out the window, watching the orange sky starting to fade into a navy blue. Stars were starting to appear, and so were mobs.
I sighed, walking back to the living room. The place was covered in dust, old and uncared for.
I moved back to my house that I rebuilt in the forest, seeming more...lonely than usual. Since I don't have, uh...a housemate anymore, nor a nieghbor, life has been pretty depressing.
Good, but depressing.
I took a small brush and started dusting off everything, dust particles going everywhere.
I may have rebuilt it, but it sure has been a while since I actually entered it. I pretty much lived at the dying base, trying to liven everything up like before, but to no avail.
So, I just moved back to this depressing house I used to call home.
I looked over to the clock hung on the wall, the sun's figure disappearing as the moon started to appear. I eventually finished, shoving the brush in some close somwhere.
I sat down at the old couch, continuing to stare up at the clock. I already told Aya that I would be living back here, but I would tend to visit.
My mind went empty as I watched the moon very slowly center itself on the clock.
I wonder how she would react when I told her I'll never come back in 3 days.
