...

- 4 weeks later -

"Faster, faster, faster!"

Your voice rang through the apartment, the noises in the room starting to become louder and more apparent, "To the left!" Your breathing was labored, growing fiercer and excited by the second, "Oh my God! It's so hard!" Your body was shaking with elation, your voice raising in octaves while the delight you felt only increased, "You have to get closer. Right on the ass. Do it in one quick push, I'm sure it'll go in--" You paused, clearly focused and unaware of how off putting your words sounded, "Yes! Like that. Okay. Keep going." You snapped your fingers as if you had a eureka moment, "From the back. The back! Behind you!" You shouted again then started to laugh, "Okay, at this rate you're going to end up getting fucked too!" You snorted, your giggles shrilling through the room.

"Hehehehe." Went a slow, teasing laugh, "...That's what she said." Came the voice again followed by a large, boisterous chuckle, "What?! Don't act like you're surprised. You know that sounded wrong." He started to laugh more. Small tufts of laughter growing into a loud, comical chortle.

Soon enough, his laughter became too contagious to avoid and then two of you began snort-laughing together as you got carried away in conversation, "—And your diddly dumb boyfriend says I'm not funny." The roof of his tongue clicked against his mouth, "I'm the king of funny— I can make a mime laugh! You know, Jungkook loves my jokes and sometimes he— YAH." He halted mid-sentence, losing his train of thought as you were caught off guard, "Shit!"

"Focus, dude." You commanded him as he strayed away in thought, "Keep going. Don't stop." You instructed him, turning your attention away from the conversation to focus on the task at hand.

There was silence for a few moments after that. Nothing but the sounds of questionable and aggressive tapping noises echoing from within the walls. The adrenaline started to build once again while the both of you focused. Breaths held and eyes focused while you went into complete silence for a long moment. A pin drop could be heard with how quiet you were and it stayed that way for a few more seconds until your hand slammed down onto a tabled surface,

"Oh, fuck! I'm close!" You shouted, your leg starting to bounce up and down with excitement while you felt the buzz of elation bubble throughout your body again, "Right there!" You yelled, furniture creaking with the clamor. Your voice sounding almost as if you were shifting around in your seat as you spoke, "He's right behind you! Shit! We're gonna get caught."

The same voice joined in on the chaos not long after a while and you started to feel heated, "Ah... Ah..."  The voice echoed through the room. His voice becoming louder and higher in pitch as the moments went by. "Ah..." He sounded like he was about to sneeze. His voice reaching an interesting pitch compared to the way he normally sounded. There was then a huge gasp suddenly shrieking through the room. A loud shout filling the air then the sound of something being knocked over, the noise of an array of objects falling to the floor rattled through the room,

"Bahm move! NO! That's my sock on the floor! You can't eat that!" The voiced half-laughed, half-yelped as he wrestled with the sock in the dog's mouth, "AH! Forget it. Fine, eat the damn sock." He gave up with a loud sigh then turned away, "Shh... Okay, okay. Calm down." He spoke to himself. Letting out heaved, obnoxious breaths and then he started again, "FUCK!" He yelled, fist slamming into what sounded like a table followed by the sounds of accessories clattering to the floor once again, "AH... Ah!" He groaned out loud, "Just think happy thoughts... no.. no! Fuck! FUCK! Again!" The person boomed, the tone of the male's voice becoming alarmingly high pitched, "Holy fuck! Fuck you! Take that! Take--- That!! I'm about to—" He announced with a gasp before going completely still.

You both held your breaths, counting the seconds that went by. You didn't know how to swim but fuck, you could be an athletic swimmer from the way you were able to hold your breath right now. There was nothing but silence between the two of you. Pairs of wide eyes locked in concentration. Bodies frozen except for your fingers moving aggressively in sync. You were both extremely quiet. So quiet that if you listened closely, you could hear your own stomach growling with hunger. Dammit. Was it lunch or dinner time? You had no idea. You both had been going at it for hours now. You weren't even sure what time of the day it was anymore.

The two of you were one in that moment. Breathing matched. Brains identical. The focus between the two of you was insane. Bodies working together in aim for the same satisfaction. It was incredible how in tune the two of you were. Moving at the same time. Thinking the same thoughts. Knowing each other's next moves and helping each other all the way to the finish like no one else.

"Oh shit!" You suddenly jumped, cutting off the period of stillness that went by while you gasped, "NOT THERE!" You yelled out in a panic, hands dropping from in front of you and now fisting into your own hair while you threatened to pull the strands out, "Please, no. No, no, no." You wailed in terror, "제발, 제발 (please, please in a begging way)." You pleaded, trying to backpedal your steps to no avail, "Please!!" You cried out, the sound of aggressive tapping on a keyboard echoing throughout the room.

"No... No. Nononono. KIM SEOKJINNNNN, NO!" The male's voice screeched his own name out for no reason, "NOO!" He pleaded, "FUCK!" He wailed out, the sound of his bracelets shaking and chiming through the room as he forcefully threw punches into the air at an aggressive pace, "Fuck. I was so close." The voice dropped and was quieter now. Almost sounding as if he was on the verge of tears, "We were THIS close!" He had his hands over his face, running his palms down his cheeks dramatically while his ears and neck burned a deep red, "Why did I have to get all confident? I knew I'd fuck it up." He regretfully flopped his head back against the headrest of the computer chair, slowly turning around to look at your computer that was across from his, "Please tell me this didn't just happen."

Yeah, you and Seokjin just lost in Elden Ring.

After spending all night and a day to defeat the hardest boss you had ever come across in the game together, you both lost once again. What a stupidly horrible fucking addicting game. You had never been this enraged by a game in your life and now you were finally feeling the after effects of playing on a computer for what seemed like the last 24 hours.

Your eyes burned. Stomach grumbled in dire need of food. Your legs were stiff. Fingers were sore from pounding the keyboard over and over again. And you were pretty damn sure you were dehydrated. The two of you played for hours on end. Only taking breaks in between to feed Bahm and take him out for washroom breaks, "I'm about to break my computer." You announced, shoving the keyboard away from you and yanking the headphones you were wearing off your head and tossing them onto the desk, "This is impossible."

"We almost had her. We were so close to finishing her off." Seokjin whined, laying back further into Jungkook's chair that he had been sitting in. Sliding down it dramatically while he pouted, "Bahmmie.. We lost." His frown only drooped more when the dog wagged his tail at him.

God, how many weeks has it been since Seokjin had been staying with you? You couldn't even remember because he made the days go by so quick. You weren't expecting him to show up at your door the day after Jungkook left. Which was only a few weeks ago might I add. Time sure did fly by after that though. He kept you on your toes to say the least. Dragging you out to do things with him almost every day. Keeping you busy so that your mind wouldn't linger. Forcing you to participate in activities with him because he feared you would slip back into the sadness you dealt with the first few days Jungkook left. He wasn't about to let that happen again. Not when you were with him.

Seokjin wasn't much of an extraverted person in the slightest. But Seokjin made a promise to Jungkook to keep you entertained and taken care of. And so, he took you everywhere he liked to go. PC cafes. All you can eat buffets. Forcing you and Namjoon to bike around the city with him in search of maple story stickers.

He sure as hell knew how to keep your mind off Jungkook. Forcing his way into your apartment and making himself at home. A little too at home if you had to say with the way he would leave his shorts around the place. Or the way he would rip his socks off his feet then ball them up and throw them down the hallway as soon as you both got home. Oh, and let's not forget about him constantly peeing with the door wide open because he believed locking the door was a waste of time too.

Yeah... privacy wasn't much a thing in the Bangtan household and Seokjin made sure you were aware of that when he came to your home as well.

It was fair to say that it was a rough couple of days at the start with having to get used to your new temporary roommate but you were getting there.

I mean, you weren't going to complain. You didn't need a roommate and at the start you were a bit pissed that Jungkook sent his hyung over here to babysit you but at the same time, Seokjin wasn't a babysitter. He was more like your bestie back home that used to show up to your place for random sleepovers. Sure, he was invading your space and making your home his own just like your friend did. But in this case, he wasn't annoying and unsanitary the way your friend was.

Seokjin was comfortable around you. Finding himself easily relaxed with you faster and easier than he ever did with anyone else. Perhaps it was because of how cute you were. Or how funny you were too. Or maybe it was because you both bonded like best friends. Either way he was excited to spend some quality time with you. Packing his bags faster than lightning when he got the call from Jungkook and bolting out of the dorm while leaving a confused, frowny and lonely Namjoonie behind.

"You're a big boy. You can feed yourself." Seokjin could remember his conversation with Namjoon before he left, "Ask Yoongi to make you a sandwich. Love you. Bye." He remembered pinching his leader quickly on the cheek and disappearing out the door those weeks ago.

Now here he was, Sharing your apartment with you. Cooking and eating with you. Bonding over video and board games together in your computer room while having drinks together. And even sharing a bed with you on the nights you felt too lonely to sleep alone. Allowing for you to hold his hand for comfort while he blurted embarrassing stories about the guys to you in effort to help you fall asleep laughing rather than in tears and in pain over missing Jungkook.

But it wasn't this easy. You weren't this happy at first.

Seokjin remembered the day he showed up to your apartment after Jungkook left. It was early in the morning but you hadn't had a wink of sleep yet. Stating that Bahm was having a hard time being without Jungkook. Was it the pup or was it you too?  With your hair disheveled and eyes so puffy from crying, he had never seen you like this before. You looked rough. When he asked you if you had breakfast yet when he unpacked the coffees and pastries he had bought, you didn't answer. And when he asked if you had eaten anything at all since Jungkook left, you shrugged. Mumbling that you couldn't remember.

Seokjin hated to hear that as he strived to make sure the people he loved and cared for were well fed. Your response made him instantly wanted to send a flying punch to your boyfriend wherever he was but instead, he shook his head and got to work. Preparing delicious and warm home cooked meals three times a day.

He ended up having to eat them all on his own as you hardly ate. Reasoning that you were feeling queasy and nauseated every time you swallowed something. Seokjin thought it was weird. You had always bonded over food with him. But you shrugged it off and simply said food didn't taste as good right now.

You would joke and tell Seokjin how dramatic he must have thought you were being but you truly couldn't explain why you felt this way, "I might die if he actually leaves me one day." You whispered to Seokjin, "I don't know why I feel so empty." You confessed one day while the two of you were sitting on the couch, a movie playing in the background and your legs curled under a blanket while Bahm sat at Seokjin's feet, "I think I'm just being a drama queen."

"There's no one that's a bigger drama queen than Jungkook. Running away because President Bang gave you NDAs to sign? Not me. I would have told him and the company exactly where to shove those papers of theirs." Seokjin interrupted, your palm within his own as he inspected your nails that were in dire need of a manicure, "It's not your fault. Jungkook's an idiot." He gave your hand a squeeze and then patted it, "Let's go get your nails done. They look like talons." He joked but you didn't laugh, choosing to go lay down in bed for the rest of the day instead.

Then the crying started.

The first few nights were the worst. Seokjin would hear you sobbing in the bedroom. Your face buried deep into your pillow while you cried. A hand clutching your phone to your chest. Unanswered messages from Jungkook on the screen that were left on read because he had become too busy to answer you.

It was hard on you. Being away from Jungkook this way wasn't easy. Seokjin knew that. Seokjin could see that. Not only did you miss Jungkook with every fiber of your being. You also couldn't understand why he left the way he did. It felt as though there were so many things left unsaid and your boyfriend disappeared in haste.

That's where Seokjin came in. He was patient with you. And he helped you to understand the way Jungkook's mind worked. Helped you to see that no, he didn't want to leave. He had to leave. Not because he wanted to but because he felt so suffocated by their company that he wanted to disappear. Jungkook being this way had nothing to do with you. He loved you. He loved you so much and that's why he left because he started to see the horror he was dragging you into.

You didn't want to hear that though. Not from Seokjin.

Nothing he said mattered because the person that should have been here to tell you all of that wasn't here and that is what pained you the most. Pained you to where you would cover your mouth to strangle your cries so that Seokjin wouldn't hear from the couch in the living room. It was of no use anyways and one night, it became too much to bear anymore. He couldn't hear you cry yourself to sleep yet again and so, Seokjin wordlessly unlocked the door to your bedroom and slid into your bed with you. Silently pulling you into his arms and letting you cry into his chest.

He knew you weren't just crying over Jungkook. You had your own worries to deal with. You were homesick. Stressed over your internship. It was all piling up and Mr. Bang showing up at your door those nights ago was the last straw for you. So, you cried. You cried for hours. Cried until you couldn't anymore. Cried until all of the pent-up frustration and stress finally left your body and that's when Seokjin started to show you stupid videos he had in his phone of the guys through the years to make you happy again because he wasn't good with words.

Seokjin wasn't always a big goof ball. He could read the room and as the eldest member, he stepped in to take charge often when needed. These were one of those moments he had to put his best judgment forth and although you weren't a brat he needed to tame, you were his friend and he cared about you. He had always been good with comforting his loved ones. Always been able to be the light in the room when tensions were high.

He didn't think he had a way with words like Namjoon nor did he believe he had the ability to make everyone's stomach hurt with laughter the way Hoseok could. He didn't think he had warm hugs like Jimin. Nor was he able to make the Tata face and make everyone happy again the way Taehyung could. He didn't have a big bunny smile that could light up a whole room like Jungkook did and he sure as hell didn't give insightful, old-man life advice the way Yoongi could either.

Seokjin had his own way of making people happy. Not with words but more with his actions. Showing up to your apartment when you were in need. Hunting through his phone's archive to find dorky videos of fetus Jungkook. He showed you how much he cared and it worked!

That was the final night you cried and the last night Seokjin slept on the couch too because you asked him to sleep next to you instead. Stating that the bed felt as if you were sinking into a hole without Jungkook in it. He knew what you meant. He too slept different when he wasn't next to his Joon. He knew how it felt for things to feel off without the person you loved at your side. He knew what it was like to get into your head when you didn't want to.

And when he would turn over to check on you only to find you laying on your back with your eyes wide opened and glued to the ceiling, Seokjin would do the same. Flopping onto his back with a sigh and muttering something about not being able to sleep too in which you would nod in agreement. The two of you would lay there quietly most nights. Staring blankly at the walls above your heads until you began to share your secrets with him one night. You opened up to him. Whispered your concerns to him. Your fears for the future. Your worries about Sora.

You both had become closer than ever before and Seokjin was pleased. Feeling honored to have been asked by his precious little Kookie to come stay with you too. You didn't mind anymore. In fact, you found it kind of endearing to know that your boyfriend wanted someone to stay with you while he was gone.

You weren't completely fine with it because you would prefer your own boyfriend, of course. You were still thankful. Thankful for Seokjin to sacrifice his time to come stay with you. Thankful to have friends that cared about you the way that they did. Thankful to have a family. Thankful for Bangtan.

And that's when things got better. You stopped feeling sad when Jungkook would leave you on read. You stopped expecting him to call you at all hours of the day and instead, got excited for the next time when you would see him again. You felt better now. You ate better. Slept better. Finally got your nails done and even changed your hairstyle. You started to focus better with school and started to look towards the bright side to the situation.

Jungkook started to come around too and you realized that he needed your support more than anything. Sure, you were still feeling hurt over him leaving so suddenly. But you didn't show it to him. You put a smile on your face for his sake. It wasn't the right thing to do and you knew the two of you left things unsaid but there was never a good time to bring it up with Jungkook. When you were asleep, he was working. And when he was sleeping, you were busy with school or getting hauled away into the city with Seokjin.

You settled on the fact that you would both see each other again soon and that's when you would be able to sit down together to talk. You looked forward to that day. The moment that wasn't too far away. The day that was just a few days away actually. But God, you missed him. You could still smell his fresh, floral cologne on your stuffed animals. The one's he'd playfully wrestle with when he would roll around on the bed with them in his arms.

You could feel him when you wore his clothes to sleep, nuzzling into his soft t-shirts and using them to comfort you to sleep. You'd find his toe socks while doing the laundry and it made you wondered if he packed enough socks and underwear to last him a month too. Damn, it had been a rough month and you couldn't wait to rocket launch yourself into Jungkook's arms when you saw him again.

"Mmm.... My back." Seokjin let out a moan as he stretched, his spine making a satisfying cracking sound from the way he stretched himself out, "I feel broken." He laughed, leaning back in his seat with his arms above his head, stretching his limbs out and tilting himself in the chair backwards while he groaned out loud at the relief he felt when his bones cracked a bit from his stretching, "I give up. We're never gonna beat that boss." He complained with a stretch of his neck then he suddenly straightened up and spun around dramatically on his chair to face you, "Oh! I almost forgot., What are you wearing tonight?" His eyelashes batted prettily at you, a pair of full, plush lips pursing as he spoke, "Wanna match with me?"

Ugh. Tonight. Forgot about that.

"I don't know, Jinnie..." You started to shake your head, "I'm not really in the mood to get dressed up and party tonight." Your eyes glanced around your desk, gaze landing on a framed picture of you and Jungkook the two of you had taken at Namsan Tower together on your anniversary. You admired the selfie the two of you had taken and started to smile a bit more before letting out an exhausted sigh, "It doesn't feel fun going without my boyfriend." You grumbled under your breath, moving your attention away from the picture on the desktop and turning back to look at Seokjin instead, your eyes landing on his and letting him envelope you into his warm gaze.

You couldn't understand for the life of you how someone could look so fresh and put together when he hadn't washed his hair in days. How could someone who hadn't had a wink of sleep most of the night not even have a single dark circle under their eye?

Seokjin's eyes were so brown and sparkly when you looked into them. Glittering from the sunlight making its way into the computer room and bouncing off his irises to make his eyes look doll-like. The sun made his creamy skin glow and the slightly wavy, chestnut colored hair falling over his eyes shone under the light, making the shaggy locks look shiny and healthy. And let's not forget a pair of insanely pink lips that made him look like he was wearing lipstick all the time. They literally glistened with the sun.

Even in just a plain pair of BT21 Koya pajamas that he must have stolen from Namjoon, he looked gorgeous. Seokjin was just naturally and effortlessly beautiful. You found yourself admiring his beauty each time you looked at him and you truly understood why everyone called him worldwide handsome. The nickname was fitting and you felt like the luckiest bitch in the world to be able to see him like this but that didn't excuse the fact that you were not interested in going out tonight.

You simply weren't feeling it and you truly didn't want to bring the guys down by being a mood killer, "You guys should go without me. Have some fun and make sure you take a shot for me." You waved your friend off, "I'd just kill the vibe." Your voice fell as you frowned, eyes glancing down at your fingernails to pick at your manicure.

You weren't lying about not being in the mood to party. Even if this party happened to be a special get together thrown for BTS to celebrate the kick off for their tour starting in a few days. It just didn't feel right going without Jungkook. The two of you were supposed to go as a couple. The two of you were supposed to match together too! Going without him felt weird. You didn't want to.

Before Jungkook, a night out after a long week of school is just what you would need. But now that you were dating the man of your dreams, you never wanted to exist without him anymore. You felt silly to be this way and felt embarrassed to even say it out loud but it is what it was.

"Well, if you're not going then I'm not either." Seokjin proclaimed with a huff, "I'm not leaving you alone." The brunette's head bobbed up and down while he spoke, making his hair bounce along with his head, "We can just stay in tonight. Order a pizza and maybe try to demolish this game." He already began listing plans for your evening together and you sighed quietly, sinking backwards into your chair, "I'll tell the guys to party hard without us." The real-life angel only smiled brighter at you while he leaned off his chair to grab his phone,

"Aww... Look at what Hoseok and Jimin got..." He beamed when he plucked his phone off the desk and unlocked it, eyes immediately brightening up at the messages he had opened on his screen, "They got this liquor bottle from a staff to open at the party. It's purple too! How pretty." Seokjin chirped, turning his phone and shoving it into your face to show you a picture the two group mates had sent to the group chat of the expensive bottle of alcohol, "I'll just tell them to enjoy it without us." He began tapping at his phone's keyboard and you groaned,

"Wait---" You thought long and hard for a moment.

Did you really want to let Seokjin sacrifice his evening to stay inside with you yet again? It wasn't fair to him. You knew he had been itching to see Namjoon and the other guys. You wanted for him to go out and enjoy himself before you all left to go back to your city next week.

You didn't mind spending another night with Seokjin either though. In fact, you wanted to. You needed him at your side to sleep. He was like your lullaby. But at the same time, you didn't want to keep him back and you sure as hell knew he wasn't going to leave you be for a few hours by yourself either. He was strict that way. If Jungkook asked him to do something, he was going to do it. Not because he was afraid of his dongsaeng but more because that was his fucking baby. He'd do anything for Jungkook and it was nothing for him to stick with you. That didn't make you feel any better though. Knowing your friend was about to miss out on a party basically being thrown for them didn't sit right with you.

Ugh. Fine.

Maybe you could muster up the energy to go for an hour. Only an hour to show your face because you knew Jimin had been bugging your phone all day to find out if you were coming out tonight too. You knew it would make your other friend sad if you didn't at least come say 'hey.'

There was just one thing stopping you though. One person to be exact, "Don't text them yet." You muttered, "Um before I say anything else... Is Yoongi coming?" You questioned the older, "Have you even heard from him?" You asked Seokjin, tilting your head in genuine curiosity.

You weren't sure if Yoongi was going to be there tonight as you hadn't spoken to him in a month. Not since that day at his dorm when you kicked his girlfriend's ass. And not since the day Jungkook charged at him and almost lost his shit on him either. You tried texting him. Sending him messages asking him to answer your call. But it was no use. He didn't return your calls nor your texts. You weren't even sure if he opened your messages either too.

Did he change his number? Did he block you? You just wanted to say sorry for everything but he couldn't even give you the chance. You truly didn't want to turn up to the party only for him to be there. It would be too awkward for you to even approach him. And you were sure he hated you for what you did to his ugly girlfriend. Were they even dating anymore? Did Mr. Bang visit him too? You had so many questions but no answers.

"I saw him yesterday but he's been the same. Quiet. In his own zone." Seokjin shrugged, "He'll come around. I doubt he's even going to be there tonight. He's probably too busy hiding from Sora." He blurted and you gave him a look, your eyebrow quirking in question, "I forgot to tell you. Shit!" Seokjin's fingers snapped, "Yeah, apparently he hasn't spoken to that psycho girlfriend of his since the day you beat her up." Your friend began to laugh, snatching one of Jungkook's Marvel Studios action figures off the display near his desk and beginning to fiddle with the moveable limb on the character's arm,

"That's what Jimin told me at least but you know Jimin... no one knows where he gets his information from. Maybe he visited Yoongi or something. That's what I'm guessing. I'm actually too scared to ask Yoongi myself. I don't think it's my place to stick my nose where it doesn't belong," Seokjin laughed and continued to play with the action figure, pulling a bit hard on the limb to see if it would pop off, "Does he let Bahm chew on these toys? I wonder...." He began to trail off, eyes searching for the puppy who had since disappeared amongst the chaos of your game playing to find a quieter spot to nap while the two of you lost your minds over the video game,

"Please don't tell me you're thinking about feeding Bahm one of Jungkook's action figures. He'll actually strangle you if he finds out." You watched Seokjin as he wrestled with the figurine in his hands, "Don't let the intrusive thoughts in." Letting out a laugh, you leaned over and tugged the toy out of Seokjin's grasp, taking it into your own hands to inspect the intricately painted figurine that your boyfriend had spent a couple good bucks on to add to his collection, "How long are we going to stay out for?" You questioned him, placing the action figure down onto your desk and out of Seokjin's (or Bahm's) reach, "You sure Yoongi won't come?" You continued with the questions, starting to feel a bit more comfortable to go out.

"I'm one thousand percent sure he's not coming..." Seokjin eyed you as you placed the action figure down onto a safer surface away from his wandering finger tips, suddenly perking up at the hint that you were starting to change your mind about staying at home, "Trust me, it's going to be a lot of fun. We won't stay out for long. One hour. Maybe two. But that's it. I promise." Seokjin nodded eagerly, practically bouncing off his seat, "Is that a yes or no?" He smiled prettily at you, almost begging you with his eyes for you to agree with him.

How could you say no to someone this beautiful? There was no way.

"One hour and then I'm taking a taxi home if you don't want to leave." You huffed, "And what do you wanna match with? I don't think I want to share my dresses with you. You'll outshine me." A small, teasing smile formed along your lips and Seokjin's head twisted around to look at you in shock.

Yes. You finally gave in to him.

Watching the way Seokjin flopped backwards in the chair with relief made you smile. His hands clasping together happily as he cheered. Eyes turning into pretty half-moon shapes as they crinkled when they closed. Lips puckering out dramatically into an adorable kissy face while he pulled himself out of his chair and grabbed you by the shoulders, pulling you close to him and leaning down to plant a big, wet, happy smooch against your forehead,

"I love you. Know you that?" Seokjin beamed while you rubbed his kiss off your forehead with a laugh, "I knew you'd say yes. You never say no to me." He stood in front of you with his hands cupped under his chin, doing a flower pose at you, "I have this really pretty pink shirt I wanted to wear. So, you wear a pink dress." He winked at you, jumping at the sudden blare of a doorbell ringing throughout the apartment,

"Who's there?" He asked, turning slightly and quirking a brow, "Who's that?" Seokjin questioned and looked at you, "Maybe it's Joonie or something. I told him to come by and bring my outfit for the party." He nodded and stood up out of his chair then skipped his way out of the bedroom once the doorbell began to ring once more, "Hold your balls! I'm coming!" He shouted and you hopped out of the chair you had been sitting in, following after him down the hallway and towards the front door, "Who are you?!" He said followed by his signature window-washing laugh before he peeked at the security footage of the person at the door,

"OH FUCK! That's not Joon." Seokjin yelled then immediately covered his mouth to refrain himself from being too loud, eyes full of bewilderment as he turned around to look at you, his voice coming out in a hushed whisper,

"Jungkook's mom is here."

You could feel the color in your face drain and you stopped dead in your tracks. Your stomach falling to your feet at what Seokjin said. Your brows furrowed in confusion and you cocked your head to the side, "I beg your pardon?" You gasped, running up to the screen next to your door and peeking around Seokjin to get a look at the security camera.

You gasped when you saw Jungkook's mom standing outside the doors of your building, waiting for you to grant her access to head up to your apartment. You hadn't seen her since the first time you met her and although you loved the woman, you sure as hell wasn't expecting her to just show up to your home. Today of all days too!

"What! What the fuck is she doing here?" Your voice dropped to a whisper and you backed away from the door, "Look at this place, dude! It's a mess. She's gonna freak." Your eyes were wide and your hands were covering your cheeks as you looked around at the space around you.

There was SHIT everywhere. Shoes. Bahm's toys. Coffee cups. Random ass hair clips. Seokjin's socks. Miscellaneous items strewn left and right. You couldn't name everything in sight and you were about to have a meltdown at the state of the apartment. Why was Mrs. Jeon here? Who summoned her?

"How does she know you're home?" Seokjin pressed the 'open' function on the security system anyways, ignoring your protests for him to do the opposite, "We just have to clean up in 5 seconds. No biggie." He chirped with pure determination, "You take the hallways and I'll work on the kitchen." Seokjin flashed you an excited smile, unlocking the doors for Mrs. Jeon while you spun around to look at him in horror as he began to kick things out of way from the walkway of the door, running into the kitchen and shoving random items that were on top of the counter into drawers, "Does she always just show up unannounced?" He rolled his eyes in annoyance while you neatly aligned random pairs of shoes that were scattered near the door into place.

You hardly heard Seokjin when he spoke. Too busy trying to grab Bahm's toys off the floor, "She doesn't! She's never visited here." You huffed and stood up straight, tossing the toys into their respected places, "I'm sure she's not going to come inside." You grumbled and found Seokjin in the kitchen where he had successfully disguised the mess of the apartment to make it look a bit more presentable, "I'm just going to greet her at the door. Is it rude if I don't let her come in?" You asked him and he shrugged in response, "I swear if Jungkook told her to come here, I'm going to lose it on him."

"My mom wouldn't care but Jungkook's mom is going to think something's up if you don't let her in." He nodded quickly and disappeared to the bedroom while you took a peek at the peep hole of the door then at the security system's screen, "Maybe she brought you food." Seokjin's head poked out from within the bedroom to look at you and that's when you heard the door knocking, "She must have run down those halls to get here so fast." He called from the bedroom and you sighed out loud, fingers threading through your hair to brush the locks back neatly,

"God, I hate this." You grumbled to yourself, adjusting the waistband of the sweatpants you had been wearing and fixing them so that they were not lowriding the way you had them before, "Seokjin, I swear if you're hiding in there---!" You shouted for your friend who hadn't come out the bedroom while you quickly made your way to the door, inhaling a deep breath before unlocking it quickly and forcing a smile onto your face, "안녕 엄마. (Hi, mom)." You chimed as you swung the door open for Mrs. Jeon, lowering your head and bowing quickly out in respect,

"What a sweet surprise!" You could feel your face struggling to stretch into a smile, feeling as though you were forcing yourself to greet Jungkook's mother, "How are you?" You laughed, keeping the door opened a bit but not wide enough for her to come inside, looking behind your shoulder desperately for Seokjin but he was out of plain sight.

He truly left you here to face your boyfriend's mother on your own, huh?

Jungkook's mom greeted you with a cheery smile, her eyes curving prettily into happy crescents, "I hope I'm not intruding. I was in town and decided to come say hello." She nodded, trying to peek into the apartment behind you, "Jungkook told me a few weeks ago that he was away for work..." She hummed, "Are you alone right now?" Mrs. Jeon questioned you, "Is this a bad time? I can come back." She said although made no effort to leave, her eyes curiously reading your face in expectance of what you would say next.

She must have thought you were cheating on her son. Is that why she turned up here out of the blue? Like she mentioned, Jungkook told her weeks ago he was out of the country. Why did she choose today of all days to come pay you a visit? Did Jungkook tell her anything? Oh God, was he dumping you? Did she come here to be the bearer of bad news?

The thoughts scattered through your brain as you began to overthink and soon enough, you could feel the cold sweat starting to form along your back and then your stomach started to churn within itself. The sensation made you think you were about to hurl at any given second for no reason.

You stared at Jungkook's mom in shock and searched your brain for something to say but before you could speak, Seokjin suddenly came down the hall. A bright, welcoming smile on his face despite the fact that he was dressed in a new set of clothes. He had changed out of his pajamas and into a plain white t-shirt with a pair of black pants, carrying a wooly cardigan over his arm as he secured a baseball cap over his head while he approached you at the door.

If you thought for a second that Seokjin was going to stay here while Jungkook's mom came to visit, you were wrong as heck. As much as he loved his beloved group mates and their families, he was much too awkward to stick around and listen to your conversations with your future mother-in-law.

Even if his nosy ass wanted to. Besides, you needed some alone time with her. Having only met her one time, Seokjin was sure you and Jungkook's mother were not well acquainted. Now would be the perfect time to get to know each other. After all, you were going to be married to her son one day. You needed to know who your second mother was going to be like.

Was it off to a good start with her randomly showing up to your apartment? You be the judge.

"Hello, Mrs. Jeon! How's it going? It's so nice to see you!" The ever-respectful Seokjin greeted your boyfriend's mom with a gracious smile, joining the both of you at the door, "I was just heading out." He nodded and your head snapped towards him, your brow quirking in question, "I'll see you in the evening. Driver will pick you up at nine." Jin flashed you a quirky grin and rushed out the door, giving Jungkook's mom one last smile and a polite bow of his head before he disappeared down the hallway.

Did he just fucking ditch me? What the heck!

You stared at Seokjin with wide eyes, "U-Uh..." You wanted to reach to grab his arm to stop him from leaving but it was of no use. You knew he wouldn't stay and you knew why he wouldn't either. He didn't feel as if it was his place to be in the apartment when she came to visit. He knew his boundaries but fuck, you wished he overstepped them this one time. "Okay, Jinnie." You almost pouted at him. Your lips dropping into a small frown while you looked at him. Part of you hoped that he would catch your puppy eyes and give in to you.

Unfortunately, the puppy eyed look didn't work and you had to stop yourself from dragging Seokjin back into the apartment with you. Knowing you couldn't hide behind him in front of your soon-to-be, one-day-in-the-future mother-in-law, "Right... See you." You gave him a sour look and glared daggers at your friend as he left and you almost let out the loudest grunt of frustration.

You collected yourself as Seokjin left, making sure not to let out any strange noises in front of Jungkook's mom. Even if you wanted nothing more than to throw your head back and groan at the ceiling for this minor inconvenience. There's no way you could behave like your normal weird self. Not with Jungkook's mother's eyes on you. You knew what she was doing when she had her eyes on you. She was surveying you. Reading your reactions and watching your every move to see if you would protest to having to be alone with her.

Now, it's not like you didn't want to be alone with her. You loved Mrs. Jeon. But that's the thing. She was Mrs. Jeon. Your boyfriend's beloved mother. The woman who literally birthed the love of your life. You had the upmost respect for her and felt like you had to kiss her feet every time you saw her. But, now wasn't the time you wanted to be around her. Your place wasn't the place to have her.

You were still standing there in your most bummy ass lounge clothes for crying out loud. The circles under your eyes were darker than ever before from pulling an all nighter. Still had yesterday's hair tied up in a lopsided ponytail. Strands falling messily around your face and let's not forget the fact that you might have skipped out on wearing a bra today too. In other words, you were comfortable. And as comfy as you were, it sucked that Mrs. Jeon showed up out of nowhere without warning you. Now you felt as though you had no choice but to let her come in. Especially now that Seokjin had disappeared,

"I.. I'm sorry, 어머님 (mother) ... do you want to come in?" You asked your future mother-in-law, "It's a bit messy though." You hesitated.

Girl, it looks like a bunch of slobs live here. You sure about this?  The voice in your head echoed but you ignored it, pulling the door open wider, "I hope the drive here wasn't too bad." You tried to make small talk as you allowed the door to open a bit wider, "How is 아버님 (father)?" You started to smile now when she entered your home,

Mrs. Jeon crinkled a smile at you as she happily walked into the apartment when you let her in, "Oh, sweetheart, the drive was horrendous but I really wanted to bring you these fresh strawberries. Dad picked them out. He had to work today but he prepared some of the biggest, sweetest ones for you." She gracefully slid her shoes off her feet by the door after setting a large shopping tote filled to the brim with items onto the floor,

"The weather looks as though it's setting up to rain. I can feel it in my wrists." She chuckled, seemingly not noticing the mess kicked around the hallway of the apartment.

Dusting off her sweater after she hung up her coat, she fluffed her hair and turned around, leaning down to collect her bag, "I brought you some—" Mrs. Jeon announced as she picked up the shopping bag and finally faced the interior of your apartment, eyes dropping to the disarray of the space in shock while she fell silent, "---Groceries." She finished her sentence, a gaze of alarm plastered on her face as she walked further into the space, "....Y/N?"

You had your forehead resting against the door when you locked it, your eyes wincing closed when you heard her very distinct and audible gasp at the state of your apartment, "Fudge." You grumbled under your breath, slowly turning around to face your boyfriend's mother, your eyes shifting everywhere except to look at her, "Y..Yes, mom?"

"My love..." Her foot nudged a random sock away into a corner, "...I know Jungkookie has been gone for a few weeks but... this isn't like you." She explained with wide eyes, her gaze following after one of Bahm's dog toys that had rolled out into the hallway, "Is this how you've been living for the last few weeks?" She tip toed around the random household belongings laying askew across the floor.

Your place had been spotless up until this point. You and Seokjin made sure to keep the apartment neat and tidy especially since Seokjin wasn't that much of a slob. You wouldn't say he was dirty.

Did he leave his belongings all over the place and allow them to turn to a collection of socks on the ground and a display of half-finished water bottles perched along the countertops aligned neatly next to each other standing in order by the amount of water that had already been finished so that he knew which one to continue drinking? Yes. But Seokjin's reasoning was that he knew exactly where he was leaving his belongings so that he could find them later on. He was strategic that way. Calculative. But he was clutterer. And Mrs. Jeon was correct. This wasn't like you.

You were silent for a long moment as Mrs. Jeon made her way around the apartment to the kitchen, her eyes scanning the room as if she had laser beams for vision. You watched her make her way to your dining space. She had her bags in hand. Heavy and weighing on her but she was strong. And stubborn too. Refusing to let you help her. Tch. Like mother like son, huh? Jungkook was just the same. Relentless and grounded. You respected her for that. Respected her for raising a man that could be strong all on his own.

Although she was weaving her way into the kitchen, she had her eyes glued to the surroundings of your apartment. Checking out every inch of the place that her eyes could allow her to see,

"It... It's been a busy few weeks." You answered with a grumble and followed after her, "Um... I should clean up." You spoke more to yourself than her and Mrs. Jeon let out a small laugh, her head shaking dismissively but you ignored her as you followed her, your hip knocking into the counter and activating a Bluetooth speaker Seokjin had left behind, music beginning to blare from it,

['계획에 없던 너를 만나고. You're the first I never wanna let go.' ]

You gasped and reached for the speaker as the music echoed into the kitchen,

[ 'I know you love a freak like me. I know you want a freak like me.' ]

"Jesus Fu--" You caught yourself before you started to curse, "Sorry." A panicked grumble left your lips, snatching the speaker off the counter and switching it off with a disgruntled sigh, your eyes wide with embarrassment.

Of all songs to play... You thought to yourself, peeking at Mrs. Jeon who was frozen in place in surprise. "Me and Seokjinnie like to listen to music when we cook..." You tried to make up an excuse for why you had a song like that playing, eyes adverting to focus on a random spot on the wall in front of you, "He's a fun roommate." You let out a small laugh, remembering the exact reason why the both of you had Freak Like Me by Camo playing.

I mean you weren't totally lying. You both listened to music. Just not when cooking. The reality was that you were both were listening to Camo while you taught Seokjin how to dance as he claimed he wanted to come out of his shell at the club more and start joining his band-mates on the dancefloors rather than sticking by the bar like a wallflower.

He was a good dancer. Just shy is all. And you both made good practice. You couldn't wait to see him bust those moves down at the party tonight. You didn't even realize that was the last song you both were listening to and the embarrassment made you want to vanish through the floor,

"Don't look so scared, darling. Mom was your age once too, you know. It's okay to have fun." Her head turned to look at you and she smiled, "That little Seokjinnie could be quite the roommate, huh." She hummed, catching your look of surprise when she mentioned Jin, "Oh, honey. Don't give me that look. Jungkook lived with those boys for the better part of his life. I know what they are all like." She smiled fondly, hands already at her grocery bags to begin unpacking the items she had brought,

"Are you hungry?" She changed the topic as she pulled out a box of strawberries, "Dad sent them specially for you." Mrs. Jeon's lips pulled into a grin while she held the display of berries invitingly out to you, "I'll wash a few for you." She chirped before you could even answer her, "I'm sure that little boy Jin fed you good these few weeks but nothing is better than mom's cooking." She was busy at the sink washing the strawberries for you, setting them neatly onto a plate one by one.

You thought it was funny that she was addressing Seokjin as "little boy" because he sure as hell wasn't little at all. He was tall. 90% leg. Big ass feet. Long ass fingers. A nice, long, well defined neck. Nothing was small about that man. (Do what you will with that information). It was cute though. She must have stillsaw Bangtan as the teenagers they were during debut.

"He did." You started to smile at the thought of Seokjin, feeling more relaxed, "He has been taking good care of me." You leaned against the counter while you watched Mrs. Jeon with a knife in hand, plucking the strawberries one by one off the plate and cutting the leafy part of the berry off before setting the snack back down onto the plate, "I can just bite the leaves off, 어머님." You mumbled sheepishly as she took her time with the strawberries,

"Stop with the formalities, love. Just calling me mom is fine." She gave you a look before breaking into a smile, "Here. Eat." Mrs. Jeon slid the plate of strawberries over to you and turned away from the counter, circling the island in the middle of the kitchen to grab one of your aprons off a hook, "Have you spoke to Jungkook today? I tried giving him a call but he said he was in the middle of something." She shook her head, tying the apron around her waist with a small huff, "Sounded like he was with a bunch of people in a meeting or shooting. I could hear the stylist's and hairdressers talking to him." She clicked her tongue in annoyance and picked up a pair of dish gloves, sliding them onto her hands while she hummed to herself.

You watched Mrs. Jeon gearing up to begin doing your dishes and a wave of guilt washed over you. She must have thought you were living like a pig in a pen. With the sink full of dishes that you had forgot to do the night before. You wanted to protest. She shouldn't be standing here doing your chores that you were too lazy to finish but you knew she wouldn't allow you to get up from the snack she prepared for you to start doing the dishes too,

"Thank you, mom." You pulled the plate gratefully to you and smiled childishly, picking up the piece of fruit and pushing it into your mouth, chewing happily and humming in delight over the sweet, fresh taste of the snack. "Mm..." You had your mouth full of your second or third strawberry already, eyeing the fridge because you knew there a cannister of whipped cream inside and what was a delicious strawberry without equally if not more delicious whipped cream?

You were in the middle of chewing, cheeks stuffed with the large berry when Mrs. Jeon questioned you, "No-" You managed to respond, swallowing hard to speak clearer, "He texted me in the morning today and that was all." Your lips pursed into a small pout and then you frowned at the thought of Jungkook being busy.

You were glad to know he was getting what he needed done but you tilted your head in curiosity at the mention of his stylists being in the background of his phone call.

Were these stylist's women? Were they single? You knew the rule about all of Hybe's staff needing to be married but was that truly the case? Didn't someone recently quit their job because they fell in love with Jimin? Oh my God. Were there any bitches there entertaining your man while they did his makeup? A flash of concern waved through you and made you suddenly perk up in alert.

Wait... what's wrong with me?

There was no way in the world Jungkook was out there in your city cheating on you.

But wait... what if he goes to the clubs. What if he gets a dance from someone else? No... but what if?

"Honey, we need to talk." Mrs. Jeon looked over her shoulder at you and gave you a stern nod as she turned the faucet to the kitchen sink on and allowing for the pile of dishes inside to soak,

You shook your head quickly to make the intrusive thoughts fly out of your brain faster than the way they entered and Mrs. Jeon's voice brought you back to focus at the same time. The tone of her voice sounding worried and full of alarm when she spoke to you. It made the strawberry that you just swallowed feel stuck in your throat and you had to gulp to get it down,

"Um... yes, of course! We can talk about anything." You tried to sound cheery but you could already feel your stomach doing backflips within your body at her sudden announcement. You always hated when people said things like that and you couldn't help the anxiety starting to flutter through your chest.

Mrs. Jeon picked up a glass and began to run a sponge coated with dish soap over it, "Jungkook told me about the papers his boss brought to you both." She said, eyes focused on the cup within her hand, "He told me he ripped them up too." She let out a small scoff of irritation, "That boy never thinks twice." She mumbled under breath, washing the soap suds off the glass and setting it down to dry,

"I wish he didn't do that." You confessed quietly, poking around at the final strawberry in front of you as you fell silent.

Jungkook's mom was silent as well. The sounds of the water splashing in the sink and momentarily scrubbing of a sponge rubbing along the plate in her hand filled the room. She was quiet. Focused on the utensils in hand,

"So you want to sign them too." She stated with a nod, her back facing you as she continued with the dishes, "You don't think Jungkook's idea of letting things be is the right thing to do?" Mrs. Jeon questioned you, giving you a quick glance over her shoulder as she waited for your response,

"No." You answered her with certainty. Maybe too quick with certainty as Mrs. Jeon let out a small laugh at your quickness to answer. You took a breath and picked up the final strawberry, taking a nibble out of it as you tried to collect your thoughts, "I mean..." You started, shaking your head and then taking a bigger bite of the fruit and chewing, "...I want things to stay the same, mom. But it's impossible. Jungkook doesn't want to hide." You exhaled quietly, "But I don't want to be seen." You nodded quickly, "Not yet at least. I'm not ready." Your lips pursed in thought and then you spoke once more, "What do you think I should do, mom?" You asked Mrs. Jeon, hoping she would have better insight.

Mrs. Jeon was finished with the dishes in record time and she finally turned around to look at you as she slid the dish gloves off her hands, "Hmm..." Her lips pressed into a line, hands at the back of her apron to untie it, "I think..." Her head tilted from side to side briefly while she pondered on what to say, "I think you should do what Jungkook wants." She nodded, pulling the apron off and hanging it up with a smile, "He always knows best for the two of you, right? Why don't you leave it all in his hands?"

"I..." Your head turned slightly as if you didn't hear Mrs. Jeon correctly.

Knows what's best? Her words echoed in your ears and you raised a brow, lips drooping into a small frown,

"Oh."  You finally whispered, heart sinking to your stomach.

Well, I guess what they said about mother in laws and Daughter in laws butting heads was the truth, huh?

Suddenly things felt like they were about to get really awkward.
