Ardor - 41.

"Y/N?"

The deep tone of Namjoon's voice cut through your thoughts like a breaking dam. You were lost in your own little world. Your mind was replaying the moments of your fight with Jungkook in your head. You could still see his stupid but adorable puppy eyes looking at you when you left after your argument.

You almost regretted leaving Jungkook at the dorms. A very large part of you wanting nothing more than to stay with him... but you were hurt. Hurt that he yelled at you. Hurt that he assumed you didn't want him. Hurt that he even had the audacity to accuse you of ever wanting anyone else that wasn't him.

Yes, Jungkook had jealous tendencies. He wasn't possessive or controlling in the slightest and you were grateful for that. And normally, you didn't mind him displaying those little jealous outbursts. You found it cute almost but today was different. Jungkook looked like he wanted to knock Yoongi's ass out and it scared you.

"Hm?"  You shook your head to clear your thought and fiddled with the utensils in your hand, "Yeah?" You mumbled, blinking up at Namjoon.

The two of you were sharing a plate of his favorite midnight snack, tteokbeokki. Lucky for you, it happened to be one of your favorites as well and soon enough, you were quickly devouring the snack with him.

Namjoon and you spent your quick drive to the restaurant conversing about his day at work and your day doing well... nothing except fighting with Jungkook. You both then spent the time waiting for your food talking about books and music you have been listening to lately. Namjoon was currently re-reading 1984 by George Orwell. Namjoon said it was a good read and he highly recommended it. Your mind wandered to the same book you left on your bookshelf back home in your city. You bought it for a psychology class you were taking in college and never got around to ever opening it. Namjoon insisted you read it to the end. Even going as far to offering his own copy to you. Of course, you said no but you made a mental note to give it a try once you went back to your city... if you were ever going back, that is.

Namjoon was so easy-going. He was very much a listener. Sitting quietly in his chair across from you and swallowing you up under his warm, coffee-colored eyes. He didn't voice his input unless it was needed, allowing you to take the floor to talk about anything and everything. He listened well too. Just like Jungkook. He was intrigued with what you had to say. He questioned you on everything. Wanting to know why you had certain opinions and why you thought the way you did. He was enjoyable to talk to too. Giving you his entire attention and smothering you with those wonderfully intriguing eyes. Something about Namjoon made you want to tell him your deepest, darkest secrets because you knew he would never judge you.

He was friendly, comforting and inviting. Talking to him felt like sipping a mug of hot chocolate by a fireplace.

And Namjoon was warm. Literally warm.

When your fingers brushed each other as he handed you a pair of chopsticks, you could feel the heat radiating off his skin. And when he smiled at you with his deep-set dimples cascading along his honey-colored skin and beautiful dragon like eyes crinkling to half-moons it made you feel as though you were standing under a tropical sun. No wonder Jungkook looked up to Namjoon so much. Literally and figuratively. He was compassionate and listened to you blab away about random things. The attention he gave you was comforting.

Namjoon had to admit though. He admired you. Not necessarily in a sexual way like some of the others did. But in a more matured way. Yes, he believed you were extremely gorgeous. Breathtaking, really with striking features and curves in all the right places... but he thought you were more brilliant and interesting to talk to as well. Namjoon saw himself in you in a way and knew you would take good care of his beloved youngest member. He believed you were good for Jungkook and when you fell silent after you both had your fill of tteokbeokki and other snacks, Namjoon could sense something was wrong,

"You seem a little bothered by something? Is everything okay?"

Namjoon looked at you with a tender gaze as he spoke. You felt sucked into a deep hole from the way he looked at you. His gaze was intense but still soft. Full of concern and attentiveness. He always looked at you that way. He looked at everyone like that. As if you were the only person he could see. Giving you his time and patience. Letting you know he was all ears to hear anything you had to say no matter how stupid it might sound,

"Ugh... am I that easy to read?" You ran a hand over your face and shook your head.

Namjoon noticed how tired you looked. Taking note of the stressed-out expression on your face and the way you closed in on yourself almost as if you wanted to hug yourself and cocoon your body within your jacket.

Something was definitely bothering you.

"You obviously don't have to tell me if anything is bothering you but I can sense you're not your usual self. Perhaps you're tired? We can head out if you like." Namjoon looked at you and quirked a small smile, starting to get up to pay.

You shook your head again, reaching out to stop him from getting up, "No, no.." You hummed, leaning back in your seat as you sighed, "I'm not tired." You mumbled, lips pursing for a moment before you spoke, "I'm just stressed a bit about school stuff and...--" You took a breath and sighed again, "...And then me and J.K had a little fight today."

Namjoon sat back in his seat as you spoke. He had his arms crossed over his wide chest as he rubbed at his chin. He was trying to stay casual but he was genuinely concerned. His jaw clenched in thought before he shook his head, "I'm sorry to hear about that, Y/N. But you and Jungkook didn't cross me as the type to fight."

"We don't. Well, this is our first fight. It's not even a fight actually. More like a minor misunderstanding that went too far." You muttered, chopsticks poking at the leftover pieces of food in front of you.

Namjoon took a breath, arms uncrossing from his chest and a wide hand wrapping around the glass of water in front of him, "If you don't mind me asking, Y/N. What was the misunderstanding about?" He put the glass to his lips, taking a small sip. He didn't want to push you but felt as though you needed to talk to someone. It would be fine if you didn't want to talk too but Namjoon also didn't want for you to bottle up anything that was bothering you. He used to do that a lot for a long period of his life, he went through a dark time because of that.

You filled your lungs with air and exhaled slowly, eyes glancing to the window behind Namjoon. Your gaze fixating on the flurries of snow beginning to fall from the night sky. You rubbed at your forehead and looked down, playing with the edges of the table before mumbling, "I hugged Yoongi and he got upset about it. Started assuming that don't even want to be with him. Talking about how I'm just playing games with him. Something along those lines. I don't remember what he said anymore... I left after we... spoke." You gave Namjoon a look and he nodded knowingly with a reassuring smile before you continued, "And... and I decided to give him space. I was going home when we met in the elevator."

"Ah, I see. Classic Jungkook, huh?" Namjoon shook his head in disappointment, his chin jutting out a bit. "How did that made you feel? Hearing the things he assumed and accused you of, I mean."

"Angry." You nodded instantly at Namjoon's question and he chuckled quietly,

"How do you feel now? Is the anger gone?"

You looked at Namjoon. His gaze was on your face, reading your expression intently. Your lips parted to speak but you closed them and thought for a moment,

"Honestly... I'm still pissed off. But I feel like... like I miss him." You nodded, "I keep checking my phone for a text from him or a missed call. I wish I didn't leave so we could have talked it over or something." Your cheeks puffed and you looked away to the TV playing some sort of news special on the wall across from the two of you.

"You know what that means, Y/N?"

"Aniyo." You tore your eyes away from the TV and shook your head dumbly as you looked back at Namjoon while he chuckled, a soft smile caressing his plump lips,

"You're a smart girl, Y/N. I'm sure you can figure out what I'm saying. It means that you're the opposite of whatever stupid thing Jungkook was accusing you of doing or being." He nodded, pausing to take a sip of his water again before his hands clasped under his chin as he looked at you, "Space is definitely important after a fight but once you find yourself looking for them when it's over, that means it's time to talk."

"I don't want to say sorry to him. He started it." You huffed childishly and Namjoon covered his mouth as he began to laugh, "You're funny, Y/N." He shook his head, wide shoulders rising and falling as he chuckled quietly behind his broad hand. Your lips quirked a little smile and soon you were giggling along with him before you rolled your eyes at yourself, "I feel so dramatic. Ugh. Should I say sorry to him, RM?"

"There is no need for you apologize to him unless you feel the need to, Y/N. If anything..." He paused, "... I should be saying sorry to you, Y/N. I raised Jungkook. He should know better." Namjoon's lips pursed to the side, a beautiful dimple peeking out along his cheek. He was looking for a way to phrase what he wanted to say better, rubbing at the center of his forehead for a second before he leaned closer to you, warm eyes on your face and studying your features intently, "I'm sorry, Y/N. Jungkook should know what he has and I'm actually really disappointed that he would lash out at you like that. But please understand," Namjoon paused, eyes on your face and dropping to your lips for a brief second before looking back at you, "He loves you. Maybe more than he can handle right now. I've been watching him lately. We all have. Jungkook is confused and excited. These feelings are all new to him. I can only assume he doesn't know what to do with himself and regrets getting upset the way he did and I also could only hope he tells you that himself." Namjoon leaned back in his seat once he was finished speaking with a nod, "Should you be upset? Yes, you damn well should be. But don't let the anger control you. It's not good for your health. You know what I'm saying?"

You sat there quietly as Namjoon spoke. You felt childish but in a good way. It reminded you of the first time you met Namjoon. The way he spoke to you so fondly. Warm gaze on your face, never looking away. His gentle eyes full of patience and virtue. Namjoon truly was an amazing person. You took another deep breath, fingers smoothing over your lap as you nodded, "Of course, I know what you're saying, oppa." You smiled lightly at him before sighing, "I just feel like it's just gotten worse after I kissed Jimin and V at the club the other night. Fuck. Why did I do that?" You mumbled more to yourself than him, looking down at your lap as you shook your head.

"Do you think he feels bad for asking you to do that? And maybe that's why he's acting that way?"

"He shouldn't." You nodded and Namjoon hummed in response, pinching his chin as he thought,

"Do you feel bad?" His voice was softer now, studying the look of worry on your face.

Namjoon wanted to comfort you.

There was just something about you that made him want to shield you. To protect and spoil you. He liked tiny, cute things and you were just that. Maybe that's why. He wondered if it would be weird to pick you up and squish you in his arms.

"I-..." You paused for a moment before mumbling, "I don't." You stole a glance at Namjoon to see if he was disgusted by your admittance to having no regrets to kissing VMin but the only expression you could read from his lovely face was reassurance.

"Don't feel embarrassed, Y/N. I'll share something with you too, okay? I... I kissed Jin that night at the club. He doesn't remember. But I do. And I have no regrets either. We're young. Life shouldn't have to feel so difficult." He breathed out as if a relief had been lifted from his shoulders. He too had been dying to tell someone about what went down that night.

Namjoon was good at hiding how he felt. Always putting on a calm face full of solemnity. After training for years before debuting, Namjoon learned how important one's facial expressions were. Especially as the leader of a group. And in this case, he felt no judgement towards you or Jungkook for what happened that night. No one is perfect. Namjoon believed everyone should be entitled to like what they wanted and do whatever and whoever they pleased. Who would he be if he judged anyone based on their wants and desires? If anything, he respected your honesty.

You looked at Namjoon as he spoke and you felt your stomach pool with butterflies, a feeling of relief washing over you, "I'm glad I'm not the only one that has no regrets. You're right... we are young. I need to stop worrying like an old lady" You mumbled and Namjoon laughed,

"You'll be fine, Y/N." He nodded, glancing at the television and checking the time, "It's getting late. I don't want to keep you out for too long." Namjoon nodded, turning around to signal for the bill.

"Oh gosh, I didn't even realize the time." You mumbled as you glanced at your phone, pouting lightly when you noticed that Namjoon already took his card out and paid the bill. He looked at you as you were about to protest and shook his head dismissively, "My treat."

"I'll get you next time". Your eyes narrowed and Namjoon chuckled, sliding out of the chair and wrapping his scarf back around his neck, "I don't think so." He shook his head as he chuckled.

You made a noise of disappointment as you slid your coat on, zipping it all the way up to your chin and burying the lower half of your face within in, "At least let me take you back to your dorms." You frowned as you followed after Namjoon to the door's exit.

Namjoon chuckled quietly and turned to you as he held the exit door for you, "I'm going to take a walk back to the dorms. It's not too far and I enjoy doing it." He stepped outside with you and the cold air almost knocked you backwards inside. You shook your head and was about to start objecting but Namjoon simply reached over and patted your back with a smile,

"Don't worry, Y/N. I'll be okay. You go home and rest..." Namjoon rubbed the back of his neck, reaching into his pocket and taking his phone out, "If you don't mind... Text me when you get home so I know you arrived safely." He nodded with an almost shy smile, "We can exchange numbers."

"Damn. Why are all you Bangtan men so stubborn." You huffed as he reassured you that he would be okay before you took his phone with a soft smile, "There." You handed his phone back to him after saving your number and he took your own phone when you gave it to him, punching in his number as well and saving his name as 'R.M from BTS.'  in it as if you would forget who he was. You found it cute. "Did you have to add the 'from BTS' part? I know who you are." You giggled and Namjoon started to laugh, looking down at the snowy ground as he shook his head,

"Bad habit. Sorry."

"You're cute. I mean, it's cute." You blurted out almost too quickly, not even realizing what you were saying. Your thoughts speaking for themselves. You quickly looked away, hoping he didn't think you were weird for calling him cute.

Namjoon gave you a broad grin as a thank you. He hadn't been called cute in a while and the small compliment warmed his heart. He looked down at his feet, reaching into his jeans and taking his phone out of his pocket once more, unlocking it and scrolling through his contacts until he found your name, "Y/N. Jungkook's girlfriend. Rainbow emoji. Goofy smiley face emoji. Happy face emoji. Sparkle emoji."  He chuckled as he checked what you saved your named as in his phone, "I'll never be able to miss a call or text from you with all of those emojis popping up on my screen." He chuckled before stuffing his hands into his pant pockets after he tucked his phone away, "Ah. I wish we could hang out longer, Y/N. It's been a while since I've spent time with anyone except the guys. It feels great." He shook his head in disappointment and you laughed, looking down at the snow under your feet, starting to trace patterns in the snow with the tip of your boot as you spoke,

"Well, I'm technically less than ten minutes away from your workplace. We can always hang out, Namjoon." You looked at him and smiled, "We still have to go to the art gallery and ride our bikes along the river when the weather gets better, remember?"

"You're right! I forgot about all of that." Namjoon chuckled before letting out a soft sigh, watching the clouds of air from his breath disappear into the night sky before he murmured, "And, Y/N... make sure you talk to Jungkook. You both need to let out some obvious pent-up feelings..." He smiled at you, leaning down to your height with his grin widening, "And I mean actually talk, hm?" Namjoon winked at you playfully before leaning back with a soft chuckle escaping his lips.

Your face flushed red and you rolled your eyes at Namjoon, kicking a bit of snow over to his direction as you tried not to burst out in a fit of giggles, "Right... Talk." You started to laugh anyways, shaking your head before hearing your phone ding in your coat, you quickly tugged it out of your pocket, hoping it was Jungkook.

"That's probably JK." Namjoon hummed and you shook your head, a light pout pursing along your lips as you read the contact's name, "It's Jimin." You rolled your eyes, quickly unlocking your phone to read the message:

1:34AM - Jiminie

Y/N 😨 where are you?

"Ah. I'm sorry, Y/N." Namjoon sighed softly as you shoved your phone back into your jacket pocket, shaking your head, "No worries." You smiled and started to step back, "I'll head home now, Namjoon. Let's hang out again one day." You smiled at him to hide your disappointment but Namjoon noticed it right away, shaking his head lightly.

"Is it okay if I walk you to your car, Y/N? It's dark out." Namjoon smiled. He didn't want you to go walking alone in the dark especially since you have only been in this country for less than a week too, "It's the least I can do since you agreed to have dinner with me." He gave you a reassuring grin and you chewed over your lower lip as you thought.

You had nothing to worry about. Namjoon wasn't a creep. He was genuinely concerned about your well-being and you had to wonder if him and the rest of Bangtan were always this respectful and caring. They were all so well mannered. Had this been any other person you've come across; you would have been clutching your pepper spray tight to your chest right now but Namjoon made you feel safe. He was a gentle giant. It warmed your heart.

"Alrighty." Your lips curved into a small smile after a short consideration and you nodded gratefully to Namjoon because to be honest, you forgot where you parked. You were too shy to ask him to walk with you and you probably would have been walking around in circles if you tried to find your car on your own. You were extremely thankful for his offer.

Namjoon began to lead you towards the area where you parked and you followed alongside him, glancing over to him after a moment of walking. You had to strain a bit to look up at his face. But it was worth it. He was so tall and handsome. He had a small smile on his face, clutching his book against his chest with his freehand tucked into the pocket of his jeans, face buried in his fluffy scarf. Lord, he was cute. "Aren't you cold, Joonie?" You mumbled, teeth chattering as you hugged your coat around you tighter. The bitter air blew around you and you began to wonder if it was just you that felt this cold because everyone you passed by was dressed in almost autumn-like fashion.

Namjoon chuckled and glanced over to you. "Nope. If anything, I feel warmed up from all of that food." He smiled at you and abruptly stopped walking, "Here, Y/N. Your lips are turning blue." He nodded and stopped you from walking, reaching up and unwrapping the thick scarf from around his neck.

"N-No. it's okay, Namjoon. I'm fine." You mumbled quickly when he began to take his scarf off and he shook his head, "You can return it next time we hang out, okay? Don't sweat it." He pulled the scarf off from his neck and stepped closer to you, slinging the scarf around your neck and fixing it neatly around you, "Looks good on you too." Namjoon chuckled as he adjusted the scarf, peeking down at you face with a small smile, "Are you comfortable?"

You stood there timidly as he leaned down to your level and slung the scarf around you. You couldn't help but instantly melt into the soft fabric. The scent of fresh laundry wafting off the material and instantly awakened your senses. So, this is what Namjoon smelled like, huh?  You snuggled into the scarf and peeked up at Namjoon, "Y-Yes... I'm comfy. Thank you." You mumbled quickly. Your cheeks burned in embarrassment and Namjoon laughed quietly, shaking his head,

"It's nothing, Y/N." He smiled and you both kept walking. The two of you were quiet now, both of you were deep in your own thoughts and soon becoming absorbed in your overthinking.

You were busy praying silently that you wouldn't get lost on your drive home. The car had a built in GPS but you didn't have the greatest sense of direction. Your thoughts then went to Jungkook. You wondered if he ate, if his meeting was over and if he had time to think. You sighed to yourself, hoping Jungkook would come home tonight otherwise, it would be a hell of a lonely night on your own. But maybe you needed some alone time. You didn't feel that you did until you took your phone out of your pocket to check the time, getting a glimpse at your nails. You were mortified at their condition. You finally noticed you were due for a refill on your nails and suddenly you realized you've been so caught up with being around Jungkook that you had zero time to do your own self-care. You made a mental note to venture out on your own tomorrow to the salons and figure out how to get your shit done.

Namjoon's mind however was swarming with thoughts about his dongsaeng. He was extremely disappointed in Jungkook And he hoped he would still be at the dorms before he got back so he could talk some sense into the younger himself. You both finally got to your car and Namjoon chuckled when you breathed a sigh of relief, "Wasn't that far away, right?" He smiled and you nodded in agreement with a smile, taking your car keys out of your pocket before turning to him,

"You really didn't have to do this, Namjoon but I'm glad you did. It was fun hanging out with you."

"Again, it's nothing." Namjoon looked at you and his plump lips curved into an adorable smile, his eyes curving the same way his lips did and showing off his perfectly straight teeth to you. His smile stunned you. Making your cheeks flush at how handsome was when he smiled that way. Namjoon was another person you wanted to introduce to your single friends. You figured that he would be a hit with them.

He reached out, giving your arm a pat, "Text me when you're home, Y/N and take care." He nodded with a smile, his hand dropping back to his side.

Namjoon wanted to hug you. To crush you against his chest and maybe even pet your hair. But he knew his boundaries. Normally he was the tough love type of leader but in real life, he was a big softie. When he looked at you, he didn't remember you as the girl from the club or the girl that woke the entire hotel up that one night. He saw a human. A person with feelings. Feelings that were very clearly hurt. He felt bad that you and Jungkook had to have a silly fight like that. He blamed the younger for it and needed to have a long talk with him if Jungkook wanted this relationship he had with you to last.

You smiled at Namjoon, "I will. You take care too, Joonie. I'll see you soon." You nodded and turned away, feeling his eyes on your back as you circled around to the driver's side of your car and unlocked it, sliding into the car quickly and shutting the door. You smiled at him through the windshield of the vehicle and he waved goodbye, turning away and disappearing up the snowy street in the direction you both came from.

Once he was out of sight, your head instantly flopped down to the steering wheel in front of you. "Jesus. They're all so fucking nice." You mumbled to yourself and lifted your head as you tried to rub the blush staining your cheeks away. You were used to being given special attention whenever you went out but these guys gave you a different type of attention. They were genuinely the sweetest bunch of people you have ever met. Especially Namjoon. So careful and polite. You really felt as though you got extremely lucky to meet them. You couldn't believe you barely knew who they were before. You truly had been living under a rock all this time.

...

"What was the rush about? I was about to take a nap." Taehyung mumbled as he walked into Jungkook's dorm, rubbing tiredly at his eye.

Jimin followed after Taehyung quietly, eyes trained on Jungkook's face from over Taehyung's head, picking up right away that something wasn't right, "What's wrong Kookie? You normally don't call a meeting like this unless... --" Jimin's eyes scanned the bedroom and then went back to Jungkook's face, "--Wait, where's Y/N?"

"She went home."

"Why?" Taehyung mumbled, finally noticing the younger's distraught look. The exhaustion he felt disappeared instantly as he looked at Jungkook, "What happened?"

"Did she break up with you?" Jimin's eyes were wide as he ran up to the younger and grabbed him by the shoulders, "Talk to us, Jungkook. Tell us what happened."

Jungkook was quiet, shaking his head as he moved out of Jimin's arms and over to his computer chair, taking a seat with a huff and exhaling softly, "I don't even know what to say."

"Start from the beginning." Taehyung mumbled, eyes focused on the mess of papers and pens scattered all over the floor, "Did you guys fight or something? What's with all the mess?" He leaned down and started to pick the stationary up, fixing the discarded pens into the holder and placing it back onto the desk along with the papers.

Jimin plopped down onto the couch and looked at the younger, sighing softly. Jungkook's head was hung, his forearms crossed over his lap as he leaned down. He looked exhausted. Both physically and mentally, "Did you eat yet, Kook?"

Silence.

"Yo. J.K." Taehyung mumbled from the floor where he was sitting cross legged, extending his foot out to nudge Jungkook's who's eyes were still glued to the floor.

More silence.

The younger finally slowly looked up at his hyungs and sighed, "I fucked up. "

"What did you do?" Both Jimin and Taehyung asked at the same time. They sat up, exchanging a look with each other before their gazes burned into Jungkook's face, "Tell us what happened, Kookie. I'm sure it's nothing." Jimin mumbled, almost getting off the couch and crossing over to the younger to hug him. He thought the younger looked broken. Sad. Confused. Angry too. He wanted to comfort him so bad but he needed to know why he was so upset first.

Jungkook pressed his lips together as he tried to think about what to say next, shaking his head before leaning back in his seat and sighing out loudly, "I snapped at Y/N. I don't know why I did. I just... fuck." Jungkook smoothed his fingers through his hair, his leg bouncing up and down as he felt his heart rate accelerating, "I walked in to Yoongi's room after practice and they were hugging." He mumbled, taking a breath, "I just fucking lost it. It's Yoongi for fucks sake. I trust him with my life but I still lost it. I didn't even snap at him.. That's what's fucked up. I yelled at her. Fuck... I forced her to hang out with him because I didn't want to leave her alone and now fuck me-- I don't fucking know."

"Alright, Kookie... take a breath." Jimin mumbled and got off the couch, striding over to the younger and leaning against the desk, his slender arm wrapping around Jungkook's shoulders, "We all lose our cool from time to time. It happens."

"But I shouldn't have." Jungkook groaned, kicking at a moving box filled with his personal items inside in front of him.

"I'm sorry, Jungkookie... What should I do? Should we call her?" Jimin murmured, leaning down and pressing his cheek against the top of Jungkook's head, rocking the younger slightly in his arms. No matter what, Jungkook was his baby. His heart ached seeing the younger this way. He was disappointed that shit like this happened and his mind immediately went to you.

Who was comforting you while Jungkook had his hyungs here? As much as Jimin loved Jungkook, he wanted to go to you and comfort you instead. When you were upset before, you called Jimin for help and he silently hoped you would do the same thing again. He felt distressed at the thought of you being alone right now.

"She doesn't want to talk. She left after we-- argued." Jungkook paused and shook his head and Taehyung interrupted him, "We heard you guys fucking but go on, yes. She left after you both 'talked'" He made air quotations with his fingers as he looked at the younger, lips stretching and pressing into a thin line as he shook his head in disappointed. Taehyung's anger slowly started to rise within him as he listened to Jungkook, a bubble of bitterness forming in the pit of his stomach.

The younger really had no idea how lucky he was. How lucky he had been to fall in love so easily and so fast with a person so accepting and loving like you too. And here he was fucking it up because of his own personal insecurities. He wanted to punch Jungkook for it but he kept his cool, chewing the inside of his cheek and keeping his dark, stinging gaze on the younger as he spoke.

Jungkook rolled his eyes and looked down at his hands folded over his lap, "Fuck off." He mumbled and continued, "She told me to think about shit first then come home." His lower lip was between his teeth now, feeling Jimin's arm tighten around his shoulders.

Normally, Jungkook wouldn't mind his hyung trying to comfort him but he wanted nothing more than to feel your touch. Something about the way you held him and ran your fingers through his hair and along his skin whenever he was feeling down made him feel better almost instantly. He swore he could feel you with him right now. The smell of your perfume and lotion still lingered in his room and it made him regret fighting with you even more. It was agonizing. He caused all of this and still didn't know what to do to make it right. He figured calling his Hyung's over would help but he wasn't even sure if they could help him at this point.

This was a Jungkook problem. His own battle to face.

Jimin looked at Taehyung for some help but he was silent as he observed the younger. Rubbing at his chin in thought while he watched him. Tae cleared his throat and moved from the floor to the couch, sitting across from the younger, black eyes trained on Jungkook's face when he finally spoke, the rage he felt was gnawing at his stomach and he said the words faster than he thought about them,

"Dump her."

"What?!?" Jimin's eyes went wide as his gaze flashed to Taehyung, "Are you trying to make the situation worse or better, V?"

"Dump her, Jungkook." Taehyung said again, ignoring Jimin's glare. He spoke this time with a nod, his deep voice more prominent now as he leaned his back against the couch, arms once again crossing over his chest, "Break up with her so someone else can have her. Someone like myself or Yoongi even since you're so riled up over a simple hug. You clearly can't handle being in a serious relationship." Taehyung mumbled, looking at his nails as he spoke, eyes meeting the youngers again.

"What did you just fucking say?" Jungkook's head snapped up and he raised a brow, shifting in his seat as if he was about to jump out and attack the older. He felt his blood start to boil, adrenaline beginning to pump through his veins. The thought of you with Taehyung flashed in his mind for a second and Jungkook swore he could see red. Like hell he'd ever think to let you go that easily. He'd shed blood before he ever let that fucking happen. Is this what Taehyung wanted all along? Jungkook was ready to go ballistic, calculating how fast it would take him to knock his hyung out but Jimin was squeezing at his shoulders, holding him back when he felt Jungkook leaning forward as if he was about to leap out of his chair.

"Tae. Quit it. It's not funny." Jimin mumbled and shot a glare at Taehyung before reaching quickly to his back pocket to grab his phone. He had Hoseok on speed dial in case the two began fighting. The most level headed and fair one out of all seven of them. He wasn't afraid to call their hyung to intervene. "You both just need to calm the fuck down."

Taehyung didn't bat an eye though. Completely ignoring Jimin and deciding to ignite the flame even further. He leaned forward closer to Jungkook, tilting his head. He sat there for a moment quietly and they both exchanged a menacing look before he his dark brow raised as well, "You heard me, Kook." Taehyung stood up with a nod then shrugged, "Y/N needs a man and not a big ass baby that's gonna explode over nothing." He laughed, reaching up to run his fingers through his hair, "Are you pissed that I'm saying the truth? Jimin agrees with me. He just doesn't want to make you mad but you need to hear it, Kook." He paused, tongue clicking against the roof of his mouth before he spoke, "Y/N deserves better."

Jungkook instantly shoved himself out of Jimin's arms at Taehyung's words and stood up at once, stalking over to the elder and getting right up in his face, "Say that again." He spat getting closer to Taehyung. His eyes burned into the other's, jaw clenched tight with his hands balling into fists at his side. He was fuming, steam almost coming out of his ears. He wanted to throw his hyung through a wall. Jungkook's chest heaved as he stood there, darkened irises flaming into Taehyung's own fiery stare. He could feel the heat rushing to his face and Jimin was right behind him, hands on his arms and yanking him back but his muscles only flexed and retracted under Jimin's touch, the searing rage boiling inside of him and threatening to detonate.

"Taehyung, what the fuck are you doing?!" Jimin yelled, "You're supposed to be helping! What the fuck are you even saying?" Jimin struggled to hold Jungkook back until he finally had to let go. He grabbed his phone and pressed Hoseok's number, ringing Hoseok's phone once and hanging up. It was their signal to their hyung that there was an emergency and they needed him pronto.

"I am helping." Taehyung mumbled, his scowl on Jungkook's. They were almost nose-to-nose but Taehyung didn't care. He knew what he was doing. They haven't had a disagreement in a long time and he knew they wouldn't get close to a fist fight as much as he wanted to clock Jungkook in the head right now. He fucking loved Jungkook and the younger needed to see how stupid and unreasonable he was being. He fought with you over a dumb little hug? Fuck, he felt like kicking Jungkook's ass right here in this room just for that. "What? You're gonna put your hands on me? Do it. I dare you to."

"Alright that's enough. Both of you. Now." Hoseok's voice was loud and boisterous as he flung the door of the room open, "Back off." He commanded but the two didn't move a single inch. Their glares were piercing and deadly, refusing to stand down. "I said back the hell off now. Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung." Hoseok spoke up louder now, walking into the room after kicking his shoes off, getting closer to the two of them. Hoseok wasn't afraid to get between the two of them, interjecting himself in the middle of Jungkook and V, giving Jungkook's chest a gentle push as his hand went to Taehyung's shoulder, "This is unnecessary. Give each other some space and let's talk." Hoseok mumbled, shaking his head as he exchanged looks with the two of them, "Now before I get RM on the phone to deal with this shit." He threatened with a serious nod.

Jimin was behind Taehyung now as he finally backed away from Jungkook, pulling him backwards to the couch and pushing him to take a seat with a sigh. Jungkook continued to stand there, his eyes lowering as Taehyung shifted to the couch.

"I just wanted him to see how fucking foolish he's being, hyung." Taehyung murmured as he sat down, "You have everything you want, Jungkook." His voice softened now, anger cooling almost instantly as he sat down, shaking his head with a disgruntled sigh, "You could have anything in this world. But you know what you can't have? What you can't keep? Real love." Taehyung chuckled dryly, "You don't let yourself have it because you think you don't deserve it. You don't see the way Y/N looks at you. Or maybe you're too fucking blind to see it but everyone else does so maybe you do need to break up with her. If you don't, she'll eventually break up with you. Unless you change." Taehyung continued, crossing his leg over the other, "You have no idea how easy it is for someone else to step in and do a better job at loving her. Someone that isn't insecure. Someone that doesn't go ape shit when she hugs another person. She deserves better than that and if you keep it up, Jungkook, it won't be long until she leaves your ass." He shrugged. "Might not be me. Might not be Yoongi. It could be anyone that would be ready and willing to take your place. If you don't get it together, it'll happen before you even know it." Taehyung sighed, leaning back against the couch with an exhale, flicking his tousled hair out of his face.

"What he's trying to say is that..." Jimin sighed, moving back over to Jungkook who was slumped down in his computer chair, "I don't even know what he's trying to say. Nevermind." Jimin sighed, clearly exhausted from having to almost watching his two best friends fight each other, "I mean, I understand what you were doing, V... but fuck. You scared the shit out of me. I can't even think straight right now."

Hoseok sighed and took a seat on the floor, pulling his knees to his chest as he looked up at Jungkook. He was quiet. Surveying the tension in the room and weighing how angry Jungkook really was. The younger definitely seemed ticked off but not enough to start brawling. That was a good sign. His eyes then went to Taehyung and Jimin, pulling his baseball cap off his head and running his slender fingers through his hair before fixing his hat back on as he searched his brain for something to say. He finally whistled out softly, lips pursing before finally murmuring, "Taehyung doesn't want Y/N. None of us do, J.K. Not in the way you think at least... We like her, yeah. She's a good girl, yeah. A great girl actually. She's perfect. And yes, I definitely believe some of these guys flirt a little too much with her but it's harmless..." He took a breath and continued, "...if you trust us, you should know we don't wanna get in her pants at all. I see you lack a lot in trust right now. A lot. But this isn't even about us either. This is something you've been dealing with for as long as we knew you. But now that you have someone to love... you feel overwhelmed, huh?"

"Tae and Hobi-hyung are right, Koo. Y/N is that real real love. She's good for you. What you've been needing and missing. But... You're gonna lose her if you pull shit like this." Jimin puffed his cheeks out after mumbling, lips pressing tightly together as he felt his heart clench within his chest. Jimin was worried. He had shot you a text when Hoseok was between the two brothers but still hadn't received a reply from you yet. He didn't want to tell Jungkook that he couldn't find you but if he didn't hear from you in the next 20 minutes, he'd have to tell the younger.

"What's going on in your head, J.K? Can you tell us that?" Hoseok questioned, "I just want to understand why you would think this way."

Jungkook looked down, gnawing over his lower lip as his thoughts raced. He exhaled softly and gave Hoseok a glance, nodding lightly, "I keep thinking I'll lose her to someone better." He finally looked up fully, eyes trailing over to each of his hyung's faces, "I fucking lost my temper for nothing."

"Who's better, Jungkook?" Taehyung questioned, cocking his head to the side, "Who's better than you? Again. You don't even see the way she looks at you. When we're around, it doesn't even fucking matter which one of us is there. All she sees is you."

"It's always been like that, Kookie." Jimin agreed with a sigh, fingers lightly running down Jungkook's back, "Do you remember the first night at her club? I saw her first. I pointed her out to you because you were too busy downing drinks. I watched her walk out onto the stage longer than you. We all had eyes on her but the second..." Jimin made a motion with his hands, a toothy grin along his lips as he recalled the first night he ever saw you. He thought you were perfect. Jimin wanted you all to himself that night but something in him made him point you out to Jungkook instead. He regretted doing it at first but he soon came to understand, it was inevitable. You and Jungkook were meant to be together. Jimin continued, his grin never leaving his bubblegum-colored lips "...The second you looked at each other, no one else mattered anymore. We all noticed it. We all felt it."

"And remember when you asked for a private dance with her? I was about to ask for the same room as well but I got caught up with another dancer and gave you the chance instead? Don't you think it was all for a reason, Jungkook?" Hoseok chuckled from the floor, reaching out and giving Jungkook's leg a shake, "And remember when you left the club right after? All cloudy eyed and stuck in a trance? I thought you were wasted already but I remember telling Yoongi that night something happened to you in that room. We even joked that you fell in love with a stripper. We knew it all along but didn't think it was true."

Taehyung let out a soft chuckle as well, getting off the couch and switching spots with Jimin, his arm draping around Jungkook as he spoke, "How about that night when we all hung out at the club? Just a few days ago actually. We literally took turns dancing with her and kissing her. But you knew who she asked for after kissing both me and Jimin hyung? You, pabo." Taehyung shook his head, giving Jungkook a squeeze, "I thought it was hilarious but I realized that night that you had a keeper. Why you failed to noticed that by yourself is beyond me." His tongue clicked in distaste, "You could be such an idiot sometimes, Jungkook. I don't even know what to say to you."

Jungkook sniffed lightly, leaning a bit into Taehyung's touch as he listened to him speak. He concentrated carefully on all of his Hyung's talking and he started to come to the conclusion on why he was so insecure. Jungkook had no idea how love worked. What he thought was love with his exes wasn't that. Not even close. The way he felt for you was love. The suffocating but exciting feeling. His heart bursting from his chest at the thought of you. Feeling his skin tingle everytime you touched him. His own lips curving into a grin each time you smiled at him. Thoughts of growing old and grey with you. Wanting to take you home to his parents. Thinking of marrying you. Dreaming of having a family with you. That was love. And fuck, he was stupid for ever doubting you.

"Fuck. I feel so fucking dumb." Jungkook groaned and Taehyung laughed, giving the younger another squeeze as he sighed, "You're not dumb, Kook... you're just...--"

Hoseok leaned forward, patting Jungkook's knee, finishing Taehyung's sentence, "Not dumb. Just in love." His lips rose into a glowing smile as he laughed and Jimin chimed in with a chuckle too, getting off the couch and walking over to Taehyung and Jungkook, pulling the younger into his arms as he hugged him,

"We've always been a family, Kookie. But I think Y/N is your family now too. You need to focus on growing your relationship with her and stop worrying about stupid things like us hugging her. I'm hugging you right now, is V over there gonna be jealous? No."

"Actually--" Taehyung laughed, "I am jealous. I want to be hugged too."

"After." Jimin beamed at him, swaying lightly with Jungkook in his embrace, "Ugh, Jungkookie. You're growing up too fast. I want to cry sometimes when I think about it." He gave the top of Jungkook's head a kiss before resting his cheek against his hair, wanting to crush the younger within his embrace, "Do you guys remember when we first met him?"

"Please don't start with that shit." Jungkook murmured from Jimin's chest, trying to break free from the older's hold but Jimin had him crushed in his arms, "I'd rather die than hear this."

"He was so damn cute. Remember those big round eyes, hiding behind Seokjin all the time?" Hoseok laughed softly, getting up off the floor, "Time flies." He chuckled, smoothing his sweater down and walking around Jungkook's room, immediately starting to clean up a bit, "Why is there so much mess here?" He mumbled to himself, organizing Jungkook's boxes up against the wall.

"Now he's taller, eating nuts and bolts for breakfast and bench pressing us like nothing." Taehyung chuckled quietly, looking over at Jungkook with a fond smile. He loved this kid more than anything else in the world. More than Yeontan? Maybe.

"You know what they say... life goes on." Jimin nodded, looking up from his phone screen with a smile. His phone buzzed in his hand when he looked up and he quickly opened up his messages, typing up a reply. You finally replied to his message and he wasted no time in texting you back. Wanting to make sure you were okay. He breathed in relief when he read your replies, smiling to himself at the thought that you were safe and sound with RM. How you met up with the leader was a mystery to him but he was glad anyways.

"Life goes on... Like an echo in the forest? " Hoseok tilted his head as he looked at Jimin and Taehyung laughed,

"No. Like an arrow in the blue sky."

"Please stop you guys are always so cringey. Fuck. Just leave. I had enough of y'all." Jungkook pulled back from Jimin and playfully pushed the elder away, fixing his sweater with a huff. He was embarrassed, yes but also thankful for his hyungs coming to his aid. Jungkook had to fight himself to stop refrain from bawling in front of his member's. He truly believed he would of went crazy with his thoughts if he was alone. He was glad they were able to help him realize his faults.

"Wait, aren't you supposed to be moved out by now? I thought you were moving in with Y/N? Why are your things still here?" Jimin mumbled as he looked around, getting up to help Hoseok move a large box out of the way.

"She...--" Jungkook licked his lips and chuckled, shaking his head, "I feel so fucking stupid for saying this but I was waiting for her to ask me to move in with her."

"I thought you bought the place for the both of you." Hoseok looked over his shoulder at Jungkook, raising a brow, "You're just living out of boxes right now or something?"

"I did but—" Jungkook pursed his lips before his tongue when into his cheek, running his fingers through his hair, "I thought it would be cute if she asked me."

"Now you're the cringey one. Who the fuck does that?" Taehyung rolled his eyes with a laugh, tilting his head back, "Just move in with her. Don't wait for her to ask."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!" The three hyungs all yelled out together and Jungkook dodged out of the way when Jimin tossed a pillow at his head, "Or just live out of a box forever. Your choice."

"Fine. Get out then."

"Go home, Kookie." Taehyung mumbled as he got up, reaching down to ruffle Jungkook's hair.

"Your real home." Jimin nodded with a grin, following Taehyung with a smile, "The one you own with your girlfriend and cover up those hickies on your neck. I can't believe you told everyone that I did that to you. Now I'm getting weird looks from the staff." Jimin rolled his eyes and Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly,

"I'm sorry, hyung. I couldn't think of anyone else to blame."

"It's okay, Jiminie. Take one for the team. I'm sure Jungkook will treat you to a nice dinner for it." Taehyung chuckled as he made his way to the door to pull his shoes on.

Hoseok followed the two with a laugh, humming the tune to their song Home as he sang, "Something, something, something, Mi Casa.. With Y/N, Jungkook's finna feel rich." He grinned, turning around to Jungkook as he stood by the door, bending to put his shoes on, his voice a bit more serious now "You'll be okay, J.K. Just take it slow. You and Y/N will figure it out."

Jungkook took a deep breath, rising out of his chair and grabbing a pair of his boxing gloves off the floor, nodding slowly, "We will. I know we will." He nodded and followed after them, sliding his shoes on and following the three out of the dorm, "Going to go box my insecurities out. Be right back."

"Wait, Kook." Taehyung mumbled once they were all outside the door, stopping Jungkook as he headed to the gym doors, "You know we love you right? And we love Y/N too. I didn't mean to get upset with you like that. You're just a lil too dumb sometimes but I would do anything for you." He nodded, dark eyes piercing into Jungkook's as he gave the younger a boxy grin, "Don't forget that."

"I won't, V hyung. I love you guys too." Jungkook mumbled with a nod, lips pressing into a line.

Bangtan forever. He thought to himself as he shared a nostalgic look with his hyung before they bid goodnight to each other.

...

You pressed start on your car and turned up the heat a bit to let the vehicle warm up. You rubbed your hands together and patted your cheeks, already feeling warmer thanks to Namjoon's scarf and you realized you should have returned the scarf back to him before he left. You peeked out the window again but he was already gone. You took a deep breath and then shook your head, plucking your phone out of your pocket and unlocking it with a sigh to reply to Jimin's message from earlier:

1:45AM - Me

I'm with Namjoon lol long story...

...Where's Jungkook?

1:45AM - Jiminie

He's with me, v and hobi~~ 😙

Are you okay? Do you need anything?

1:46AM - Me

I'm okay Jiminie 😊 dw about me
Do you know ifJungkook is coming home tonight?

1:47AM - Jiminie

Not sure 🙁 🙁 🙁 I'm sorry boo 🙁

I think he's sleeping here tonight

You rolled your eyes and exited out of Jimin's messages, locking your phone and shoving it back into your pocket. Alright, so he wants to sleep there? Fine. You huffed to yourself and turned on the heated seats of the car, putting the directions back to your apartment into the GPS because you had no idea where you were going. You sat there for a bit longer, letting the car warm a bit more before you finally began to drive, eyes glancing to the map on the screen of your dashboard.

You drove in silence, wanting to focus on getting home safely. You pulled your beanie off your head and tossed onto the passenger seat, fingers smoothing through your hair as you stared out at the empty road in front of you. "He's sleeping here tonight. Huh." You mumbled to yourself, shaking your head. "Sleep on the floor then." You muttered in disappointment. You literally told Jungkook you'll see him at home. You wanted to call him and tell him to come home now but you decided not to.

You were kind of the one that told him to give you space so, why did you miss him that bad already?

You made it home faster than you expected. It wasn't hard to drive on the roads as you thought. You even stopped at a CU near your apartment and stocked up on random snacks you've never tried before. Soon enough, you had your car parked and then you were in the elevator, quickly making your way to the door of the penthouse once the elevator got to the very top floor. You tugged Namjoon's scarf off your neck as you walked down the hallway and fished the keycard to the apartment out of your coat pocket, unlocking the door and stepping into the toasty penthouse.

You hummed in content once you were in the doors of your apartment and flipped the lights on, looking around the place as you slid out of your shoes and jacket, putting them away neatly. It smelled like vanilla in your home and it suddenly made you want to start baking.

You checked the time and shook your head. Never fucking mind. It's already 2:00AM. You yawned softly, rubbing at your eye. "Damn, it's late." You spoke to yourself and yawned again. You walked through the apartment, leaving your bags of snacks you bought at the kitchen table and making your way into the living room, taking your phone out of your pocket and unlocking it quickly, shooting a quick text to RM and letting him know you were home. He replied instantaneously, bidding you a goodnight/morning with an adorable sleeping cat gif.

You smiled at Namjoon's response, locking your phone and feeling your shoulders slump. You looked around at the lonely apartment, lips twisting to the side before pouting lightly. Why did it feel so empty without Jungkook?  You thought to yourself, fingers brushing through your hair, tossing your phone onto the couch and headed to towards the bedroom and bathroom area. You peeked into the second room that Jungkook had converted into an office/gaming room, hoping you'd find him there but it was empty. You glanced around at the empty shelves left for your things and you sighed, shaking your head and disappearing to the bathroom, mumbling to yourself as you flipped the lights on,

"I swear to God if he doesn't come home, I'm pulling up to his dorm." You stared at yourself in the reflection of the mirror in the bathroom and leaned in close to the mirror, inspecting your face and skin, shrugging dismissively and turning to the large stand-up shower and jacuzzi tub.

You hummed in thought to yourself. Since Jungkook wasn't home to intrude on your showers and then keep you up until ungodly hours of the night like he did when he was at your house back in your city, you decided to shower and head straight to bed. You've been getting little to no sleep lately and your sleeping patterns were still fucked up thanks to jet lag. You stood in the middle of the large bathroom, tugging Jungkook's sweater off your body along with the rest of your clothes, kicking them to the side as you made your way into the shower,

"When did I ever become so lonely without another person?"  You mumbled to yourself as you turned the shower on and stood under the streamy water.
