Chapter 1-Beginnings and Ends
Flashback
"Kaacchaan!.." I called his name. Katsuki Bakugo was my best friend and so was Izuku Midoriya. Izuku really wanted to be a hero and always followed me and Bakugo around because he was so awestruck by our quirks, but it all went downhill when we discovered that Izuku didn't have a quirk. Bakugo would always have his lackies with him, but I knew they didn't matter as much as the friendship I had with Bakugo and Izuku. They were my best friends and I had thought nothing could break us apart. I thought wrong.
I turned to a small playground and gasped at the sight I were now seeing. A crying boy laying on the ground with a teary eyed Izuku spreading his arms wide to protect him.
"If you keep on hurting him, I'll.uh..stop you myself!" Izuku meekily said putting up his shaking fist.
"Hmph," Katsuki smirked confidently while creating a small explosion in his childish palms,"You don't stand a chance with out a quirk, Deku!"
Izuku back away in fear as Katsuki and his two lackies came for him. Izuku braced for the feeling of pain that he knew he was going to endure. He closed his eyes shut , waiting for something to hit him, but nothing did. He felt a looming presence that was casting a shadow over him. Still too afraid to look, but his eyes shot open at the sound of my name.
"Tekami? Why are you here?"
My hawk-like wings opened wide covering Izuku while I stood on twos with my lion paws. My eyes narrowed and golden like an eagle and my teeth became sharp like an eagle beak.
Wings? Eagle? Lion? Yep, I am a griffon and that's not the only thing I could transform into. My name was Tekami Okuda and I could transform into any mythological creature there was as long as my heart truly believed in those myths.
"Why I'm here doesn't matter! Why are you bullying Izuku!?" I shouted at them while the other two boys started snickering and Katsuki gave me a cocky smirk.
"Because he's quirkless! He'll never stand a chance at being a hero if he doesn't have a quirk!" Katsuki mentioned harshly making Izuku whine a little bit.
"Why are you protecting him, Tekami? You know that you and I have the most strongest quirks out of our group! Leave Deku and we'll be the best heroes together!" Katsuki shout raising his small fist in the air creating an explosion smiling confidently.
"No." I said coldly," If that's how you treat your friends then I don't want any part of it. I'm staying here with Izuku."
His smile dropped the moment I said that. He just looked plain shocked and started to process what he had just heard.
"O-Okuda-san.." Izuku said in his shaky voice while his face was wet from tears.
"You..You are seriously choosing him over me! I'm way better than that quirkless runt!" Katsuki angrily shouted at me, giving me his furious scowl.
"I don't want any friends that don't believe in Izuku, Kacchan!" I shouted at him. I've never seen this side of Katsuki before. Sure there were always his cocky comments, but that was it. It honestly hurt me to see him this way. It really did hurt.
I turned to face Izuku who was now sitting on the ground in still shaking from the fear Katsuki gave him.
"Izuku." I said softly to calm down Izuku.
"Ye-Y-Yes Okuda-san?' Izuku said shakily from the sudden call of his name.
"I believe that you can become a hero!" I said cheerfully giving him a bright smile.
Izuku's eyes widened in surprise, but he gave you a sweet confident smile until it was brought back to fear again.
"DEEEKU! YOU'RE DEAD!" Katsuki was running towards us with explosions coming out of his hands. He had that scary scowl on his face like he really was going to kill someone and if he had the power he would, too.
"Oh no you don't-!" I said as I rushed to stop him. I caught his punch, but winced as sparks burned my paw.
"Out of my way, Tekami!" He barked at me trying to throw his other hand at me. I caught his other fist as well and we continued to fight more. Battling it out like pure enemies.
He burned me which will probably leave scars I'll hate seeing later while on the other hand I had kicked him in the stomach sending him back to his lackies, knocking them both over.
"Nngh..Darn it!" Katsuki groaned trying to get up, pushing the two other boys off of him.
I puffed out heavy breathes, tired from fighting Katsuki. I swiftly changed into a Manticore. A Manticore was a beast with the arms and legs of a lion along with the ears and tai, but you still had your human face and upper body. I went down on all fours like a real animal, crouching down.
"Izuku! Get on!" I shouted at Izuku motioning him to ride on my back. Katsuki will soon come for another attack and I needed to get Izuku out of there before he got injured anymore
"W-Wha What? I-I..uh..can't do that and plus your injured, Okuda-san!" Izuku didn't obey while pointing at my minor burns that were slightly bleeding and red and pink open flesh.
"I'm fine! We need to get out of here now! Get on!" I lied and commanded harshly to him. Out of the corner of my eyes I could vaguely see Katsuki and his two followers recovering and starting to get back up.
"Hurry!" I shouted making Izuku yelp and cautiously, but hurriedly to get on my back and sit himself down embarrassed and super flustered, pink dusting his freckled face.
I got back up from the crouching position and clawed the ground getting ready to sprint and leave this fight.
"Hold on tight!" I said smirking causing Izuku to loosely wrap his arms around my neck. I turned my head to slightly face Izuku and Izuku gave me a nervous nod, saying that he was ready to leave.
"Oi! You cowards! Running away from a fight! You put yourself on the same level as Deku, Tekami!" Katsuki shouted out in anger as he running towards us.
"Bye, bye! And Remember Katsuki" I said my goodbye playfully, but my voice became a serious and vicous tone.
"I hate you now Katsuki." I said bitterly giving him the coldest, most heartless glare. Although I said those words it felt like something heavy was placed on my chest and shoulders, like there was a feeling of regret. I ignored it though. I hate him now and that is how it will stay. It will just be me and Izuku. For now..
Katsuki just stood there dumbfounded by my words. His eyes lost his furious spark and turned sad or furiously depressed. My words could never hurt someone like the way they did to Katsuki. He felt guilty and hurt, but of course he would never admit that. He was perfect the way he was and everyone else just isn't, right?
