Appearance // Rita appears as a short, small and rather young girl and has long and wavy light pink-purple-magenta-dusty rose-colored hair styled into a side ponytail, tied with a large ribbon. Sometimes she lets it down, but most of the time it's up. Her eyes are a bright darkish-magenta-pink color. Ryuu is taller, typically seen with slightly fluffy dark chocolate-brown hair. However, that was before he acquired Rita, and now since she sometimes 'takes over', his appearance tends to be impacted by however long she stays. It can grow to be long or short, but most of the time he just keeps it choppy shoulder-length. If she stays long, it'll start swirling with her own hair color and his and white. Worst-case scenario, as stated by him, it'll grow long and split down vertically evenly in half-one side white, the other lilac. His eyes are also impacted by that, although most of the time they're a blank violet color. 'Normal' mode, his hair is black at the roots, fades to light silver-gray, then tipped in white. He is rather thin and sometimes scarily slim, as a result from trying to die from starvation one time.

Special Ability //

Since there are two in one, there are technically two special abilities. However, only one person may wield their power. Technically the other can too, but it will cause them great drawbacks if they do.

Rita's Special Ability // Gasp of the Soul. This lets her manipulate the age of anyone she touches. Rita is able to use her ability on herself, allowing her to alter her physical age for both disguising herself (for infiltration and people-manipulating purposes) and to mature her body to a more physically stronger age. She usually maintains a rather young appearance, but will sometimes, just to freak her friends out, turn into an old lady overnight. Sometimes she is called in to to the police station because her ability is useful both for interrogation and torture, with her ability allowing her to rapidly age someone to old age and cause them to develop several illnesses and maladies normal to old people, before rapidly pulling them back to a much younger age, putting a severe psychological strain on her victim's senses and severely damaging them mentally due to how quickly she alters their age before they can acclimate to the new sensation and feelings of their rapidly changing bodies, making her ability ideal for interrogations due to her not actually "hurting" her victims. 

Ryuu's Special Ability // Object Switching. He can switch the places of any two objects, as long as he knows where they're both located, and can see at least one of them. It doesn't sound super dangerous at first, but imagine you're fighting alongside someone and you aim a gun to fire at him, but then in the blink of an eye, it's your comrade you shoot instead. He can switch places with anyone, anything, and because of that, he's almost impossible to hit. And it's not just himself that he moves. His signature strategy is to carry coins with him-because they're small, but heavy enough to throw-that he can easily exchange for other things he might need. He has a massive hidden weapon arsenal that he uses in battle; he could throw a five-yen coin at someone, then not a moment later, it's a heat-seeking missile. Or he could exchange it for a gun, and when the cartridge runs out, all the change in his pockets become bullets, so he never runs out of ammo. Of course, all the above listed... haven't been discovered by him yet and I don't know if we'll get that far to that point, but I'm just listing stuff off right now. ^v^'

Skills Associated With Zodiac // 

1. Incredible Hearing and Smell. This skill is favored by Ryuu, who uses it to help him overcome his blindness. He is able to hear the breath and heartbeats of others and animals from a very long distance and is able to determine his surroundings with his hearing. His sense of smell is also highly sharp, used for tracking.

2. Memories I Left Behind // Information Switching // This is also used more commonly by Ryuu, Rita claiming that 'she has no need for such a weird skill.' This lets him, through touch, let him essentially exchange information- him receiving the information he most wants to know from the other person, and the other person receiving the information they most want to know from him in return. A bit on the inconvenient side, side, since it means giving away their own intel, but as long as the other person doesn't know who he is it'll be easy. He doesn't really use it and has it turned 'off' most of the time to avoid giving out his own personal information.

3. Dispersion. This skill is favored by Rita, which allows her to literally disperse into any creature that travels in a group-most commonly butterflies or insects like bees and wasps, but also works for birds and wolves. The larger the animal and the group the harder it is to maintain, and if one of the animals gets hurt it will rebound onto her. This is a nod to at how the rat reproduces a lot.

Drawbacks & Advantages // While both of their abilities are powerful, they are also incredibly difficult on their bodies. Sometimes Rita doesn't come back completely (like one arm will still be butterflies), and needs all of her animals to turn back into a human. If even one is missing she stays in dispersion form, which really sucks. If she uses her special ability too much, the very diseases of old age will impact her too, and will change erractically from different ages-most extremely from a baby to an old lady in an instant, which really doesn't help in mid-battle. Ryuu is more careful that she is with his powers, but wears gloves whenever he goes outside to prevent accidentally getting the wrong information. There are no physical drawbacks to his hearing, but one problem is a really loud noise will impact him greatly-thus he detests intense emotions and abrupt changes in moods from others around him since he can literally hear it happen. There are also no physical drawbacks with his special ability, but it requires immense brainpower and focus to make sure he doesn't switch the wrong items-one wrong switch could result in disaster. It makes him more tired than usual and with too much use he will literally fall into a coma for weeks while his brain tries to cope with the overload of calculations it has to make.

Curses // 

(Ryuu) 1. Borderline personality disorder. He has a suicidal tendency and a rather unstable personality, although he doesn't show it most of the time, and usually starts plotting things without knowing, and tends to react to most suspicious things with violence or some kind of unstable reaction. His mood swings can be rather intense as well, although he hides most of it. This one affects him greatly.

2. Blindness. He has been blind from birth as far as he knows, and uses his hearing to compensate for this. However, he can see when Rita 'takes over' (which she does often) which is how he can use his special ability. 

(Rita) 1. Bipolar personality disorder. She could easily switch from being a cheerful, cute young girl to a ruthless fighting killer in a moment's notice. The best way to bring this out is to either threaten/kill her close ones, or anger her. Or... try and give her orders.

Backstory // Before he was a normal human, he was part of a very powerful and very dark mafia organization and was one of the leaders. He has been part of that as long as he can remember, and as such, he had developed a rather sadistic, cruel, cold, cunning, psychotic, and overall and really scary personality. He had no qualms about killing, torturing, and was supposedly rumored to be able to make anyone and everyone talk after 'talking' with them. Ryuu had both Rita's special ability and his own (but he just knew about the hearing), quickly making him a very feared and powerful person as he was able to use both easily. He also found a stone that slowed down his aging, and stayed there for a long time using that. During that time, he met the Cat (although neither knew about the zodiacs at that time) and was forced - ahem, agreed - to become his partner. Naturally, it worked out well. HAHA NOPE. However, they were both devastatingly powerful, even more so as partners even though their personalities conflicted immensely. (Ryuu was usually the one getting ordered around by the Cat, much to his chagrin) Despite that, Ryuu did admit that the Cat was the person he was closest to back then. When the God called them for the race, however, Ryuu did not hesitate to betray the Cat, albeit with some hesitation, and won, becoming the Rat of the zodiac. Afterward, the Cat confronted him, saying that they had anticipated that and drew his weapon. The two then fought, and eventually Ryuu won, stabbing the Cat in the chest in his bloodlust. He came to his senses and was horrified at what he did. With the Cat's dying breath, he told Ryuu to live and be on the side that saves people instead, before dying. Out of grief and rage, Ryuu tried killing himself, but failed. The God appeared, saying that a zodiac could not die immediately after being chosen. The God, however, seeing the state Ryuu was in, offered a counter deal: He could wipe his memories of the Cat and create somebody to help 'keep him in line'. Ryuu accepted, and that was how Rita was created-from the other essence of him, and the God gave her his first special ability, then promptly plopped both of them in a house with an explanation already inside their heads. The God had erased Ryuu's memories of being the Rat, the Cat, but kept his memories of the mafia and the Cat's promise, so that he could stay on the good side. He's lived 'normal' life for about three years now, and has locked up the slow-aging stone away. The Cat was the one who gave him the bracelet, although he forgot about it.

Pain/Problem // Ryuu is constantly plagued by horrifying nightmares and immense guilt from his time as a leader, and as such has tried to commit suicide several times, even when he was young. He still does try on some occasions, but mostly has grown out of that habit, but he still wears bandages wrapped around his wrists and around his neck to remind himself about his promise to change. (He knows somewhere that someone told him to change, but can't remember who said it) Also, his second curse affects him greatly. 

Personality // Most of the time, Rita is a bright, cheerful, and outgoing person who likes talking to people, meeting them, and learning new things. She highly enjoys fighting as well, a trait she got from Ryuu, but doesn't like people who torture others without any good reason. Because she likes to appear as a young girl most of the time, she gets hit on by men... on a regular basis, and she happily beats them up on a regular basis. Rita's fuse is pretty short-she's not afraid to snap at anyone, and if they managed to piss her off them she'll probably start regularly threatening them with various detailed threats. In fact, because she technically isn't a 'real human being', her body has been enhanced magically to have capabilities several times above a regular humans-ex. speed, strength, endurance-which she uses mainly to beat the crap out of gangs with zero trouble. She has a slightly psychotic personality and, especially if the person has committed some crime against her or her friends, slooooowly torture them for information in various ways. (Still in search of someone who will last being tortured under her for more than 10 years, ability-terms) While Rita is a 'head-on' type of person, it is also immensely fun for her to trick her opponents in letting their guard down by transforming into a (sometimes senile) old lady or a cute young girl. If she doesn't feel in the mood for blood or just finished with something of the sort, she'll be pretty amiable and fun to be around-but don't let that fool you. Rita is the scariest not when she's angry-or when she's torturing someone - . . . it's when she obediantly listens to whatever her opponent is saying. Once she does that, then you know you're going to end up dead on the ground even if it kills her.

Ryuu is vastly different. He is more quiet and thoughtful since leaving the mafia, and most of the time is seen tired of her antics or being comedic relief. He also enjoys fighting, but is most often seen with an emotionless or bored expression, even when killing, around strangers and those he doesn't know. But when you actually get to know him, it would appear that he is a rather carefree, sarcastic individual who doesn't have a care in the world and most of the time is seen slacking off or singing about suicide. He rarely tells anyone about himself and keeps his secrets locked up tight; even if he does give you any information about himself 8 out of 10 he's not telling the entire truth. His lying and fighting skills are above an average human's since he's used to it, since he believes he doesn't have 'a very combat-oriented ability'. Ryuu has however learned to exploit his hearing power to the point where he can easily see through any lies and like Rita likes to slooooowly torture the person by breaking them down until they break from how much he knows, which is a nasty habit of his as Rita claims. Although most days he doesn't get much fun in that department, he certainly has the brains to do something like that. (Still trying to figure out how to forcibly block Rita from taking over and her voice) Ryuu loves to annoy others as a pasttime and is also, maybe unfortunately for others, very good at it. The only people closest to him and know the most about him would be Rita (obviously) and the Cat; the walls he's built up around him are impressively thick and hard to get through.

How they usually dress // For some reason Rita really likes dressing in what one would assume a common military outfit would be like-a slim green woman's military jacket and jodhpur pants, complete with a hat, tilted on the side to make room for her ponytail.

- Ryuu is slightly kleptomanic and sometimes will have an urge to take something shiny from the store with his ability, although most of the time if he does he'll switch it with the money needed to pay.  

- Both of them are kind of hoarders, and their house is filled with tons of random stuff.

- Rita likes to comment sarcastically in Ryuu's ear while he's talking to through him off, which is why sometimes he stops in the middle of talking to scream at her to shut up.

- Ryuu is famed to try and kill himself at least once every one or two weeks, sometimes more regularly when he thinks Rita isn't watching, but she always stops him with a side of loud and strict lectures.

Weird/Odd/Quirky or just normal Habits //

Ryuu // - He likes to chew or nibble on his thumb, often making it bleed

- He also likes to combine same-colored food together for fun; for example, sugar with rice, chocolate with coffee, tomatoes with red peppers... sometimes they can turn out great, sometimes not so much, much to the disgust of everyone else.

Rita // - Has a really bad habit of eavesdropping with her ability, but doesn't do it as much since if she tries Ryuu will screech in her ear not to do that and mourns that fact a lot.
