"Hello, everyone!" Dr. Cloud addressed and the room quietened down immediately "as we all know, we are here for the Selection Ceremony of Mr. Nico di Angelo!" She explained and I got a wonderful applaud. From where I was sitting I could see everyone in the audience. It was only supposed to be for the segment leaders but they all brought plus ones. Ge brought Mathia, Glen brought Chai, Anna brought Henry, Mike was with another boy who looked very frightened indeed and Sidney brought one of the other athletes whom I think was her boyfriend. After what I'd heard Mr Lang say, the leaders would surround me and I would choose one of them. Dr. Could had also told me that after my initial choice I would be sworn into that segment and basically just sign my commitment and dedication to said segment.
"-he has performed admirably and Mr Lang will know tell us his scores in each of the segments." Dr. Cloud sat at my right and Mr Lang stood from his seat on my left and walked to the desk.
"Athletes, 10. Spell casters, 0. Enviromentals, 10. Academically More Able, 10 and lastly Mentalists, 10" everyone cheered at my results. Through out the listing the leaders of each segment kept smiling at me. It made me laugh a little.

"Alright, now for the choosing!" Cloud clapped once and the leaders rose and I walked with the group of them to the space behind the desk. Ge positioned himself in front of me, the rest of the circle spread themselves. I spun once to look each of them in the eye, before Turing full circle back to Ge. I closed my eyes and breathed for what felt like hours, but when I was ready I looked up, stared easily at Ge, who smirked back at me. I walked forward.
"Hello Geoffrey" I said casually
"Hello Nico" he whispered back
The rest of the leader moved soundlessly back to their chairs but Ge stayed with me at the table
"Now Nico, I'm going to swear you into the Mentalists and you'll sign the form which gives you permission to compete in tournaments, understand?" And I nodded, he couldn't stop grinning
"Alright, so please repeat the following lines: I Nico di Angelo."
"I Nico Di Angelo,"
"Will hereby pledge my allegiance and contribution to the Mentalists,"
"Will hereby pledge my allegiance and contribution to the Mentalists."
"And will follow the orders give by my appointed leader, Geoffrey Chase Parker, when relevant to the segments actions"

"Wonderful! Now please sign you name here" I picked up the fountain pen from the desk and wrote my name in the same cursive that my father used. I passed the pen to Ge and he signed the line below. Cloud and Mr Lang also signed the form and then we were all dismissed. Ge hugged me and went to grab my hand, but I pulled it from his grasp
"Uhm, actually I need a word with Cloud, my dad called and I needed to ask her something." I smiled at him so he wouldn't suspect anything
"Alright! Well don't be long! I've got a surprise for you!" He whispered and then kissed me quickly

The teachers were all fussing over something, but when I approached Mr Lang didn't say a word he just smiled sadly. I was so sure I'd disappointed him with my decision
"Dr. Cloud?" She turned and smiled sweetly
"Yes, dear?"
"Well I was wondering if I could have a word?" She nodded quickly and we left the room and she lead the way to her office which was only up a flight of stairs.
"Now, what is it that seems to be bothering you my dear?" Her hands were settled on her desk and I shifted in the seat opposite hers
"Well now that I'm a mentalist, I think it's pretty indecent that I should be sharing a room with my leader." I began. She nodded slowly as if she were deep in though
"Also as I'm sure you are aware, Geoffrey and I are actually dating and given this situation I believe that a change of room could be very helpful."
"Well, yes, yes of course!" She snapped from her daze immediately "no it is highly inappropriate!" That's when she picked up the very old looking rotary phone
"Yes? Hello, I'm calling concerning Mr. di Angelo's living quarters. Yes, could you please take his things and move them into 501. Yes, thats the one, thank you Mr Lloyd" she put the receiver down in one swift movement and looked back up at me
"I'm very glad you can to speak to me, as you just heard I've made the arrangement for your change of dormitory" I thanked her and made my way to my new dorm.

On my way I passed the kitchens, I could tell from the smell which was a beautiful aroma, of roast chicken and lemons. I pushed open the door and was greeted by about two dozen women wearing an assortment of aprons.
"Uhm... Hullo?" I asked, I decided to put on my very best innocent British accent.
"Why, hello there dear!" A very large woman bustled over and opened one of the vast fridges that I was standing next to
"I missed breakfast and lunch, I was wondering if I would be able to grab a roll... Just to tie me over until tea time?" She laughed and placed a hand around my shoulders
"Jus' a roll?" Her voice rang with a northern twang "come on, hav'a seat and I'll get ya a hot choc and a piece a' cake" the rest of the women laughed too. I took a seat at one of the long pure wooden work benches. But only when a mug the size of a bucket and a piece of cake bigger than my head were slung in front of me, did I realise how hungry I was. The cook brought over a large jug filled with hot chocolate and a bowl full of marshmallows.
"Eat up sweetie, you could do with some extra weight" she came up next to me and grabbed my arm, "look at ya! Skin an' bone!" She sighed a laugh and rolled her eyes. And with that I dug into the cake.

It was about 2 o'clock when I re-entered the common room, Ge stomped up to me immediately
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" He yelled. All eyes in the common room turned to us he pulled me out by my sleeve, and pulled my smiled off along with it
"They've moved all your stuff out of our room?!" Ge continued whisper screaming
"yeah, that was cloud!" I scratched the back of my neck innocently "she gave me a hell of a lecture about how it's totally inappropriate for you and me to be sharing a room, given that we're dating" Ge dropped his arms from his chest and huffed
"Well fuck! Was she very hard on you?" He picked up a strand of my hair, moving closer to me
"No, it was okay. I've been scolded before..." I moved my eyes from the floor to his, they were bright and pale like birth stones, glistening.
"Haven't we all..." He trailed off, his eyes moving from my own to my lips. His touched mine and for the first time, I felt something. It wasn't a spark or fireworks, it was just a feeling like something was wrong or that I'd forgotten something. The kind I used to get at camp before I'd met...him. Ge's hands moved down my arms and I hooked my fingers round the back of his suit collar.
"Ge-" I pulled away and he licked his lips, looking back into my eyes
"Yeah?" His voice was distant and dreamy
"I'm really tired and I have to go find my new room and sort everything out-" I began to move away from him
"Well I'll come! Help you out-" but I interrupted him
"No! I mean, no it's alright! You've done some much for me already!" He leaned down and kissed me again and entwined his fingers in mine
"Well I'll come and meet you for breakfast! We're working on tournament technique tomorrow!"
"But tomorrow's Sunday?" I said, turning back from where I was heading
"It's a..." He pulled me back by my hand, which was still locked in his grasp, "private lesson..." I kissed him quickly and playfully and then ran off and found my room in the east wing, which was the opposite to the wing Ge was in.
